Windows Mobile 6.5 Lock - Unlock button not responding

SADLY I WAS FORCED TO HARD RESET SO PLEASE DON'T ANSWER THIS NOW.
I have installed Sone WM6.5, most recent built ( thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433808 ). I have set the lock using a simple 4 digit password, but the battery died on my way home tonight (typically in the floods!).
I got home and charged the battery, but I cannot unlock the phone. I can slide the slider to unlock, enter the 4 characters (2233, so it isn't as if I have forgotten it!) the 4 characters are shown at the top as white circles, so it has accepted the input, but if I press the unlock/contacts/mail buttons, they depress (i.e. acknowledge they have been pressed) but nothing happens. If I put an incorrect password in, nothing either - It doesn't tell me that I've entered the password incorrectly!
Is there anything I can do without having to hard reset?

P.S. I have also posted this in the SONE thread HERE in the Diamond > Diamond ROM development forum as I am desparate to get it sorted - So if I get a reply on there first, I'll let this thread know. Hope this isn't against the board rules

Sadly not. I had to hard reset and so lost a few contacts that I hadn't backed up :-/

i had same problem
sadly i just suffered from this same issue....lost a few txts that i couldn't get to...WM needs a safe mode....
hard reseting now

I wonder if this is getting more common? I appreciate that only 3 people affected so far doesn't raise it to pandemic levels yet!!

I am in, you can add me to the list of those affected by the same problem.

same here, just started this morning...i put in the correct password, but unlock icon doesnt work....dont want to hard reset because the messages i need but oh well
Edit: it works now--either two solutions. 1st a screen popped up saying i entered the password incorrectly too many times and i had to enter what i was told to enter on the screen OR 2nd, it couldve been because i entered my original password in landscape mode...hope this helps u all with the problem

I was able to resolve this problem, but I'm not sure the correct solution and I'm not ready to try again!
First the symptoms are exactly the same:
- I was talking in the phone till the battery died, when I recharged the battery and tried to unlock the unlock-key get pressed but doesn't work.
Second I found this thread by google, and also found many other results, the usual solution was to hard-reset ... but my problem was that I cannot reset since my firmware is not original and I don't have any firmwares on any SD-cards ...
Third, again I'm not sure the correct answer but here is what I can tell:
- My phone is iPAQ 910c
- I typed the pin
- I then typed on the letter "z"
- I then typed on "Fn + z" (Which is the character "*" ...)
- I repeatedly pressed on "z"
- I pressed enter many times and the right-arrow ">" many times
- I pressed on "z" again
- I was a bit nervous so I think I pressed on those two keys many many times till finally I found the device unlocked so I'm finally happy

I got it after many google searches and it worked for me too!

I'm also not able to unlock... Same symptoms : Unlock icons doesn't work, either pin is correct or not.
It happens just after connecting my HD to my new Win7 laptop using Windows Mobile Device Center.
Synchronization was complete and one hour later I had to soft reset because of display problems.
I still can access my Touch HD folders by Windows Mobile Device Center and synchronize it, but i can't unlock it...

I have the same problem, but i cant even do a hard reset because my keys are locked, any solution?

Desperately need help with my LG GW620!!

So i bought a used LG GW620 online and when i got it, it still had its gmail account on it, which basically screwed me over. I was wondering if there was anyway to factory reset the phone if unable to do so in the settings menu

Unfortunately this site only deals with HTC phones, not LG. So I doubt that you will get much help here, sorry.

dang. since it's an android phone i thought this place would be a good place for help. any suggestions on where i could get help?
i called lg and rogers and none of them were any help

I will get mine in a couple days (running HTC Dream right now).
I guess if your goal is to just reset the gmail account, you can do so by reseting the google apps setting.
Go to Menu|Settings|Applications|Manage applications
Look for “Google Apps“. Select it.
Press “clear data“
next time you launch the market or gmail, it will prompt for your gmail account again.

I wish I could do that, but the phone won’t even let me go to home screen. Once I turn on the phone it asks for the gmail to get past security. The only access I have on the phone is Emergency Dial

On the EVE to do a FACTORY RESET or DATA RESET
enter in 3845#*620# in the dialer to get in to LG’s hidden menu.

DO THE FOLLOWING TO RESET LG GW620 TO FACTORY SETTINGS.
Hold down the VOLUME DOWN button, MENU button (the one on the keyboard), and CAMERA button for about 5-10 seconds, and a message will come up asking if you want to factory reset the phone.
Important : all data will be lost

Hi, Just to let you all know that I been stuck with a home page that would not load properly but would not close either for the last 24 hours before finding this page! No calls, texts or anything!! I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms. LOL However as long as I got my phone on, & with a little manoeuvring, I managed to get all three of these buttons pressed together & my GW620 did indeed go to the Factory Reset message! Thank you Davy.d

Just to clarify it.. Phone should be ON when you use that key combination. Will work. Tested.

the combinations don't work...the only thing you can do is flashing another firmware it resets the phone

HELP

so my friend got his kid a tablet for Xmas its a Maylong M270 and his youngest got ahold of it and put a pattern lock on the tablet lol but anyways im trying to access the bootloader this tablet come with a keyboard and has no other buttons on it but a power button im hoping the bootloader is unlocked and i can do a reset there but how do i access it usually it like volume down and power or some but theres no buttons lol im frustrated anyone got any ideas...

Don't bump your own thread please. Read the rules of XDA as you obviously need to do so.

Have you tried unlocking it through the gmail account?

they did not setup a gmail account on the device they only had it for a few hours at this point and the makers Maylong are providing 0 support

How to factory reset the Maylong m270
1. get firmware here
http://www.maylonggroup.com/Tablets/M270CQ1/M-270CQ_Ver 1.5.6.zip
2. Unzip and copy contents of folder to a clean sdcard
3. insert sdcard into the tablet and power on.
4. Wait until screen says 100% and tells you to remove media.
5. enjoy!!

That download only gets to about 10% and fails. Does anyone happen to have a copy of this firmware. Ive tried numerous ones but the touch screen doesnt work. I had the same pin-lock problem and the screen worked before

[Q] Can't access setting, app lock!

Hi all first post here but got help many times from lurking on here.
a child of a family friend, quite a smart 10 year old was messing with my phone (i know bad mistake) he just usually takes photos plays games etc. Anyway i went to use my phone and all seemed fine until i tried to go in the settings and it askes for a password, no idea what this password is and he says he does not know as it was an accident.
The app is called "app lock" trying to uninstall it also askes for a password, its just my settings i cant access or that app. Now i would reset my phone by going in the bootloader as i cant get to settings but i cant access bootloader by holding volume down key because i have fastboot on and cant turn it off in settings now.
Now once i flashed my phone using the official ice cream sandwich release, but i cant do that now to get rid of it because my phone wont communicate with my pc, got 3 new usb cables, no connection, tried different comps etc etc, everything i could find, although i can charge through the connection and access my files, just nothing else like htc sync.
So phone is still useable but cant change any settings at all now, cant even access wigits
I love my desire s and don't want to change it, as i love it and got no money available! imo its the sexiest looking phone still
So what i am asking is is there another way to remove this app?
Hope this is in the correcnt section, feel free to flame me if not.

Are u rooted r s-off? If so u could use some kind of root explorer app and mount system rw then delete the app and reboot, that should get rid of it. Or if ur willing to factory reset in bootloader, just pull battery out for 20 seconds n put back in then press n hold vol down + power, that should get u there even tho fastboot is enabled in settings.

Dont seem to be having success with the battery thing, maybe its just me, im quite a noob with android, im an ios defector and im so glad i did.

Should get u to bootloader, just tried myself with fastboot enabled. Make sure when u put battery back in that u press and hold volume down then press and hold power button (both same time) bootloader should come up.
U know the app lock, is it an app u downloded from playstore? If it is u could open playstore app and uninstall it there.

so, out of sheer curiosity I was playing with some of the on phone options and saw a little deal that said "encrypt storage"..... well long story short I was not aware that you could not UNdo this without factory reset of the phone, so I have been using the phone this way for awhile.. nothing really a big deal, just annoyed having to enter a code every time i reboot the phone, or leave the screen off for >5 min, and have to re enter the code when i turn the screen on.... now ofc when I attempt a factory reset on the phone it self... it doesn't do anything the phone reboots and its the exact same lol, I'm thinking that may be from me having a custom ROM on it.. so I will attempt to wipe data via fastboot/adb CMD... and hope it works...
now that the explanation is out of the way, I am curious.. will erasing the phone data either by on the phone or thought the CMD, will it unroot and re lock my phone? or is that set and not bothered by data erasing?

If you are properly rooted it should not touch anything other than data.
