Thanks for your patience - Thunderbolt General

Recently I started releasing a bunch of themed apps, I'm new at this and just wanted to say thanks for being patient while I work out the kinks. I figured us thunderbolt users deserve something since development is always delayed by our complex RIL.

Let me be the first to welcome you the the tunderbolt. I look forward to see a new dev and their work. Seems like everyone is caught up on some kind of ICS port and i've seen your start on mixing in ICS and sense 3.6. I personally would love to see someone work-up something similar to virus' synergy ROM but hopefully with a newer android version or perhaps two... one being ICS and the other 2.3.5 or something? Love be able to rock runnymede with the bliss rosie. Whether or not that happens time will tell but again welcome aboard.

Welcome & thanks for adding to the great tbolt dev community

SGS3 VZW Devs.

I just want to say thank you. I seriously had second thoughts on this phone, but not for the same reason as all of the spastic idiots crying of the locked bootloader. It was because of those people period that made me want to get rid of this. The phone isn't even out yet and way too many people have underestimated your ability, whether you chose to make this much progress as a f u to Verizon or all the babies that fled to another phone because they thought you couldnt do anything, it really doesnt matter. For all those that helped and will be continuing to help. Thank you. Thank you. I don't care if anymore progress is made even. The fact that you do what you do for free (as most people seem to forget) deserve thanks as well. Great job!
Sent from my vivow using Tapatalk 2
The thank you actually goes to all devs for any device as well. You all are amazing. If it wasn't for you. I'd be stock

I agree thanks to all the devs including Verizon for development. The phone doesn't launch till Thurs on Verizon and I still am shocked how much was accomplished in one weekend!

I want to add my thanks as well. I understand that you put your valuable time into this work to open the phones to us and allow us to enjoy them in a way that the carriers would never allow if left to their own devices. I have donated to the developers of my favorite roms and kernels and I will continue to do so in the future.
Thank you.

I agree. Thank for the support Design is spent some time in IRC last night and was happy to see the progress

In addition to thanking all the devs for their work, I also want to thank Samsung for seemingly intentionally not locking it down as well as they could have. It's hard to believe that they intentionally require boot.img and recovery.img to be signed to flash in Odin, but not system.img.
Agreed, there are a lot of thanks in order here. The dev community turned my Droid1 from a funky new smartphone (my very first) into a powerhouse that rocked for years and years. The fact that that very same community of developers, testers, and fans is still here, now, on these new devices is incredibly uplifting and makes me feel glad to own an Android.
Here, Here, a Hardy thanks to all for your hard work and time.
Absolutely shout out a huge thanks. I'm going to have to set aside some cash for donations for all this hard work you guys are putting in on this device. Being new to Samsung, I am very excited to see this community headed in the direction it is now.
Awesome work guys!
Bump just to say thanks again

I definitely agree with everything you said. This is an amazing phone without rooting and unlocked bootloader, but that's just icing on the cake. Made this phone that much more better.

^^^+1000 all of the above.
If it weren't for all of the hard work and dedication you guys put into these projects, without expected compensation, many of us wouldn't have the foundation for one of the greatest hobbies ever. It is your efforts that have given XDA a reputation for the most innovative and badass communities on the web, and it is my hope to learn development to be able to contribute to the success of these devices and AOSP, even if only to give back for what I have learned here. You guys rule and thank you

Moving on to the GS3. Thanks for all the support here!!

Hi everyone,
I'd just like to say that as of today I have sold my One S and decided to move on the the GS3. Why? Mainly because I'm looking for something with a better and larger screen. And the fact that HTC doesn't give a crap about development for our phones. The crappy bootloader unlock has been pissing me off, especially since I am on hboot 1.14 and I have to test different ROMs very often, needing to flash in fastboot every time. Without S-OFF, this phone can never archive its full potential, such as repartitioning the nand so that more GBs are allocated for personal use.
But this doesn't mean that I will completely stop developing for the One S. I will continue to update the ParanoidAndroid and AOKP JellyBean until or if they become official. I can't be the official device maintainer though. But the builds will keep coming and shouldn't have any major issues other than the ones in CM10. The kernels, however, will probably remain how they are now because it is nearly impossible to blindly develop and debug a kernel.
Thanks for all the support here; it was TONS better than the Galaxy Player community. I appreciate all the helpfulness and attitude in these forums and what a great dev experience I've had here.
thanks for all your work. I want the gs3 to but can't justify the price

Oh wow unexpected! Hope you'll love your new device! I'm sure you'll be very missed around here.
Glad to hear about AOKP. I really want to use it in the future!
Thanks for your work for the One S!

Oh boy. This is a great loss for the One S community. Good luck with your new device. I know I am never buying a new HTC phone. Either a Nexus or a Samsung.
Thanks for everything. You've been a great dev with an awesome attitude.

Of course. We loose another great member to the GSiii. Have fun, Klin. I hope you keep the ports updated bro! Don't feel shy to stay in the community even though you no longer have the device.
You'll be back .....

Thank u so much and enjoy with your new phone. But now I feel sad, because your kernel gives me sooo goood battery life and a very smooth phone... You didn't make the two cores to be online like the other kernel here.
So what will I do when the jelly bean come to my phone, and some new updates?? I won't have your kernal anymore.
Now there is only one kernel which I prefer not to touch, only because of the dual cores which are always online.
Also there is not much devs here... I don't believe we will see other kernels here.
So you bought a new phone and that's great for you... But I feel that we lost someone very important - you ;(
Anyway, thanks for your amazing work here.

Alright no problem.
Hi Klin, i've been using your kernels and they've been rock solid.
Thanks for everything that you've given to the one S community.
It's a pity that you're leaving, but oh well, no one will be using the same phone forever anyway.
I do agree with you that the half ass unlock is a deal breaker.
Good luck, and i hope you will continue to enjoy development with the GS3 community.
Cheers!
Yeah, you've done a ton for us One S users, but I can't say that I blame you. I'm just holding out for the Note 2

Klin--
I can only echo the replies of my fellow XDA members. You are one of the best devs here and always very helpful.
I too will be moving to the Note 2 in February when myTMobile contract expires and moving to Verizon. Tired of pitiful coverage in Dayton Ohio.
Good Luck
Ken
I heard the S3 is cursed. You should probably get rid of it and get the 1S back. You know, for your own protection.
Just kidding. But seriously, please don't go :crying:

[UPDATED] Attention to all running the LiquidSmooth ICS v1.5 MR3 - please read this

UPDATE 10.21.2012
It looks like MR3 might be the end of the road for Mecha right now, with a huge overhaul in work related to other devices and
Liquid not having enough time and the motivation along with a missing source - This project is at a standstill. Plus, Protekk has been kanging him and not giving him the proper credits in the builds he's been making.
If you're interested in helping develop or helping at all in any way, shoot me a PM and I'll send it onto Liquid and see if he can
get in touch.
Sincerest,
Alex
----------------------------------------------------------------
It seems as if some issues with the signal drops are coming back after long term use - ill see what I can document and get it fixed - as this wasn't present upon first flash, and I am working to get everything documented and sent to Liquid.
Yours truly,
Liquids Mecha tester
sad indeed
That's sad news. I thought minus the front-facing camera issue and the data drops, this rom revived the thunderbolt!
Hopefully another developer with the time and motivation will pick back up on this project... or is there already an improvement in the works?
Thanks liquid!
Check out twisted ics rom he has improved liquids build plus adding aokp and cm10 in to it. Guy has mad skills. Glad he picked up on the bolt again.

Wasn't very nice Dark Jedi lol All in all, I'm happy with Twisted's builds . Don't think the bolt is really going to see much more development. It will be awesome to see jb though, i know its smooth as hell on my N7... Sucks having to buy a new phone at full retail price, or even a decent used one. But I refuse to give up unlimited lol

Gauging interest........

Just wanted to see if its worth my time to port the WVGA version of our Team Venom ViperRom to the tbolt
it will still have wifi issues like any other sense4 port due to the rather crappy kernel and other issues associated with the bolt ics leak...and its unlikely another leak will come to fix anything more
inc2 thread is here for those curious: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953899

k, will make an attempt to fix 4g with existing ViperDHD/INC roms this week
if that goes alright, shouldnt be long until a release, since otherwise the rom is very close to the inc2
