I bought Choice Dialer for my Sensation about a year ago and it worked great for what I needed it to do. But it doesn't work with ICS and the developer has stated he has no intentions of ever supporting ICS.
Have others found any voice assistants out there that work with ICS and perform two things:
1) bluetooth activation - tap the BT headset to make it spring into action
2) voice confirmation - if I tell it to "call Dave at home" it will respond with "Call Dave at home?" and wait for my response.
Thanks for any suggestions.
vlingo i believe does them and more mate

You're right, it does seem to listen to voice commands given over bluetooth. That's a good start. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to do hands free confirmation. When I set it to never auto-call it simply displays the person's number expecting me to manually touch it to complete the call. I don't trust the "Call if confident" setting.
Here's what I would like to see happen:
me: (tap the headset)
phone: May I help you?
me: call Bob at work
phone: call Mom at work?
me: no
phone: Try again
me: call Bob at work
phone: call Bob at work?
me: yes
phone: Ok, calling
phone: (calls Bob at work)
See? Totally hands free even when a name was interpretted incorrectly at first. That's what Choice Dialer gave me and so my search continues for a replacement.

The major problem that I've read about in a few phone call recording apps is the recording of the incoming voice.
I have "phone control" app on my sons phone to monitor his texts and incoming phone calls and if he's in a loud place I can only her his voice. So unless ur on speaker phone this or any other phone call recorder will not record too well.

Bro....poor kid.

EZ boys.... he wanted it cuz he's to tempted.
He's trying to stay sorta on a good track since hes very gifted in football at mission Viejo high school in California.
He had to many friends who F'd off and ruined their scholarships cuz of the extra curricular activities. So he figures the extra awareness will give him a better conscience.
And it only started cuz he did screw up... royally! And no details needed if u remember ur old days!
Then the coach gave him a new view of reality .... his future ..... he's either "in or out", its either a scholarship to a major football university or at a junior college. So he wanted "in" and wanted help.
So if ur into football, then u will know his high school is always nationally ranked so they get colleges watching all the time and they're games are on TV or streamed on FOX sports especially since they're latest quarterback Mark Sanchez is an alumni.
So u say "poor kid" or "let him live"... we do.... but he's the smart one who knows he needs the extra help.
So he's back on track and getting offers left and right!
Thank God for making him the smart one. And thanks to the dude who made the "phone control" app

i've a cyanomogenmod 7 ROM on my Htc Desire and this application doesn't work.... can you help me??? i need it!
Has anyone found, or is anyone working on a true call recording solution for the inspire as they have done on the desire?
Auto Call Recorder in the Market does this. Works very well. I use it to make prank calls. haha.
I was hoping for a true 2-way recording solution (non-speakerphone based) for the inpire as skvalex and avs333 have done this for the htc desire.
I also would be interested in this. I had a couple of roms for the Captivates that worked 2 way perfectly. Nothing that I have tried works properly for 2 way on the inspire.
avs333 will see to it after a DHD with the same chip is obtained!
Call Trunk has an Android app that works on the inspire. Easy and quick, cloud-based, keeps the call saved and available forever, free for the first 25 minutes. Contact me at [email protected] for more information.
I would like to see one built into the phone.apk like they did it on the captivate

cant wait!
I just asked the guy how he records the calls, he said he put voice recorder on the home screen and just opens it while on a call.
Voice Recorder does, in fact, record audio from both sides of a conversation from within the phone. No speakerphone setting required. Just takes a small amount of time to set up while in the call.
patches and programs will be posted in next few days!
Hi, please see this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048182 I just started.
I just tried the stock Inspire 4g kernel now, and found that my patch suits well for it.
If you have that kernel, please post your /proc/config.gz here so that I'd be able to make a correct update.
If no, please contact the maker of that kernel and ask him to apply my patch to it.
Thank you avs333! Will start testing now, and will post the results. Can't thank you enough!
If you have a Senation already....
Just wondering if a Call Recorder app will work with the Sensation..?? I currently use the SPB Recorder on my Winmo TP2 to record and play back calls and it is a lifesaver with client calls (my memory is bad!)

Really would like to know before getting a Sensation as this is a very useful feature to me. Sorry if this has been covered, but would appreciate any specific info for call recording (not off the speaker). Appreciate it if anyone has the knowledge or wants to try it out....
Cheers to all.
I tried out "2-way Call Recorder Free" and it did record both sides of the conversation. Speakerphone was off too, so it's apparently working correctly.

Thx for that.
Curious though, does it record well and 'without' the loudspeaker on?
In other words, does it record both sides of the call without an issue - there are other reports saying it needs to turn the loadspeaker on to work.
Please be kind enough to give some more details for all who are interested.
Cheers
both apps do not work for me...
the total recall made my phone go crazy..wouldnt record anything, couldnt hang up, then once I hung up the phone still thought I was on a call and the screen kept going on/off everytime I moved it...not good.
The other one (2 way call recorder) worked, but forced speaker phone. also, not good.
Any other options? I have a feeling Sense and the HTC dialer is part of the issue here..

I think this is what u may want
Androrec call recorder
It records both sides of the conversation, without having to put it on speaker, AND it starts recordings automatically.
All I have to do is periodically go into my SD card and wipe off non-essentials to save space.
And, before I get asked, I have no idea if I have S-off phone or not. I have no idea how to check, but guess have no need to, because my sensation does everything I want it to...
Thank you, I will try it.
AndroRec didn't work for me on the Sensation... could barely hear the other side.
Looks like Sensation is one of those phones that doesn't work well with the recording apps.

Anyone else care to cast some light..?
Using the stock povided kernel with the UCKI4 leak I have sucessfully recorded incoming and outgoing call with both voices. Most apps only worked with the speaker phone on but this seems to work internally. Have not checked to see if it is a battery hog yet either. I got it from one of the I1900 roms I was playing with and I think it is still on the market also?
I take no credit for the app or the rom. Just that I found that it does work. Testing has been limited so please also post your results if you do try it......

Nice to know I am not the only one from the great white north
thank you, ive been looking for something similar to this, i like how you can make it incognito and you dont have to see it running all the time.
I have a couple of companies that keep calling me after repeatedly asking to have me taken off of their call list so NOW i will record it and save a couple of them and if they dont stop i wil forward them to my lawyer! In the state of Texas only one person in the conversation has to know the call is being recorded to be legal. (obviously i know i am recording my own calls) now if someone uses my phone and they do not know about the app on there i would not legally be aloud to use the conversation in court. (as per my lawyers information)

OK so this modem does in fact work with call recording. Awesome! I tried for weeks to get an app to record the digital input from the other caller to no avail not realizing that the modem was the issue. However this app you posted does not (for me anyways) record anything but the audio coming over the speaker. What is working for me on the digital recording front is an app called total recall. It has an auto feature that finds the best recording setup. Option 3 or 4 worked best for me. But it does record both sides of the conversation without using the speaker.
EDIT **
Looks like only outgoing calls work properly. On any incoming call the caller cannot hear me until I go click speakerphone twice, and then recording uses the microphone, meaning is does not sound very good.

Any updates for call recording? I use the MIUI port 2.1.6
There is an icon for "record" in the dialer but it is greyed out.
I live in the state of Indiana where, as long as one party in a conversation is aware, either phone calls or personal conversations can be recorded. So it's 100% legal.

Hi. Came across this site and been going through it and love what I see. I enjoy this call recording. Works well on my Infuse 4g. Thanks
Are there any updates on this? Do I have to root and load a custom rom? I have tried the app and it seems that no matter what app I use, when it starts the call, the other party can't great me until I do the speakerphone on then off trick, but when I do that the quality of the recording is pretty much gone. Have to transfer it to computer and put the columns at like 500% to great anything.

I'm not sure about your phone. I see that you are on Roger's. I'm assuming that it is 2.3.3.
If you are still stock, I would suggest calling Roger's support.
I'm using modified unofficial firmware (MUF), rooted deodexed 2.3.6 UCLB3. Once I downloaded and install the apk, it runs in the background. Every time I made a call, it is recorded in a sound file. It sounded fine to me.
Anyway, sorry I can't help more.
If anyone wants a kinky recorded phone call, let me know. I'm selling them for $1 per download. It features Bigjoe using the Note, oldbbman using the SG3 and THE AMAZING JESSICA WABBIT on the Infuse, running AEON. Sorry folks..no videos available.
Hi all,
Is anyone use this tablet as a phone. I have installed VOIP and able to dial out but only able to talk to the other person using the build-in microphone, which is not too good (echos and not good with a noisy environment) and was unable to use bluetooth. I just wonder maybe the tf700 only likes certain bluebooth type. If anyone able to use bluetooth to talk please let me know the model number. Thanks
i use it sometimes to make calls. get a wired headset, download an app called Grooveip, and start using google voice. free calling. also download the google voice app to text. this only works for us and Canada numbers. the one con i found is that there is no picture mail option, but its not that big of a deal

OK, Thank you.
I've been using tablet talk. I use it mostly for texting, but I believe I saw the option to call added recently.
I'll try that option and I'll let you know what the quality was like (if you're interested that is)
Of course this makes use of your cellphone, so it's not a VoIP solution.
