[Q] [PARTS] Need Internal Antenna Cable! (HELP) - T-Mobile LG G2x

Does anyone know where I can get the internal antenna cable for our G2x? Had the screen replaced and now I get no reception , I can only use phone through WiFi Calling now. I believe the LG part no. is EAD61725901. I can't seem to find parts anywhere on internet. Is there an aftermarket/alternative cable I can use maybe?
Your help is appreciated, thanks in advance....

Aw man, I broke this part around Christmas time and I ended up breaking my whole phone in the process of soldering it back together. I searched everywhere for it with no luck. I wish you better fortune than I.

Oh man... What happened when you tried to solder it. I tried that as well, but the phone still working... Just seems to be overheating, but that could be because it's searching for data maybe? I disabled mobile data, but still seems to be hot. Idling around 80-85 right now?

Just talk to stupid LG USA parts and they said they can't send me the part. I have to send in the phone for repair.... RRRrrrrrrRRRR

G2x I-PEX MHF antenna cable
Hope this helps:
The cable is micro-coax, The ends are terminated with a MHF connector, very commonly used in microelectronics. It is 75mm (7.5 cm) in length and has a fixed orientation. The following sites are suppliers that will be able to assist you in obtaining the correct cable and orientation.
search: Gradconn Corp
I would post a direct link but due to insufficient post I am unable.
WARNING
DO NOT even attempt a solder job without a stereoscopic microscope on ANY microelectronic PCB. The results are... see post #1. A solder job may work, but highly unlikely.

G2x (P999) antenna cable..
I was finally able to fix one for a customer.. while replacing the digitizer, i somehow damaged the coax cable for G2x (antenna cable).. I tried to find at so many places online and came across this post but was not able to find any one who carried the part. Then thru google i came across dealrepairs-dot-com who had the cable for Optimus 2x (p990) for very cheap.. i ordered it hoping it would be the same thing.. it arrived finally in about 18 days (China to US).. i used no tracking free shipment.. total cose $3.60... it was the wrong part. // anyways, i had a customer who had a CDMA LG Marquee thru Boost..he was sending it back to insurance after breaking the digitizer and ordering a new one. I took it from him before shipping and opened to find out that it had the same size coax cable as G2x... end of story ..
You can search for LG Marquee coax cable.. or u can search for broken CDMA LG Marquee either by sprint or boost (which is cheaper than a broken G2x)...

Digikey has a part that works
Digikey sells a part that is a 100 mm long for $2.30 that I was able to fit in place of the original 80 mm cable.
The Digikey part number is A36224-ND. You will need to split the extra length between the logic board and the antenna ends, it does fit.
Good luck
Tom

I'm in need of this little cable, about to order, these connections are the same as the MHF connectors, and this is confirmed as working for the phone?

Hello, I use the cable antenna LG optimus black because could not find the original part. It works but I have no 3G signal, only EDGE. Calls go out and get well, only that detail.

I think I can get original Motorola guide for service centers on disassembling XT720. Will try to do it and will post the results here.
Took mine apart today...
its fairly simple and only 6 screws
two are exposed
two are partially exposed near the bottom
and two are hidden (under 8.0 xenon sticker and the other is under a screw sized sitcker in the corner by the lense)
Yeah I ended up just doing it. It wasnt bad. But I needed to changed the earpiece speaker which is attached to the line in jack, power button, and volume keys via a ribbon that is sticky taped around a thin edge of the case. It was a *****, but not that bad. Sorry I didnt take any pics. Too impatient.
Had the misfortune of breaking one of the SIM slot pins.
Hope you guys could help out here. How to remove the screws under :
a) Speaker Grill without damaging the grill
b) Stickers (beside the camera and the 8.0 label) without damaging them
thanks
danny
Both are sticky taped on. Grab under an edge and peel off.

Hi, I have disassembled XT720, replaced digitizer then assembled back but I have to same issue - phone is not powering up. So I revert old digitzer back but the same ... I'm really sure that I make all of processes very precisely, no connectors are unplugged, everything is on right place ... everything is like before.
Is there any thing what I missed? Thank you for feedback.

LG optimus 3D Dock

Hi,
Is there anyone who bought one of those aftermarket LG 3D dock's such as this one on ebay:
www.ebay.nl/itm/Dockingstation-Lade...gstationen&hash=item27c0562090#ht_1089wt_1139

I'm wondering if they thought about the little piece of plastic covering the USB connector, a part from that it seems a pretty nice way to store the phone next to say you bed or on you desk.
Any thoughts?

Even though im a member since 2006, im not allowed to post links yet.
Update: nevermind, fixed
Bought it a couple of days ago.
- Yes, they thought about the USB covering.
- Unfortunately they forgot about the headphone jack. It's not accessible. To make it accessible you have to use a dremel or similar tool to cut away a bit of the rail which helps the phone slip into it's place.
- Two of my batteries sometimes lose contact when in the charger. Most times they charge well.
- The blue power indicator is very bright.
- Due to the phone's angle of 55° when in the stand the stand is best used on a desk when looking down on it from an angle.
Cool. Thanks, i connect my p920 to the stereo via bluetooth anyway, but thanks for the info!

the SDT-190 has no additional battery charger
it's more expensive
was hoping for the other dock to allow the phone wearing a gel case (it doesn't)
Ordering SDT-190 from LG Shop @ 16 Euro
PS. I just hope they will have it in stock.
And it has arrived - directly from LG Poland - took only 1 working day for the order to be processed and delivered by UPS.
Three pics as attached below.
Feels solid, heavy and of excellent build quality.
As you can see, it has two connectors: micro USB and micro HDMI
The phone's ports have those covers, which once you turn them 180 degrees hide into cavities which are located on both sides of connectors (on the dock).
Sliding into ports is easy and comfortable - no extra force or pressure is needed to place the phone into the dock - as well as no extra effort is needed to navigate the ports onto the connectors.
The cut you see on the left hand side is provided for the mini jack port (audio output), so that headphones or external speakers can be plugged in - yes we would prefer the audio port to be at the back at the dock, but this is good enough.
The USB port at the back enables us to charge the phone via USB cable (also works for connecting the phone to a PC as a USB mass storage) or the mains charger.
The docking station is ideal for everyday charging as well as watching movies, or YT
I believe it may also work as a stand when using a Bluetooth keyboard - one that I am waiting to arrive - excellent set up for typing vant numbers of emails and messages while away from our computer/away from home.
Overall I'm happy with the purchase, and I do think I would buy any other dock imitating the genuine original LG accessory.

Did your bluetooth keyboard work and what model did you use?
no it didnt work. only CM7 has L2CAP Bluetooth Protocol open/supported, and that's needed to connect the keyboard properly.
So I've sold it...
will this work?
any way to add bluetooth support?
http://www.thinkgeek.com/clearance/on-sale/e0e7/
you need to read the product description to see which OS it supports, or ask the seller.
you can't just turn the L2CAP protocol on just like that.

[Q] Wide or narrow flex cable ?

HTC Desire S
Purchased in Israel (eline)
P/N: 99HMN143-00
IMEI: 358967049XXXXXX
S/N: SH1AJTJXXXXX
I need to replace the display and I was thinking about buying this, however the site warns that there are two types of LCD flex cables - narrow and wide. Is there any way to know (without opening up the phone) whether I have the narrow or wide LCD flex cable ?
And if I do have to open the phone up, what is the minimum I need to do in order to determine the flex type (going by tutorials such as this, this or this)? Also, I don't have any reference, so even if I see the cable I'm not sure how I'll be able to tell whether it's the narrow or wide one ?
Thanks

I need to buy the right display replacement according to the flex cable type. I thought that by providing the P/N, S/N and IMEI (the latter two in censored form, of course) I might provide enough information to deduce the type.

I really don't know man... if i were you, i'd go to a local service centre and ask them how to determine which type of cable my phone uses... I know taht's not very helpful but that's all i could think of right now. I'll try to get more details and get back to you if i find something useful.

The first of your tutorials, I believe at 2:30 you can see the flex connectors. So since you have to disassemble your phone anyway when the screen arrives, look at it as training
The question is - ok, you see the flex, how do you know if it's the "narrow" or the "wide" one, these aren't absolute terms. I suggest searching for some reference photos on the internet to be sure.

That's great! Since you'll have to take the phone apart to replace the digitizer anyway, i suggest you do it now, and see what cable you have... and order the appropriate one accordingly.

I think this is the digitizer I bought:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item5d3db9cd39
It didn't work and I had to buy an LCD so I bought this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Screen-...-Desire-S-S510E-G12-Narrow-Flex-/310517355375
Neither worked for me, but it may be my fault for incorrect assembly, or the fault of the lab that tried to fix it.
So there is no way to know if for example my HTC Desire S have a Narrow or a Wide cable?
The only possible way to examine that is to tear the phone apart? ^^
Hmm, then i might need to buy this or something? :
General Cellphone Replacement Repair Open Tools ( +,-,T5,T6,Plastic Tools *2)
So there is no possible way by using the P/N or S/N to know if there is a Wide or Narrow cable?

So, I just got off the phone with Asus. I accidentally broke the charging port in my infinity. It was charging and my son knocked it into the wall breaking the piece of plastic inside the charging port.I'll attach a picture to show the extent of the damage. They want roughly $240 to repair this. Maybe a little more or less. I obviously dont want (and really dont have) the money to fix it right now. And I feel like paying half the cost of the tablet to fix a small piece of plastic is insane.
Has anyone here ever broken their charging port and if so how did you fix it? If you have any suggestions at all id appreciate it. Im pretty good with electronics and was hoping that I may be able to fix it myself.

I had a similar issue on my tf101. smashed the center pins on the port on the tablet. bad deal. I havent done this on the tf700 but thought I would point you in the direction i took on the tf101. I found a rplacement port at asusparts. eu and ordered it. took about 6 weeks to get it. Everything on their site is very cryptic and hard to follow. I would suggest opening it up and removing the port/board to see if there is a part number on it, then search their site for that part number. plus you can visually match it up better this way.
Hope this helps. my tf101 is in great shape now, gave it to the kids
Any luck?
So i have a TF700, one of the charger port pins are bent due to a drop. It will not charge and need to replace the port. so far i have not found the part number anywere on ASUS parts website. as anyone opened a tf700 to see if there is part number and or a way to get one. Have not had the guts to open the tablet until i can replace the part. thanks

Where did you get the part? and were there any tricks to fixing it yourself?
I'm in the same boat. The way the port and cable are (badly) designed it looks too easy to break with just a little downward pressure. I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about this. I tried going through Asus ($241/non warranty repair... screw that) and local shops say they can't get the part. I have an email out to asusparts.eu to see if the fpc cable they carry is compatible and whether they can ship to CA.
There have to be more people having the same issue.
TF700 Charging Port Broken
Well , I am in the same boat.. My son tripped on the wire while charging . I am able to charge but Dock is not connecting ( When i connect the dock , nothing happens ) ... guess something is broken in the charging port.
Any pointers where can we source the port replacement ( part numbers ? ) and any instructions ?
I live in Dublin,CA are there any local repair shops i can goto (within 50 miles) ? i dont want to go to Asus ( already unlocked) and they will definitly ask for a fortune .

OK so yes I will send you a picture of what it looks like when I get off work. The nomenclature is stamped on the ribbon its-self. I bought the "correct" one from Asus and it was not at all for the 700t. I purchased another from a online seller company and it was correct. As far taking it apart not for the faint of heart, you get to test the gorilla glass out to see how strong it is. Look up ifixit, there you will find the needed teardown instruction. So far tablet is fine.

Fixed the Charging Port but ....
Thanks all for your pointers and Help .
I have ordered a new Charging Port from www.asusparts.eu and somehow gathered courage to open up and replace the docking port with the help of the tutorial from www.ifixit.com
When I put the tablet together , touch screen was not working . Again took it apart , tried reconnecting the ribbons . When i put it together again , I am able to charge and touch screen also working :good::good::good:.
Then tried connecting the tablet to the keyboard dock, To my horror , tablet is not recognize the dock. But when i connect the charging cable to dock , both dock and tablet are charging ( atleast the lights are on) . :crying::crying::crying:

sorry for upping this old thread...
I had the same problem and after substituiting the charging port with a new one, now the tablet takes forever tho charge the battery.
I'm using a usb cable plugged to the amazon basic charger (output 5V, 2.1A), but neither the os nor the recovery tells wether the tablet is charging. Nevertheless, if I leave it plugged for some hours it reaches 100%. Battery drains at usual speed, just takes forever to charge. Sometimes the touchscreen is unresponsive too, regardless of the ROM I'm using.
Is there something to do?

[Q] Is Speaker/Headphone Jack Replacement different for Verizon (i535)

http://www.globaldirectparts.com/product-p/smsng6115835-9qs.htm
http://www.durapowerglobal.com/Sams...placement-Includes-Headphone-Jack_p_5868.html
Looking at mine, there appear to be some traces or something near the corners, which I imagine are antenna-related, and I don't see these in any of the pictures of the replacement part.
Does anyone have any insight here? Perhaps anyone who's done it and can confirm that its a universal part?
Thanks
I just saw a dissasembly video on youtube that identified the antennas on this part. The one near the flash LED is the GPS antenna and the one near the speaker is the GPS antenna. Since these are the same on all SGSIII models, I'm more convinced that this part should be Verizon-compatible. I also was able to make them out on a few pictures, not sure why I missed it before.
I was going to delete the question altogether, since I'm pretty confident now, but figured I'd leave it up for any future googlers down the line...

I was going to delete the question altogether, since I'm pretty confident now, but figured I'd leave it up for any future googlers down the line...

I'm actually preparing to do this same thing as well with my blue S3. Ordered the headphone jack a few hours ago. My headphone jack has only played audio in the right ear for the last month and a half. Looks simple enough to do according to iFixit.

So it seems some of the metal contacts broke off in my headphone jack and I need to replace it. It seems like a pretty straightforward fix but I don't know if the replacement part requires a Verizon-specific model or not.
Both of these websites say that it is compatible with the i535 but I'm not 100% convinced.

Looking at mine, there appear to be some traces or something near the corners, which I imagine are antenna-related, and I don't see these in any of the pictures of the replacement part.
Does anyone have any insight here? Perhaps anyone who's done it and can confirm that its a universal part?
Thanks

I did this repair myself (different break though, mine just quit working).
Can't remember the link I used, but the speaker/headphone module seems to be universal. The part I used listed it for the several models, but not i535 but worked fine.
Think I got it on eBay with a Buy-it-now for $7 plus shipping.
Really easy repair too, just be careful popping out the module connections.

Same issue I had. Easy, quick fix and been working fine since February.

That's really encouraging, my friend. Glad it's gone over so well for you since replacement. Quick question, did you purchase an opening tool to separate the headphone jack component from the phone? Just curious what you used to separate it.

I did use some plastic tools, but I don't think it was entirely neccessary, made popping the module connections easier though.
I got the 2 item set from Fixit (found a $x off coupon, and managed to get 2 sets for free and only paid a couple dollars for shipping).

I might purchase those, they looked like a solid purchase. I was going to check my a few stores to see if they had any first.

Just got my replacement headphone jack from ebay, switched it out with my S3, and I can listen to audio in both ears again! It's been about two months since I could do this and it only took a few minutes to get set up.
