[Q] WP7 Bluetooth Functionality

I would really love to use a WP7 as my main phone. However I have 2 deal-making requirements:
1) Bluetooth DUN profile
I have a Mercedes Comand Online in my car which requires Bluetooth DUN capability, From what I've seen, even the Mango update won't address this? I assume there can't be any 3rd party apps available due to lack of APIs?
Even the Blackberry supports this functionality.
2) Wifi Tethering
For me, it is staggering how the WP7 doesn't support this and I haven't read anywhere in the Mango updates that WP7 will support wireless tethering. Again, is there any possibility that this will be possible?
Android and IOS allow these functionalities via jailbroken or unlocked software. For me, if WP7 is serious about making headway into the market, Microsoft need to cater for gaps in the market.
2) Wifi Tethering
Actually this will be available in Mango but as a hidden feature , Soon we will know how to enable it.
The first one is up to MS to make as nothing can be done to change any core functionality of this OS
Thanks, Wifi tethering sounds promising. Particularly if you can use it in stealth to stop carriers from charging you extra for tethering.
You can do this on IOS with Mi-wi or PDAnet.
As for the bluetooth issue, I just hope Microsoft get their act together but it doesn't sound like it will happen anytime soon! Do you know if Bluetooth PAN is / will be supported?
2) Wifi Tethering

Yes, it's included into MANGO update.
But it need proper drivers with internal support;
HTC WP7F doesn't have such drivers for now.
It seems they built in such kind of support inside driver in HTC WP7S (Omega, Entitle) but there also used new BCM4330 seems. So it's not very backward compatible with BCM4329.
1) Bluetooth DUN profile

There also some drivers was added in MANGO, but they are unused seems for now.
Worth noting that Bluetooth access is probably possible using native DLLs. The APIs are still there, and if you have a WinCE dev kit you can code against them.
Currently we can't use homebrew native DLLs in Mango, but Heathclif74 says he's got a way to fix that. This would mean you could run any code you wanted to, even in Mango.
I think you should add this app into settings (I'm going to do it myself later, but maybe it would be nice feature for everyone? )

[Q] [PC] Recovery

Hi all,
lately I installed youwave on my pc and experienced that one can really use whatsapp to chat with other users which have an actual android/iOS/windows/etc device. Next I tried to install android to my pc using VirtualBox, but when I installed whatsapp I got a message "unable to identify your device" which is understandable. But then I started to wonder, how could youwave get the job done where VB did not? After trying to install some other versions of android to my pc I figured that you couldn't install your own apps but only the ones which were in the preset app market. For example there was no OI Filemanagement which is there in the real app market. The best thing about youwave was that one version of whatsapp didn't work, but then I downloaded the newest version from whatsapp.com and it worked fine. I realised and tested that this would not work in my VB version of android.
I'm not a real hero with porting and virtual stuff, but now I'm trying to understand how youwave works in this. And my question for you here is, is it possible to achieve what youwave does myself with VirtualBox? If yes, how would I do that?
When I think about it I think you must achieve some of the following:
- Make VB think your pc is a HTC Sensation (in my case);
- Install the clockworkmod and rom manager to your virtual Sensation.
- Make a backup of your real phone in recovery mode and use this backup to recover your virtual one.
- Then someway, share your PC's network with your phone by making it think it has a wireless network in range?
- Install the newest whatsapp (which worked in youwave)
You'll probably think why the heck doesn't he JUST use youwave. There are several reasons, the most important one is I do not have a creditcard and do not even want to spent a lot of money just to whatsapp on my pc for fun. Besides I want to understand the proces of porting android to your pc and using it like it was a real phone, like with the google addon etc. And I don't like the UI of youwave.
So, if anyone knows if any of this is possible, I would appreciate your help. I think I saw someone somewhere talking about porting a backup of his phone to his PC but I can't remember where. I'm not asking you to come over to me and install everything for me but I just like an explanation where to start and what my possibilities are.
Anyway thanks for your attention.

[Q] Any WP7 Device as wifistick for PC´s

So here is my request and pleed:
Please create anyone an app which is possible to change the WP7 Device into a wifistick,so that you can connect your pc through your Phone to your wifi, this would be absolutely great, and if it is not possible to create an app for me and all the guy´s who have requests for this missing feature because of time,or other reasons than impossibility then please tell me anyone of you how the code must work, which api´s and so on i´ll need so that i´ll be able to create such´n app by myself, because i´ve visualstudio and can do some programming
thx for any answer
What Phone do you have ? Is it unlocked ?
The app "Mango Webserver" (in dev & hacking sub-forum) can already kind-of do this, because you can uload files using your web browser, then download them later on another computer.
If you want to create an app that is dedicated to the purpose, the first questions would be how do you want the PC to see the phone (using a browser like Mango Webserver app, or using a dedicated program, or what) and do you want this to be a marketplace app, or is using unofficial APIs OK?
So i have an unlocked Omnia 7(fullyunlock + interop(it is really interopunlocked believe me,don´t ask)) ,the way i want to use it is like a wifistick/modem or so,if it is unofficial or not therefore doesn´t interest me,but i thought that it eventually would be able to get this feature for more devices,so that it would have some more attention as only for samsung devices
so thx again for any answer
Hmm sorry, I misinterpreted your request. You want to use the phone as a WiFi network interface for the computer. ("wifistick" doesn't mean anything to me; never heard the term before.)
I don't currently know of a way to do that. You can use your phone to connect the PC to the Internet (using wired tethering), but that just turns the phone into a cellular modem. To do what you're asking, you'd need to either bridge the WiFi and ethernet-over-USB connections, or you'd need to set up Internet connection sharing between the WiFi and USB (like the official "Internet sharing" feature, except that one is between the cellular radio and the WiFi).
Yeah thats what i mean, but i think it must be possible anyway, because for wm devices that was available and also for androidphones such a function is available, why shouldn´t it work with wp7 devices?
Oh, it's possible. You'd need to use native code and probably need to have more permissions than a normal app allows, though. Just because an OS *can* do something doesn't mean that the software to do it is available.
I already listed the two most reasonable approaches to doing it. I'm not sure if WP7 supports connection bridging, so the first might not be possible. The second certainly is, though.

Remote to Android to Andoid

Hi
One of my Android Tablet Touch doesn't work well so I want to install an app that I can remote from my Android Phone. I don't use Teamviewer because it work only with internet connection. Does anyone have a good idea?

Remote control of Android device

Hi, i need to have the remote control of my Lenovo tablet (now there is"LC" firmware changed).
I noticed that through Teamviewer, even if I installed a proper add-on for Lenovo, my tablet is listed in my devices list and when you try to connect it the connection is aborted.
I don't know why.
I tried to use Logmein but it seems that you can't access an Android device.
Something else or trick is good acceptable!!!
Thanks...
