I used to get in the 5000s, but it dropped for some reason.. I was then getting low 4000s constantly. So this is a big improvement for me. I might look like a dumbass here but, this is the highest score I've gotten in a while.

Same here. I ran quadrant after unboxing and hit high 5100's a few times. Now I can't get more than mid 4900

I get an awesome score of 4456 fml.

So you used to get in the 5000's....but your title claims your "highest score yet" is 4626.

If the phone runs smooth that's all that matters. Android Central talks all the time about how these benchmark tests are a bunch of bull crap. My HOX is running the Clean Rom 2.0 and is smoother than ever, but scores lower than when I first got the phone.

Stock. No root. The more tests I run consecutivelly it lowers, or if phone is already warm. So my advice, if a high number is uber important to you, test as cool as you can.

I'm assuming the one listed there under my device is the quad core international, therefore it makes sense it'd be lower then the listed HOX, I guess hah.

Stock 1.73 gets at or above 5000 but later updates have brought scores down to around 4500-4600. Not sure why.

The gs2 wins over.
Other than that the 2x clearly the better phone.

I'm sorry but does that make any sense at all? You said the GS2 wins and then you state the 2X is better.
And in reality, the SGS II is obviously a more polished product than the 2X.
Yeah. I realized were on the brink of a whole other level of phones.
The gs3 will be worth the upgrade.
I'm definitely keeping the g2x over the sensation.
But I would have loved the gs2.
I don't see how anyone could rate the sensation over the g2x

More than likely you will just see the key leaked earlier on the sensation.
HTC stated that future phones would be unlocked. At that time the sensation was in production already.

Yes the sensation will be unlocked. Well the keys given out.
But the sensation is clearly suffering from older tech. How does a 1ghz dual core in the g2x outperform a 1.2 ghz in the sensation?
Especially when the g2x is running foyo and the sensation is running gingerbread.
Has all these people who want to ditch the g2x even researched the 2?
The g2x is in fact the better phone.
They raised the price because the only thing your getting better on the sensation is the screen.
And thats debatable.

For those of you who don't know the sensation uses an arm a8 processor and the g2x uses a arm a9, even though the sensation is clocked higher it still doesn't match up to the g2x its like an i7 vs i5.

Same here, I remember thinking about getting the Sensation but then came along the G2x which is a beast. Second best phone coming out this year, have to give an edge to the GS II just because of the 4.3 inch SUPER AMOLED PLUS screen and it's dual core 1.2GHz processor that hits 3100+.........besides that both phones are just as good as each other. Oh and mind you the G2x isn't running GB yet which means those 2500-2800 quadrant scores should be around 3000 as well.

I think the bulk of the persons who are choosing the Sensation over the G2x may be those who got fed up with the bum G2x's out there that have the constant locking up or rebooting problems. I personally have gone through 3 of them and was ready to explode over the matter...

eHow does the camera suck? Who cares about ics? There's at least 5 different builds here. I beg to differ on the cores being utilized efficiently, now with the update everything runs pretty efficiently. Battery life will show that. Its so hard having grown up in the 1970's -1980's to understand how younger generations appreciate nothing and expect perfection. It has to do with the internets. When I got my Atari 2600 in 1980, I was sooooo happy with it. There was no forum to chew the Developers asses. Not to mention, its just rude. Could you imagine the 2600 being released today? 90% of ya would kill yourselves.

Well for one I care about the "benchmark shizz"
But its always been about how the phone runs. That's why they invented benchmark programs to score each phones performance so you can compare how the hardware/software combination you are using performs. Using that tool you can actually get a tangable number for each setup you run therefore giving you the higher number for higher performance. So think about what you say before you go contradicting yourself in public.

Strangel High Quadrant Score from HTC One X

I have just got myself a HTC one X running up to date stock rom, I decided to download Quadrant and I seem to be getting above average scores.
My first test gave me 5951
Ran it again and got 5907
Yet below where it says "Your Device" it shows the HTC one as having scores under 5k
Have attached Screenshot.
I think they are showing the old results before the latest update my scores are in the 5000's also
The latest Phone Rom Update or the Quadrant Software update?
Really I need to put a image verification every time I want to reply, bloody hell site lol.
I've had this happen before too. Lol not sure why

That's because your device is scoring higher than the average One X. The reason being is that you have a One XL which is a different phone. The One X has a Tegra 3, the XL has an S4. I'm sure whatever ROM you're running is helping to boost your scores but even stock we score higher on Quadrant than the One X.

I was getting close to 12000 on antutu on cm10 with no overclock, now I'm getting around 10000 on king kang m1 with 2ghz overclock.
Any ideas? Anyone else see this ?

I've read somewhere clocking the phone too high can be counter productive and reduce performance like you see

Yeah, I wanna understand why that is?

Maybe because king kang has more to it.. something bare bones (cm10) will usually be faster

yeah, I thought the same thing, that KK is all hopped up and feature rich with background processes, but I score almost identical scores with processor scaled back to stock 1.5 ghz.
And I know, I read it a millions times a day that benchmarks don't mean anything, but I like to have something quantifiable that the phone is executing instructions faster and not just a placebo effect because I'm overclocked.
I have all of my other devices overclocked, and they all score better on benchmarks. I've come across kernels that score lower and run smoother than overclocked kernels, but this is the first time I've encountered lower scores with an overclock.
In any event, like I asked in my initial post, I'm wondering how the overclock can garner the lower scores.
If you feel this thread has no point, you're free to not comment, and return to the questions forum.
Otherwise, I would like to discuss how overclocking produces slower benchmarks.

Because some devices cant run at a higher clock, that's why they are set at a stable speed across all CPUs
Try 1800, see if it improves. If so then you have a device with a weak CPU.

Most likely tripping thermal switches in cpu or gpu and it auto scales down to prevent three mile island in your hand.
If you have a heavy thick case on phone expect worse results.

This is XDA, we don't run off of tangable, quantifiable data; we run off of placebo. Sorta like how aznrice's mods got so popular.
Anywho, it's probably not stable at those speeds so it's throttling during the benchmark. As said above role it back a tad and see what happens.

Ohhhh yeah. That's right. I was looking at another oc kernel and there were some adb shell commands to alter thermald.conf to "stick" the oc at higher speeds.

In the past, I've just seen reboots if the frequency is too high. The I haven't had any reboots at 2 ghz. I'll try running at different frequencies shortly. Driving home ATM.
Edit: To clear, I was not posting while driving. I am about to drive.

This truely is the worst phone to txt and drive with. Awkward to hold with one hand and impossible to type with without looking at the screen.
I used to be able to type full paragraphs on my Aria...

This is likely what's happening.
Not familiar with CM10, but if there's a file /etc/thermald.conf you can raise the thresholds. But just do it a bit, the thermal limits are there to protect your phone from overheating.
Hmmm.. it only started running at the other frequency when I dialed them back. Could cpu spy not be reporting accurately?

I've never had a keyboard-less phone that I could type accurately without looking.

Cpu spy is wrong in this case.
