CSC file needed - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

I am trying to find the CSC files for my US 6210 to hopefully alleviate some problems. I am trying to fix an error in recovery that is bugging me while also trying to figure out battery drain but that is in another thread.
So if someone could point me to the CSC file that would be great as I have been searching for quite some time.
Also is it even possible to find such a file?

Is the error in recovery something like this: "Can't access to /system/csc/XAR/system" ?
Sent from my GT-P6210

That is pretty much the error if not the exact error I am getting.

Ok, I have that too and have wondered what it is. At least it doesn't cause any problems for me, and I don't remember having seen the recovery without that error.
Here is a thread about the error on S II, and some seem to consider it normal...

Well, now that I think about it... What if someone packaged up this XAR folder (if they even have it) and maybe we could try putting it on our Tabs to see if it makes any difference? Or does every owner have this error and it's nothing to worry about
This is one of my two problems currently with this Tablet. I sent it into Samsung for them to fix two other problems only for them to fix one of them and ignore the other.

I read that some just made empty folders with file explorer to the path it wants and that fixed it, so copying the XAR folder could at least remove the error text in recovery.
I don't know if every owner has this or does the error even cause anything bad...
Sent from my GT-P6210

Well you could be correct and it may not be anything bad. I am just trying to diagnose another problem ( seen here )
Getting this one problem fixed may help my other problem, it may not but it's worth a try in my mind.

Please please please help me upgrade my MDA...

I've searched and searched to find a post that tells me straight to the point how to upgrade my MDA but I just can't find one.
I've got the XDA Developers FTP loaded up in FlashFXP but there seems to be a lot of empty folders on it.
Can someone please tell me if there is a guide on here of exactly what I need to do to upgrade the unit? I followed some advice to fix my Bluetooth problems on here and now my whole MDA has stopped functioning properly... the Today screen just shows all strange graphics etc but I still have the upper and lower menus.
If there is no guide, can someone please tell me what I need to do... my business relies on my MDA!

Maybe there is a solution: someone else had the same problem (I think, he also had a corrupted Today screen), but after he chose a different picture in the today screen the problem is solved.
Not good about the files Whoever it is has just cost me an awful lot of money so I hope they feel great!
Screen issue is now solved thnks to the picture thing but my Bluetooth will not function at all now... was asking for me to turn flight mode off when it wasn't even on and now it doesn't work full stop.
ok this a small guide i made for a friend..... i'll post it here
ok first thing to do is get the ROM file.
second... after you download the file... extract the zip into any
place you want you will end up with an .exe file... right click on the
exe file and choose extract ( not you need winrar to do that) and
after you extract you will find a bunch of files one of them is named
ROMUpgradeUt.exe or (MaUpgradeUT.exe) replace this file with this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=4022
after you replace the above file, double click on it and it will start
upgrading ... the device will go into bootloader mode (black screen
with Serial 1 written in it) you will get the country error ID
((((DON'T PANIC)))) and DON'T REMOVE THE DEVICE FROM THE USB OR REST
THE DEVICE, just click Exit to finish. while the deice in the bootloader
mode click on the replaced file and run it again the upgrade process
should go fine................
i will try later to do the guide in a pdf format with pix and more detialed
Okay guys I'm new here too Since I want to get rid of the pink t-mobile stuff and upgrading to a ROM which provides me better camera quality I would like to try a newer ROM version.
But where to get the newest ROM from ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Magician/ ? I see extened ROM's but I have been told an extended ROM is a kind of addition to a normal ROM. But where can I find the basic ROM. I've been told that O2 and Qtek roms are the best.

Trying to flash a ROM to a7272 phone

Hello all,
I have a7272 Chinese phone and I accidentally deleted Google Contacts. Since I cannot reinstall it, I have to flash a new ROM.
Although the members here are brilliant, and I could find a lot of information here, I've been sitting a day and a half trying to solve my problem.
I managed to install CWMR by following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1825722.html- worked perfect.
I tried to flash this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25575846&postcount=88 (I also need Hebrew in my phone), but I get error 16008 in SP Flash Tool, something about the partitions size.
Where can I find a suitable ROM for my phone?
I'm really frustrated :crying:.
Can someone help me please?
Wait isn't it just and android phone? How come you just don't find the APK file for Google Contacts?
Anyways with some research it seems that the partition tables are different in your phone or the recovery image isn't the right size. In the comments of the post Leonid says to do this "pressing the ::: (Format) * Auto Format Nand Flash -> Format whole flash except Bootloader and NVRAM Bin Region => OK
information is from here
http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.com/2011/10/mt65x3-flashing-tutorial.html
and if that doesn't work go here http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.com/2012/04/creating-rom-dump-of-your-mt65x3-device.html
Hope it helps, but try to find the APK File first.

It's not just contacts.apk, but maybe ContactsSynch and so. I still haven't found a proper way to reinstall this app, nor to flash my phone.
I saw that remark of Leonid, but I'm afraid that forcing this flash will do more harm than it is now. I didn't find any approval of this method anywhere.
MTK_Rom_Studio, for some odd reason, generating the scatter file with MT6516 in it's name, while my phone is 6573. This is strange.

I gave up on the flashing idea. I said to myself I'll try to replace the missing apk's. Jhpianist, I saw that solution somewhere else already, and it somehow got to me that I can find the missing system apk's in one of the cooked ROMs I downloaded here.
Anyway, now I can sync my contacts and I'm able to dial or getting into my contacts, only through a third party app I had to install. Once I click on the original Contacts or Dial, I get the error "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly". No matter what I did, clearing the app cash, restore to default... nothing helped.
The guy who posted the solution, for reinstalling Contats.apk, said that one need to install the app once it's in system/app folder, in addition to changing its attributes. But I got a massage that the application wasn't installed once I tried.
How can I get rid of the stupid error? I feel I'm really close...
Thanks everyone :good:

4.3 help!!!

I have an N8013 and I have been trying to go to 4.3 for a while. Like illusion rom... i've tried cwm a few versions even the latest, twrp, and even philz recovery as recommended and I even deleted the updater scripts as recommended. I for the life of me can not get past the zip file failing to flash. I've downloaded the rom multiple times, used odin to go back to completely stock, factory reset.... just about everything. There is one other dude tellin me to do this....
"I have a N8013, and deleting the assert and getprops works for me 100% of the time. However, it is important to note, two things. One you have to have the N8013 version of the ROM, which is labeled N80xx, and 2, when you go to install it after you have modified the file, you will get a validation error because the zip file will no longer match the MD5 validation, you have to install anyways. Other than that it works fine on my N8013, using CWM 6.0.3.1, running official CM 10.2."
But I dont know exactly what file he is talkin about. If ANYONE can help me out with this id be forever grateful.
First thing first. I'm guessing from what you don't understand is the MD5 validation.
So let me try to explain it. Doing an MD5 check, is basically checking the fingerprint of a file to the fingerprint posted. You get an MD5 sum by running it though a MD5 hashing program. Someone that knows the terms better then me will probably jump in and correct my terminology. But the best way of saying it is that by comparing MD5 sums, you are able to see if a file is unaltered.
Second, you'll want to make sure the file you download is compete and uncorrupted. So you run it though the hasher, and get the MD5 sum to check it against the posted numbers.
For "Illusion-v2.5.alpha-UNOFFICIAL-n8013.z" the MD5 Sum is: 95eb24cadc1a7721934a508e3ce97212
For "Illusion-v2.5.alpha-UNOFFICIAL-n8000.zip" the MD5 Sum is: 7789f71ca54647b43c352837702795a3
Now as for a hashing program, if you are on Windows, I would suggest a program called HashTab. http://implbits.com/
It puts the hashing into a tab so you can just right click the file, click Properties, and then "File Hashes"
So for the next thing that you need to do to make sure everything is good, is to check the MD5 sum of the file you download (unmodified) and make sure it is a good download. If all of that is good, then something else is going off.
I will note that right now I'm running the n8000 version on my n8013. Yes there are reasons I do that, even though the GSM hardware isn't in place. But using the n8000 version makes use of VoIP phones much easier.

Wow, thank you sir. No one has ever explained it to me like you did. I honestly appreciate it. I have a PC running windows 7 and I also have an iMac for my music. Not saying I completely understand how to do what your telling me but it puts in to a much greater perspective and for that, thank you. I know something is going wrong. This isn't my first rodeo but I definitely don't know how to change stuff around or dissect it yet. I started rooting and modifying about a year ago. Im a tech so in interests me. But I don't all that much time to dissect yet or understand what your saying exactly. I guess I just need a good download. Maybe I'll try the N8000 version instead. I don't care about the GPS and I use VOIP a lot more than I would GPS. I'll try that I guess. But thank you for the great response and for taking a moment to help a fellow androidian out.
Thought:
Could it be that im downloading the rom to my iMac, transferring to my pc via flash drive thats corrupting it somehow? I dont have hemidal or samsung drivers on my imac but it seems to download the files faster thats why im doing that. But when it finishes its a folder not a .zip so I transfer it to my pc and compress it with 7zip.
I think other people are getting the same error tho as well so maybe not..

Well to start, would be to download the Hashtab program and install it. That gives you easy access to the MD5 sums that you'll need so you can verify downloads.
Now on your Mac, I can only tell you how to do it from the command line. Open up a terminal window and type in without the quotes "md5 filename" replacing filename with the file you want the MD5 sum for.
Hashtab is a nice user friendly version, but it is a 3rd party program. Some people don't like those. So your choice there.
I can also tell you of the only real problem I have had so far with the Illusion Rom. Bluetooth Tethering doesn't work. Now what I mean by this is using Bluetooth on a Cell Phone to give Data to the Note is problematic. DHCP doesn't work til launched manually, and DNS servers don't work. So as long as you don't use Bluetooth Tethering for your Note you'll be fine. But if you use Bluetooth tethering ( a small group of people I know) might not want to upgrade quite yet.

Now this explains the entire problem... Your Mac is unzipping the file, and probably destroying some of the symbolic links. Rezipping it still leaves the broken links and causes problems. I don't remember how to tell OSX (Mac) not to auto unzip files. But you'll need to do that or download it on your PC.

From how it sounds your Mac is auto-unzipping. You want the Mac to leave the downloaded zip file & leave it alone. Not to unzip & rezip it up. That is what is causing trouble, the unzipping and rezipping more then likely. So disable the "expand archives". Doing a quick search try reading up on it here to get Safari to behave. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1483114?start=0&tstart=0

Just needed that key piece of info. That you where rezipping the file after using your Mac to download it.
Hope it installs this time around. But I would suggest learning how to check the MD5 sums as well. Doesn't hurt to be careful.

I just downloaded the rom on my pc and its doing what it was before. I try putting the zip file in to my internal sd on my tablet and it says "CAN NOT COPY ITEM, The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected"
It has not I can assure you. I've tried rebooting the tablet and pc when this happened before and still with no avail. I can copy other files to my tablet no problem. I've never ran into this before.
I cant even open the zip file or extract it to my desktop right now. Seriously, what the hell.
says windows cant open it cause the file is invalid. Must be that MD5 thing your tellin me to do. So now That im doing it on my windows pc should I install that program you mentioned?

I've had that problem before with windows. Not sure exactly what causes it, my guess is some data on the usb connection is causing it. Wrong driver or something.
When it happens changing USB ports, sometimes helps. Or you can use ADB to copy the file over. Not sure if you have used ADB before or not. The third way is to pull the Micro SD card out of your Note, and use an adapter (SD to USB) to put the file directly onto it from windows.
Only options I can think of off the top of my head for that problem. But it is one I've seen before.

Great ideas! I can try the sd one tomorrow. Day 3 lol. Wish Me luck
I may have missed this part, so I apologize. Is there any reason you can't just download it directly from the tablet, saving it to the sd card? It would assuredly cut down on the headache and potential file corruption during transfer between devices.

Already got cm10.3 up and running. The developer gave me a nightly build that had all the files taken out already. Had to download it twice but got it after putting it on my internal memory. Thank you for your help. The note 10.1 has a good community of people.

[Q] Invalid file package error

Lately this error appear a lot in my cm10.1.5. Do you know any way ti fix it? I ask to start trying every solution you post, even that I have already tried a lot of possible ways (all of them wrong) Thanks
As a last resource you could always wipe all your partitions and reflash the ROM.
I never got such an error though, so I don't know what your are talking about. Maybe with you could post some log file about the error, it would be easier for the people here to help you with it.

Where there is a will, there is a way, you just aren't willing. That is your failing, not ours.
Oh, you mean you are lazy and it isn't convenient enough for you? You may as well have said "because I don't want to" or "because I don't feel like doing it". I'm pretty sure that creating problems that you aren't prepared for is not convenient either.
The fact that you attempted to modify gps without making a TWRP backup and without first downloading your stock firmware before you made the modification tells me that you did not even try to prepare for potential problems before you made the modification. If you had properly prepared before making the modification, you wouldn't have to be here asking for the files that you need. If you aren't willing to be prepared before modifying your device then you shouldn't be modifying your device. Don't be lazy and don't expect everyone here to cater to your desire for convenience.
Lack of storage space? You have an S10 don't you? I'm sure it has at least 16GB of internal storage and also has an external sdcard slot, so storage space is the least of your issues. Long extraction time? So it isn't convenient, big deal. Long download time? Having a copy of stock firmware is very important, regardless of how long it takes to download.
I'm willing to bet that the gps.conf is not the only thing or the last thing that you will attempt to modify, this means that somewhere along the way, you will probably attempt to modify something else and cause another issue. If you download your stock firmware NOW, you will have what you need if something else goes wrong. Besides, what are you going to do if you corrupt your device to the point that the stock firmware must be flashed in order to fix it? Also, modifying devices without having a PC on hand to fix potential issues is not very sensible, get a PC or at least find a way to have access to a PC when needed.
Downloading your stock firmware for the files you need now or the files you may need in the future will save yourself and all of us the hassle of finding/providing what you need the next time you screw up. Save yourself the trouble and download your firmware, the fact that you "don't want to" doesn't matter. If you had downloaded it, you would already have your device fixed by now instead of still waiting for someone to do it for you. I'd say that is more convenient, wouldn't you?
The point is, you can do this for yourself, if you want your phone fixed, get busy.
