impossible, purchase an iphone xd
There will likely never be a way to emulate iOS on an Android device. Get an iPod Touch or an iPhone and get the best of both worlds. Although, a HackPod would be an amazing project xD
useless thread, just buy an iphone

So, if TouchPad runs twice as fast on the iPad 2, why don't you guys, devs, try to install Android 2.3 or Android 3 on an iPad 2, and see the results? I believe it's possible because Android is Open source(ok maybe Android 2.3) and because you guys have dual booted iOS with Android on an iPhone. I don't believe it's silly, because you might get some data. I believe it's worth a try. Opinions?
+1 from me. I think it's a brilliant idea. I think though that the whole attempt won't be a walk in the park even in the very early stages (ie: no 3G/wifi/BT working etc) due to drivers. I say so because of the fact that I haven't been able to find a 'modified' f/w for the iPad1/2... at least just yet!

Apple hardware is nice... Real nice. So weather you like iOS or not, I think Honeycomb on the iPad 2 would be sweet.
It is my understanding that this will become more feasible when Google releases the source code for Honeycomb, as they are holding onto it for now.

I got a Galaxy S II... wtf? I'm just asking because I don't think I'm the only one that wants to see Android on iPad...
I would love to see honeycomb on my iPad - and to the guy trolling **** off dude. Apple makes some sexy hardware . I also have a Galaxy S II and an iPad (and a MacBook Pro), and I'm not here bashing companies. ****ing dumb fanboys against Apple - its like.looking at Engadgets comments on every topic.

I too have been wondering if there has been any progress putting android on ipad?
Gingerbread would be alot sweeter than ios on ipad 2. And. Agree apple hardware is stylish and bomb.
I would also like to see an android tablet running ios. That would probably be really really hard. There's nothing wrong with apple. Apple ftw

My work gave me a free ipad 2 to keep, but iOS just isn't working for me (the app selection, it turns out, isn't really as great as people make it out to be - games being the sole exception.) And running iphone apps on ipad just plain sucks - they don't scale to the screen size nearly as well as android apps do. Plus, not having a universal back button is downright annoying.
Anybody know of any android ports that are in progress?
hi
I'm probably resurrecting an old post. I have a spare ipad 2 that I would like to android. Is this still possible?
Could someone direct me on how this can be done, jailbreak etc, or maybe direct me to the correct thread if it is possible
thanks in advance
Hey!
Would it be possible to port an older version of android to galaxy s plus?
Such as froyo (2.2) for galaxy s plus?
Why would i like that? Cause it needs less resources and i think the phone would be faster with a smaller OS

Maybe you are right....phone maybe faster with a smaller OS...
But...how many human in this world like to use old thing as newer, better thing already made available for us?? maybe only <= 10%???
Just my personal opinion and it doesn't point to anyone anything~
Still it would be interesting to see how it looks
Why development section?
Howver, I think, maybe it's possible, but noone should do this, it's a stupid think...why there is developping for port 4.0.+? Because is "development", and not regress. New OSs are better, it's normal.

You might be right but dont forget: new isn't always better!
Gingerbread is a lot better than ICS and this will never change for our phone!
What if its the same with froyo?

Erm...Couldn't say so...This will be more on personal interest...
For me, I like GB for its overall stability as Samsung provides us the official GB ROM
However, compared to user friendly, better outlook I will choose ICS as my main choice although there are still lots of minor bugs waiting to be solved by our developers but I already love it so much^^

That is, obviously, just your opinion. I don't think GB is so much better for our phone than ICS, not even just a little better...
And yes, I think would be a great exercise try to port some old version to our phone, but just for learning or entertainment. I don't think no one would use it for daily use really.
i like the white status bar in froyo
would be really great :good:

Are you Pro Samsung, or are you Pro Android. I ask this question, because of Samsung's future plans with their Tizen OS. I'm sure everybody knows about this OS. But I'm not sure any of use fully understand what Samsung is going to be doing with it. And what it will mean for Android running on their devices in the future... I don't really see this OS being a threat to Android. But with Samsung's notable market share in the Android landscape, and uninformed consumers. Can it get a strong hold on some of Androids market share.

No it won't android has been out for a while and fixed nearly every bug and tweaked it and made it faster and tastier I think it would be a while until Tizen could actually go head to head with android and ios.

I'd love to have a phone with "easy" hardware, on which one could install Android, Tizen or Ubuntu at will, so one can try and choose the one wich fits better his own needs.
I'm not really interested in Tizen... I kind of wanted to see where people stand on the issue... Samsung has been the top Android OEM, but are we for Android, and just choose Samsung devices, or are we with Samsung, that just so happens to be using Android... And when the time comes, will we stick with one, or the other, Samsung with Tizen, or Android... I kind of also like to see what people think of Tizen... I'm not really sure what to think of the OS. I'll be staying with Android, I know that much...

More afraid of Samsung staying with Android but going the way of Amazon. They want the money from the ecosystem. Wouldn't be surprised if in the future you have to pick a kindle phone, Samsung phone, or Google phone depending on where you want your content and apps to come from. Google Play subscriptions / apps? Amazon subscriptions / apps? Samsung subscriptions / apps? etc
That's why we have XDA

Remember the viability of the OS is almost totally dependant on the catalog of apps. BlackBerry OS 7 & 10 were very functional and secure OS'es but lost their appeal in the market because of the lack of apps. The same could be said for Windows Phone 8 which is much easier to control on the corporate level than either iOS or Android. But IT groups are too scared to give out the phones due to app envy complaints. Tizen could be the second coming but if it doesn't have a catalogue of a 100k apps day one it won't go anywhere.

From everything I understand, you either have to port the app over to android OR install iOs on your phone. The second option would probably more achievable for you, however why would you want to do that to a perfectly good android phone?

I suppose not. IOS is for Apple Co., not for Android.
I am fairly certain you can not do this.
I always wished to make my Android look an iOS devices. There are some buggy launchers, which are useless. I would wish if there was something more stable. Which would tweek the System UI too
Install MIUI or IUNI on your phone. If you need help with that contact me

The best looking IOS UI on Android is a paid version. Requires purchasing a few apps to make it look exactly like IOS 8.0
