Turning off lights on capacitive buttons below - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had a MIUI ROM that could do this (it had an app that was called NS Tools), but can I do this on AOKP build 37?
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2

Yes, just download it from play store
Think it's the wrong thread your asking in
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA

Download nstools from play store. But the kernel must support BLN/BLD for it to work.

Wrong thread. Should be moved to Q&A thread.
You can use the same app with every kernel which includes backlight dimmer(BLD).

First, I'd suggest finding out where to post your questions. Oddly enough the Q&A section is the place to do it. Please do it in future please.

Sorry, I flashed Matr1x CFS and installed the app, now it's off, thanks everyone

Everything you need to know about ICS kernels in my thread:

See post#3 for kernel features.
Try this one, it's really close to stock and was stable when i used it:

Voodoo Control app already works on the stock kernel, you just need root.

yeah, the app starts sure, but you don't have any voodoo drivers so it won't work
I think the app Voodoo Control Plus (paid) has the ability to load the Voodoo driver on rooted devices

Close to stock is still very very far from being stock. When your stock.

Cleanrom 3.0 compatible kernels?

I can't seem to find a solid answer. I'm running cleanrom 3.0 and can't seem to find a list of compatible kernels. Does anyone have a list of kernels that are compatible?

Just the stock kernel I believe. Sammy screwed up on posting source so we don't have any custom kernels that are compatible with new builds up

the kernel in my sig works just fine.
I already stated it was a mistake. I was browsing in the dev section and forgot to change over. I found a kernel that works. Mods can close this.

Thanx for this, something new. Booting up now. So many roms coming out for the og, its crazy. When my note2 gets retired there will still be roms coming out for this phone lol. Thanks again man.
Edit - Well I flashed the gapps that I use for the other 10.1 roms & they are not there. They are in system/app folder but don't show up in app drawer. Any ideas?

0.3 will be built from source.

Rom has no credits, no screenshots, no explanation of what rom it is, port or source, op is a few lines, no looking to see if permission was given, etc, etc, etc
This all needs to be fixed ASAP or thread will be unapproved until you wish to fix this. Take a look at a few of the established op's around here..... What do they look like? Nothing like this. If you can take the time to build a rom(winzip) then at least take the time to do things correctly.
I am keeping an eye on this thread and looking for either a response or a pm and I don't mean next week either.
Thanks

Hey bro,im not trying to come across as a ****,but we as devs need to respect the rules and show gratitude towards the ones that lead us and give us the tools to do what we do,with that being said,if you need any help, dont hesitate to hit me up here or on gtalk [email protected].

(Q) (SOLVED) Franco alternative with Slide2wake AND Slide2Sleep?

Hey guys, does anyone know of a kernel that is AOSP (not CAF) based and supports Slide to wake but also slide to sleep, and isn't Franco? (I get screen flicker problems using Franco's kernel), thank you all so much!

Yes elementalx however you should just read the kernel threads. These threads are seen as "comparison" or "best" threads so are against the ruled

Thanks! Working beautifully. Sorry, I couldn't find any threads that specifically said they use both. Thanks again .

As mentioned these threads are not allowed on XDA. The question is subjective and whats best for someone else may not be best for you. Try them all out and see which best suits your needs.

sorry for mistake . I thought it' s the right section as Touch control is an application.

You are right, it's a app but , Quest answer section would be a better place but lethargy gave you the answer, touch control app is no longer under developing, you can use a kernel with S2w support.

You could try Bricked kernel (AOSP & stock roms, I believe) or Chaos (CM11), both work well in my opinion.
