[Q] Android DVB-T ELECOM - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

Hello all,
I would like to ask about application which we can find in android play - Android DVB-T made by elecom. (app)
Anybody try it?
I find on elecom side USB DVB-T Tuner. Its look like very well, but it is working??
I instal app on transformer and give me a message "Disconnect the accessory and plug it in again."
I will be very grateful for any answer.

Do you have the TVTuner or you are trying to run the app without the actual hardware?

I install app without hardware, because I want to see some settings or, I don't know, some list of compatibile devices. Something that tells me a device with which it works.
I'm not a developer but I know that app will not show me any channel without hardware

as i'd like to have a DVB-T reception on my transformer in Poland wrote to the manufacturer

I doubt it will work without some sort of usb drivers built into the rom you are using. Android supports several basic usb devices, but nothing really specific. You'd also need a program to take advantage of the hardware...

You can buy a DVB-T program - look in the first post. Could it have drivers implemented?

In app description they wrote: "Android DVB-T is application software that controls DVB-T tuner made by Elecom" but they don't wrote which tuner working with it.
I wrote mail to Elecom two days ago but i don't get any answer yet.

I mean that you will still need kernel modules for your kernel and dvb-t stick.
I have compiled modules for some of dvb-t stick and using droidTv sw from chruli (posted on github)

Ok, this application not need any kernel modules, but work only with one dvb-t stick (made by Elecom)

Ok - they wrote that, but - I will return to my first question - anybody try it ??

Regarding to this german article (sorry did not found any english one for this product) the app only works with the DVB-T Dongle 12123 from Elecom. Elecom announced that the dongle will be availible from now on but I can't find it on their website.

This is strange... They give app, but no device for it I think where they specify devices for app. Thaks for all answers.

Dear Mr. ,
The App is for our ELECOM DVB-T Tuner 12123.
It will be available on Amazon.de within the next week or two.
It will work with you tablet if it has Android 3.1 or higher and if the Tab supports the USB host function.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen
Best Regards

Hi,
I received it last weekend. Here the results:
-Motorola Xoom MZ601 with Team EOS 2.0.0 Everest Rom (Android 4)
App was installable, but didnt recognize the Receiver.
lsusb showed the devices
-Motorola Xoom MZ601 with Original EU Rom, Android 3.2
App was installable, App started when connecting the receiver
good sensitivity, got all my Channels, even in the basement.
Recording OK. Playback OK.
No App2SD.
-A Samsung Galaxy S2 with official Samsung Rom Android 4.0
App was installable, Receiver was recognized.
But when trying to scan for channels, the button for starting the scan is
not reachable, the Widget is outside the screen.
The Software should be improved, I miss things like ordering the channels.
No App2SD, not able to choose the recording/Timeshifting folder.
Hope this helps.
BR
Tom

Where did you buy the receiver?

Hello guys,
I have this TV Tuner and tried to run it on Asus Transformer Prime TF201 with latest firmware. Unfortunatelly the apps from Google Play crashes during channel scanning.
Pitty.

Where did you get it?

hm... in Poland shows something like that:
http://www.cyfrowypolsat.pl/oferta/tv-mobilna/dekoder-mobilny-m-t-5000.cp
This is very intresting offer because for more less 80 Euro - one-time payment you can get standard programs and few more. You get a receiver and app.
But I think that did receiver get a signal form diffrent than polish transmiter.
Maybe I will try when I go to vacation

[App] Samsung TV remote

Hey all.
Not sure if anyone has noticed, but it (AFAIK) hasn't been mentioned, but there is an app on Samsung Apps that acts as a remote for a Samsung TV. I haven't tested it because I don't have a Samsung TV, but some people might find it useful.
for me, its at the bottom of the app list and not at the top like new releases usually are.
Enjoy

I saw that, but my Sammy isn't a 9 series
Can't find it in samsung apps :/ Only have two apps there.
Been using the remote app on my galaxy s a couple of weeks now, loving it!
I don't have it on my Tab, and I have a 50" Samsung plasma TV. So can someone please post the APK so we can install and try it?
Download it from the Samsung Apps. It work well with my 6740 TV.

How have you got it working on a Series 6 TV?
According to the instructions the App will only work on TV's having [email protected] and published after 2010.
This app is avaible on Samsung app French

Now I'm really confused..... The Series 6 was released in 2008 which is nowhere near the 2010 date Samsung are saying.
EDITED:
I have checked my Series 8 TV and although I have [email protected] it does not list a Wireless Option which for the Remote is mandatory.
My TV is connected via LAN to my Router/Modem.
Are you saying you have a Wireless Dongle attached at the back of the TV?
They've also added a Samsung Easyprint for wireless printing from the Tab via wifi (I believe)
Should be another useful tool for people with Samsung printers.

I have the same TV and setup. To turn on the Wireless Remote option on your TV Menu>Plug N Play>Wireless Remote Control.
That being said, the remote app does not work for me on my UN55C8000. I'm guessing because Samsung wants us to buy their optional wifi remote instead.
Also, the app is available in the Android Market. There are actually 2 versions, one for mobile phones and one specific for the Tab.
Seems to be available in the regular market now.
It's work for my UN46C7000. I don't see why it's don't work on the C8000! Once I shoot up the App, I can see my TV listed.
It's control via WIFI, too bad it'll not control the vol. of my Samsung Sound bar. I think i'll stick with my Harmony One.
Ok, finally got this app working on my C8000. Turns out it was a problem with my home network setup. I use Slinglink to get wired ethernet to my TV components. Slinglink is an ethernet over powerline solution. I grabbed an extra long cat5 cable and connected the TV directly to the router and everything now works. Odd thing is, all the other network and internet functions worked fine over the Slinglink. Im guessing Slinglink creates some sort of network bridge that prevents the two devices from seeing each other.

Is the HTC Hero (rooted 2.2) Compatible?
Hi,
Does anyone know why the market is telling me that my HTC Hero running 2.2 is not supported?
I have a Samsung UE40C6700 TV and would love to get my hands on this app.
Thanks
Thanks
Its galaxy s (or samsung) only. Would somebody mind uploading the APK or throwing a link up somewhere? thanks :-D

Me too. Also I want the ability to send and recieve files.
According to
http://blogs.skype.com/en/2011/08/skype_21_for_android.html
Is your device not on the list? No need to worry...
For those of you using Android 2.2 (Froyo) and above, you should still be able to enable video calling in your Skype settings. Just go to "Skype settings" after launching the app and select "enable video calling".
Unfortunately, if you cannot see the video calling settings, it means your Android phone does not meet the minimum requirements needed to make Skype video calls. Please be aware that video call quality may not be as good as on a certified Android device and only the back camera of the device will work if your device is running on Android 2.2 (Froyo).

Not sure how transformer can not meet the min requirements.
maybe it's so cause our transformers are tegra2 devices

Samsung Galaxy S2 IS a tegra2 mobile phone device, just not a tablet device? and sadly drivers are 2.3.4 based, which again means that 2.3 gingerbread drivers are probably not 3.x compatible anyways..
very sad..
edit: i was wrong, it seems!!
It is now working on my MT4G. It has an option in settings to enable video call. That option does not appear on TF. On mobile I got a very good videpo quality. Since Microsoft took over Skype, things are finally moving. Perhaps tablets are next.
Skickat från min ASUS Eee Pad TF101
Sick and tired of Skype's ****ed up bull****, our Eee Pads can MORE then handle video calling and tegra2 phones use it, its just bull**** plain and simple. They play ****ing games (remember Fring). And no one at Skype will give a straight answer and they have no contact line, emails go unanswered, I assume they simply dont give a **** like most other tech companies these days (can you say dell tech support line? I knew you could).
I'm pretty sure Skype has a reason. It's a business. It wants to make money. It is going to do what ever is most profitable. If you don't like it, start your own VoIP company, convince the majority of the world to use it, then develop an app for every device/OS out there. I'm pretty sure you'll find it's hard to make everyone happy.
With that said, I too look forward to having Skype video chat on the Transformer.

Here is the response from Tech support:
"We understand your concern about the availability of video calling on your ASUS Transformer. We will be happy to assist you with this.
Steve, we are working on adding more Android devices all the time, but we are not able to provide you with an exact time frame for when your device may be supported.
To make Skype video calls on Android device, you will need:
An Android phone running Android 2.2 (Froyo) or above. Front facing camera. Chipset with NEON technology support*. The latest version of Skype for Android (Skype 2.1 for Android and above).
* This specifically does not include some tablets that use the Tegra 2 chipset (e.g. Android tablets and Motorola"

Sixaxis controller?

Is there any chance that the app will be compatible with the sensation? Can anyone make it work on our device? Thanks
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
not for a while, our bluetooth stack doesnt support it...
im sure someone is working on it, as the wiimote and certain BT headphones/headsets arent working either
From what I've heard/read, HTC has really screwed up the BT stack on their phones and have no intention of fixing it. We basically have to wait until a ROM fixes the BT stack on this phone.
Yea I've been trying to get it done and it didn't even give me a bluetooth address. then I tried on Xperia X10, that gave me a blutooth address but didn't connect. I guess we gotta wait for a while.
Hi,
I have read if I get my phone (HTC Sensation 4G) "rooted" (not sure how to do this) and install CyanogenMod 7 (could not find it for Sensation) I could use the SixAxis controller app on my phone.
Does anyone know where I could find CM7 to install on my Sensation (they have it for the MyTouch 4G which seems to be a similar phone, could I install that version of CM7?)?
How can I "root" my device?
Perhaps is there a different method to "tweek" the bluetooth protocol for my phone to pair with the PS3 controller?
I have seen a few youtube videos with the sixaxis working on other phones (Samsung Galaxy S, x10 mini pro, HTC Desire, HTC HD2) and since the Sensation 4G is the newest and best T-Mobile device I assumed there would be some way to get this app to work.
Im desperately trying to use the Sixaxis app (want to do 4 player Mario Kart and 007 via HDMI on my tv with 4 PS3 controllers!!) on my HTC Sensation 4G and if anyone has a way (or update) to make this work please let me know- thank you!

I'm trialing an alpha version of the compatibility checker app that should support more devices. It would be great if some of you could try it out and give me some feedback:

List of USB OTG Host capable android devices

For a new project I have to identify an Android deice that is enabled to work as usb host (USB-OTG). This device should be better not expensive like SGS2 or other top level ones.
Surfing on the web and searching on this forum I have found several device specific threads, but expecially for those devices that need some hack to make USB-OTG work (like changing the kernel).
I would like to have a list of android devices that are ready, out of the box, without voiding warranty.
I kindly ask to add to this thread the model of device that you are sure are already enabled.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, one of my colleagues has the Iconia, it works well with Host USB, but I was looking for a smartphone. The only one I found are over 350 euros, I was trying to find something below 200 euros.
By the way for DHD you can find OTG cables, and I think the chipset is capable of, but maybe you need to flash a modified kernel.

I think dell streak may be used as a USB Host

List of devices with possible HDMI output?

Hi!
I am currently looking for Android devices that have working HDMI output - a dedicated one, no MHL adapter.
Is there a list of devices which have both CyanogenMod support and a working HDMI port? As of now I think the only devices that have a working HDMI port are the Motorola Atrix 4G (which is discontinued), the HTC Evo 4G (only Sprint, not international) and the LG Optimus 2x (maybe).
Right now I am trying to get HDMI running on the Xperia neo, which should also enable HDMI on the Xperia neo V, Xperia Pro, Xperia Arc and maybe more, but I could use help here because I am stuck on the binary drivers (gralloc, overlay, surfaceflinger etc.).
To sum up: Is there a list with HDMI-supported devices available? And is anybody working on HDMI support for other devices? I'd like to exchange knowledge and to dig in deep.
Thanks in advance & kind regards

It will be hard to find any serious efforts towards existing devices, mainly because Motorola was the forerunner of that technology and most of those devices have locked proprietary sources.. Xoom wifi has been unlocked for ages and very little hdmi functionality- you'd have to build your own source from scratch to effectively incorporate the hdmi into the user experience (ie webtop RIP)
The Motorola Triumph has one. Though the hardware is getting old on that device.
