Rom EVO 3D for sixaxis controller - General Questions and Answers

Does someone know which rom for HTC EVO 3D GSM works with sixaxis controller?
I'd like to flash my smartphone with Virtuous Shooter 3.0.5, does it work with sixaxis controller?
Thanks!

No, it dont works, like any other sense rom in any sense based htc phone.
The bad stuff is that even aosp's rom i ve tried so far still dont have proper bt drivers to support the damn sixaxis controller...
All previous htc phones i owned (htc desire, desire hd, sensation) after flashing an aosp rom, sixaxis was working properly.

[Solved] Bluetooth Game Controller?

I Know there are a lot of threads for Game Pad Controllers out there what i am wondering is if any of you have one that you use for the Inspire. I am looking to get one and while there is not much selection for android bluetooth game pads i want one to work with the emulators (FPse, N64oid, TigerNES, SNesoid, ect). So how about it any of you have any experience in this?
I have found out that you can use a Zeemote with android but i don't know if it works with inspire. i am looking for something more along the lines of a ps2/3 style setup in a controller cause that is very easy to hold for many hours on end.
UPDATE: I have purchased a zeemote to try will update when I receive and test it out.
UPDATE2: Have received said js1 joystick. Seems to work so far. Am going to fiddle with this and write a review!
MOD: I probably need to move this to the accessories threads now. Thanks!
WOOHOO!! it does work. I am using a Zeemote JS1 On the HTC Inspire 4g without Root. So far so good! I have used it with FPse, SNesoid and Tiger NES so far. Will test it out with the N64oid this afternoon! Using a free software that connects via bluetooth called Bluez IME software to connect. It was fairly simple just following the instructions. Will try and post videos when i get my hands on a camcorder.
Anyone heard of the one that uses the Wii controller?
Sent from my fast / stable HTC Inspire 4G
There are several that use Wii controller but if you have HTC.sense it won't work (ie stock Rom) HTC didn't include hid devices in their Bluetooth driver/stack. So unless you root you can't use a Wii controller. Not that I have found out. The guy that wrote the driver I mentioned above is working on getting Wii controller working with his driver. At that point it would be a great thing to have if u use your phone for games!
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Some Chinese guy had remodified a PS1 controller which he is selling on Taobao (kinda like a Chinese ebay) for about 25 USD. I got myself one about a week ago and am working at the moment with the bluez-ime developer to get it working on Android. It works so far with FPse, which you can see on the crappy video that I just took. Maybe I should start exporting these controllers ;-)

Wii Controller?

Hi all, I was just wondering whether Sense 3.0 supports connecting Wii Remotes through apps like WiimoteController? I know Sense 2.x had issues (only got it to work on my Desire through CyanogenMod), but realised that it would be useful to use alongside the MHL adapter I'm planning on ordering...
I will be finding this out soon because I already ordered the phone! lol
Doesn't work. Search in the this or the General forum, someone else tried it.
well thats just dandy! wtf is htc sense and/or wiimote app thinking? lets get this working! who doesnt want to play mario on their new sensation? I mean seriously!
Has something to do with the bt stack
Sent from my HTC Sensation
I haven't got a wii, so I couldn't try a wiimote.
but I could connect my MSI BGP100 bluetooth gamepad easily to my Sensation using bluez IME (but bluez ime doens't support wiimote, just zeemote and others)
I thought if the wiimote didn't work, my MSI wouldn't, and reciprocally, but that's not the case.
It works!

Sixaxis controller?

Is there any chance that the app will be compatible with the sensation? Can anyone make it work on our device? Thanks
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
not for a while, our bluetooth stack doesnt support it...
im sure someone is working on it, as the wiimote and certain BT headphones/headsets arent working either
From what I've heard/read, HTC has really screwed up the BT stack on their phones and have no intention of fixing it. We basically have to wait until a ROM fixes the BT stack on this phone.
Yea I've been trying to get it done and it didn't even give me a bluetooth address. then I tried on Xperia X10, that gave me a blutooth address but didn't connect. I guess we gotta wait for a while.
Hi,
I have read if I get my phone (HTC Sensation 4G) "rooted" (not sure how to do this) and install CyanogenMod 7 (could not find it for Sensation) I could use the SixAxis controller app on my phone.
Does anyone know where I could find CM7 to install on my Sensation (they have it for the MyTouch 4G which seems to be a similar phone, could I install that version of CM7?)?
How can I "root" my device?
Perhaps is there a different method to "tweek" the bluetooth protocol for my phone to pair with the PS3 controller?
I have seen a few youtube videos with the sixaxis working on other phones (Samsung Galaxy S, x10 mini pro, HTC Desire, HTC HD2) and since the Sensation 4G is the newest and best T-Mobile device I assumed there would be some way to get this app to work.
Im desperately trying to use the Sixaxis app (want to do 4 player Mario Kart and 007 via HDMI on my tv with 4 PS3 controllers!!) on my HTC Sensation 4G and if anyone has a way (or update) to make this work please let me know- thank you!

I'm trialing an alpha version of the compatibility checker app that should support more devices. It would be great if some of you could try it out and give me some feedback:

fast Rom with mhl and bluetooth stack?

Hey guys. Im looking for a fast Rom with options to overclock the CPU and being able to play n64oid with wiimote and mhl/hdmi. I really would love to take cynogenmod but from what i have heard mhl doesnt work right now on it. and im dying to get n64oid work with multiplayer any thoughts of a good Rom or dö you think cynogen Will fix the mhl problem?
i think CM7 is the only rom out there that has bluetooth stacks that are compatible with the wiimote. maybe one day someone will make a hybrid Rom that will have the stock AOSP bluetooth stacks with sense UI
oooh so its the only.. hmm but as it seems now MHL/HDMI doesnt work on CM7.. its pity

Portale Gaming Console

Finally!
After hours of searching and trying and flashing and crying and crashing (such a poet, huh?) I finally made it!
Since I did a lot of research for this I thought that this could be helpful for people having the same intention!
Here we go!
I tried to use my Sensation XE as gaming console so that I can play over my flatscreen using my PS3 Sixaxis Controller. Since the Bluetooth Stack used in the Stock Sense ROM seems to be pretty messed up I had to choose another one. After using some Jelly Bean ROMs without Sense I found out that it's impossible to find a ROM with a working MHL output....pretty awkward!
So I wanted you to know, what you need to make it work!
At the moment I am using:
Android Revolution HD 6.8.0 XE by mike1986
combined with
3.0.16-Pyd-X-test3.8.1
Be aware to use Version 0.5.7 of the Sixaxis Controller App to make it work on a Sense ROM. At least this was my experience!
To sum it up:
ROM: Android Revolution HD 6.8.0 XE by mike1986
Kernel: 3.0.16-Pyd-X-test3.8.1
App: Sixaxis (can be found in the Play Store)
All you need now is a MHL-Cable and your favorite Emulator-App and games!
I hope, that this will help you a bit and that you will have the same fun playing PS1 and N64 Games on your TV over your mobile device as I do!
Cheers!
Sorry for my English!
Sounds good!
Maybe you can use something like this, so you won´t need an MHL cable, even though it´s a little bit pricey.
I think that isn't necessary since you can order an MHL-Cable which allows you to charge your phone while playing
That's interesting! I have an MHL cable but never used it much.
