Hi all MTK (MediaTek) android users !!
I'll teach you to mod your boot_logo present in /media/images of you MTK device.
Basics:
--MediaTek android has three boot screens. 1st one is just an image and it is present in logo.bin. But till now, there is no way to mod logo.bin.
--The second screen is also an image. This is image is from boot_logo in /media/images folder. You can change this easily by following this guide !!
--The third one is the boot animation. It is present in /media/ folder and it is of the same type of all android devices. If you want to change, download normal android boot animations with the correct size of your device.
So, here is the guide:
Get a copy of boot_logo from /media/images to your computer. Rename it to boot_logo.bin
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Download Image_Search_Editor.zip from the attachments. Extract it to a folder.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now open Image Search Editor.exe
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Select the file, boot_logo.bin to open.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now select 16 colors from the left side panel.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now click on the BMP button on the toolbar on the top.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now resize the image by clicking : Size --> 'Set Window Size'
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now resize the image to that of your phone's screen size/resolution (example: 320x480)
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now you will see the full image.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now with the help of photoshop or any other tool, open the image that you want to replace. Resize the image to same size of your screen/screen resolution (example: 320x480)
Save the image as a normal bmp image
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now, in Image Search Editor, select: Edit-->Replace by BMP. Select the bmp image that you saved.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now click Apply
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Then, go to File-->Save as BIN. Save it.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Rename the newly saved .bin file to boot_logo and replace it your /media/images folder and reboot.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Voila !!! The second screen is changed !!!
Will try to upload screen shots and a pre-scripted boot_logo flasher which can flashed through recovery !!!
NOTE: If you have completed modding your boot_logo and if you are adding to your ROM or uploading it anywhere, please give a link to this thread.Thanks.
Hit THANKS if you find this useful !!

I sucessfull changed my second boot screen in my Tablet MTK6513. Thanks!
Now i want change the first boot screen (logo.bin). My tablet update it by pressing Vol+ and Power Button, but the file "startup.bmp" need be in the SD Card. I sucessfull update it, but the image at first screen is showed with some distorcion.
How make a correct .bmp to the first bootscreen? How much colors bits it need have? I don´t have the original, because i think it´s kernel level, and i can´t get a copy of it.

Splash Screens are stationary, and do not move. Boot Animations DO move however and are what is displayed after the splash screen.
If you want a custom boot animation, PM me what you are looking for. No promises, as this is not my specialty, but I can certainly give it a shot.

Hey man, for it being "not my specialty", you do some mighty fine work. Any way you could do a variation of "HTC Inspire, Rooted, S-Off" with a blue background? The order they appear isn't important, I just wanted to get those three points in as the text part.
Thanks much!

Hi all.. this is a simple MOD for change the samsung splashscreen.
1- Flash the attached .tar with Odin ( in the PDA field);
2- Now the phone might automaticaly reboot in recovery;
3- Reboot again;
4- Copy your new bootscreen ( must be a jpg and 480 X 800 ) into the folder /mnt/.lfs/ and call it logo.jpg;
5- reboot and enjoy!
I suggest to use root explorer or similar for the step number 4
Bye
P.S.; this might works also with JPKP5 but i'm not sure
HOWTO for DEVS that need this MOD for their ROM:
1- Extract param.lfs from the stock FW;
2- with an hex editor search inside that file for logo.jpg and change all instances in something else ... ( is important that you don't change the lenght ) ex. logo.jpg ---> 0000.jpg than save;
3- pack it into a .tar or add it to your Odin ROM
4- copy the new logo in the folder i said
....in that folder you will find also other image that you can change in the same way.... let's go with the mods!
Awesome
Will try it when i reach home

This might help https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/guide-how-to-create-custom-boot-logo-t3470473
For my EXYNOS samsung s7 edge the boot logo was in a file called PARAM under /dev/block/platform/155a0000.ufs/by-name/.
I opened the file with winrar and found the bootlogo there. Pretty sure other devices especially snapdragon variants wont be the same.
If not, try to look for a working custom bootlogo for your device, and look for update-binary in the zip and open it with a text editor you might find what you need to know there.
Hope this helps.

Check what slot is your current slot 'fastboot getvar all'
Then flash the bin to that slot 'fastboot flash logo_a'or'b logoname.bin'
