Hello, Today I tried to downgrade my hboot 2.00.002 to 0.98.00000 and my phone is s-on and it was unlocked with htcdev. I tried to lock it again to downgrade hboot but it says "relocked" and " Security Warning" i used command" fastboot oem lock" and now phone is stucked in bootloader. Can anyone help me how to fix my problem ??? I tried to restard it and it start in bootloader. Recovery don't work too. Please help me I am a little noob in android development
Which guide did you follow?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399331
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443636
I used this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399331
but when i tried to push zergRush, it said : device not found
I don't think your supposed to lock your bootloader until you flash the RUU. You can't access ADB without booting into the ROM or recovery. The only thing i can suggest at this point is using a RUU to bring your phone back to stock and then starting again from scratch.
I found something and re-unlocked it again with htcdev. Now it is unlocked, I flashed recovery again , I wiped data , restore backup image and flashed kernel. Now it works but I can't install Ruu. My rom is BlindIce but I dont know how to come to stock rom.
I tried with "RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.9_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_234765_signed " but it said update can't be applied.
Glad you managed to fix that.
What error did you get from the RUU? And also have you already completed steps 1-5 and relocked the bootloader?
Make sure the RUU matches your network and region. Also make sure it has an old H-BOOT, not the newer ones.
This is a very good post from amidabuddha and i don't think i could have put it any better
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20536400&postcount=28
Also you could create a goldcard which would probably be easier. Use this method to make a goldcard which will remove any CID errors.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18748766&postcount=6
So first I do goldcard thing and than flash RUU with that exe or i need a stock rom from forum ?
Yeah first goldcard then RUU.
Have you got ZergRush working? Because you're going to need that. So i would do the exact same steps as the guide but after gaining temp root from ZergRush you create the goldcard. Then you change the misc version and then flash the RUU.
zergRush don't work. I get this error:
c:\>cd c:\ics
c:\ics>adb push zergRush /data/local/tmp
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
CreateProcess failure, error 2
* failed to start daemon *

Have you installed the HTC drivers for your phone?
Here is the link for it

Thank you for drivers it all worked but at line :
adb shell /data/local/tmp/zergRush

I got message 2.2/2.3 not found, and I flashed a 2.3 room, now I get again

Make sure USB Debugging is enabled in settings and try reconnecting your USB. ADB does that for me sometimes as well. Try a different USB port as well.
I fixed that, but i followed all steps in downgrade tutorial than i did goldcard but i get unknown error at RUU installing.
I get error at signature and if i disconnect cable phone say: "Ruu security failed! Update fail!"
this is my cmd:

Are you sure the goldcard was made correctly?
Also was there a number for the error on the RUU?

that means you have used zerg rush properly all u need to do now is get the ruu relock your bootloader then run the ruu then youll have downgraded your hboot successfully
And since the wrong info was already posted in this thread, I'll correct: you can run the RUU from bootloader too, you just need to be in FASTBOOT mode and have the drivers installed (which is a given if you used HTCDev).

Ok as soon as some one reads the title they would be thinking another thread by a noob. I may be a noobb but after having many android devices and installing many custom ROMs its hard act like a noob. But i am really frustrated with the complications that are involved in getting the S OFF on HTC Sensation.
I have gone through all the possible posts on achieving the S OFF but with no luck at all Now can some one please help me here????
Ok now my phone is running Hboot version 1.18 and i have tried the revolutionary method some 10 times and i also looked in to this tool as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668276 but still cant get S OFF. I have few questions for which i have searched all over the web only to find different answers.
Do i need both S OFF and Unlock on the phone to install a custom ROM? And also do i need the S OFF first to do the super CID? Because i thought if i can at least have the super CID i can run a different RUU and have ICS. But again failed to achieve CID it says HTC_038 instead of 11111.
I have read in several places that i need the latest 3.32 firmware to install a ICS ROM. So i am yet to figure out how on the earth can i install the 3.32 firmware.
I have unlocked my phone using HTC Dev website and i have also rooted the phone. I have installed the CWM but not able to flash a custom ROM. So should i have first done the S OFF and then unlock it or can i still S Off on the phone with the boot loader unlocked?
So in case if i have to re lock the device then do the S OFF , can some one give a link to the latest RUU?
Or can some one help me find a way to S OFF???? Thanks for any help.

1.SOFF is pretty simple for you ..don't know what actually caused you the problem as you havent mentioned what error happened when trying SOFF process
now when you said you tried revolutionary you might have zerg root failed error
if thats the case
kgs tool would have solved the issue ...but you are saying that failed too (which normally wont happen)
that says that you tried kgs tool with unlocked bootloader and having cwm recovery also root ..to SOFF which wont work
(the alternative to by pass the zerg root error revolutionary has a prerequisite which is to have everything completely stock )
now ...the question comes how to do SOFF then
kgs tool has already given the solution (YOU read all the guides and searched all over the world ..but forgot to read the second post in the kgs tool guide )
as i am a good man and i feel like helping a blind person ...i'll tell you where
in the second post of the thread you've linked
TIPS sub section - 6th point ..please foolw the post there ..to make SOFF work
now regarding the other questions
1.no way you can flash a firmware unless you are SOFF
2.once you got SOFF via revolutionary ..dont even bother about HTC-dev unlock ...as the bootloader provided by revolutionary after SOFF(engineering-bootloader) ..is much much better than the HTC-DEV unlocked bootloader
3.After SOFF best guide for you to flash ICS rom is this (post #1 and post #2)
Thanks a lot for you quick reply. really appreciated !! I am not a complete blind though well i tried restoring the recovery image back to stock then tried the kgs tool but it again failed. The only thing i had not tried was to do the factory reset after restoring the stock recovery. I extracted the stock recovery.img by running the Indian RUU. But i dont know if it makes any difference if i flash the recovery image attached in that post. Let me try that too Thanks again for taking time to reply !!!

ok i also had some issues to S-OFF my sensation with HBoot 1.18
now here what i did to successfully S-OFF the device and root it..
1st Download Tacoroot (as you already told that revolutionary isnt working for you) :- http://db.tt/PxZRO0d1
then switch on your sensation and connect your HTC to your PC in Charger Mode and Enable USB Debugging.. [ Remember to install HTC Drivers ]
now open adb and type the commands [ dont forget to keep the tacoroot.bin file on your adb folder ]
Code:
adb push tacoroot.bin /data/local
adb shell chmod 755 /data/local/tacoroot.bin
adb shell /data/local/tacoroot.bin --setup
The phone will reboot to recovery.
Press Volume Up, Volume Down and Power.
Reboot.
Press the Power button once if the screen remains blank (dark).
Wait for boot.
Run the following command.
Code:
adb shell /data/local/tacoroot.bin --root
The phone will reboot.
Run Revolutionary and now try to S-OFF your mobile using revolutionary.
Once Revolutionary is successful, reboot.
Run the following command.
Code:
adb shell /data/local/tacoroot.bin –undo
now once its done install recovery and continue flashing your rom.

Tacoroot did not work for him. It was something else.
In some phones, tacoroot causes the phone to get stuck on the HTC screen.
The phone can't be temp rooted that way.
This happens usually only in HTC dev unlocked phones that had custom recovery installed and then flashed stock recovery before tacoroot.

Root your phone by installing su.
Modify local.prop to get root prompt by default in shell.

Hi guys, I have a problem with reverting back to te GB stock european ROM. Today I updated to ICS from the RUU. My phone is factory condition, no root or s-off, unbranded. I used the latest european GB RUU but is giving me Error 131 or 155. Tested all the euro ROMs with the same result. Is the new ICS RUU changing the bootloader? Or the new partition is the reason not to be able to switch back to the stock GB european ROM? I just don't like the ICS and wanna go back to GB! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Temproot your phone using whatever you want, change your misc_version to the oldest one or according the RUU you want to install. Then run the RUU.

Any ideas anybody? It looks it is not working for ICS...
Maybe with tacoroot, search the thread "downgrade to old hboot without using htcdev V2" if you dont know how tacoroot works.
I do NOT like ICS also... My phone's animations doesn't look very smooth..
I really don't understand why peoples are so happy with this update..
If you will find a method to revert to GB please post it here!

Well, you could unlock the bootloader using htcdev and then install a custom ROM, apply misc_version, relock and run the stock GB RUU?

Hello I'm new to installing Custom ROM's perhaps you could tell me if i'm right or wrong - after installing official ICS from HTC RUU I can still instal any custom ROM (like ICE_DS) by unlocking via HTCdev, installing CWM and gaining ROOT - all of those with the same methods as for GB guides? Is that all I need ?

now noticed in ice_ds requirements;
If you are coming from a stock rom there are many requirements, but first of all you need to S-off your device and you will also need a custom recovery....Look HERE for a guide on how to do this. Should your device have a newer hboot version then unfortunately this guide will not work and for now the only option available can be found HERE. ICE DS ROM have the 4EXT custom recovery included, but for initial setup purposes please follow the guide.
In order to install an ICS based rom you will most likely have to update your device's firmware.

i meant if that's what i needed after all (meaning after what you've told me to do). Ok i'll keep your advise in mind, also EXT4 is better or worse comparing to CWM ? I've read somewhere that it gives faster user experience comparing to the same rom flashed both ways.

what you need after all is custom rom installed, right?
with unlocked bootloader, you can install custom recovery (I'd preferred 4EXT, but CWM also OK)
with custom recovery, you can install custom rom and root the device
that's all

radio yes. but regarding the kernel you can, i.e., you must flash it via fastboot (e.g. "fastboot flash boot boot.img"). HTH.

Er.. no. You just need an unlocked bootloader to flash recovery. S-OFF disables security checks. Read the second link in my signature.
Hi! Making this thread is kind of my last resort as I'm stuck in a good ol' bootloop. I would like to downgrade from Android 4.2 to the official rom it shipped with. I'm not familliar enough with the technical side of things to know why the RUU's I'm trying to flash won't work but i believe it's because I still have HBOOT 2.00.002.
First I tried Android Flasher to flash engHBOOToverARX.img to it (which should set it to 0.98.0000) but when i flash the window just stays empty and it executes nothing.
Then I followed this guide multiple times but then this happens:
Code:
C:\NEW>adb push zergRush /data/local/tmp
adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
1098 KB/s (23060 bytes in 0.020s)
C:\NEW>adb push misc_version /data/local/tmp

chmod: /data/local/tmp/zergRush: Not a directory
C:\NEW>adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/misc_version
chmod: /data/local/tmp/misc_version: Not a directory
I tried my best to search for solutions but no luck yet.
I'm trying to use this version (with the correct region and radio ofcourse) but during the installation it returns an error.

I've tried other ones as well and also extracting the rom.zip/PH98IMG.zip and manually flashing it through recovery. This is what recovery returns:
Code:
Installing '/sdcard/PH98IMG.zip'...
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found.
Verifying zip signature...
E:Zip signature verification failed: 1
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/PH98IMG.zip'
Updating partition details...
E:Unable to mount '/data'
Samething with SetMainVersionLOW.zip using this guide, with the correct mainver number in the android_info file.
Together with trying the goldcard method I believe those are most of the things I have tried so far. My current details are:
UNLOCKED
Saga PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0002
Radio-3822.10.08.04_M
eMMC-boot
TWRP Recovery
I hope someone will try to help me out so maybe others in my situation can learn from my mistakes

First its PG88IMG not PH98IMG
Second, u need to relock ur bootloader for ruu to work. Boot into fastboot, open command window and type
fastboot oem lock
Thank you both for replying! Steve_htc_wizard: I'll try your way if all else fails!

The problem is that when i relock I can't access recovery anymore to execute any zips. Adb doesn't connect to my device either eventhough I updated/installed the google USB driver (Android ADB Interface) and added my model ID into the .inf file. The HTC drivers aren't any miracle workers either.

If ur running a ruu PG88IMG method then u do NOT flash it in recovery, put the PG88IMG.zip on the root of ur sdcard (not in a folder) then boot ur phone into bootloader (vol down + power) and bootloader will find PG88IMG and ask to update. Follow instructions on screen.
It'll load PG88IMG.zip and proceeds to a second load bar but after 100% it'll pop back to the bootloader screen.

Strange that it dont work. Try redownload the exe file and extract rom.zip but dont edit anything this time, just rename it to PG88IMG.zip and try that or try getting ur phone to connect to pc. Or try different ruu. Thats the only options i can think of. Getting ur phone to connect to pc is prob ur best bet.

Then i get the "Main Version is older! Update Fail!" error. I did make my sd card a goldcard and never formatted it, if that's any help. By the way...thank you for your replies so far!

A goldcard bypasses the cid check so thats good that u have it, use a ruu with a higher main version than the one ur trying to run. So ur trying 2.10.401.9 so download higher version.
To check what is on ur phone, boot into fastboot, plug into pc and open command window and type
fastboot getvar all
And ul see what version_main u have then just use ruu with the same or higher main version. Post the results here n we can see whats what
Hey, i've looked for a higher number download but cant seem to find one. What would be the next step? Should i edit the main version number with this misctool?
Code:
[B]C:\>fastboot getvar all[/B]
INFOversion-bootloader: 2.00.0002
INFOversion-baseband: 3822.10.08.04_M
INFOversion-main: 13.10.401.8
INFOproduct: saga

13.10.401.8? Never even seen that befor nor can i find ruu with that number.
If it were me id just run the ICS ruu and get it booting then if u want to use GB u can unlock ur bootloader, root then flash misc version and use older ruu. Probably quicker too

Hey Guys, after a long time with a normal one mini i prepared it for the next phase.
I unlocked my bootloader
Installed the latest twrp-2.7.1.1
Have copied InsertCoin_m4-3.0.3 into my Htc
Copied out the boot image and typing this for the flash!
fastboot erase cache:
fastboot flash boot boot.img:
fastboot erase cache
Got 3 times the message for fnished!
Then i have gone in the recovery and installed InscertCoin...at the end i am getting the message that all was fine!!
After a short Reboot the HTC logo pop ups and it is like nothing happend.Just as a Factory Reset
What is wrong?

Why erase cache twice"
I moved from stock the other day, without problems (did spend almost a week reading all the threads on here)
I unlocked via htc dev
Installed twrp
Manged to soff my mini
Got the supercid
I had to updated the hboot to 2.22
I then had to update my twrp to 2.7.1.1 as old twrp couldn't find anything
Then flashed my rom
This worked for me but you may be different, hope this kinda helps
i See...
You have S-Off and supercid
But it is rly needed to update Hboot?

I am so confused...i have 3 instructions:
The first one is using also temproot :
adb reboot <–important!!!!
adb wait-for-device push firewater /data/local/tmp
adb push temproot /data/local/tmp
adb shell
chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/temproot
chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/firewater
/data/local/tmp/temproot <---- this can take like 10-15 minutes to run
>>>ERROR:
Failed to get prepare_kernel_cred adress.
Failed to get commit_creds adress.
Failed to get ptmx.fops adress.
Failed to setup varialbes.
/data/local/tmp/firewater
The second one tell me smth that i have to flash my rom and kernel ?!?!?!?!
JmzM4StockRootedOdex-WWE-1.22.401.1 & Jmz M4 Kernel
Dont tested, cause i have to flash my rom and Kernel! The main goal is to flash InsertCoin as a Rom
Third one is the normal
adb reboot <–important!!!!
adb wait-for-device push firewater /data/local/tmp
adb shell
su
chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/firewater
/data/local/tmp/firewater
But in this instruction, i was one step away to get my s-off til i got the message
Error: kernel contains HTC anti-firewater patch!
-----Try again with a different kernel---

see here for original post in the HTC ONE MINI FORUM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559235
Juhuu...i used rumrunner universial and got to the end a message
1 flash an unsecure kernel thats compatible with your Rom and retry
2. Flash a d different rom
To Point 1: How this could be?
2: I am on Stock Rom, never do smth with my HTC one Mini and sometimes i read that u need STOCK ROM! SO why to change it?
I had to install the JMZ stock rom and kernel then ran Rumrunner. Mine said it was still ON until I updated HBOOT with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759131
