[Q] pls help me "assert failed" when upgrade to 2.3.2 [solved]

hi, my SNS has been ROOTed , the version is 2.3.1, for the google maps navagator can't work in my country reason, so, I also have been removed the original GMaps-5.0 use the System-App-Remover , replace installed the Googlemap-4.6-brut version.
now, here is the problem:
I download the 601kb upgrade file , moved to the sdcard/os, when I chose this zip file to apply from my clockworkmod recovery v3.0.0.5, it's always aborted like the attached image,
I have tried such as
1. remove the googlemap-4.6-brut, download & install the latest GoogleMaps from the market,
2. download the Maps.apk directly, use "adb push Maps.apk /system/app"
all can't pass the recovery process, aborted with such "assert failed ..."message,
PLS help me ! Thanks a lot.

The update script is failing because you have modified system files that it expects to find (specifically Google Maps) in the /system/app directory. Downloading Maps from the Market won't help you, because you have to put a copy that will match the CRC check for Google Maps in the /system/app folder, and the Market download copy goes into /data/app and has a different name, crc, etc.
You need to get a clean copy from a 2.3.1 ROM that hasn't been modified in any way and put it back in /system/app.
You could also edit the updater-script to skip that file... Check out this thread, start reading around post 184 to the end and you should be able to figure it out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=923705&page=19

[Q] Google Maps installation issue

I tried updating google maps today and it kept saying the package was not signed correctly. Upon researching the issue, I decided to delete the Maps.apk and Street.apk from system/app and trying to install from market after reboot. I tried to install and I got the code "unknown error code during application installation "-8"". I tried to move the downloaded apk from cache to system/app and renaming it Maps.apk and rebooting and that didn't work. When I try to hit install, it asks me if the permissions are ok, I hit install and it says application was not installed. I've deleted the com folders and every trace of maps I could find through root explorer to try to start fresh and no such luck. Can anyone help out?
Use the non signed version, it has always worked for me, but don't install it as a regular app, just copy the Maps.apk to system/app , change permissions to rw--r--r and reboot, all the applications should appear...
most like its because the modded rom you flash uses the unsigned version so it can't be updated. If I were you I would have stick with the unsigned version. If you don't want to reflash, you could extract the unsigned map.apk from the rom you flash and manually install it. It SHOULD work.

[Q] Play store gone

I have deleted the play store from my rooted phone. Please suggest a way to get it back.
Earlier, I had replaced the system app (the original android market(backed up)) with the newer play. Today, I deleted the play store apk from /system/app as well as the backup of the original. Now I cannot install the playstore using an apk as it gives an error " Application not installed " after informing that it will replace the playstore(whose apk I have deleted).
I have copied the apk to /system/app. How do I get it to work?
Set permissions
rw-r--r--
Reboot

[Q] Calendar

Someone please help me I deleted the calendar files on my phone using titanium backup thinking I could just use the Google Calendar from the App Store but apparently I deleted a necessary file. I can't find the Verizon s6 system dump anywhere to get the file I need. I found one for some other variant and downloaded the file but it won't let me install the SecCalendar app on my phone it just gets to the end of installation and says "app not installed"

Calendar Storage

My phone is a Blu Pure XL and rooted.
So I guess I made a slight mistake with wanting to get rid of the stock Calendar app because I just disliked it. Maybe should have just disabled it or something instead. I did a factory reset on it and somehow or another the Calendar app reappeared again. But I am still getting the issue where it shuts down because of the Calendar Storage not being installed anymore (Whoops). I looked online elsewhere and cannot find any apk. Help would be nice! I have tried with reinstalling the app as well and that does no good, I am assuming because it has nothing to do with the app, but rather Android itself.
I don't know if there is just that part I can install through TWRP or something? I know there is an apk app in the Play Store, APK Manager Downloader I believe, that allows you to save apks onto your SD card to send to others. Maybe that would download the apk files from the Pure XL calendar app, then it could be uploaded to this page and I could download and install it.
Resolution!
I was able to find a link (download.apks.org/?apkid=com.android.providers.calendar&ver=5.1.1-981c9024fa&server=darkkiller) for Lollipop 5.1+ Calendar Storage APK. Somebody helped me out on Google+.
You need Link2SD and ES File Explorer and the zip file you downloaded from above (DO NOT UNZIP THE FILE)
I saved the zip to my internal storage, opened the zip in ES File Explorer, and installed the APK in the zip. After that you will have a pop up where you can install. So install the Calendar APK.
Once that has finished, head on over to Link2SD and you should be able to find Calendar Storage. Tap on that then in the top right menu select "Convert to system app". You will have to reboot your phone after after that completes.
This should resolve your issues!
If you are running 4.4.4 and need Calendar Storage APK: (download.apks.org/?server=12&apkid=com.android.providers.calendar&ver=4.4.4-a1d45e8141)
