I saw in another topic where someone said they could trick Netflix into installing on the mesmerize. Which rom would I need to install to do this.
Thanks

With roms like pick n pack and heinz 57 I've gotten netflix to open but not play anything... seems like the newest version won't even open....
However, with MIUI it opens and plays without any trickery involved... you can even get off the android market if you are running MIUI.

Pretty sure it works in the cyanogen mod mtd as well
The definitive answer? You basically need a gingerbread based rom to run it. It won't run on froyo based ones.

I was able to watch Netflix and Stream Media via DFGAS's latest Miui Rom. I am currently watching Iron Man 2.
Also working on CM7, as someone else said.
You can't download the app from the market, though. You need to download the apk...don't remember where I found it, but search around on here. The apk files have been posted in a few locations.
Annoying pop-up saying there's a new version, but it doesn't pop-up while playing, only while browsing.
Quality is excellent via WIFI.
Working on CM7 with one of the modded version from the netflix thread on the general android apps section. No annoying popups, just streaming goodness.

rofl...mumi? Didn't read much, did you? It's miui. they're both stable, miui is more actively updated, thanks to andmer and dfgas, unfortunately jt1134 is working more or less alone on getting cm7 for mes/sc. lmartin92 has started getting some showcase stuff done, so we'll see in the future.

Hey guys, I just flashed my g2x with cm7 and now my youtube app won't work. It opens just fine, but I can't play any videos. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
Also, my flash player seems to be very glitchy. Sometimes videos are scrambled while audio plays normally.
Please help
Which cm7? Mine works fine. Did you try a reboot or reinstall of youtube?

If you're on EB, then this is a given.
I'm having the same problem. I'm gong to switch over to stock gingerbread.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
I have tried both the newest eagles blood rom as well as the latest cm7 rom and the problem is identical on both of them. I don't want to go back to stock, but stock is better than this. Someone please advise.
Its just something weird. Typically it'll correct itself after a few page refreshes. It doesn't always do this but it does at first.
Have you tried other browsers? Installing the YouTube app? Uninstalling/reinstalling flash?
Flash in the browser is what caused me problems. I installed the YouTube app and now most videos just popup and play in the YouTube app.
G2x - 2.3.7 CM7
Transformer - 3.2 Revolver OC/UV
I had this problem when I was on stable CM7. When I updated to the latest nightly, it started working.
Before that, I was watching videos in Miren browser.

I did the same thing, all the nightlies are here. (Click)
Although some people, (like myself) have a low-mic issue.
Are you guys on the latest nightly saying the youtube app and flash player are working properly? I'm on the latest nightly and my YouTube app works fine but I have problems with flash player.
This is a known issue. I reported the issue to the cm issues tracker over a month ago, there's other people there that have the issue.
My YouTube app works fine but the videos in the browser are distorted.
Another problem I saw with CM compared to stock, is that the first 3d quadrant benchmark test (3d shooting style) have a flickering black shadow at the end of the test and not to mention the complete scene is not drwan correctly compared to stock.
On the test that a moon pass close to a planet, on stock you will see a shadow from the moon over the planet.
On Cm7 and any others variant, there is none....
+ I got all your flash issue too on web page.
It smell to me a bad tegra 2 driver.
Actually had this happen but haven't flashed a nightly since the not is broken.
11252011-1511-cm-7.2.0-RC0-G2x-baldwinguy77CLEAN-signed.zip
And I did have this issue where YouTube app crashed when trying to veiw a YouTube channel with the app.
Eventually it got fixed but never flashed to a new nightly.
Could clear up but g2x is riddled with YouTube issues.
Just my two cents

This isn't a G2X issue. It effected a lot of different devices. I had a Nook Color that wouldn't play Youtube for 2 months. It's fixed now but it all came down to an update of Youtube I believe that happened around September. Check the Youtube app comments from around then and you will see lots of people have had this problem.
I don't believe I've ever used any cm7 based rom that didn't experience this problem from time to time. Even stable builds have suffered from it. All I can do is watch them without full screen. Otherwise, lines get blurry.

Re ins tal YouTube
I was able to re-install YouTube as reccommended above and get it to work,
G2x using CM7.1
I had the same problem....like glitchy flash player object, exclamation symbols on flash objects, and zooming in and out would crash the flash player. I was on EaglesBlood. I just revert to weapon g2x 3.0 and i dont have flash player problems anymore.
I'm having a problem with youtube. Every time I try to watch a video, all it does is load. The video never loads. Just wanted to know if anyone else has ran into this problem.

I have to ask, have you tried rebooting your phone and trying again?
Yes, several times. It stopped working after I went from aokp 37 to build 40.

I'm unfamiliar with AOKP, so my next question would be, is it just the Youtube app? Can you load a Youtube video in Browser and have it work properly?
uninstall reinstall
uninstall the youtube app, go to play store and reinstall. Could be a bad setting...

Umm....no. Youtube works on all ICS roms currently available, although I suppose it is possible AOKP somehow broke it by accident on their latest version.

Hi guys,
I seem to have a need to run experimental builds. And since I turned the other thread into an official CM10 thread (stupid of me, I know), I thought I'd create this one to run experimental builds on.
What constitutes an experimental build? Well... mostly tweaks to our device profile. Turning on and off features we do or don't have on the phone. Maybe I'll try experimental AOKP or other releases, but most importantly:
I DO NOT TAKE REQUESTS!
Please don't ask for things that really should be mods and handled in the Themes and Apps section. You'll just be annoying me and cluttering the thread.
Please see the second post for misc. things I'm working on.
Also, be nice to all posters... even the [email protected] This is the Android Dev section and I'd like to see a certain level of decorum. We only get better by rising above.
AS ALWAYS, VERIFY ALL MD5 SUMS BEFORE INSTALLING.
ALSO, IF YOU FIND SERIOUS (or even minor) WEIRDNESS, PLEASE DO A FULL WIPE AND VERIFY BEFORE REPORTING!
Thanks
So, I talked to some guys, and I'm hoping the following kernel soves some of the SoD issues people have been having. Folks, PLEASE remember that you need to run this for at least a day or two without rebooting your phone on purpose. If it crashes out or reboots on it's own, that's a different story. I need this to be more of a long term test. As soon as I can confirm this works, I'll get it patched and submitted to official.
CM10 2012-11-11 Build. SoD Fix Attempt 1: boot-cm10.t769-noSoD.zip - 6.89 MB (Dirty flash OK, no need to wipe dalvik)
NOTE!!!
Sometimes I'll mention I uploaded a build. It takes about 25-30 minutes for me to upload a 160MB file. So if you don't see a file immediately, give it a half hour and come back.
Cleanup...
Unless there are any objections, I'll be removing the following files from my dev-host account, as well as older builds:
T769 - CM9 Experimental build, 10/25 Latest: cm-9-20121025-UNOFFICIAL-t769.zip - 137.16 MB
T769 - CM9 Kernel Flash for 10/30 build, Random WiFi MAC Fix: boot-kernel-cm9-wireless-mac-fix-20121030.zip - 6.99 MB

OK, so, first things first. I've run a basic build of CM9. I'd love to know if you guys find this stable or not. This has my kernel modifications against the kernel that it originally came from (3.0.8). The device setup is very similar to CM10 so setting up and running a build was not difficult.

I works, though wonky.
BLN was wonky in CM9, that's just how it was. In fact, when talking amongst the devs about doing a CM9 build, the dude that was responsible for the BLN stuff said "don't forget CM9 has the wonky BLN" ... yeah. It's the same experience as from CM10.
The CM10 implementation is supposed to be cleaner, but the rewrite was so extensive that it is killing me to try to work support for us back into it. In fact, the CM10 very of our build uses the CM9 driver, until I can finish my port.
So, yeah, the BLN will be the same as in the CM10 release.

It should be fairly vanilla CM9, except based on my sources rather than TFQ's. I'm hoping I can get some feedback on stability and features (other than BLN) because I'm curious about the comparison to CM10. Also, because an official build of CM9 might go a long way towards making people happier about their CM experience while CM10 goes through it's growing pains

Thanks! Yeah, no one else reported back on it. I think I may have found the volume issue. Looks like I may have missed some things in the kernel. Gonna finish building some new patches tonight, so we'll see. With any luck, by the end of the day we'll have a stable CM9 where the sound is what it should be, and I577 will have a CM9 that doesn't spin like a top
And... this might help towards some sound stuff that was just reported for the CM10 build as well.

Hah! Don't get too excited... I may have been wrong
Sorry to be late guys.... This rom is probably the most stable rom out there for ics.... the only drawback is the music playback from the speakers... the headphones seem to work perfect even with apollo. Also with amazon mp3 player.. Very smooth, fluid. Feels very fast. But I noticed one glitch in any app if I close the status bar real fast I see like half of the screen flash black. To reproduce this glitch you can just open messaging: pull down the bar, let it go, then real fast drag it to the top......
Glad to hear you guys are having a good experience with this build. With any luck, it'll be "official" early next week.
I loaded a new kernel into my CM9 builds area (see second post). Please load that one up as it's what will ultimately be pushed. If I could get a day or two's worth of feedback, I'd appreciate it. It's OK to dirty flash. You can wipe dalvik if you like.
I loaded some music on my test phone and, honestly... I'm not sure how loud it's supposed to get. The volume didn't change with the final kernel patching I did. Though, the other kernel's volume seems fine to my ears You're talking about the speakerphone, right?
My test music sounded fine to me... maybe I'll load up CM10 and see if there's a difference.
EDIT: loaded CM10 and volume levels seem the same to me. . o (you can get with this... or you can get with that...)
