[Q] ICS rom Music Player issue.. - HTC Inspire 4G

Installed Expirez ICS Rom and love the stability
The only bug i've found is that the stock music player tends to 'skitz out' for lack of a better term, when multitasking. starts playing the first like 2 seconds of songs, skips both forward and back songs on the playlist, and sometimes just stops altogether. has anyone else has this issue?

If it's a [Q] thread, it belongs into...?
No, not the General board - the Q&A board!
Thread moved.

I did have the issue, after about 3 minutes it played normal though....

[Q] Why is my music playing bugging out?

I made this thread on the MT4g forums but no one answered
Can someone help me?
"So every now and then my music player will bug out and start skipping songs, pausing, playing, closing, opening, for about ~30seconds and this happens every now and then, how can I stop it?
Running Faux 1.2.8 and Kernel 1.0.7, and I highly dout it's his rom or kernel because no one else has posted about this problem on his thread."
Is what I posted, someone help!
Cool, I'll just never know what's wrong

Best Equalizer w/ Music Player out there

Cut that Beats crap, thats no where close to a real Eq. You want to hear what real music was supposed to be like?
You want a powerful music player that has equalizers for nearly every aspect of your song?
You want to get the recently released jetAudio app. This music player is the most feature packed one I've seen and tried yet.
It is a player that is for Windows and it was recently ported to Android.
I blast Dubstep though my headphones daily so I needed a nice Eq for that. This is the best sounding player I've seen in a while.
It supports nearly every format availible, has insane amounts of equalizers, can change the speed of song, different effects (crossfade, cut, etc), can post to twitter/facebook for what you are playing if you want, has some fancy animations and more.
If you are looking for a music player then use this one.
Play Store Link (free): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jetappfactory.jetaudio
It is currently recently released so it may have bugs. From what I've seen its working 100% though.
Also, if you want an ICS themed music player, check out the Apollo app from CM9 (google around to find the apk). It is awesome as well and is themeable (it only has a dark and light theme as of now though).
Thanks, great find! Looks nicer than PowerAMP.
Great!
Looks great, I'll definitely give this a try. I just wish they decided to use the Holo theme rather than going for a shiny-iPhone skin... but I'm OCD!
Any idea if the headphone controls actually work with our phone? I haven't had any success with even playing/pausing using any other headset :/
Anyone have any feedback as far as comparing this to poweramp+beats?

Going to try it since you mentioned dubstep... I would of said dnb but dubstep works too

Also going to try this one since there's been mention of both dubstep and dnb on this thread...

Wow, amaaaazing, how awesome that JetAudio Basic player is... (And for FREE! Not just 15-day-trial like PowerAMP free version... )
Get JetAudio Basic and rate it!
Anyone got an idea how to get a JetAudio Basic-widget on the homescreen? Like a mini-player with play/pause? :/
Loving the eqs on this, just wish it could work with my play music since I don't keep much music on the phone since no expandable SD card :/

Does it have themes ? I like the free theme holo ICS theme makes poweramp look nicer

The only headphones controls I've gotten to work are the Samsung gs3 earbuds. And I mean the only ones

How can you listen to music on 8 gigs? You have to change the songs almost daily

Without BBE+ this player is not that great, however BBE Sound Inc. will soon come out with there own player app for Android soon, some time this year.

ROM/KERNEL Combo that doesn't introduce skipping music?

Howdy all, after some advice please. Been trying a few different ROM'S & Kernels and can't find a combination that doesn't skip while playing music. Maybe I have a dud phone? It is pretty random and not all the time but is very annoying.
Baseband V20c currently using meemo's DNA GB 3.3.3 ROM with samno's new super stock Kernel.

Probably has more to do with sd card and read ahead speeds/caching
Try an app like SD speed increase and try different settings to see which works best. 4096 works best for me. Also minimizes micro skips in video recording too...
Thanks mate will try that, had myself convinced it was from using sd boost at one stage!

Going to jinx myself but I think it is my external sd card. Bummer so much for getting a 32GB class 10 card. Music hasn't skipped once from the internal card.
Ahhh, would you believe it skipped while typing this!
Think I need a new phone.
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA
Still happening
I have flashed a heap of different ROM's and Kernel's to no avail. Intermittent skipping on internal and external cards.
Can the baseband effect this? I am on V20c and maybe that is why the ROM/Kernel's are playing up?
Don't want to go to cyanogenmod (loose 3D) but it is the one that seems to work best.
Maybe I need to get a Gnote and just keep the O3D as a 3D camera.
Any ideas, willing to try almost anything now, love my tunes and it is driving me crazy
From what I know, it can't be the baseband. It only manage your network, I think. Flashing rom with wrong baseband-the only effect is, you don't have network.
Well been running cyanogenmod now and not one skip. DSP manager is pretty great as well. Might just have to make do with out the 3d I guess.

Couldn't help myself, flashed back to stock and so far so good. Looks like no ROM's for me for a while, well at least until ICS!
Try Promethius ROM + Promethius kernel and set longer audio buffer in PowerAMP (+750ms). Works for me.

Well stock didn't seem to last to long without a skip!
Switched to Power Amp on your suggestion and put both the options for audio skip (buffer & priority) on full and it seems to have done the trick!

Just wanted to share my two cents... I love the app called n7player... it has a neat feature for streaming music to itself to fix the skip issue... it works great but it eats battery...
Then one day I tried playing some music that was FLAC format... where a single 3 min song takes up like 25 megabytes...
And I had to download a special app that could play flac. And I am amazed that a 25 mgbyte file plays flawlessly with out a single skip... but standard mp3 at about 5 mgbytes skips every few seconds...
So I tried this with several other audio formats... from .wav to .wma to .mpg and they all played fine
All played from my ext SD by the way.. so I don't think it is a problem with read write speed..
Whichever leads me to question...
Anyone know if our phones have a hard time decoding/extracting mp3 compressed audio

Thanks for the tips. Might try out some flac and see how it goes. What program did you use? I have power Amp now and that says it will play flac.

EDIT: I was wrong n7 player does have Flac support
Well balls, my phone has random skipping with flac as well.
I have tried a heap of different players, codecs, roms and kernels and yet I get random skipping. Besides the 3d I hate this phone.
Maybe LG should have just released it as a 3d camera.

Even the camera is bad.
Rant
I feel as if the o3d was rushed, like they had the hardware part down but not the software part. So we got beta software they released it then they lost intrest in the o3d ($800 from me) they released other phones and then came ics and they were like, oh sh!t lets give them gb yeah that should keep them busy till the next version of android.
We gonna get ics when all the other devices spit on ics and look at it with shame ang lg will be like look theres ics we promised you there it is and will be like, but but what about jellybean which they will respond.. whoa we never said anything about jellybean buy the new 2013 Optimus 3d maX Ultra With ICS then you might get jellybean when android 5.0 comes out lol.
went off topic Also on the Gnexus so it depends i use to have stuttering when i had crossfade on and the stock player has never stuttered.
CyanogenMod works great, except for the fact that when I use it in my car through aux it pauses itself and even when it does play it sounds stuffed!
Can't win with this thing.
Will keep posting any updates here just in case someone else is in the same boat,

In stock or CyanogenMod? Either way I always turn haptic feedback off. Might try the RC builds to see if they fix the aux problem.

stock noticed the stuttering occurred during me touching the captive buttons and the captive buttons lighting up and after the have gone off after switching the feedback of the stuttering hasn't happened tried inducing skipping in poweramp by skipping through songs fast and pushing power on and off nothing happened. maybe its a voltage control issue.
My music 320kbps 48khz 3-9 min
128 kbps 44khz mixes
192 kbps
haven't tested flac
try this also see if it helps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.bluesteel.cka&hl=en
The only thing that works is cyanogenmod. Just don't turn the volume up past 75% when using auxiliary out (car etc) as it pauses by itself. Loud as at 75% anyway and no skipping / glitching while playing music!

[Q] How much does Minfreemanager help multitasking?

So I have read several places using minfreemanager helps with HOX multitask issues somewhat. My question is to what extent? Can you say use web browser, answer a text, then come back to same spot? What about same thing with gaming, streaming music in background and using gps? I really really love this phone, AMAZING display and build design. I am even willing to deal with the 10gb HD, but I stream music, read ebooks and use GPS alot. I just left sprint and want this phone sooo bad. Any input or personal experience on the matter will be appreciated and +1'd thanks!
I haven't used minfree personally, but I do have CleanROM installed. I can listen to Pandora while typing this, switch over to YouTube and watch a video (pandora pauses automatically) exit the video and keep typing in the xda-app and Pandora keeps playing where I left off in the song.
Is this the functionality you're looking for? I've been told the memory management settings in that ROM can improve it even further but I have yet to try those. The web browser isn't a fair test because the stock browser always tells it to reload.
I don't game so I can't comment on that.

Ok, just tried Pandora, GPS navigation, and I can start typing in here and switch to texting someone without it killing any of the apps. All my text stays on the screen in both apps. Not sure how much more you'd want really.

Player Pro vs Power Amp

Hey everybody. Just wanted some opinions on two of the best music players for android. I've been using Player Pro since the OG Droid days and I love it. But I bought Poweramp last year and I love it pretty much the same. I've been using both players for a long time. But I can't do both anymore cause I want to make playlists for the first time in forever lol. Can someone please help me choose which one to stick with?
Personally I like power amp and it's EQ capabilities. Power amp also has add ons I believe but I haven't experimented with them. Also like how it integrates with car dashboards like car home ultra

Poweramp is superior

I prefer Player Pro
It has a good equaliser and excellent sound , widgets etc...

I prefer player pro. It's the only one I am able to sync playcounts and ratings to iTunes (via isyncr ).
I use poweramp. I don't need too many features, and most of those I need are shown right after start.
Poweramp.sounds much.better.

For me, Poweramp(beta-preview-build-790) is the best music player. :
