Well Legacy Stormz is a temporary name lol. I have decided to try to develop a ROM my own, but I am looking for a little assistance.
FIRST BUILD WILL BE BASED OFF OF BUILD 37 OF AOKP
Needed currently >>>>>
* A small batch of DEDICATED testers for the first build.
* A custom wallpaper maker/TWEAKER of sorts seeing as I have a somewhat base design
* A few to collaborate with who could possibly up the WOW of the ROM, something I know in my beginning state cannot do.
This will be my first ROM, Port or whatever it is you may want to label it.
I am going to try my best to push out updates to go along with the AOKP Builds

Myself and another member were going to work on porting aokp builds but we kinda stopped talking. If you're interested I'd be glad to help not only testing but developing as well. I'm not much of a themer but I'm looking to learn better.

How bout you let me teach you how to build from source then you won't have these porting issues. Ports are nice when you don't have source, but when you have it, why not use it? If it's going to just be straight AOKP, I have no issues helping.

Well yea Nun that would be greatly appreciated I've been here long enough and would love to contribute in some way.
it would be AOKP but of course with my own touch and what not, maybe I could have a little team together to help with some minor tweaks, so yea that lesson would be greatly appreciated.

My question to you is this...
What are you planning on bringing to the table? Wallpapers? Theming touches? Are you planning on providing additional tweaks in you package? What's your plan?
If it's just a unique visual experience, why not focus your pursuit on a theme for one of the ports that are out there?
I will gladly teach you how to build from source...but just really think that a lot of people are jumping onto the "dev" wagon before they have a grasp on what it takes. I guess you will never learn if you don't try...but I think that having a solid grasp on what is needed before you begin is the best plan.
Not trying to discourage...quite the contrary. Just trying to give a little input from a person who has been around the block...once or twice.

Oh believe me, I have no problem with it...especially right now when there really is no development going on. I've just seen them delete placeholders in other threads, so I figured I'd just let the OP know.
Edit: Honestly, I'm not really even working on anything ATM because I'm expecting CM7 to come out before I even have a chance to post anything

Oh, Im sure that once CM7 is out, there will be plenty of other ports, but I guess all we need right now is the GB kernel... and that will probably come with CM7 ... But it would be nice to get a custom kernel, hopefully UV, so our phones can play nice

I know we can't have CM7 on out phones because Samsung has not released the source code for Gingerbread but what about Froyo source code? if it has been released could any one port CM6?
I added a poll to see what every one thinks.
If you go to https://opensource.samsung.com/ and search for T959V, you can download 2 files named SGH-T959V_Opensource.zip and SGH-T959V_Opensource_Update1_Kernel.7z, I don't know anything about coding, but would this be the source code that is needed to port Cyanogenmod?
I downloaded the files to check but I don't know anything about coding so I don't know how to tell.

I'm assuming people would rather have Gingerbread with touchwiz than Froyo pure Google awesomeness since all the ROMs I see are touchwiz, I personally would rather have a pure Google experience. If enough people ask for it would devs port CM6?
I'd check it out if it was available....cm6 would be good compared to our current cm0....

i know the feeling really lol like the 35 + pms i get some of them from the same people two or 3 times about hey can i have miui when u gong to be done with miui really it gets old quick..... we appreate that u love our work but this is a hobby not a job.. not trying to take away from what our getitng at just stateing i knw how u feel and can empathize with what you are saying 10000 percent...
im sure i could finish it up and make it for the most part as stable as a frankenstined build goes but updates? no not going to happen period not without a proper build and sorry no i love u all but im not going to port every update that comes out for it by hand...
so as kryon said why settle.... really why settle for an inferior cm 6 when u can have 7.1 and why settle for a inferor miui when once we get source we can do it right.......

I'm not complaining, I'm really thankful for all the great roms out there and realize most people don't have any right to say what roms you should make since most people just ask and don't donate, but it is my personal preference to have vanilla over touchwiz, I will be patient and wait, I never said there was anything wrong with the roms I'm using, and again I thank all the devs for spending the time and effort on making phones better than they already are.

Now that ken is gone we need more devs...ken only had a review unit so i was thinking maybe we should get him an actual unit...or maybe go out and recruit devs, find some that want to dev our phone and start a chipin for them... |melvin| is getting closer to having his unit so we should finish his chipin first since he will have a rom for us sunday.....and he is an accomplished dev....thoughts everyone ?

me and my team are in .. see my work for various device , also , the ability to have scrollable quickpanel on Touchwiz UI ( not on aosp its very different) comes form us ! we strive to be original and release stand out stuff , most of the time we are the first to port new mods accross devices ..

Oh yes please we need devs on this device like we need water to survive. I recently tweeted Paul O and asked if he could do the Skyrocket a favour and build a ROM.
Needless to say, I will help pitch in for a dev to create a nice ROM. Hopefully capable of a TW and a Vanilla version.

Hello, I've been around this community since I bought my Infuse back in August 2011. I would like to say I love the community here but felt like I should give something back. *So here is the teaser post*
I have finally got AOKP built successfully from source (touch screen was holding me up). I wouldn't have been able to do this without Entropy, JT or their predecessors work. However I don't have enough posts to put this build in the Infuse4g Android Development forum. Plus I'm waiting to see how this thread goes (I don't want to be stepping on anyone's toes by releasing it).
I will be glad to become a tester.

If it was I, I would have some testers for the build of yours and have them provide you with feedback then shot it out to the GP "general public"...and follow the seasoned dev leads...you can always make some post in the threads that are already there in place regarding CM9...questions and other threads to build your post count, but most importantly, while your building your post count, you have your testers make some runs with your build, but as you have read in the dev thread...be aware of the questions and comments and yes the ones that don't read will be your hardest questions given....

well it would've taken me forever to get it finished, cuz i have it right now where you can flash it but it'll bootloop, plus i dont know much about porting or developing, so im glad someone else beat me to it, it seems like a good rom

Slim is now working stable on the hercules( a close cousin the the skyrocket) I have been posting slim over on the hercules side for a long time now. I'm just wondering if anyone is interested in a build for the skyrocket? I know there was a problem before but this rom sure is smooth on the hercules. I'm sure there is. There was a lot of action in our old slim bean threads.

I ran the 4.1.2 Slim for a long time and only recently changed. I'm certain there would be lots of interest in a 4.2.2 version of Slim.
OK, I am building now. Please pm me for the link and I will reply with the link when done and uploaded. I don't post untested roms so I need testers that know there way around the skyrocket. I know it works great on my hercules but the same old I am not responsible for a bricked phone etc. etc. I'm guessing prbassplayer had a lot to do with fixing the issue's on this. I don't take any credit for this rom other than figuring out how to compile for our devices. All thanks go to the slim team!
EDIT:If this thread turns into more of a developement thread then by all means mod's please move to proper place and please don't throw rocks at me lol
Why not just shoot the start to finish build instructions to the rookie thread too. That way others can build if they feel up to it.

I just sent out the link to everyone, sorry for the delay. If all is well with this rom I will start a new thread in dev section or maybe even have this one moved if the mod's prefere.
