Stock Email App: Offline IMAP email Issue? - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

I have the GT-2010 (wifi only) so sometimes I want to create emails, read them, and delete when I happen to be offline. Account I have issue with is a non-gmail account.
I've noticed that the stock email app which does look great actually doesn't seem to work for me in offline mode. I'm using IMAP, and it downloads all emails fine and I can read, delete etc offline, but then when I connect up again all the reads / deletes / moves haven't been registered.
I checked the settings and there doesn't seem to be anything obvious. I've also tried K-9 which doesn't look as good on tablet, but does seem to sync back ok when re-connecting.
Anyone else found this issue with stock app?

unable to read gmail fwd emails

i have gmail imap set up so that the phone grabs new emails every hour. So far it's working great, but I'm having trouble viewing emails that are forwarded to this gmail account from my other email accounts (I have them forwarded to gmail so I don't have to run around everywhere fetching them). Does anyone know what the problem is? This is getting rather frustrating, as I'd have to check m.gmail.com on opera instead in order to view those fwd mails. help would be much appreciated.
Not sure why it wouldn't work for you. I don't seem to have that problem. Do you use pop to that gmail box at all? I know I had to set the POP settings in gmail to "When messages are accessed with POP Keep GMail's copy in the Inbox."
I don't see anything else that would keep something from downloading to your phone.

Can't open PDF Attachments with Email Client

I apologize if this has been asked before, but i haven't been able to find what i need through search tool.
We're demoing a Galaxy Tab here at work, and one thing we have got stuck on is the email client. We use Domino email server, so when setting up the email account options, we chose "other" for the account type. This works, we can send and receive mail just fine; however, there is one problem. When we receive a PDF attachment, there are no options to view/preview/save the attachment. We've installed Adobe Reader from the market to see if that would help, but no luck.
We can receive text files and other files and view them without issue. We also tried sending the same PDF attachment to our test gmail account. The gmail client opened the attachment without any problems.
Any ideas? Is this a strange issue with the "other" account type ? We're stuck.
Well it works fine here using the email app (not the gmail one) with a gmail account
Maybe because i updated to Firmware JM6? I don't know..
I have a corporate account configured on my tab (Zimbra) and everything is fine using the standard mail app (I can fetch and open attached pdf files).
Have you tried to configure the account through Accounts and Sync in Settings, instead of using the mail configuration in mail app? Don't know if it an be different, but I have configured that way and it's working .. just remember to disable contacts sync if you don't want to mesh contacts from corporate
Install Blackmoon attachsave from the market

really annoying issue with gmail, help plz!

Hey guys,
I tried to find a solution for this...havent found one yet. I have 2 gmail accounts synced on my captivate (running perception 10). One of the accounts is a google apps account the goes with the email extension [email protected] Now ever since I added this account on my captivate all the mail shows up read on the phone and on the online gmail client. All new mail shows up as read and it is really turning into a problem because it is my work account and I need to know about the new emails as they come. I have tried reflashing, removing the account and adding it again and nothing has worked so far. Any one have any possible solutions?
I am having problems with g mail as well. It will not send emails out but I can receive with no problems. I tried the email client built into the phone and it sends out just fine.

are you using outlook (or any other client) to pull in mail from this address? My wife had this same exact issue and we had to change her gmail pop settings to "keep gmail's copy in the inbox" as opposed to "mark gmail's copy as read", which was set originally. So when Outlook pulled her emails in, it marks gmail's copy as read causing her phone's copy to be marked as read.
hope this helps.

[Q] mail app not syncing

I just can't get the mail app to sync. So the live tile has never shown anything, and it is on. It just never syncs! I have to check mail from my phone or open the gmail in the desktop browser. This is bad as this is my only computer.
Have you turned off notifications for mail somehow? Charms-Settings-Change PC settings-Notifications?

no, I just checked again. They are on.
Do you use any mail accounts other than Gmail? If so, and those aren't working either, then there's some other problem.
However, if it's just Gmail, you can think Google for that. They disabled adding new devices using Exchange ActiveSync connections to Gmail a few weeks ago. Feel free to write them a nasty-gram about it; it seems a pretty dickish move on their part IMO (note that existing connections still work, they just don't allow new ones). Not that they're obligated to provide any such service, but bull**** like this is why I don't rely on "cloud" services to any extent that I can help it; when you don't control the service, you are at the mercy of service provider's whims.
As a work-around, enable IMAP access in Gmail settings, and then manually add the IMAP/SMTP account to your Mail app on the tablet. That should work fine, but you'll lose a lot of the integration benefits; things like contacts and calendars and such will need to use different services instead of all going through EAS.

I have a yahoo account on it too. But that also doesn't work.
Have you tried syncing manually using the Mail app? Open the app, right-click or swipe from top or bottom, and select Sync. If it doesn't work, you should get an error message.
For what it's worth, my Surface RT happily syncs both my Gmail and Yahoo accounts, in addition to several others (my work account which is also over EAS but to an actual Exchange server, my old university account which is the same, and a personal IMAP account).

Yes, most of the time that works. I don't get an error message. But sometimes I know I have an email, because my phone will tell me. But I will hit sync like five times and I can't see any new emails.
started having the same problem
my mail app has also started having syncing issues... this is with both outlook and gmail!! it was working very well 3 days ago... does anyone have the same issues?!
I have the same problem. Mail stops auto syncing and live tile no longer works. Only way to fix it is to uninstall the app, reboot, reinstall and then it works again... for a while then stops syncing again =(

Read the end of this article - particularly if you are syncing gmail from other devices in addition to the Surface - as you will be hitting the gmail single POP access problem: http://woodygems.wordpress.com/2007/01/24/hello-world/

Stock Email app, I feel lame I can't figure this out myself

Looked around didn't see a solution for this. For my personal email account (through my ISP) that I have configured in the stock e-mail app. With every phone I had in the past, if I either downloaded the emails to my PC clearing them from the server, or went into the online web app and deleted them, when I refreshed the email on my phone I would only see the emails that still exist on the server. My new Z3 however persists and still shows the emails that I had deleted/downloaded and are no longer on the server. I checked every option and can't find any way to fix this. Thoughts?
What E-mail service do you use?
sorry.. my answer was not relevant to the question.
Have you tried re-adding your account? I had an issue where the email never updated (had to do it manually). Re-added my hotmail account, all good now.
