custom APNs to avoid throttle...maybe - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Here are a few custom APNs to try out if you are being throttled. i had written them down back when i had an atrix and they work in my skyrocket now. 2-4mbps was my average. i am not being throttled yet, but i will be soon because im close to my 5GB so i can try these personally in a few days. The first 2 APNs are my own, the third one i found searching around that supposedly works. i hope at least one of these can feed your need for speed but if these have already been proven not to work.. sorry i wasted your time.

now in order for this one to work you must have visual voicemail installed and running. to check this go into your dialer and press the VVM icon (bottom left) now if its not installed you will be ran through a few prompts and then you will have functioning VVM

Thanks for posting. Though everytime someone does, ATT will follow up and shut down that door.
I tried the first two on SkyICS 4.0.4 and couldn't get any data connection.

The first two apns don't work anymore. Someone already posted about the third apn, if you look few posts below. People especially in an LTE area are having problems with the third apn.

If you haven't crossed the line yet, I'd say it's worth a try to stick with the voicemail apn and see if your usage might not increase.

My speeds after changing APN
I was getting 512 mb with 5 bars on my phone thanks to ATT. (In the DC area on LTE)
I tried the Cingular APN and now I am getting
Ping from 295 to 337
Download from to 1.7 to 2.36
Upload from 1.00 and holding

[Q] Not getting any data connection...

Hey guys im jumping over to the infuse forum to see if anyone may have any information on what may be going on with my moms phone. She has a Stock Infuse not rooted. and just last night she told me that after she rebooted her phone it wouldnt get any data. She could connect to wifi but she wouldnt get any data connection at all. So i went through all the normal stuff, rebooting again, battery pull, toggle airplane mode and nothing seemed to get it to connect at all. She took the phone to ATT today and they did a factory reset on the phone and everything and the phone still would not get data connection, swapped SIM cards, still no data connection. now shes having to get another phone. Does any of this sound right?? any ideas of what could have caused the phone to do this? and if i root and flash a custom ROM do you think i might have a chance at bringing that radio back to life?
EDIT: ATT said it could have been a virus... not sure if that would help either
Thanks in advance guys for any feed back.

it doesnt give me the option to select anything with a green dot. i added the APN settings in the screenshots you posted and then it gave me the green dot selection for just the one that i added and the other two that i mentioned before have no dots and are not able to be selected. even with the added APN settings it still doesnt connect

oh ok, wasnt sure if there was any firmware updates for this phone.

Got Throttled. I got help.

Quick Fix
Just make a new apn and select it and it will work. For the ones that don't know. The PTA apn lets att restrict your speeds. This apn can't be throttled.

Doesnt work for me.
I followed the instructions regarding the settings and after selecting this apn, I am able to make and receive calls as well as access to the web....does this mean I am good to go regarding the ability to avoid throttling? LTE hasn't reached where I live yet but I am trying to read up on issues concerning it.
I noticed another wrote that "it didn't work"....Does that mean phone is pretty much unusable as far as data and calling....
No if u are able to access web and call u are fine. So when u get throttled just switch to this apn and u will not be. I'm not in a lte area but they got me. So I switched and working fine.

Oh btw..I did a speed test and I'm getting 4.5mb download speeds...is that 4g or does it just default to the 4g icon due to my new 4g sim card that I had to upgrade?
The apn worked when I was in a non lte area but when I entered an lte area, I wasn't getting any data signal until I switched back to the default apn in which I was back to yh
Throttled speeds. . Any ideas on how to fix this?

Setting APN to fix MMS issues Bluegrass Cellular Showcase i500

Not sure if this is the correct area to post, feel free to move it.
This is for Bluegrass Cellular Showcase i500. It may also work for other Bluegrass Androids with MMS not sending or receiving.
Once you have installed a custom rom and everything except MMS is working properly. Follow these steps.
1. Open App Drawer - launch voice dialer.
2. Say open A P Ns - should popup Open APNs - select it.
3. Once in APNs - you may or may not have an APN listed - press menu - restore defaults.
4. If you have an APN listed - select it - if not then press menu and add new.
5. You should now see edit access point.

6. Set your settings just as mine are in the pictures above (or text below in case the pictures don't load)
7. Most important, if you want it to save and show up in the list of APNs - DO NOT CHANGE THE MCC OR MNC! IT SHOULD WORK WITH WHATEVER NUMBER IS ALREADY THERE. THIS IS WHY SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE TROUBLE SAVING THEIR APN SETTINGS, BECAUSE THEY CHANGE THESE TWO SETTINGS.

You can manually enter these settings. Go to the dialer and enter##83786633 then hit the home button, open the dialer again and clear what is there, then enter ##22745927, the SPC code is 000000 by default and then you can select to turn hidden menus on. Finally, go to the dialer again an enter ##3282#, and your in the manual data settings. I dont know any of this info, but if you do, please share

I may have the fix for alot of you Bluegrass cellular customers. In my case when I went to mobile networks under settings, There was no APN setting option. I activated a Verizon 4G Galaxy Nexus to my Bluegrass account. I downloaded "offline SIM APN Database" from the Play store. His app lets you input the apn settings even though it doesn't show up in settings. I used all the settings as listed on this thread, but like in my case I had no place to input them. Once you dowload the app (it has to be the PRO), select USA and Verizon. FYI You MUST delete all other APN presets in order for it to work. The app creator is Robert Soult. He is THE MAN!
I just wanted to let you know thanks for this! This helped fix my phone. And I also wanted you to know, I used this to make a script that fixes many MMS problems for Bluegrass Cellular. You can find it here...

Intermitent Data on AT&T Reward: Invite

Hello I have been having a problem with my One plus on my network. Its been taking a while for it to connect to data when accessing my phone on the fly. An example is that if I where to start streaming music from Spotify, between songs it would take a good 20 seconds before being able to start up the next track. This has been happening in all applications.
Im using 4g as my preferred network type, att lte (pta) as my APN,
it does find 2 different att networks when searching for "available networks" but im not sure what the difference there is between the two and there's no extra information on them

Possible Fix
I don't know if this will fix your issue, but I have had a similar problem and it fixed mine. Try resetting your default apn settings in Menu>Mobile Network Settings>Access Point Names. From that window click your menu option again and it will come up as Reset to Default. When you do this it forces your phone to shut off mobile data and re-access the mobile network again. It can take up to 60 seconds for this to complete. Let me know if this helps.
If you live in Washington Baltimore area at&t reports that there is lte data connectivity issues at the moment.
By the way for your apn it should be
1. Name of the apn (anything)
2. Under apn type in phone
3. Mmsc should be: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
4. Mmsc proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
5.
Try this make a new APN
Name: ATT LTE
APN: pta
MMSC:*http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: none
APN type:default,admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri,internet*
APN protocol :IPv4/IPv6 (this setting experimental and is optional)*
(make sure NO spaces after commas)
BEARER: LTE (default is unspecified) play with this one..*
CLICK MENU button and SAVE settings!!!!
STILL NEED STOCK APN-- in APN TYPE:MMS --this helps to insure you get mms better
Hope it helps you can play with the BEARER: LTE
This help me on my Nexus 5 and a friends Note 3
5. Mmsc port 80
6. Mcc and mnc leave alone
Apn type should be : default, supl, mms, hipri
7. Apn protocol should be ipv4

2nd way to get spotify to work better.
I know you may want to be on LTE but if you go back to 3G it will help as will. If are on a ROM that has an LTE toggle turn it off if not do this and see if it works. You would only have to drop back when using spotify. But the above APN should work as well.

First of all what device did you have before the OPO? Second if you came from an iPhone (lol which I hope you didn't) you'll have to get a new SIM card. If you didn't very the IMEI with AT&T I had a similar issue although I was coming from Nexus 5 when it showed 2 networks so I had to get a new SIM card and they have to "provision" and/or send a better signal to the OPO. That fixed my issue and you APN should be automatic but by default it gives you 7 to choose from. Myself I'm using ATT LTE pta and have no issues after switching SIM card and having them "provision" my device. But network operator/available networks should be automatic once you do what I did without having to switch it. Good luk bud!
FYI, not sure if it's dependent on the market of the USA you're in, but I've never gotten the "AT&T LTE" APN to work with any of my Android devices. I've always used the "AT&T Phone" APN. That works flawlessly for LTE signal on AT&T. Again, I'm not sure if you need to switch this depending on your region/market. I'm in the Metro Detroit area.
I've confirmed this with an HTC One X and LG Nitro HD. My last Android phone was a Samsung S4, but I don't recall what the default APN setting was for this phone. I just came back to Android from an iPhone5s and I'm loving it.

Also, the 4.4.4 update arrived today for me and now the Mobile Data menu says "LTE Preferred" instead of "4G Preferred". I'm sure it made no difference in signal but just a menu text change. Also, the status bar at the top now says LTE. Before it used to say 4G, which we all know was actually LTE.

MMS Problems [AT&T]

So I've had MMS problems since getting my OPO. Coming from an S5 so no weird iPhone problems.
I've tried multiple APN settings but here are my current(that don't work):
APN: phone
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Auth type: Not set
APN type: default, supl, mms (I've tried adding hipri in this)
APN Protocol/roaming: IPv4
Any ideas to troubleshoot this? I'm on stock CM11s 33r, I rooted it and installed TWRP. No Xposed or anything else custom.
Using any ad blockers? I had problems with MMS on AT&T using one of them on my last phone. Haven't setup my OPO yet, maybe later today after work if I have time.

I have everything the same in my OPO as well as my OPPO Find 7 with the exception of APN Type, I have default, mms, supl, fota
Good luck
working fine for me with the most up to date version of Hangouts...
also to note, on my AT&T HTC One M8 (that I'm using currently, I left the OnePlus One at home today),
under APN type I have:
default,admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri,dun,att
not sure if that's needed or what is on my OnePlus One, but I'll check tonight.
Thanks guys, keep the suggestions coming. I will have to get a friend to test this out with me
Here are my settings that are working without issue.

And then I dialed *#*#info#*#* in the dialer and changed the preferred network setting to what is shown here:
