Smooth Conservative Governor - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am think about tweaking conservative governor and create new governor based on conservative.
First idea is adding two level to cpu scaling freq 600 and 900 Mhz.
Second is that we need to reduce conservative polling timeout.
At the end i think we can use lazy governor feature, that lazy down at 1000 Mhz level.
Are there any devs, can help me with creating this governor?

I think this is the wrong thread you must as this in general questions thread

it would be nice! I'm glad if you want me to build a kernel with your governor for testing

Sweet, may have to try this, faux is sucking out for me.
Defaulted to SIO scheduler for me. Changed ala system tuner to NOOP. What is it undervolted by as the default?

Thanks for the new Kernel!
Just curious, but does it take a lot of work to add overclocking ability to kernels?

sio is better than noop
all I can say to this kernel.... is wow. I'm in love with the lionheart governor. Haven't got around to trying the rest but its sooo smoooth. Underclocked to 1.242 and its still running nice. I was also able to underclock and additional -50mV and running stable. Sorry faux, I've turned traitor

Why? I read about all of them, but can you explain? This is what i've found
SIO
Simple I/O scheduler aims to keep minimum overhead to achieve low latency to serve I/O requests. No priority quesues concepts, but only basic merging. Sio is a mix between noop & deadline. No reordering or sorting of requests.
Advantages:
Simple, so reliable.
Minimized starvation of requests.
Disadvantages:
Slow random-read speeds on flash drives, compared to other schedulers.
Sequential-read speeds on flash drives also not so good.
Cm7 compatible?

Because it has minimal overhead and doesn't do any requeueing, only processing in order, which most of the time is good in our case as we want to give the task in use priority, which sio does
This kernel is awesome! I love it.

Question what governor for KT747 do you think gives best battery life and performance?
Thank you finally I know what those profiles mean other than the obvious performance mode...

i have tried every govenor/ io scheduler combination on different kernels and always end up back on deadline/ondemand.
It really depends on your needs and usage.
I am running KT747, 192 - 2106, custom voltage table, SmartassV2/sio -- Synergy.r71.
SmartassV2 can ramp up very quickly to meet demand and also attempts to ramp down quickly when demand lightens. You get a performance bias when you are interacting with the phone and a powersave bias when you are not.
As schedulers go, I figure simpler is better ... sio, all the way.

[Q] Fallout v5.0

Best Fallout Tweaks OC settings ?
It depends a lot on usage and requirements. I personally was using savagedzen @ 245-1200 awake and conservative @245-768 for sleep, noop scheduler.
Sent from my Desire S using xda app-developers app
I like lulzactive @ 245-1200mhz no governor change while in sleep mode. SIO I/O scheduler.
Sent from my HTC Desire S
Awake smartassV2 245 to 1305
Asleep smartassV2 245 to 368
noop scheduler
UV -100
These are very much device and user specific settings as previously stated suiting individual usage
I would suggest that there is no best settings simply what you're personally happy with
Sywepd form my DsereiS
It is not harmful for desire S to work on a different frequency then stock frequence?

No USB host support sorry. There is a specific driver that is not included in Kernel 3 and the attempt to port it from GB was not successful. If HTC release and update with such support for One V (primo) as they did for One X I will probably manage to include it *when the kernel sources are out*
Too much "if" but the time will tell...
Which is the best for battery life?

I'm also searching for the best settings... best relation between perfomance and battery life.
Maybe you can help finding the best settings.

[Q] Elementalx question

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this question. I'm not sure what forum it belongs under. In the Other Mods section of the kernel settings, is there any reason to check the box "Use ondemand governor"? It's ambiguous to me what governor this implies. Does checking this enable Elementalx's governor, or force using Android's native one?

No, that's a development thread. Questions like these belong in the Q&A section.

The "ondemand" governor is (IIRC) Android's native CPU governor. ElementalX has its own, eponymous default governor. So by checking "Use ondemand governor", you'd be using Android's native CPU governor.
Hope this helps.

ElementalX governor is default
Checking ondemand during install will cause it to use ondemand instead of elementalx governor
You can ask this kind of thing in the development thread, it's just by random chance I happened to see this.
