[Q] Changing radio - HTC Desire S

Hi, i have a S-Off, rooted DS and wish to change the radio (PG88IMG.zip). But after adb pushing the PG88IMG.zip, and adb reboot bootloader, and chose bootloader in the fastboot screen. My phone says "No image or wrong image". My current radio is 20.281.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M and wish to change to 20.71.30.0833U_3831.17.00.16_M . Help?

You do no that the radio image your tryin to flash is for ics roms and you dont need to adb push the the image all you need to do is download the radio image then put it on the root of ya sdcard but dont put it in a folder or anything then boot into bootloader and it shud flash afta that reboot as normal but once it has rebooted itself reboot into recovery and format all partions except sdcard then reboot again and u shud be hunky dory
This is what i done and it worked you just get a message in recovery sayin u have to format cache but you shud be fine

Extract boot.img from you ROM then
reboot to bootloader, flashboot and from PC:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
I have read most of the doc's it say's HTC desire s can be S-OFF.
Since im a newbie...please tell me, what do u mean by Flash boot.Img seperstly?u mean Flashing the CM 7.1?
How to S-OFF for my device ...Revolutionary do not qork for hboot 2.00.2 know?? any latest releases?
Thanks
No revolutionary wont work on this hboot. If you want revolutionary you need to downgarde. But with flash boot I was ment , you don't have full root so when you flash new rom, it wont overwrite old boot.img

Extracting boot.img???
you mean to say extract to root of the SD card and then do
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot..... thru the attched window method.. i mean thru fast boot...so this will be done after i do flashing CM7.1 and wiping data/cache/dalvik cache right??

[Q] Boot Loop after Revolutionary - NOOB

Hello,
I am a noob here. My question is regarding rooting the Sensation. I rooted mine successfully and installed ISC.
Now on my friends device, we followed the same steps. After using Revolution, i booted to boot mode. When we tried to install pg58img if said SID Incorrect, Install Failed.
I did delete the pg58img file after from the main directory of the SD card after.
It is now caught in a boot loop. I can't seem to get out of.
Any recommendations?
Currently has HSBOOT 1.27
I did search in the forums and could not find a solution
I think that you should have flashed 1.23 first, then flash the ROM and now after a reboot you should flash hboot 1.27.
I also got stuck in a bootloop and all I could do was to run my RUU file, get back to stock and start over.
Thanks for the response. But where do I restart from? I can't boot the phone, I can't access it from the PC. It just loops.
That's where I am stuck

You haven't installed one and no you don't want h boot 1.23 because you will be stuck with s on unable to flash boot.IMG or radios. 1.27 has an exploit so you're able to get back to 1.17 h boot.
Also Revolutionary doesn't support 1.27.
You're stuck in a bootloop because you have the wrong h boot version for running GB Rom.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G with Beats Audio using xda premium
Hello thanks for the response. So whats my next step? Find 1.17, add it to the root directory and it should work?
Read this guide, it will explain the process and link you to the files you will need and explains how to flash boot.IMG

Attached is a photo of the boot screen. I tried looking the file with 1.17 failed to update. I tried one again with 1.27, it installed but still loops. And I cannot access recovery.
I know I may be doing the wrong thing, but I am lost at this point...
Okay do this, you need to find a recovery.IMG for the latest CWM or 4ext, I am not near my pc so I cannot upload one. Search the development forum, they do exist. You then turn off your phone and remove the battery and sd card, insert the sd into a reader on your pc. Copy the recovery.IMG to your sd card and change the name to PG58IMG.zip. Safely remove card from your pc, put it back in your phone, put battery back in. Boot into h boot and when it asks if you want to do update choose yes, it will update. Now you have custom recovery to flash custom ROM. You will still bootloop because you now have to flash an ICS ROM.
Do yourself a favor while you have the sd card in your pc and put a ICS ROM zip on it. Before you can flash your Rom you have to remove your sd card again same as before and delete the PG58IMG.zip from your sd card, safely remove it, put it back in phone boot into h boot scroll down to recovery, choose it by pushing power, now choose install zip option then choose zip from sd card, scroll down to the ROM zip you put there and install it.
You should be good now.

Your awesome!!!
YOUR AWESOME... Everything worked so far.
I was able to use CID to 11111111 and use your instructions. It did allow me to use a GB rom, but still not an ICS rom. I am assuming I will have to download another PG158IMG file ?
Atleast I am out of the loop for GB though!
If you want to run ICS you are on the right h boot 1.27. Which are you trying to flash? Check your mid. Use adb while in fastboot and type "fastboot getvar mid".
Glad to hear it's working now.

[Q] Bricked HTC Sensation 4G ?!

Today , i successfully rooted my HTC Sensation 4G, everything was working totally fine, but then I wanted to install and custom ROM , called Super Villain Shensation.
I followed everything like the instructions told me to, but it says that the installation was aborted. and when i want to reboot my phone, it just stays on the white HTC logo screen, and doesnt do anything. I am able to get to the bootloader, but when i try recovery the same thing happens. what do i do !?
First of all, it is not bricked. Moving forward you need to re-download the ROM to make sure it is not a corrupted download, then try to flash again.
In order it would be:
-re download ROM again (I would personally suggest a ginger bread ROM that doesn't require you to flash firmware and such)
-download super wipe
-put them both in your sd card, somewhere where you could find the files
-go into your recovery and flash the super wipe zip (found in the Android Revolution thread)
-flash ROM
-let it boot (it will take about 5 minutes)
-done

Need tothrow the pg85.img zip on the root of you're sd card then boot into bootloader. Follow on screen instructions.
Sent From Space Using My ICS Flavored Sensation
Go to your bootloader like previous poster said and paste this file in the root of your sd card.
-Press the up volume rocker once you get the prompt to do it
If everything goes the way is suppose to go, you will be able to get into recovery again and flash whatever ROM you like.

What is you hboot if it's 1.18 or below and since you're r now s-on you need to run an ruu for ics that is closes to you stock rom. To upgrade your firmware to an ics compatible firmware. If it's 1.2x then you can htc-dev unlock and if you want s-off use jb then flash 4ext recovery even if your just htc-dev unlock. If your just htc-dev unlocked in 4ext enable smart flash. Need help to restore original rom.

I really messed up. I didn't do enough reading to upgrade to ICS. I can only access hboot. I downloaded RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.50.531.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_223976_signed which is supposed to be tmobile 4g us original rom.
I do not know how to install it. It is not a zip file so when I go into recovery it does not see it.
Are there complete instructions on how to install this file. I do not want to miss a step and mess up my phone further. Soory for not doing proper reasearch and have to bother someone. I was too overconfident before starting procedure.

The RUU is a windows executable file you just have to run, with your phone connected via usb.
Jus remember that it will wipe you phone for all data, so be sure to have a backup.
It should be a zip file and it should be placed in the root folder of your ad card I know this because I had to do it on my sensation 4g let me do some checking through the post and see if I can get you a link and down load the correct ruu so you can upgrade to ics hang tight this is easy

While in h boot, click on fastboot by pushing power button when in h boot, then plug your phone into pc and run ruu.exe as administrator. As long as you have fastboot drivers installed you should be able to run the ruu while the phone is in fastboot.

if you want to use the ruu.exe(restores everything back to stock) then you have to relock first the bootloader
the command is fastboot oem lock
if you want to flash a rom from recovery then:
flash 4ext recovery
enable smartflash from 4ext(because you are on S-ON)
flash the rom
done
note: don't rename it as recovery.img just recovery

about the ruu.exe you don't have to rename anything at all
just run it as it is from pc(double click on it)
only connect the device to pc in fastboot mode(from bootloader and it should say fastboot usb)
by the way do you have 4ext installed?
and secondly do you want to return to stock condition or just want to flash a custom rom?
I would like to not have stock but at this point I'll take an. Thing. I'm trying to use kgs to get firmware seeing if that is my Problem. I used a recovery to be honest I'm now sure

Please help!

Hi, i unlocked the bootloader on my HTC sensation, and flashed CWM recovery, it worked fine. I then went into recovery, and in my haste to install Cyanogenmod10, i wiped the factory settigs and the cache, after that i realized i'd gone wrong and tried a backup but by this point, there was no ROM to backup... Anyway i flashed CMX and it only took about 20 seconds which i thought was very odd. Reboted it and got stuck on the boot animation for about 35 minutes until i realized someting was terribly wrong... I installed another ROM and same thing, stuck on the bootscreen. Would anybody at all be able to help me to solve this problem or is it totally beyond all hope?
Did you s-off? If not, flash 4ext recovery, or you could mannualy flash a boot.img rfom adb.
If you are not s-off you have to use 4ext recovery and have smart flash enabled

And verify md5sum before you flash any zip.
You can put rom.zip from the correct RUU for your mobile on the sd card and it will flash in fastboot by itself, and ruu has data for all partitions so it will surely help you. Dont worry, just search this forum for "sensation ruu guide".
