Hi,
I tried to s-off my sensation with JuopunutBear and the wire trick. But the wire trick did not work, so I decided to reboot the device, but after rebooting the tool starts again and again. My device is unlocked via htcdev and s-on. What can I do to get a working device? Is it possible to flash a rom via bootloader and fastboot as PG58IMG.zip or update zip. When I try to "adb.exe push XXXX:zip /sdcard" it says "device not found" It is really strange. Dont know what happened to my phone.

Tool starts again.. Means the phone is showing Juopunutbear screen?
Also the output is showing that device is not connected... So the device is not properly connected
First if conceded the device via usb hub or usb 3.0 port.. Avoid them.. Connect it directly to pc/laptop
Also if it's pc.. Connect the device to back usb ports
Un install htc sync If you got that installed

good..but remove the crappy unlocked hboot and get Jupopunutbear HBOOT
its much better
get the pyramid ics one and run it according to instructions
link and instructions here
after running those commands
to go back
type "fastboot reboot-bootloader" that would take you to bootloader
Why is it bad to have this unlocked hboot? Cant I just lock it again with fastboot oem lock?

Keep your phone connected to pc from bootloader (phone reads fastboot usb after this)
And go to the controlbear folder from where you done the jb soff
There should be a boot_backup.img
(if not there then you might have multiple copies of controlbear and used some other copy)
Copy the boot_backup.img to your adb folder (folder which has adb.exe and fastboot.exe)
Open command window there
(hold shift + right click - open command windows here)
And type this
fastboot flash boot boot_backup.img
Then reboot
Using
fastboot reboot

one question though, i dont have this fastboot, only the adb, is there a guide to get it, im not used to the desire s, have had a desire original until now, and also booting into fastboot mode, how is that done on the s?
thanks
@tht13
To start fastboot, (boot into hboot (power+vol down) then plug phone in "HBoot USB plug" shows once phone is plugged in and press the power button (fastboot is highlighted by default) then it says "Fastboot USB")
Then RUN the command "fastboot oem lock"
If that doesn't work run the command (assuming you have your fastboot set up on the PC right) "fastboot getvar all" and paste the results (removing wout serial/imei)

You are soff?
Did you have fastboot/adb setup?
Can you go into bootloader and post the hboot, radio, son/soff status.
(to go into bootloader remove battery... Put it again then press volume down and power button together... You'll get a white screen.. Post the details from that..)
First of all if you used PG58IMG.zip for firmware update then either remove the file from sdcard via a card reader.. Or just boot into bootloader without sdcard in your phone
sent from my blazing fast pyramid through sonic waves
You can either superCID or add YOUR cid to the firmware file.
Either one is pretty simple. I'm going to assume that you have adb set up already, but if not you'll need that first.
SuperCID:
remove or rename PG58IMG.zip from sdcard
reboot into bootloader (power+vol down)
from adb/fastboot directory:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
put PG58IMG.zip back on sdcard
boot into bootloader again and let flash complete
Edit PG58IMG.zip:
extract the zip file
locate the android_info.txt
edit the file with notepad++ to add your cid matching the format of the others listed
compress all extracted files into a new zip and flash

You need to go to fastboot from hboot screen use volume up/down buttons to browse through menu and use power button to enter it once you've selected fastboot.
Then connect your device to your pc
Your phone should read fastboot usb.. Once you've done this
Now go to you pc and
Type fastboot devices
If it shows your device serial number then good its connected
Now to SuperCID
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
This will do.. Make sure it has eight ones
Then after this you can update your firmware using the pg***file you got

let me get this straight ..
when you connect the phone from bootloader to PC ..whats the phone is saying ?
HBOOT or FASTBOOT USB ?
if its saying HBOOT ..press power button once ..that will take you to FASTBOOT USB
if its FASTBOOT USB then you are onnected properly
now to test the connection
open command window from the adb/fastboot folder of your PC (if windows hold shift + right click -> open command window here)
and type this
fastboot devices
it should show your device ..and the rest you follow from the guide

i have searched and have found many people with similar problems but none of the solutions have helped me, that said i apologise if ive missed the answer.
so ive used htcdev to unlock my bootloader which went fine then ive decided to "s-off" my phone which has gone fine, well im "s-off"ed however im stuck on the juopunutbear screen everytime i turn the phone on.
ive tried guide on the unlimited.io website - controlbear.exe -r, controlbear.exe -f. when i carry out the next point when i get to "fastboot flash recovery recovery_backup.img" i get a failed.
this i believe has happened because i started the process in kgs1992's aio app which crashed so i shut it and completed in controlbear, i cant think where else i went wrong, ive read loads of guides.
HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLPP........gotta ring my dad tomorrow which atm isnt gonna happen!

And are you still struck at the juopunutbear screen?
Then what error you got when you used fastboot command?
... wait why did you do juopunutbear when you are already soff?
Edit:
Got the point..
Try those fastboot commands again
Connect the phone properly .. you should connect the phone properly.. If connected properly the phone says FASTBOOT USB .. if it's just saying FASTBOOT then you didn't have drivers installed or the connection is not proper.
If it's saying HBOOT press power button once.. That should take you to required screen

If Struck on juopunutbear screen:
Well, there's an easy solution if you're struck on the juopunutbear boot screen on your phone. Follow the steps in order:
1.Open the folder where you've extracted the juopunutbear setup files.
2.There'll be a image file in the folder called "boot_backup".
3.Copy that file to the folder you've created during the bootloader unlocking process from HTCDev. The folder contains the fastboot.exe, AdbWinApi.dll etc files, and probably it is in your c:\Android.
4.Rename the copied boot_backup image file to "boot" only.
5.Take out your battery out, reinsert it and boot into the bootloader mode using volume down + power button.
6.You'll see a red writing " fastboot usb"
7.See your computer screen now, the current folder where you copied and renamed.
8.Holding "shift" button on your keyboard, right click inside the folder and select "open command promp window here".
9.Type the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and press enter.
10.Then type" fastboot reboot" and press enter.
11.Your phone should reboot normally now.
[****The above method is based on stock sensation rom. If you're struck in a custom rom, then in step 3, copy the boot.img file of the custom rom from where you've downloaded your rom and continue the steps******]
Make sure you unplug all usb devices when doing juopunutbear method, I couldn't do it for hours then I unplugged all devices and restarted PC. It worked on 1st try.

Thank you! You have helped me a lot!
Hello Forums,
I own a htc sensation and I want to install cyanogenmod on it.
I found this guide which I tried to follow.
The first step, unlocking the bootloader went fine, I went to the htcdev website and went through the different steps. It worked, but starting the "SDK Manager.exe" did not bring up a new window, there was just a cmd-window flashing up, I could not read what it said. I proceeded without that step and just used the 3 files given without an update I guess. In the end my phone was unlocked, so I thought everything went fine.
Then I had to get S-OFF on my phone. At first I looked at this website but it says there:
The supported version(s) of HBOOT for your device: 1.17.0006, .0008, .0011 and .0012, 1.18.0000.

Click to collapse
and on my device it said: 1.27.0000, therefore I could not follow the steps given there.
then I tried this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614617 and I am not sure if it worked, in the bootloader now it says:
=JuopunutBear=
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.27.1111

I think I actually failed the wire trick, I was not paying attention to any timing whatsoever, I just wanted to see how the program reacts and it suddenly worked.
Notice how the HBOOT number changed from 1.27.0000 to 1.27.1111, is that important?
Well, at least it says S-OFF now!
So thus far I have unlocked my bootloader and "enabled" S-OFF.
Have I failed somewhere in these first steps?
The next step according to the first guide I mentioned would be
STEP 3 - Flashing a new recovery

.
I enabled usb-debugging, installed htc-sync + drivers and then uninstalled htc-sync again.
If the phone is turned on normally (not into bootloader) I can find it with
Code:
adb devices
However, If I start up bootloader, the phone won't get recognized anymore.
As described in the guide, I'm trying to flash a new recovery with the tool by hansoon2000.
I load up my bootloader, select fastboot and then connect my phone to my computer.
in the application by hansoon2000, I select 4EXT and click on the button "Flash Recovery", hit OK in the pop-up window and then a cmd-window show up where it says "error: device not found"
Then I close that window and another cmd-window appears telling me that "recovery" was written.
I also used this: http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-set-up-android-adb-and-fastboot-on-windows-tutorial/ to set up my adb.
I use windows 7 64Bit and my phone is a htc sensation, I am not sure about the exact version, however it has no branding on it besides the "htc".
I would appreciate any help / hints given, as I am trying to get this to work since 5 hours now and I am becoming really frustrated.
Also, I used the search engine on this forum, however I do not know what I should search for as I have no idea what the problem could be, because I was only following instructions and not actually comprehending what I was doing.

Hi,
The windows 7 & 8 drivers are in my signature.

Make sure you are only using usb 2.0 slots
Try different slots as well.
Sent telepathically from my pyramid
Ok, I tried different usb slots 2.0 and 3.0 and I still get the same "error: device not found".
My drivers are installed, I made a screenshot, its attached in this post.
The tool I am using that is giving me the errors can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497404
Maybe it is a Problem with the tool? What different methods are there to flash my recovery?
