Black gel tpu cover case w/pics - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

just got a new BLACK GEL TPU COVER CASE from ebay for $3, not bad for the money, fits perfectly, buttons r hard to use but probably have to work them in. item says gel, but feels smoother than gel, not gummy. received it in 2 weeks from china to canada, fastest i ever got anything from there

i have to agree, im going to c if they loosen up a little, or else ill just cut the power one out

I did that for the volume buttons on my TPU case, the power hole was open already, I used an Exacto knife to carve out the volume buttons and it's MUCH better now.

have this model for now 2 month without problem
i love the side grip
probably i cut the power button

so after 2 months it hasnt loosened up
i love the phone naked, but a little too slick and always worried that the phone would slip out of my hands, the case keeps the bulk down and side grip makes for a less chance of it flying out of my hands, but i could of done without it as the tpu skin would of sufficed

I've been using this case since February. It's really quite impressive for the price. It has probably saved me from a cracked screen at least once. For the price it's really good.

Just got mine in the mail yesterday. For $2.42 shipped, how could I pass it up? I love the look and feel of it (especially the feel), and while I appreciate the stiffness of the buttons making it hard to accidentally press something, they are very firm to the point of being difficult to press. Sucks because I love everything else about this case, especially the side grips, and it's easily my favorite among all the Skyrocket cases I've tried (Otterbox Defender, Diztronic TPU, a bunch of those cheap silicone/mesh hybrids and a Reiko case similar to the Defender, but with a kickstand). Do those buttons loosen up with time at all, or do they pretty much stay the same?

I hated the volume buttons on my TPU case so I cut them out so it's just an opening to the original buttons, same as the power button. I just used a box cutter and cut out around the outline, you can't even tell, and it's *so* much easier now.

I have this for a while and I'm pretty sure the buttons are loosening up with time, happens to me that i accidentally wake the phone clicking the volume keys while simply grabbing it. I only remove it when I'm flashing stuff and need to get to recovery often, then it's a bit annoying.

Just bought mine yesterday. Waiting now.

Well, I screwed this one up pretty good. I cut the covers for the power and volume buttons out, then realized that they're so far recessed in the case that I'll never be able to get to them. It's even less convenient now than it was when the buttons were impossible to press. Oops.
Diztronic TPU incoming.

Just a heads up to anyone buying one off amazon, switch who you purchase from. The default is from a Hong Kong seller. I bought the iPhone variant a while back for a friend, saving 10cents is not worth 3 weeks of ship time.

I got mine from ebay too
I got ebay #220687867777
As above, it is a tight fit but the power button is the problem, likely all the same case from different sellers..
I superglued a tiny plastic fragment from a shampoo bottle lid under the cases button indentation and it's perfect. The smoke effect isn't so good where I put the glue but duh... its a solvent.
It came with a screen protector which was surprisingly good compared to the Zagg ones I have used before (and still have).
Total bargain
well after initial getting one off flea bay it came and did the job but was bulky and the power button was hard to operate
then read on here about some one who got a very good one and no power button issues, so i got the link and ordered one and i have to say its excellent
fits a lot better than the other one and far less bulky and the power button is no longer a problem

After seeing this I ordered one of these, and I can confirm it works well - much better than the previous case I had, where it was a real pain to press the power button. Really fast (free) delivery and only £3.49 - bargain!
Got a case-mate one today from carphone whore house it was a tenner with screen protector that I immediately threw away, as I don't see the need for a screen protector also it looked like it wouldn't fit that well. The case itself is pretty nice, I don't think it is silicone (maybe TPU) as it comes out of my pocket easily (you all know what I mean). It is very sleek and fits really well, power and volume buttons are easy to use so a win all round. Unfortunately it is not on either the CPW or the case-mate website yet (they had one type of case in stock and only one of that case in stock). Looking at the other case-mate cases I believe it is from their barely-there series.

That looks great. My wife is about to get a Desire HD, I'm used to flexishield cases (which I think is brilliant for my HD2) - is this as good as theirs?
Thanks.
The case you are discussing in here is the same one I posted about in this thread. The seller I got it from sells it for a little less (£2.75) but it is exactly the same one. I have to say I have no problems with it, it fits well, all the buttons and openings are well cut and I would recommend it to anyone. As for the power button, the inital HTC design is a pain but this case helps out to some degree, that said, it is still difficult to press at times.
Regards.
Is it worth buying a hydro case or a silicone gel case like these

I bought 2 of these the other day I gave one my friend who has the HD as mine doesn't come till Monday. The case looks fine and does the job. There is a really smart looking case on Play.com coming out at the end if the month. These will do until then.

Best case I've found (and am currently using) is the tpu case like this: http://www.amazon.com/P990-Optimus-..._1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1326859268&sr=1-2
or the one I'm using: http://www.amazon.com/LG-Soft-Dual-..._13?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1326859268&sr=1-13
Only thing is the power button was tricky to press so I just cut it out. Every other case I saw looked terrible.

I've been using the checkerboard one for awhile now and it hasn't left any marks on the G2x. One thing to note though is that it covers up the power and volume buttons. The material there is thinner to supposedly let you easily press through the case but I find it extremely annoying. I'm tempted to cut those parts out but never get around to it.
received the case today. for $2.80 you just cant beat it. fits very nice, feels good in hand too.
Thanks again, great case which I can say the same about my Clarivue screen protector. Anti-Glare is simply NOT usable due to IPS panel I guess. (works fine on MyTouch 4G)

I just bought this one Incipio NGP case.
Just got it in the mail today, but I won't have my G2x until Friday
I'll report back once I get it in and put it on. My friend had an incipio case for his iPhone, and it felt really solid, so I decided to check if they had one for the G2x and they did. Kinda pricey ($19.99 on Amazon), but if it protects it, its worth it to me.
Love my rubber case on my G2X feel I can toss the phone around any surface and not be afraid of scratches.
Also, I don't have screen protector, been almost a year on this phone and honestly, the screen is very good and doesn't scratch. Then again been lucky not putting anything that can scratch the screen.
Has anyone bought a rubber case but for the G2X with the huge 3500mah battery? Thats the only thing I want and I'm good. Only reason I hold back at not using my extended battery full time.

I was thinking about getting one of the robber ones, and take a heat gun to it, and "Form" it over the new battery cover, not sure if it would work or not, but it might be worth a shot.

That's actually a good idea. Or you can buy a TPU case and cut out the back so you can fit the extended battery cover. As long as the actual phone is protected, it's all good.

Just received mine in the mail so........Mini review!
Aesthetics:
Its a pretty simple case, not too flashy. The whole case is made of TPU, the back part is matte and while smooth doesn't appear to be too slippery, while the bumper portion fully surrounds the sides of the phone, is fully transparent and has a nice rubbery grippy feel. The nexus 4 back design is not really visible through the back of the case. However, the nexus logo itself can be seen albeit slightly muted. While it does add a little bulk to the phone, its pretty minimal while providing decent protection for day to day use.
Function:
There are appropriate cut-outs for both the and bottom mics, the speaker, the camera and the charging port. The volume and power buttons have these built in pushable sections which protrude slightly outside the case and allow you to press the buttons down. I found that the power button sometimes took a little bit of effort to press, however the volume buttons are perfectly fine. I don't have access to a wireless charger so I can't comment on whether that works or not, but it detects NFC tags just fine.
Protection:
For the front , the added lip should mean that placing your phone face-down will elevate it slightly and provide some protection. The bumper portion provides as good protection as any TPU case around the sides of the phone. The back is also fully covered so this should protect from scratches and minor bumps although I'm not sure how good the drop protection will be (this is obviously not a super heavy duty case).
Pictures:
I don't have a camera at the moment but I'll see what I can do. Pictures added. Apologies for the shoddy camera work, using my roommate's Nexus S.
Still no sign by the looks of it
Perhaps one of these? The description says 0.5mm though.

Hey guys, Just got this case and I really like it..yes some flaws but cant beat the fact that you can see through and that back is exposed

Okay review but I disagree on the button feedback comment.
I've had my case for about a week or so.. Just took it off today and it is so much easier to press the power button and volume rocker.
They could have made that part way better, other than that I love this case.

Of course not having a case will def feel better. And thats why I said it sometimes feel like there is nothing there...but it seems that it got taken the wrong way..when I say nothing there , I meant like it feels like you are not pressing nothing at all which is not good . sorry for the misunderstanding .
Totally agreed with the fact that maybe for the buttons they could ve use less material making it feel more natural

Received mine a few days ago. The button feedback is normal as well. Maybe this is the 'fixed' one as well. Anyway, great case, snug fit. The only thing that is, have to remove it every now and then to remove dust that visible in between clear plastic and N4 back glass. A bit annoyed to see those specks of dust... Nothing major
Also can confirm the buttons on this case are perfect now . received mine yesterday.

nop at all! the only "down" is the back, since its acrylic, time to time accumulates some dust.
Got this case a few days back and it's excellent. Button feedback is better than without the case - indeed, the power button now works 100% for me while I was having trouble with it before. Fits like a glove, the cut outs are perfect, especially the mini jack - I can fit most headphones in it now.
In my opinion this is the best case I could buy. It makes the device feel a bit bigger and thicker, but I have more grip when I hold it, and feel absolutely protected. It fell a few times and got no damage whatsoever. The back got a bit scratched, but it's ok, it's two years old!
A nice touch is the tiny feet on the back, so when you put it on a table, you can perfectly hear the speaker.
Definitely a very good case.

I personally prefer the slimmer TPU cases....
I went with the T-Mobile D3O case when I first got my Blaze over a year ago and since then I have dropped it a number of times, from shoulder height, onto tile and concrete floors, and there isn't so much as a scratch on my phone.
At first I was skeptical of the D3O material, but it really does its job. The case is as thin as a cheap TPU case, but much tougher and way more protective. It also covers the SD card slot, which was a must for me. I didn't want to take a chance with a card coming loose in my pocket or when I dropped it. It also does a very nice job protecting the buttons and making it harder to inadvertently press them without being too hard to press. And unlike some of the cases I've seen from other companies there is no ugly branding of the case manufacturer anywhere on the outside, only on the inner edge where the phone sits.
If you're looking for a low-profile and well designed case that does a nice job protecting your phone without looking tacky, I highly recommend you check it out.

I'm a fan of the d30 too, it does work, imo. I have 2 extra ones, one new in box and a used one. Not sure what I'm going to do with them, I just ordered a new one and they sent me two by mistake, lol.

I went with the T-Mobile D3O case when I first got my Blaze over a year ago and since then I have dropped it a number of times, from shoulder height, onto tile and concrete floors, and there isn't so much as a scratch on my phone.

I've had the blaze for a year and a half now and that case has saved me so many times it's the only case I have for this phone.

I own a blue/black version of this case (without the clip) this has definitely saved my phone, I've had the same case on for about a year now and it still looks new. It does add a bit of bulk, but hey, what can you do?
If you were considering getting this I say YES! but don't pay $20 for it. Try this
They have plenty of colors and way cheaper than DayDeal

Are we talking about the same case:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007NCJ13A/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I just bought one of these and I'm finding it way too stiff and rigid. It's hard to press the buttons, the power button although stiff is not a huge issue but the volume ones are. Trying to turn the volume down results in the volume going all the way down to silent because the case is so tight and stiff it keep on depressing the button even when I let up. Trying to turn it up is hard to as there is a sweet spot that i have to hit just right and that's only if when I try to turn it up it does not push on the down side to. Does this case ever loosen up? Very frustrating !! I like putting my phone in my pocket so I'm trying to find one that does not have a clip or kick stand or one that can be removed.

Give it some time, mine was like that too but I really have no complaints since it always saved my phone when I've dropped it, and I've had some nasty drops happen to my phone... It's a top quality case, it's the only case I have for this phone and I've had the blaze since May 2012
