atrix 2 with bug - Motorola Atrix 2

hello people, am new to forum, my name is Guilherme and I'm from Brazil, I need help with my Atrix 2, i bought him at e-bay, when it arrived here in Brazil, to my surprise, it arrived with a cracked screen. . well, the seller paid me another screen came here, along with a video with instructions, I changed the screen just fine, but when they procure called him, was a terrible performance and a "track" by climbing down the screen until the mid screen, when it came in half, began to descend, then I saw that if I lock and unlock a few times, it was normal, but after a few seconds the screen went out, then I figured it was software problem, tried him with flashing stock rom using rsd lite, but already at the beginning gave fail, now when I call him, he goes into fastboot, connect to normal, I have to hold the volume button and choose normal powerup. please help me.
Sorry for the bad english, I wrote this using the google translator, but please help-me

OMG, you had to return it as soon as you recieved defective phone. Instead that you accepted by replacing new screen yourseft.
You are the hero now !

is because 40 days had already passed the paypal ...

If RSD Lite failed at the beginning then you should be able to boot up normally.
-Power down your phone
-Boot up holding volume up+volume down+power buttons
-You should be presented with a "boot menu." Press Volume Up to select "Normal Powerup"
-If all goes well your phone should boot up normally.
Which fxz did you try to flash with RSD Lite? Here is a list of all the fxz's that have been leaked for the Atrix 2. On your phone, what does Settings -> About Phone -> System Version say? That will let us know which fxz you should flash.
Sorry to hear your troubles

If you had installed before version 2.3.6 Gingerbread should do a modification on file with the fastboot if you don't , you get an error. Read this guide in the section "How to flash a fxz" very carefully. Also when you go to flash the phone make sure that there is no program running behind, such as MotoCast.

[Q] Did I buy a bricked Nexus S

I bought a Nexus S from craigslist last night and it was out of juice. The seller was like oh bring it back if it doesnt work and I fell for it! I have the box/manuals/charger and everything so the phone was not stolen. When I put it on charge and turned it on this morning all that comes on the screen is google and a unlocked padlock on it. I thought that I can restore it. Went to the recovery mode by pressing volume up an power switch and tried reboot/recover and power off and they all lead to the same screen. volume down and power leads to nothing. So I called the seller and his phone keeps saying its disconnected. I realize I should have been more careful.
Now I am wondering if there is a way to restore the phone as I think that the seller messed up trying to mod the phone and there is no OS on the phone. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I tried installing various recoveries and nothing seems to work since I cannot get super user to load nor can I boot up the phone to the OS. Please help a noob!
What is that "same screen" you are talking about? If it's the Droid with a "!" then you have to press vol up + power again to activate stock recovery.
Since you can access fastboot you should be able to flash a new recovery with adb.
Download the cwm recovery image, put it in /tools folder, run adb in cmd prompt, command is "fastboot flash recovery <recoveryimagename>.img", after that you can mount the internal storage via cwm recovery, copy any rom you like onto it, then "install from zip". I'd also format all parts of the phone once (mount and storage) and wipe dalvik cache (wipe) before you flash the new rom.
If it all doesn't help put the phone into download mode (vol up + vol down and then plug in usb cable while holding those two buttons), samfirmware.com has files (Odin) for the i9020 and i9023 (not NS4G yet).
In case your pc/laptop misses USB drivers you can find a guide on how to install adb and the drivers on unlockr.com.
even easier then that, just download the one click root (the gsm version for gsm or the ns4g one for cdma). turn the phone off then boot it back up by holding volume up and power. this will get you into fastboot, from there run the one clicks until it starts to do stuff to your phone, you may need to boot into fastboot mode again at some point. but it will get you a custom recovery loaded up from there you can download a custom rom and flash it in recovery and have a fully working phone
sounds liek the guy tried to root it and messed up something so he sold it privatly seeing as he couldnt figure it out. his loss is now your gain
the phone as you describe it is fully recoverable (dont use odin as its rather risky if you dont know what to do with it, not when you have things like fastboot or recovery mode)

If you were interested in getting in touch with the seller, try calling that number from another phone. You have been Google Voice blocked.
However, your issue is easily fixed I think and this shouldn't be needed.
rentaric: It keeps going back to the screen that says Google and has a unlocked padlock at the bottom center. I tried doing the recovery by the following link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007782 (The phone is unlocked as it states in Lock State-Unlocked). I was able to finish part 3 as well. In part 4 I get stuck at step #8, where pressing recovery gets me back to Google and unlocked padlock screen. I repeated the procedure multiple times and always get stuck at part 4 step 8. I am trying to get samfirmware going after I try one click root. Will post results.
shabbypenguin: I will download one click root and see where that takes me. I also think there might be some water damage to the phone as the strip on the phone is red and at times buttons dont work.
t1n0m3n: I called the seller from 5 different numbers (US and Canada numbers) and it says the line is disconnected for all numbers. I think he disconnected his phone.
Other notes: Phone looks in great condition so if I can get it running it would be awesome. I paid $250 for it thinking its a great price if the phone worked. Attached is the picture of what the phone does on start up.
are you sure you were able to flash the recovery correctly? does the md5 match? maybe try re-downloading the file?
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
make sure you are using the recovery specific to your device (NS, NS4G)
Where do I find the MD5?
Here is what the phone says on the bootloader mode:
FASTBOOT MODE
PRODUCT NAME - HERRING
HW VERSION - REV 16
BOOTLOADER VERSION - I9020XXKA3
BASEBAND VERSION - I9020UCKD1
CARRIER INFO - ATT
SERIAL NUMBER - 31310A98550B00EC
LOCK STATE - UNLOCKED
And the rest..
Please let me know if anyone can help! Thank you
Are you rebooting the phone after installing the custom recovery (part 3, step 5)?
If yes, skip the rebooting part and go directly into recovery from bootloader screen. In case it works you can continue to mount the usb storage, copy a ROM on your sdcard, unmount, then go back to "Install from zip" after doing all 3 wipes available in "wipe" menu.
If no, then I have no further ideas then using Odin.
Same issue for me, maybe this phone got the NAND Flash problem. Warm it up then try to turn on your Nexus, it worked for me but I sent my Nexus last week to Samsung for repair.
There is a thread in Google Mobile Help Forum (google.com) in Help forum > Google Mobile > Android Devices > Android Applications (not listed above)
Sorry but i can't post the link.
Regards.
I am having the same exact problem with my phone. The only difference is that my Nexus is a sprint phone. Were you able to get your phone working and how did you do it?
---------- Post added at 05:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:15 PM ----------
Im having the same problem with my phone. I have a nexus s and I think I need to flash [RECOVERY] clockwork because it says "fastboot mode - No boot or recovery img." Im using a mac but I cant seem to get it working. Can someone help me. I cant seem to figure out what to do and where to start.

[Q] Possibly unfixable Nexus S?

First off, I know I'm a new member, and I did watch the video, I've been searching the forum for days now trying to find someone with the exact some problem as me but I've come to the conclusion I must be special as I haven't seen this problem else where. Lucky me...
Let me start off with some information about the phone.
Carrier: Vodafone AU (says XSE on the recovery screen)
Baseband Version: I9020XXKI1
Bootloader Version: I9020XXKL1
HW Version: Rev 52
Model: Nexus S i9023
Lock State: Unlocked
Primary computer: iMac
Fairly certain I have USB debugging turned off :\
I rooted and unlocked the phone and was running the latest CyberGR mod ROM and the latest AirKernel kernel. The phone was running brilliantly, not a problem in the world, very smooth, very fast, excellent battery life, I loved it. Only thing I didn't like was how the keyboard became unresponsive at times. For that reason, I think I'll be switching to the Bugless Beast ROM and thalmus kernel when (if) I get this phone fixed.
So a few days ago, the power button on my Nexus S stuffed up and wouldn't work anymore. Completely unresponsive. I couldn't lock/unlock my phone using the power button. I had to either connect/disconnect it from the USB or turn it on/off by taking the battery out to be able to use it. Needless to say, this got very tedious very quickly and I decided to unroot it and send it back to Samsung.
I looked into how to unroot and came across the Odin app and decided that I'd use that to unroot. (noob error on my behalf, I realise now) Regardless of what I'd read, Odin doesn't work on a Nexus S apparently and although I didn't flash to stock, my phone became significantly less useable, half the time it wouldn't respond to anything I did on it. I tried to boot into CWM and although I was able to do so, it was useless as my power button wasn't working.
At this stage, I took out the battery, put it back in and the phone booted up again. I didn't press the power button, it just booted up straight away. I took it out again and held the volume up button on the side and this time, I didn't get put into the CWM menu, but the normal Android recovery menu. I went to press the volume up and down buttons but nothing worked. Power button is still unresponsive.
When I don't boot into recovery, it goes past the Google screen with the unlocked lock on the bottom of it, and goes to a screen where it says "Android" in a metallic style (I disable the boot animation logo in CyberGR mod so I was used to this screen) and it just hung on there, it never booted up past that screen.
Every time I tried to use fastboot -w to wipe the phone, or oem lock or anything, I would just get < waiting for device >
I plugged it into my Windows 7 laptop, tried the one_click_stock app and got the message that my phone has no boot.img. I then googled problems regarding the boot.img and no one really had any solutions that helped me out.
The SDK won't recognise my phone is there, but the sound pops up on Windows saying a device has been connected and disconnected but it never shows up.
Is it bricked or unfixable? Clearly warranty is void, not sure if I should just take it into Vodafone and ask for a new phone (as its still within warranty period, hence why I wanted to lock it and flash a stock ROM).
Very sorry for the lengthy post, I know I was meant to be brief but I thought the more information I could give, the better chance there would be for anyone to help me out. Thanks.
Make the root of your phone with any application in the market and install the recovery ClockworkMod touch with Rom manager premium or Rom toolbox Pro. Restart recovery using Rom manager or Rom toolbox and do a full cleaning on the phone. Wipe only data and cache.
Now, select from mount and storage mount USB storage and copy over to your i9020 storage any rom ( try using the cm9 ). If the installation is successful restart, if not try some other roms. More than that I do not know how to help.
P.s.: In theory it should go smoothly, otherwise I do not assume any liability for further damage to the phone ... Good luck!
Did you know you can operate cwm using the capacitive search button instead of the power button?

Thanks for the reply, I can't actually boot into the phone or get to any market place or any screen that could make the phone useable at all, it just sits on the CyberGR android screen for when you disable the boot animation.

I was pressing the search button (the volume buttons were working when I could boot into CWM) and the text just disappeared off the screen and just showed the logo. I can no longer boot into CWM.
I've installed Ubuntu and I'm going to try running the unrbickable java app that a user on here created, hopefully that may work.

PLEASE HELP ME with galaxy S2 SHW-M250K Boot problem

Please guys, my galaxy S2 SHW-M20K (Korean) is in trouble.
I bought it from a 2nd hand shop , and it was runing Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean (rooted stock rom). I had no problem with it till today when I tried to install "CWM Recovery", After searching the web i found a post with two files that supposedly could do the task. These files are:
1. CWM_KT_M250K.tar
2. Tegrak-Kernel-Build-39-for-SHW-M250K-UE18.tar
Using Odin, I triedd the first file but it couldn't work, and the phone could not boot so i downloaded the "rooted factory firmware" and flashed the phone. Everything was ok. Later I tried the second file. Again the phone could not boot and stuck at the logo with a yellow triangle. After waiting for about 5 minutes I tried to shut it down by pressing the power button it did'nt respond. (Now this is a point that I regret), I removed the battery as a way of forcing to turn it off.
Now my phone cannot boot. It doesn't respond to power button, neither does it allow me to enter recovery mode nor download mode. But When i connect to the charger or pc, it start charging and keeps cutting off the charging frequently. But it only allows me to enter download mode when connected to pc. When I tried to flash the "rooted factory firmware", again, the flashing goes smoothly but when the phone starts rebooting it fails as if there is a power cut. Is my battery damaged? Can someone give me a guide on how to fix it?
I need your help gus, I am not an expert in the rootings and roms,
Pardon My English. It's a foreign language to me.

As u mentioned, I think that your phone has gone to a Soft Brick. I don't know much about the Korean build, so Google it to solve the Soft Brick. Try flashing the stock rom via odin but I don't recommend it since it may cause your phone to be hard bricked if not done properly.
So go to the service centre, you'll get more help there

I thank you sir for responding to this. From what you have said, I think the best decision is to take it to Samsung service center. (For I have tried to google it but I couldn't get a solution). I would also like to know if it is repairable, and about the cost, is it worth repairing or should I think of buying a new phone?
I am stranded.

xt925 bricked - flashing stops at system step

Few weeks ago my phone started closing apps every now and then, sometimes even restarting itself when under "heavy" load like opening Snapchat filters with face recognition for example (maybe the processor is failing?).
The reboot sometimes took 5 minutes, sometimes more. One time it took the phone 1 hour to reboot.
A few days ago it rebooted itself and got stuck on the M logo for hours, I waited literally until battery drained.
Anyways, I tried to flash Android back on it on fastboot mode with RSD but it always stops at the system img step.
It says "PHONE returned FAIL" on RSD.
My Bootloader is Unlocked btw. Battery says OK. Status Code says 3. Fastboot reason says Sticky bit fastboot after the RSD restarts the phone.
I have tried with 3 different files and all stop at flashing system step. I had flashed 4.4 on it before. My phone is originally from Telcel (Mexico)

Did you ever solve this issue?? I've got pretty much the same issue here, except mine is bricked... Won't even turn on, but if I connect to my pc the led turns green and after a few minutes it turns on, straight to fastboot. Same fastboot reason and everything. When I try to flash with rsd, it stays at step 2, trying to flash the sbl1 file... Then it fails and says PHONE returned FAIL... Any info from anyone is greatly appreciated!!

Hello, Luisit0 if your battery went bad then it could do that. Did you try hitting the power button when device is plugged into the home charger of the wall outlet? If you get to the M logo when you do that then its just the battery. If It does not do that and nothing happens you need a fastboot cable so you can flash the stock firmware. the fastboot cable will allow you to go to fatsboot mode without a battery.

HI, thanks for the reply. The thing is, the phone won't even get to the M logo. It charges and everything, but it powers up and goes straight to fastboot... It even said battery low, and after a while plugged in, it said battery ok, so I guess it's charging right. But like I said, no matter what combination I use, even the volume up + power button, it only goes straight to fastboot... I've tried numerous times to flash the Brazil and PR latam firmwares, and even after deleting the getvar and the md5 lines, it still gives me an error on step 2 when attempting to flash the sbl1 file and says FAIL on rsd lite 6.1.4...

Great!! Thanks so much!! I'll try this as soon as I get home in a few minutes, and hit you up after. Thanks again!!
EDIT: Okay so just a little update... I installed the drivers and it seems those were exactly the ones I had already installed, then I installed rsd lite 6.2.4 which you provided... Who wouldve known it was all in the version lol I was using 6.1.5 and, apparently, all I needed was to update... 6.2.4 did the trick!! However, not exactly... The firmware did finally flash completely and successfully, however it still boots directly to fastboot. The difference is, I can now actually access the boot menu holding volume down + volume up + power buttons, though every option I select only makes the bootloader unlocked warning come up and freeze there until I manually turn the phone off holding down the power button. If I select Normal Powerup, after a few seconds the warning goes away, but it never boots up. The other difference is, that now on fastboot, the reason now says "Sticky bit factory_fastboot". I'm going to attempt and flash the same firmware again, or my claropr latam firmware, or pretty much any other latam firmware and see if one of them works. Thanks again so much for your help so far!!!!
EDIT 2: IT LIVES!!!!!! Lol using rsd lite v6.2.4 did the trick. Apparently all I needed was to use the latest version of rsd lite... Man, I honestly cant thank you enough, you saved me a few 3 digit bucks on a new phone!! Lol, thanks so much for all your help!!

Hi guys,
Unfortunately I made mistake buying an S7 second hand off eBay and have noticed that it does not come with the stock rom. Currently the details are:
Baseband version: G930FVPU1APB5
Kernel version: 3.10.72 [email protected] #17 Fri Apr 1 16:17:56 CST 2016
Build number: LRX22G.G930FZCU1AOD9
Custom built version: SEPF_SM_G930F_5.0.2_008
Doing a quick Google search and I can't find much information on this so I thought f**k it, will just flash the stock rom.
I have downloaded Odin and got the firmware ready but I cannot get the phone into download mode when I hold POWER, HOME and VOL DOWN upon restarting the phone. It initially took me to a custom menu screen but I cannot seem to replicate this nor can I remember the options on the screen.
Holding POWER, HOME and VOL UP would take me to a black boot screen whereby you choose 3 options: Recovery Mode, Fast Boot, Normal Boot. Choosing Recovery Boot would just take me to a screen saying "No command" and has an image of the Android character on a black screen.
Can anybody identify this firmware and how do I go about flashing it with the stock rom? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Sounds like you bought a clone (fake) Galaxy s7.. A quick Google search of that baseband lead me here: http://www.dhgate.com/product/five-pieces-tempered-glass-new-5x-clear-screen/254381705.html
Also what happens when you attempt to enter download mode is definitely not normal... Sorry mate, try to contact the seller back or file a complaint or something.
edit: also the built version shows 5.0.2 Which is early Lollipop, the S7 shipped with Marshmallow out of the box and there's no Lollipop rom's for it at all. It's most definitely a fake phone.
As said previously, definitely fake. LRX (Lollipop) builds are non-existent on real S7s.
Thanks for the replies guys, do feel like an idiot right now

Wrong forum, if it's a fake, it's not a Samsung, so methods here won't work
