Why is the chrome browser so awful on our device under ICS? Gnexus reviews seem to rave about chrome on that device?

Change ROMs. It works well on DianXin ICS. I know that for sure.
I have had no issue with chrome on any of the ics roms, and like it better than any of the mobile browsers. Maybe a different kennel would help.
Tapatalking from my v.2 Beaten Dark Unicorn Glacier
I found that increasing my auto memory manager settings to something more aggressive helped chrome behave better.

I know this will probably inspire a lot of flaming, but I really don't care about others opinions. I'm interested in porting a touchwiz rom and need some good advice as which phone to port from, and blah blah blah onwards. Anyone have some pointers?

I'll give the launcher a try if I can get my phone to agree with aosp radios.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yeah, this is the same launcher I've tried before and it's way too buggy for me to use. It won't add widgets or remove shortcuts without crashing. That was why I'd rather just build a touchwiz rom that way the launcher isn't really much of an issue
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
I don't think getting a TW rom is possible or if it is would take a god to get it up and going.

Well some devs have sense on the captivate, its just buggy. I would think touchwiz would be easier because its basically aosp

touchwiz is FAR from AOSP.....
it is as intertwined with framework, drivers, and dependencies as sense is.
i just dont see it happening on this device.
Lovely..... Touchwiz launchers hate me and we can't port it. Looks like I'm stuck with sense.

Sell your inspire on ebay/craigslist and buy a galaxy s 2 if you like touchwiz so much.
Yeah right. XD couldn't get enough to buy a gs2 to save my life. Too many low ballers. I'll just wait on the nexus prime I suppose.

I haven't tried too many ROMs, but I'm running InfernoSense right now and am very happy with it. Battery life is always my main concern, and this ROM is great for that. I think it's slightly less responsive/snappy/whatever than others, but I'll take that tradeoff any day.

Using Dark Unicorn Resurrected and loving it!
Came from Android Revolution HD which was great also. The only thing I am having now is random signal loss with the Panache radio (sending sms/mms, calls, etc...). Gonna try a different radio.
It took me awhile but I finally am getting annoyed by all of the "whats the best rom?" or "Which one do you prefer?" ... Reason being, it seems almost impossible for the poster to not see the other ones. Seems like one starts every other day! I really don't like to complain, but c'mon maan!

So I haven't been on this forum for a while. I'm using Ice Cold Sandwich and frankly I hate it. Sure, it's still in testing, but I have to pull the battery multiple times a day.
Is there an ICS ROM that doesn't require constant reboots and most everything works?
I have already ran opensensation, hypersensation, hypernonsense, virquistrious 4.0.2.could someone recommend a stable, fast and reliable one.

Hi,
Have you tried ARHD and use the non-sense script?
The very best non sense ROM I've ever ran is aokp eye candy. I'm running it now. It is so different and fabulous! So much customization! I love it! It truly lives up to its name! I can't say enough about it! I fell in love with aokp! I highly recommend it! Its really different! A totally different experience!
I don't miss sense at all. It has extras like ROM control. You can set your cpu and other things. Its really nice. Only thing I didn't like was the keyboard so I changed it to a swipe keyboard from playstore, problem solved. You really should give it a try. Its awesome!

Nope it will not. There are some differences in ics that his kernel won't be compatible with. Well just have to wait until he makes one for ics.

no problems running sense 3.6 on my rezound at all and so far, 3.6 seems ok on the bolt considering its a stock rom.
my rezound also runs fine on 3.6
2 reasons why HTC will not update bolt or rezound to sense 4.0, 1... To make you buy a new phone with upgraded software and 2... Everyone would see the Rezound is still Superior to Inc 4g if it was running same software.

Does anyone else notice how bad the sense keyboard is? The key detection is awful, there is delay on almost everything and it's plain ugly . Anybody have any recomendations?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I've actually always liked the Sense keyboard on this phone. To me, they got it right with Sense 4, where previous versions had awful keyboards. I don't have any problem with detection or lag.
I quite liked Swype on older Sense versions on my old Desire Z. Swiftkey seems pretty popular with XDA folks, also.
Sense keyboard got even better with jellybean. I find it faster than swiftkey. For some reason there is a slight lag to bring up swiftkey.
The thing that I hated most was the arrow keys, which they have fixed by giving us an option to have them on or not.

They added the arrows in sense 4 so that when that stupid black menu bar pops up it covers up the arrows and doesn't move the keyboard up, that way we don't have to change the way we hold the phone when a menu button is required (that is, before they released the button remapping fix)
