I tried to find solution but couldn't find. the solutions were for different phone and etc. so not sure if that would apply to my case this is why want to make sure will get right fix for the issue
Phone was working fine for a couple months but couple days ago I noticed that I can't take pictures because it can't mount sd card
Well I'm thinking I will restore from backup but guess what I can't because clockwork can't see the sd card so I'm kinda stuck here. I think this is a phone's internal memory card not the micro sd card. Am I right?

Oh well today I had some free time so I sat down and tried to look for fix, turns out it is was external micro sd issue which failed.
Phone was setup to use external card. So after I told phone go and use internal memory rebooted and all good, inserted smaller micro sd card, just to have some additional memory and all is good. So here you go if you will have something similar going with your phone maybe that will help you.
how did you tell the phone to use internal memory? i'm running across this same problem where my external sd card is not being mounted or read

Did your friend mention any problems with the phone? And where did you get the SD card from and where has it been used previously?
You most likely have a number of partitions on the SD card and you can only access the one. Try to repartition the card, there are a number of guides available that can help you do this. You might be able to find some here, or look it up on Google.

I need some help, looked around the forums and cannot find a fix.
I recently updated to 2.3.3 and can't for the life of me get the External SD card to be read while in USB storage mode.
I've also noticed that I have to press the "Turn on USB storage" button twice to just get the Internal SD Card to mount. The first time it shows loading but then does nothing (could be primary issue).
I can see the Internal SD card but not the external. It also seems that when I turn on USB storage and then off, I have to physically re-mount the External SD card to get it to even read it. Anyone have any suggestions?
This is exactly what I had when I upgraded to GB 2.3.3.
I took out sd from my G2X and reformatted on my Mac, then put it back. That solved my problem in my case.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Showcase I500 i was on stock 2.3.5 and i decided to flash a custom rom so i installed newest miui rom for I500 1.12.9 i think.. So my problem is that if i reboot my phone it seems to make the sd card corrupt. which isnt really a problem because i always keep it on. The first time it happened though my phone rebooted on its own and was kind of glitchy. Since then i have had the sd card damaged problem 2 more times but when i rebooted once and once when i pushed files from my computer to my sd card in usb storage mode. i really like this rom but i cant continue to reformat my sd card every couple of days and reload music download album cover redownload themes etc...its getting old... any help would be greatly appreciated. by the way i have tried reformatting with my computer and my phone so i know that wont fix it.

Reformat
Reformat your SD card by right clicking -> properties -> and format it. See if this helps. Also, try using another SD card to see if it is just your SD card or your phone that is bad. Deduce and solve
i have tried all of this reformatting from my phone from my computer every which way i could. i have used my disk management and nothing works. i decided to keep my 8 gb in there it is working without flaw. but both the 16 gb ones just keep getting corrupted. This is weird because when i tried installing miui with my 16 gb sd card it wouldnt work so after pulling my hair out for two days i found a post where someone said to use an 8 gb card to install it and i did and it worked perfectly. i guess this phone rom doesnt like 16 gb sd cards.
Ok so I have a authentic Sandisk 32gb class 10 sd card. I t has randomly started to not mount in my phones. And when it does I will get errors copying data to it and such. I have formatted it in exfat and fat 32 using both the phone utility as well as windows to format it. I even did the full format that takes forever. It seems to mount in windows just fine every time. I can copy files to it with no issues. But both TWRP and CWM give error about can't mount external SD card as does my rom I cam currently running. Does this sound like a bad sd card or is it an issue with my phone? I am 8 days past my return policy on amazon currently and it just now is giving me issues. Please help me trouble shoot this guys. I don't want to attempt an RMA with sandisk if I can fix something phone wise. I flash a lot of roms and such but I HIGHLY doubt that has anything to do with it. I even reflashed my recovery and tried different versions with no luck!

Is it possible for something on my phone jacked up that would make it only work with the 2gb and not the 32gb card? Scans never show a single issue in windows!!!!!!!!!!

What happens if you try the 32 GB microSD card in another phone out of curiosity?
Okay so it is been some months that I am using this phone, there is actually no problem with the SD Cards that I have used in the past few months, I bought this new SD Card(that has problem) in the last 1.5 month/s it worked really well and no problem at all. But in the last 2 days, I restarted my phone(changing sim card) turned it back on, then it did not detect the SD Card, I have tried some things like formatting the phone but it did not fix it, I have tried inserting the SD Card into a card reader and insert in my computer it worked, it detected the SD Card, I then tried formatting it from the operating systems formatting tool, I also tried formatting it with SDFormatter V4.0 but it did not fix it. There was a day when my friend tried to edit voldf.stab file from /etc/ since I want it to be like the External Storage will be Internal and vice versa. That is all the informations I can give and is in my mind right now, you can ask more questions regarding this tho thank you so much for reading and I really need help in here. I cannot figure it out.

My assumptions-
-Faulty SD cage (in case you accidentally slotting in SD card with force)
-Recent change in kernel (I really don't know about kernels, check the other thread)
-Pathogens....( I mean viruses, probably system level that bugs the interference from SD slot to system)
That's my guess. You may try to consult an experienced phone serviceman, or Lenovo Service Center (if your city have one).
