Google TV navigation idea

Hey guys, i had a dream where Google TV came out, and it was able to be controlled with xbox wii and ps3 controllers. how cool would that be?
I would solve the issue of having to integrate a keyboard into the living room. and what person would buy a GoogleTV thingy and not have a gaming device. I bet that would be an AMAZING market strategy idea.

Gaming

So yesterday I downloaded Nesoid and a handful of ROMs for my Captivate. I had some fun playing them, but using the on screen virtual keyboard was really hard and it covered most of the gaming action. So I see that the new psx4droid supports wiimote. So I emailed the developer of Nesoid and suggested that he add that capability to his too and that other than that its a great emulator. He emailed back and this is his response
You can use other apps on the Market. But please enable input method in Nesoid settings.

What does this actually mean? Is there another app that I have to download and install first to get the wiimote to connect to my phone via bluetooth?
I dont have a wiimote yet, and before I go buy one, I'd like to know exactly how it works, if it will.
Search for "Wiimote controller" on the market, should work.
You can use a few bluetooth gamepads with android. One being
MSI Bluetooth Gamepad (BGP-100) which is a weird kinda swivel thing. I am going to gut a SNES controller and put the BGP-100 into it. It has been done before and everything seems to fit fine.
There is also another bluetooth controller made for blackberry's that works with android. It is vertical gamepad with a trigger control. Seems pretty nice.
I think you have to buy a market app to get the drivers to make the above 2 gamepads work.
Also as mentioned you can use a wiiremote as a gamepad for android. I have been looking for a wii classic controller + wii combo, so it does not have to be tethered to a normal wii controller to work. I want small and portable bluetooth with a dfecent amount of buttons that is why I am going with the SNES form factor.

Free, although it does say there isn't galaxy s support....so it might not work.
wiimotes currently do not work on the SGS phones because of the bt3.0. not sure on the other BT controllers
Are there any controllers that can be plugged in? Just wondering for flights...
Well I emailed the developer of Wiimote Controller and asked if they could update to support Galaxy S phones. This is there response:
Hello,
thank you for your feedback.
I don't think this will be possible with the current way Samsung's software is handling bluetooth.
Best regards,
Piki

Doesnt sound good for us getting to use a wiimote as a gamepad
Trying to play Nesoid with onscreen vitrual controller sucks, its too hard and I'm afraid of breaking my phone. Every time I get into the game and start tapping A or B rapidly I can feel it flex and creak in my hands.
Just wondering in anybody has made progress on getting a bluetooth controller for the captivate/galaxy s?
Ive been looking into it...and came to a bunch of dead ends aswell :sigh:
Sent from my Vibrant using XDA Ap
Please let me know if anyone finds a controller that works.
Thank you,

Speaking of games...
I wasn't able to find any in the market but I'm rooted so I know I can find games from other sources.
Are there any games like Alone in the Dark (horror genre) or fantasy role playing that would have the same type of graphics you'd see in WoW that I can put on my Captivate?

I am torn in a decision...

So there is a really cool app on the market for ps3 sixaxis controllers that lets you control any game (even ones without gamepad support) with a ps3 controller.
The Bluetooth stack that is included in stock based roms for our device doesn't allow pairing with controllers like the wiimote and the sixaxis....
However cm7 does I Clyde a compatible Bluetooth stack and I can pair it and play Nova 3 with my ps3 Controller.. yet, HDMI doesn't work in cm7 yet... so I can't let my phone just be my game console...
And in stock the HDMI works but doesn't have a compatible bt stack..
Do any devs know how to replace the stock Bluetooth stack???
Sadly we can't make anything
unless LG goes open soucer ... and that is not gonna happen
why? no one knows

Aces of the Luftwaffe updated with SW2 controller mode

Install the game and you get an new app on your watch. Open it while you're playing the game and now you have a tilt controller on your wrist.
Works kinda Meh IMO. Maybe I need to get the hang of it, but the movements seem a tad laggy and umm digital, like not many variations of speed like stoped, slow, fast and faster. Awesome to see this type of support.

Gameplay video. Looks like it works with the smartband too. Kewl.

[Idea] Xperia Play gamepad/touchpad emulator?

Well i just had a thought, a thought maybe all it is as i don't have the knowledge to execute on this idea but.
well my favorite phone back in the day was the xperia play. i loved it built in gamepad while keeping the design small. i loved even more that game and app developers would build around its design implementing support for its gamepad.
but i cant keep the xperia play forever so i got the xperia Z which i love but i still find gaming a bit bulky and artificial. i have a moga pocket. one of the smallest gamepads i know of and I'm still getting use to it but the controls are not perfect axis wise.
so not only for the moga pocket but for any android gamepad in general, making our modern gamepads emulate the xperia plays whole gamepad & touchpads will allow a more native gaming experience. less manual setup and more accurate axis.
just my 2 cents..
