Virtuous Saga v.1.0.0 camera.apk - HTC Desire S

Hi,
In the Virtuous Saga thread under development it is said that if you reinstall camera apk from system\apps you get the panorama mode back. Curious as I am I tried that, but there seems not to be any camera.apk in this zip!
Can someone explain? Is another ZIP meant te be source of this camera app?
Thanks!
Con
PS to mods:
I am active on XDA for about two or three years now. I never had to ask questions, because I actually search and read... Therefore I was unpleasantly surprised when I noticed that I can't post in the development thread. I believe that I am know asking help on a specific rom in a thread that is not intended for this...

Search for HTCCamera.apk in /system/app/.
You have to make 10 posts or so... to be able to post in the development section.

Thanks, I found it!
But after installing it there is no extra panorame mode.
That doesn't surprise me, but it's the same app that was already installed...
Does someone know how to get this panorama option in the scenes menu?

Thanks zyotty, for replying.
It is still not clear to me though... Do you, after having done as you describe, have amaze running, or the standard htccamera.apk? And did you install amaze from Play Store, or do you have an apk for that?
Thanks again!

Yes, you can use ES File Explorer (don't forget to activate "root explorer" function, and mount file system in the app) if you don't have RootExplorer installed.

Haha! I have been using ES File Explorer every now and then for years, but I did not know the Root Explorer feature! ;-) Thanks for pointing that out.
The permissions seemed to be okay as they were, nevertheless I reinstalled again, but no panorama mode... I'll leave it there, because one of these days that will probably come in one of the many new ROMs anyway...

Some of them will need to be pushed and installed using adb (see sig) as they can't be installed in the usual manner.

Also wondering
For guys who havent seen my previous similar LWP before: This is Google Stock LWP Nexus which i have modded and extracted from stock and it appears I deleted camera permission but not network permission. The stock one uses that permission for Google Map LWP which needs internet access If I find time, I will delete it but go ahead and check that in your stock LWP permissions (use adb to pull Livewallpapers.apk and use apktool to decompile it, then look into manifest file). No you wont get malware stuff and u will be fine
BTW if I didnt want you guys know about that, why did I show it on youtube lol you guys made my day!

2 reasons not working for you.
1)You didn't copy the apk files to sdcard correctly. copying the file again and rebooting can solve the issue.
2) You are running a non-compatible rom. These are Google Modded stock files which should work for all devices. Please mention your device and Rom version
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once again resolution makes the lwp weird. On my aria (a mdpi device) whenever you touch the screen, the response happens on the far right of the screen. This probably could be fixed easily by just modifying the nexus lwp from the aria itself. you can get it in the CM7 thread or from the upload I gave you 5 or 6 months back. (btw, when can I expect that request?)

Sorry if I came off as snobbish or any other word you can use to describe my wording in my last post.
1. Per your directions, rebooted and tried to install, but to no avail.
2. Samsung Moment 2.1, rom can be found here:http://forum.sdx-developers.com/roms/ti-x-moment-rom-1-6c-1911/. LWPs weren't enabled from the beginning, but as it stands, I can play most that are on the market.
These are nice. Working great on stock ROM. Thanks

These looks really cool, great job. However MegaUpload isn't playing ball with me, not even loading the download page. Just want to check if anyone could consider adding a mirror of some sort, it would be very much appreciated.
EDIT: Fail on my part, MegaUpload works fine, again thanks to the work put into these, you can never get enough Live Wallpapers.

honeycomb bootanimation

Hey all, I know this is old but I couldn't find the honeycomb bootanimation in these forums. I wanted it to fully complete my honeycomb theme for CM7, and after some digging around I managed to find it on another forum.
EDIT:As per request, I've made a few flashable zips for this bootanimation. I've tested each out and they should work if your using CWM3, sorry about the previous posting of flashable zip that didn't work! I've corrected the mistake and hope that you all enjoy this animation as much as I do.
If you haven't completely read this thread and are new to the rooting 'scene' each rom is different, the animations can be placed into different places depending on what your running be it /data/local/ , /system/media/ , or /system/customize/resource/ . It's up to YOU to know where it belongs as I've made each zip for each location. If you don't know where it belongs, get to reading your roms thread in the Dev section and see if there is any information there.
And remember.. NANDROID first!! I will not be held responsible for anything happening to your phone or life because of this. Although if the flash fails you'll either be left with your original animation or a black screen. I'd much rather you use Root Explorer or some other file manager with root access to do this so you'll know where to place the bootanimation.zip in the future.. but thats completely up to you.
Enjoy and let me know if this works/doesn't work and I'll do my best to help you- I'm not a serious developer nor will I take the title of devoloper as I only have a basic understanding of code and how the android system works.
Anyone want to make this a flashable zip? I would be eternally greatful! Also what are the dimensions on this guy? Fit an incredible screen?
Yup I have it running on mine and it looks GORGEOUS.

I've tried other apps that say root explorer, but couldn't get them to work. They might work but I bought root explorer, easy and well worth the money. On two different roms i've used you have to place the zip in system \customize\resource and name it exactly like the existing bootanimation. Same with audio. Example VZW_bootanimation.zip just rename original adding (.bak) incase you need to go back.

I agree, root explorer is a valuable tool if your planning on customizing your phone out. Its well worth the money and has replaced every file manager I've ever used. Great for me since I like to do things on the fly when I'm not home.

What permissions should it have? So far I've been unable to get it to work. I either get the default "android" or a black screen. Either way it boots anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter, but it's just fun to change things around some.

It looks like a reboot it's needed after replacement (also wiped dalvik cache within recovery don't know if it's really needed), otherwise there are many fc from the market and the search button doesn't work.

looks good but i liked how i was able to access dropbox in ES. looks like the only other file manager that has this feature is astro. ill give that a try.

Tried SE, still not able to move anything into system/app. It was suggested In the viper thread to try reflashing elemental first, then dirty flash viper. If that doesn't work only thing to do would be to completely wipe. I did come from ICS without wiping everything in twrp (ran the wipe in aroma though). Could that have anything to do with it? I know that's farfetched but I'm not sure what else it could be.
Your image shows you copied to system not system/ app

i know. re read the OP
edit: just an update. i dirty flashed both viper and elemental and im still unable to move the files. only thing left is to do a complete wipe again.
Make a zip to flash in twrp. Or use a zip from themes that flashes system apps... Open with 7zip and replace those files with yours.. then close zip. Flash in twrp.

i finally had enough time to do a complete wipe. this time i am now able to move files into system/app with the viper file explorer. es file explorer is still not allowing me to move them correctly. i havent seen any reports on this anywhere (xda, other forums, etc) so im not sure whats going on with the app. its definitely updated for JB so im a bit confused. thanks for the replies everybody, appreciate your time. :good:

Ew cwm. Does cwm not have a built in file explorer like twrp?
