Portale Gaming Console - HTC Sensation

Finally!
After hours of searching and trying and flashing and crying and crashing (such a poet, huh?) I finally made it!
Since I did a lot of research for this I thought that this could be helpful for people having the same intention!
Here we go!
I tried to use my Sensation XE as gaming console so that I can play over my flatscreen using my PS3 Sixaxis Controller. Since the Bluetooth Stack used in the Stock Sense ROM seems to be pretty messed up I had to choose another one. After using some Jelly Bean ROMs without Sense I found out that it's impossible to find a ROM with a working MHL output....pretty awkward!
So I wanted you to know, what you need to make it work!
At the moment I am using:
Android Revolution HD 6.8.0 XE by mike1986
combined with
3.0.16-Pyd-X-test3.8.1
Be aware to use Version 0.5.7 of the Sixaxis Controller App to make it work on a Sense ROM. At least this was my experience!
To sum it up:
ROM: Android Revolution HD 6.8.0 XE by mike1986
Kernel: 3.0.16-Pyd-X-test3.8.1
App: Sixaxis (can be found in the Play Store)
All you need now is a MHL-Cable and your favorite Emulator-App and games!
I hope, that this will help you a bit and that you will have the same fun playing PS1 and N64 Games on your TV over your mobile device as I do!
Cheers!
Sorry for my English!

Sounds good!
Maybe you can use something like this, so you won´t need an MHL cable, even though it´s a little bit pricey.

I think that isn't necessary since you can order an MHL-Cable which allows you to charge your phone while playing

That's interesting! I have an MHL cable but never used it much.

[Solved] Bluetooth Game Controller?

I Know there are a lot of threads for Game Pad Controllers out there what i am wondering is if any of you have one that you use for the Inspire. I am looking to get one and while there is not much selection for android bluetooth game pads i want one to work with the emulators (FPse, N64oid, TigerNES, SNesoid, ect). So how about it any of you have any experience in this?
I have found out that you can use a Zeemote with android but i don't know if it works with inspire. i am looking for something more along the lines of a ps2/3 style setup in a controller cause that is very easy to hold for many hours on end.
UPDATE: I have purchased a zeemote to try will update when I receive and test it out.
UPDATE2: Have received said js1 joystick. Seems to work so far. Am going to fiddle with this and write a review!
MOD: I probably need to move this to the accessories threads now. Thanks!
WOOHOO!! it does work. I am using a Zeemote JS1 On the HTC Inspire 4g without Root. So far so good! I have used it with FPse, SNesoid and Tiger NES so far. Will test it out with the N64oid this afternoon! Using a free software that connects via bluetooth called Bluez IME software to connect. It was fairly simple just following the instructions. Will try and post videos when i get my hands on a camcorder.
Anyone heard of the one that uses the Wii controller?

There are several that use Wii controller but if you have HTC.sense it won't work (ie stock Rom) HTC didn't include hid devices in their Bluetooth driver/stack. So unless you root you can't use a Wii controller. Not that I have found out. The guy that wrote the driver I mentioned above is working on getting Wii controller working with his driver. At that point it would be a great thing to have if u use your phone for games!

Some Chinese guy had remodified a PS1 controller which he is selling on Taobao (kinda like a Chinese ebay) for about 25 USD. I got myself one about a week ago and am working at the moment with the bluez-ime developer to get it working on Android. It works so far with FPse, which you can see on the crappy video that I just took. Maybe I should start exporting these controllers ;-)

Wireless Wii Classic Controller - some way to attach it??

Hello,
I'm being dead serious about this. I want a way to attach the Classic Controller (wireless datel) to the actual Galaxy S. I know for certain that there is no real attachment for this. But is there perhaps a combination of cases which could somehow be attached?
For example a clip on case for the GS, then a case for the classic controller. Then connect the 2 together.
Only serious replies please if any. It would make an awesome portable gaming device. Shame that the GS has no keyoard+game gripper.
Kris
your thinking something similar to this right?
the first problem you need to solve is how to connect the wii controller to sgs via bluetooth. it's a problem that still hasn't been resolved for any htc or newer samsung phone... tons of threads on this.
so really no point figuring out how to physically attach the wii controller to the sgs
Well I've seen a video of the classic controller working on the GS. Also they don't work in HTC sense phones due to the SenseUI (i so believe) so after rooted and they have a stock rom without sense I don't see why it wouldn't work out :O
Wiimotes don't work on stock sgs firmware
Incompatible bluetooth stack
They will work on cm7 however
Then I would go on CM7 i guess

Better not risk it though, if your phone gets bricked... Just all because you wanted to play those big memory space wii games on the galaxy s. And anyway, small screen, short battery life I don't think you will enjoy
Its not for playing wii games. Its for all the emulators. Even if i didn't use the wiimote I would still load it with CM7 (dont have one yet).
any progress?
this is something i would like to see for sure!
does the wireless one work on CM7 currently? even that is awesome

Is there any bluetooth game controller that can be used with emulators on infuse?

I was looking to join the Infuse 4g team here and wanted to know the following:
- Can you use ANY bluetooth controllers with gaming emulators? Also is there a single one that works without being rooted?
I know that Samsung usually messes up the ability to connect bluetooth controllers. I remember with my HTC Nexus One it worked beautifully with a wiimote even though I never rooted
I figured if I can use a bluetooth game controller with the gaming emulators and HDMI it to my television that I would have to purchase it...
Thanks for any knowledge you can give me I appreciate it
Yes, bluez ime will let you use zeemote, icontrolpad, and msi bgp100. No root required. Get bluez ime on the market.

Oh... My... God...
You sir, are AMAZING!
Thank you so much I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question jjfbman. I was starting to lose hope since no one answered my question but you saved the day. I'd really like to go with the Infuse but I told myself the next phone I get has to do 3 things like the iPhone can:
1. Emulators w/ bluetooth game controller support
2. Bluetooth keyboard support (I believe some people say the infuse already does this?)
3. Netflix streaming
1 down... 2 to go and I'm sold
Netflix support is probably going to come with Gingerbread. And if the rumors about Roger's Infuse are true, then an unofficial Gingerbread release shouldn't be too far off.

fast Rom with mhl and bluetooth stack?

Hey guys. Im looking for a fast Rom with options to overclock the CPU and being able to play n64oid with wiimote and mhl/hdmi. I really would love to take cynogenmod but from what i have heard mhl doesnt work right now on it. and im dying to get n64oid work with multiplayer any thoughts of a good Rom or dö you think cynogen Will fix the mhl problem?
i think CM7 is the only rom out there that has bluetooth stacks that are compatible with the wiimote. maybe one day someone will make a hybrid Rom that will have the stock AOSP bluetooth stacks with sense UI
oooh so its the only.. hmm but as it seems now MHL/HDMI doesnt work on CM7.. its pity

[Q] Best ROM's that support MHL?

When I first got this phone, I really enjoyed the MHL abilities, and this was when I had know clue what ADB or Kernel meant. At the moment, I have CM10 (stable)(stock cm10 rom)) and wanted to play some games via the TV and Sixaxis. I realized that CM10 does not support HDMI out, so to the point.
What are the best ROM's that support MHL?
Any sense ROM.
