It is a special card called "white card" in Chinese. It is essentially a SIM Card with keys or say codes that matches a S58 file.
You can see the result. The picture of my one x is below:

So.... did you guys make this white card? Buy it? How does it work? How do we get one? Details please gentlemen!
Thanks,
Billy

There is no support for the XTC (xclip) yet for our phones. Looking up white card brings me back to the xclip.

Can you post the diag files that accompany the factory sim for both the one x and one s? Should be like pj40diag.nbh and then pjxxdiag.nbh for the one s and x respectively (I can't remember the model number of the x)

XTC Clip
1. Full Factory unlock(CID, SP lock, User Lock)
2. One click gold card creation in just seconds 2-4 seconds (2GB card),
6-8 seconds (8GB cards) --> ???
3. Support all android HTC
4. Unlocking time 20-30 seconds
5. The solutions is working on any device
("S-ON" and "S-OFF" doesn't matter)
6. After unlocking you have SIMLOCK removed, Super CID(11111111) and the device is "S-OFF"

Yes thats the one im talking about. Well for starters you would have to shave down the sim card to micro size and it needs a software update to work on our phone. Ohh and they cost between $50 and $80

How do you make the SIM fit? All look like they are designed for normal SIM size.
I am looking for the white card, but it seems like I cannot find one that support unlocking One X.

We need the diag files to use one of those though... Is there any way to get them?

I would think they would have to go that way, since the Atrix is running 16 internal, 1GB RAM and capability for 32GB microSD. What I'm hoping for in this device is something of an "Atrix as it should have been" kind of device. The various rumors have it as having Gingerbread 2.3.4 installed. Was that the case on this device? I'm hoping they rework the exterior (including a kickstand) and go with Gorilla glass for the screen in the production versions. Did you look at the battery yet, as to capacity? I guess basically what I'm hoping for is something like a Thunderbolt or Sensation on steroids as far as features and performance go. I eagerly await your further impressions on this device.

I can't fap to this.
Its all sealed because of the nano-polymer coating. Makes it harder for water to get in. Makes it impossibe to tear down, but it also makes it a beast of a phone.

How do you remove the back cover???
My apologies. I am attempting to remove the back cover. Are there screws hidden that I need to remove? I tried prying, but it seems like I am making no progress and don't want to break anything. Thanks.
Actually, do you see any label for the MEID in the radio? I have a "test" radio that had the MEID blanked because it was for a test account. I need to have a valid MEID entered in order to activate the phone. Any ideas on how to approach this?

Yeah, so much for that- but as someone else had posted, perhaps there's a way to get to the NVItems somehow.
Thing is, from my (admittedly-limited) understanding of SIM cards, we'd need a way to read out every part of an existing SIM, then be able to write it back in (EPST?).

correct you would need to somehow read and program each time. and since att uses the same sim for gsm and lte its entirely possible that the lte programming info would be wiped out if you could do anything like you were thinking

Well, we'd obviously have to save off the original NVItems first, for when we get back from wherever GSM country we're visiting
If (big if) we could actually read and write all this stuff successfully, then the next big hurdle would be being able to read all of the SIM we'd buy from wherever (my goal is to be able to use this phone when I travel outside the US; I have GSM Android handsets sitting around at home, but it'd be great to have one device that can do it all). Apparently the GSM "encryption key seed" (there's a real name for that ...) is stored in the SIM and only known to the SIM and the authentication DB at the carrier so we couldn't just plug in the IMEI/IMSI.

RegawMOD plugin needed for custom bootloader

So now that we have S-Off, I decided to do a bit of research on how to get rid of the red HTC disclaimer and the word "Tampered" from the bootloader screen.
Seems that there is only one way to get rid of "Tampered" and that's to re-lock your bootloader and then flash a RUU.
Whether the word stays gone after you re-flash a custom recovery and ROM/kernel I can't say for sure.
As far as the HTC disclaimer you see on boot-up, It can only be removed by flashing a RUU. As soon as you flash a custom recovery, it'll come back.
I found a thread called RegawMOD which allows you to either delete that red text or change it to whatever you want.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739314
They also have a thread that has instructions on how to make a plugin for your device so that you can also use his tool for your device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776900
And yet another thread with a list of current plugins. Maybe one could be used as a template for us?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786498
I would absolutely love to see this tool become a reality for oneS users and I know I'm not alone in this.
Would probably donate if it worked perfect without issue.

It's entirely possible. But I had triple checked it. So you might think that everything is correct, and then try it, and you have with you a paperweight.
And when you don't have the money to get it fixed, it's going to prove difficult getting it done freely.

NFC Fun Fact. Grab Your Passport book.

I got my new passport book in the mail today, as I'm going to need it to go on a cruise. Anyways, apparently the back flap of the book contains a NFC Chip. I was holding my book open and i got a text so I put phone on the back flap to reply and the NFC chirp went off. The book it self tells you that it contains electronics. Kind of neat IMO.
Anyway to see what information is being given off by the chip?
After reading your post I grabbed my wife's passport and scanned it with NFC Taginfo. Sorry I can't post link yet, should be an easy search. Make sure to set up the passport key, putting in your passport number, birthdate and expiration date. the result is pretty cool!

Installed it, but doesnt give me anything, just the sounds that it recognizes the NFC tag,
I just tried again and it didn't want to work until I opened the book and set my phone on the back cover from the inside. even from my home screen the app popped open and gave the info.

What cruise are you going on?
There are apps specifically made to read the NFC chips in the passports

Royal Caribbean Cruise. I hope I don't get stranded.
most airports and transportation authorities never use the nfc data; which IMO is a huge security issue. however, if one applied about 90c of heat and some very strong magnetic fields shortly thereafter, the nfc data on the passport would be rendered unreadable and effectively neutralized.

You have to do as he said; there's a place in the app to put in the secure information that is required to decrypt the information on the tag. It holds biometric data, picture, etc.
The GS4 uses a new NFC chip that can't fully read US passports. The Galaxy Nexus and other did
You'll hear the sound and get some info, but NXP TagInfo wont be able to read information or give you the passport picture (even if you enter the DOB and the other info to decrypt).

It shows everything for me if I push the ePassport button. Just wasn't about to put my wife's info on the Internet

How recent did they start this? Our passports are about 4 years old, and I couldn't get my S4 to pick anything up...

I think starting 2007ish they offered them as an option for faster customs. I don't know when it became all.

I also believe you have to have the passport open. As a defense against people trying to grab information maliciously they added a metallic layer in the back and front of the passport that blocks attempts to read the chip. Opening the passport allows you to read it since you no longer have that layer in the way. Essentially the passport has it's own mini Faraday cage if you want to think of it that way.

Okay... I'll have to try it from the inside. I was trying from the backside of the passport book.

The four passports from friends I was able to test it with a few days ago would suggest otherwise, as would the others who have been successful in this thread. It does seem to be a bit slower than my Galaxy Note was at reading them however.
