Hey guys, i used to take the advantage of that on my htc jade. Sense does it, nicely, but on nexus we need an app. If there's already a thread/app about it please notify me. I did search and didn't find it. So... Anyone?
The use of that is this that we can hold the nexii in the hand, and say hello when we should, exactly.

If you are using CM you can enable this under settings. Settings> Call settings. It'll be under advanced settings.

Does anyone know if this works and I am just not seeing the video icons in my friends list, or if this is prohibited with the Gtalk pre-installed on the sensation.
IF the latter is there an open APK that will allow this from another forum perhaps?
RW
Official app only works in 2.3.4

only bad thing about VTOK is when I had it installed it never shut off & drained by battery quickly. Even with the screen off, it was always using the CPU & keeping wifi on. Signing out of your google account didn't shut it down either
I've emailed the developer but still haven't heard back after a week.
On my galaxy tab I am running the Overcome 2.0.1 ROM which is a Gingerbread 2.3.3. The version of Google talk pre-installed with it does video chat. Perhaps there it a way to extract the APK from the galaxy Tab and use it with our 2.3.3 phones?
I could be completely wrong on this, but...
I believe that the Talk app is installed into the system folder and therefore we'd have to push the replacement file into the system folder, which we can't do right now?

Hi guys,
What version of Talk actually works on the Sensation then? I have insertcoin 3.3.9 which gives me android 2.3.5 with 3.5 sense but i cannot for the life of me work out how to get the video icons on my contacts. I have tried everything and still nothing as even tapping on my avatar does not give me an option to enable / disable video.
Anyone know what i need to do?
So far it's been working for me with most of the versions of InsertCoin. Just make sure that the contacts on the side has enabled their option to receive video calls.

Hey guys. My MMS Messages aren't working right for some reason. It used to be fine but yesterday 2 people sent me pictures through MMS and neither worked right. One was from and iphone the other was from a One XL. It says the resolution is 23x40 and I can't view them at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm on cleanrom 3.2 if that matters!
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Perhaps your phone compressed them really small. My phone does the same thing to pics and makes them small so that that take up only a thumb-sized portion of my screen. Seems to be a problem with HTC.
Sent from my HTC One X
Yeah that's what it does. There has to be a way to fix it though

Check the senders phones before you go tearing yours apart. It's probably on their side.

No. They were sent by 2 different phones and are different pictures.

same here. I had two people send me mms from different phones and the picture was thumbnail :/
iPhones are notorious for tiny mms messages
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
It's not just the iPhone there is something wrong with the way our phone handles mms. I had a buddy who has an iPhone and a buddy that has the same one x that I have send me the same picture we found online 5 times and it just seemed like it was every other picture that was messed up.

Has anyone figured out what causes this?
I wonder if the file is being compressed by the network to alleviate network congestion, possibly?
my friend sent me a picture and it was tiny resolution. he resent it, and it was fine.
weird.
stock 2.20 firmware
If you use go sms make sure "preserve image resolution" is checked in settings. Makes a huge difference.
I have to attend live online lectures for my paramedic recertification:crying:. Being that I'm severely ADD and a huge procrastinator, I have waited to the last second to complete my continuing education requirements. These live online lectures all are done at certain times during the day and I have to pretty much attend every lecture daily to complete them in time. The problem is I also have to work on the ambulance. The player that the lectures use is a flash player but I cannot resize it too full screen on my phone so I was wondering if there is any way that I would be able to mirror my phone's screen to my laptop screen and on top of that enlarge it so that it will fill the whole screen. Is this possible by either app or by using some kind of hack?

How? Miracast isn't baked into Android 4.2. And it's not part of the stock One X 4.2 ROM either; HTC is attached to it's Media Link HD tech.
When I got the phone, I assumed the IR Blaster was a gimmick and that I would hardly use it. Therefore it was not a selling point when buying the phone. Now I use it everyday. It is just so convenient to control my TV and be able to change channels while looking at the channel guide!

I wish there was a way for it to open the app directly to the remote to turn tv on. there are about 4-5 button presses I need to do to get the tv powered on
I dont know why but I cant get the app to work. It keeps saying that it cannot connect to the server. Ive seen other people mention this problem but I dont know if theres a fix for it yet.
Sucks because I would like to use the feature.
The IR blaster on this device is much better than the LG or Samsung versions, IMO... And when it works apparently (sorry for the luck). It does upset me that you can't add it to the lock screen like Samsung though. With viper, and probably other ways as well, you can add the shortcut to the lockscreen, so that save a few clicks.

There is a universal remote app that is amazing. Its 10 dollars but is worth every penny. I have been at the bar and turned off tv's as a joke. No one would think a phone can do that

What is it called exactly there are loads of apps titled simply ' universal remote'. Having an app like that that needs so little setup sounds pretty cool.

If you didn't sign up for an HTC account at start dot htc dot com then it will do that. Once I went through that, the TV app worked fine for me.

You can set it as lock screen. I just did. Your doc at the bottom is the same as your lock screen so you have to change it to one of those.

Yeah, I didn't think of that. It would be nice if we could set up as a widget. Be nice to double tap and there's the remote. Since its stock on other OEMs, I'm hopeful someone will make it happen on one of the great ROMs we have to choose from.

This is why I use Smart IR and have a widget with power and volume controls.
Edit: Let's support devs instead of being little deviants, guys.
Piracy
Good Afternoon.
The distribution of paid apps for "free" by any means is considered Piracy and is strictly prohibited on XDA.
If you are unsure whether or not the app you're linking others to or downloading is pirated material, try searching for it in the Playstore.
If it has a cost, then your "free download" is PIRATED
Thank you and have a nice day.
