If your having keyboard lag issues, try using GoSMS, it pretty much completely eliminated the keyboard lag which I had quite often using the default SMS app.

I honestly tried all the major keyboards but I still had lag issues so I just settled with Swiftkey.

Would be awesome if someone could properly port it to our phones. So snappy.

Hmmm...dunno what to say.
The G2x is just AOSP android...just look for anything that is "senseless" or download launcher pro from the market...done
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
You can even download the stock gingerbread launcher from the market as well or adw launcher ex. Try a couple of custom launchers and see which one you like best

Been using the new touchwiz for S III all morning and I feel it is the smoothest launcher available for our phone. Just wish it was more customizable like Nova.

I thought sense was more than just a launcher? Does it take over any other aspects of the phone?

No. Just launcher and app tray. I miss the big htc clock.

Came to write this. Sense affects just about all aspects of the phone.
I enjoy Sense. Am I the only one?

He was saying no, as in touchwiz doesn't affect other aspects of the phone.

Same. Just not fond of the multitasking issue.
I actually really enjoy Sense as well. One of the reasons I bought the phone to be honest..

I hate touch wiz. Sony's timescape oth is visually the most intriguing and snappiest skin iv'e seen on a phone.
Why is the chrome browser so awful on our device under ICS? Gnexus reviews seem to rave about chrome on that device?

Change ROMs. It works well on DianXin ICS. I know that for sure.
I have had no issue with chrome on any of the ics roms, and like it better than any of the mobile browsers. Maybe a different kennel would help.
Tapatalking from my v.2 Beaten Dark Unicorn Glacier
I found that increasing my auto memory manager settings to something more aggressive helped chrome behave better.

I'm running the latest trickdroid now, which is quite amazing by the way, and I would like to know if its possible to have the HTC keyboard without the arrows..and if possible without the voice icon..I find myself hitting it very often when I mean to type a symbol down below.
I don't wanna try another keyboard, swype used to be my favorite but Idk it seems different and a lot smaller now compared to my likings on this keyboard.
If you guys got any suggestions, I'd be happy to see what's up.
Thanks

The axiom rom has the arrows removed from the keyboard. I haven't heard of any that resolve the microphone.

Does anyone else notice how bad the sense keyboard is? The key detection is awful, there is delay on almost everything and it's plain ugly . Anybody have any recomendations?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I've actually always liked the Sense keyboard on this phone. To me, they got it right with Sense 4, where previous versions had awful keyboards. I don't have any problem with detection or lag.
I quite liked Swype on older Sense versions on my old Desire Z. Swiftkey seems pretty popular with XDA folks, also.
Sense keyboard got even better with jellybean. I find it faster than swiftkey. For some reason there is a slight lag to bring up swiftkey.
The thing that I hated most was the arrow keys, which they have fixed by giving us an option to have them on or not.

It works well, but I like the look of AOSP better, and the fact that it has quick reply
Lol, I stick with a sense based Rom mostly because I love the sense keyboard and arrows.. lol.. call me crazy I guess but for me there's a lot to like about sense.

They added the arrows in sense 4 so that when that stupid black menu bar pops up it covers up the arrows and doesn't move the keyboard up, that way we don't have to change the way we hold the phone when a menu button is required (that is, before they released the button remapping fix)

I was using thumb keyboard for months but got sick of some of its glitches. I used the HTC keyboard for a while and I really enjoyed it..first sense keyboard in 4 years that I've liked. Then I just installed the stock ICS keyboard and I'm super happy now
I was going to attach it to this post but I guess I can't from within the xda app...
