I really can't decide wich to get.
I like Boxwaves but they don't have for Trinity, will others fit?
And second wich is better anti-glare or crystal. I think I want anti-glare but is it clear enough?
Anyway hope someone has some brilliant advice
http://overlayplus.com/BE/dis_product.asp?model=d_d810&modeln=P3600&prod_type=screen
i got this one and i can higly recommend it.
you just cant tell its there
For me there are no better ones than from MartinFields
http://www.martinfields.co.uk/productdec.asp?pid=2683&modeln=P3600&model=d_d810
I agree! Martin Fields Overlay is the way forward
(I do wish it was anti-glare though, the sunlight can make it quite difficult to see things sometimes and its not even summer yet)
So what about boxwaves anti-glare? Wouldn't they be better then?

I ordered one of the boxwave ones, we shall see how they are
Are there any protectors which help with veiwing the screen outside in sunlight? I thought 'anti-glare' was just anti-reflective, and nothing to improve contrast or brightness?
I have found that the screen is really hard to see, even on the brightest setting.
My previous SE p910 did not have this problem, and was great in sunlight. I'm using a Martin Fields protector, but I don't think that the problem - I had one on my P910 too

Yeah, if anyone does find something which makes sunlight viewing better than please share, because I too am having huge difficulties making anything out in daytime outside.
No trouble in night/daylight/sunlight/w.e. I'm using a Brando Ultra Clear screen protector.
You can only see the protector on the screen when you look very very closely.
You can take the protector off and wash it, but I don't advise you to do that because it's difficult to get your screen dustfree again..
The support of Brando is also super-great!
I second the Brando recommendations.
It is the best one I have used. Uses no glue, so can be repositioned. But it holds very fast using vacuum principles and static. No, it doesnt shift around on its own. In fact can only be removed with a loop of sticky tape.
Secondly, it is perfectly visible in sunlight. I have SPB mobile shell and have the screen brightness adjustment on my today screen. In sunlight the lowest setting is almost invisible, but even the second lowest setting is visible in sun with this protector. The brightest settings are more than enough for even very bright sunlight.

Hey guys,
I upgraded from my OG droid to the TB which I should get Tuesday. I already ordered a BSE for it, had nothing but good luck with these things although I will probably only put the front on. Added the extended warranty for $1.99 a month. Anything important I should do when I receive it? I know the battery life seems to be an issue, so any tweaking tips would help. Also, any way to get rid of the stock apps without rooting? I do not want all of that BB junk on my phone. Thanks!
Don't use Friend Stream, turn off gps, dim screen to lowest, and turn on WiFi. There are other tweaks and apps you should turn off. Any apps running in the background will suck the juice off the battery. I'm getting full day use with moderate usage. And always turn your screen off if you're not using the phone.
Sent from using XDA Premium App
Just root it, run a good ROM like Perfect Storm or BAMF with an undervolted kernel and you'll be fine on the battery side.
You dont have to neuter your phone, just be aware of what is really necessary to have running all the time, and what can be run as needed.
an extended battery wouldn't hurt either. i find i like the fact i can get 12+ hours with my phone in jersey, a 4g area.
I did that same thing a couple weeks ago. I've discovered that disabling as much sense as possible helps a lot. Also, recommend adding tyre advanced radio tools (after rooting of course) to give yourself the ability to disable 4g. It's the single biggest battery hog I've had to deal with.

Im Running None rooted TB with Launcher pro to give it a more Vanilla feel and hid all bloatware I dont use on options and added more rows to home screen. Waiting for Cyanogen before root.

Why not use friend stream? You just set it to check 1 time per day...
Upgraded from OG Droid here as well.
I run Bamf 1.4 with Adrynalyne's 4.4.2 Kernel. Clocked to 1.5GHz in SetCPU with the smartass governor. With these new governors you don't need to have a screen off profile. I just run one profile.
Turn screen brightness to 50% and up whenever you need, down whenever you need.
Keep Wifi, GPS, sync etc off when you aren't using them. Its pretty obvious. If you were rooted on the OG Droid you will feel right at home here.
Otherwise Just sit around like the rest of us and wait for CM7 to come out for this device.
Yes, with smartass you don't need any profiles bit with other governors like on demand it wouldn't hurt.

From what I've been reading, I've theorized that there are two different versions of T-bolts. The earlier phones have god awful glass and faulty power buttons. I keyed my phone last night to test the screen and it passed with flying colors.
You should know that when you first get the phone your battery will die very quickly. It should get better after I couple days.

I already ordered a Best Skin ever, but will probably only use the screen portion. I find they work pretty well for me and had it on my iphone 2g, HTC Fuze, 2 OG droids, nokia e71 and never had an issue. Hopefully the power button and glass won't be a huge issue for me. Thanks!
Just get it i don't think you will be disappointed. Get a case and screen protector

Just look at verizons coverage map of nj. I live in manalapan where there is no 4g but i work in times square so i get to go in and out of 4g. going north, you first hit it once you go over the raritan river on the parkway, or even just going to new brunswick.
Hey guys, just got the t-bolt and it is sweet! Makes my OG droid look like crap! Anyway, I am thinking about rooting but wanted to know if there was a way to go back to stock if I needed to warranty the phone for some reason. Thanks!
compared to the iphone 4 i used to have, the infuse's glass sucks.
had the iphone from its release to the infuse's release in may, and the screen didn't hold fingerprints (easily wiped off) and had 0 scratches. apple's oleophobic coating works very well. my infuse doesn't get clean easily, fingerprints just smudge around and the screen looks nasty all the time. also, it's got small scratches all over it.
not saying the iphone is a better device overall, just that apple is superior to samsung in fit and finish, and material quality.
...not to mention the horrible color quality and banding you get at anything lower than 25% brightness, or the general creakiness and weird sounds the device makes (not solidly built at all)
i've had the phone for just around six months and though it's been nice in many ways (performance and camera quality are good) , the infuse has mostly put me off getting another samsung phone.
anyone else have similar experiences? any solutions for my screen woes?

Yea! I get very sweaty hands at times, half the reason why I bought a big phone. I will admit dust, smudges, and fingerprints do make the phone harder to read if I'm outdoors. But when I'm indoors the smudges and fingerprints on the screen still make it very readable. I use a microfiber cloth that is very soft to clean my phone screen off each and everyday from smudges, dust, and fingerprints. The coating over the glass is what is causing fingerprints and smudges hard to clean off.
Edit: I don't like the sound and looks of phone protectors.
I've had my Infuse since August, and a Captivate for nearly a year before that. NEVER had a scratch on either screen. Gorilla Glass is awesome. Never use a film protector. My Infuse glass is like new. I wouldn't wipe with an Apple product, and just as my 'droid does, I eat apples.
Screen on infuse is awesome! You may want to Quit using screen protectors... Mine screen still looks brands new. Picked up the infuse on launch day and never used anything for protection! There's no way you can do that with an iPhone!

I didn't even bother getting a screen cover for mine and it's still like new after using it everyday for 3 months. No scratches, and i don't really experience the banding problem that you mentioned at all. In comparision to the iphone, i don't know why you say it has worse color quality. Side by side, the OLED display kicks the iphone display out of the water in terms of color production, not so much in terms of pixel resolution, but that doesn't affect color.
i don't use a screen protector
color quality is only worse at low brightness settings, at max brightness the infuse is far better than the iphone
you guys don't get banding issues at low brightness? i asked about this before and the general consensus was that this is a flaw with SAMOLED+ displays, and that there was nothing i could do about it.
@axiomkid
that coating on the glass (not a screen protector, the coating from the factory) should be there to prevent fingerprints and oil from collecting on the display, not to make it more difficult to remove! that's the purpose it served on my iphone, at least. dunno if samsung is doing something backwards here lol

nope. considering i am at 0 brightness most of the time, and less than 10% most of the other time, I don't see any such issues.
for me, greys and blues look horrible at low brightness. it's gotten worse since i originally bought the device back in may.
it appears as weird color banding and artifacting that is in a constant pattern on the display, as in it doesn't move when i scroll something.

Have you tried supercurio's screen tuning app (requires root)? It helps out a lot with the blurry text and banding. I can't say I have anything but love for my SAMOLED+ screen myself.
I haven't really had any issue with the glass either. I have very few scratches, no big noticeable scratches at all since I've had it, and when I get finger prints on it I just pop it out of it's case and wipe it on my sleeve and it's typically fine. If I let the screen get really dirty, it might take just a drop or two of water to help clean it, but the glass on my phone is in great condition.
supercurio's app is a huge improvement over the stock settings, but mostly just for text in my experience
banding isn't much iproved
Supercurio's screen tuning app works great even on Stock Froyo 2.2. No issues with display set at 9% Brightness, I never go higher than that since it's not needed and I rather not fry my eyeballs with the screen brightness being too bright.
Edit: Had my Infuse for about 2 months now, Not a single scratch, nic, dent, Not ANYTHING! (Knock On Wood!)
My glass is scratch free and I have no problems wiping the screen off when *my hands* smudge it.
wow,
my experience has just been the opposite. The Infuse Gorilla screen is awesome, no protector, no scratches and i typically just wipe the screen on my jeans or shirt. once a week use a damp cloth on the screen only. I got the Infuse 2 weeks after release last spring.
Prior to the Infuse, I had also had the ip4, 3gs, and 3g and think the Infuse screen minics the ip4. I thought the finger print protection on the iPhone4 was garbage...didn't work on my phone.
i guess i just got a good iphone, and a crappy infuse
My phone is always in my pocket with my keys and change and i have no scratches on it. Smudges come off easy so its just u having an issue. Maybe make sure your hands are clean before u touch your screen.

+1. Its an expensive piece of tech, don't rub your grubby hands after eating some wings on it (exaggeration) and then complain on how dirty the screen is. Besides, the crappy iPhone glass is WAY more prone to cracks and such than the infuse glass.

The screen on my phone is fantastic. I've never had any issues on it. Now iphone, yes. My 3G screen scratched myself on an empty pocket.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
its not an iPhone... Its a Samsung Infuse.
Why would you make a thread just to complain?
The iPhone is a great phone, however some of those claims are just ridiculous. The glass is undeniably better on the Infuse than the iPhone 4. That's just a fact. Some of the complaints are valid, like the build quality and camera. You win some you lose some.
not sure the problem my screens fine no issues, screens still looks bran new
Any recommendations for Huawei mate 9 Pro cases?

I got a leather case for my google pixel from stilgut, it claims its genuine leather, texture is real good, you can find it on amazon
I picked up a this case.
It's very good quality and feels very nice however, the "always on" screen is no longer "always on". The case and it's smaller window is detected and when the phone first turns off the smaller clock appears on the right side of the screen however, after the timeout the clock turns off leaving me a blank screen.
If I remove the case, the normal "always on" screen function works perfectly.

I have similar to this, but I got the official "Smart View" case, which is basically identical to this one, but not leather... Always On acts same way as you explained, however if i just open the front flap and turn the screen off, Always On displays... this is per design - the smartview case is not meant to have an AlwaysOn display in that little window, just when someone calls or you get a message, or alarm goes off does it turn on etc. It would have been great tho, if they did make it show the smaller Clock AOD type display in this window at all times (if I have AOD turned on).
Thanks.
So, it's not my case then that's at fault as you have the official case and it also has the same problem.
Oh well, hope Huawei read this and add it to the functionality for the next firmware.

Yeah it would be good, fingers crossed.. i'm not 100% on how the AOD works compared to that bar of display you can see thru the smartview window (as this is actually screen on in full but limited to that section. This feature has been available on a bunch of previous devices by Huawei, but AOD was only just introduced on this model). I guess they would have to modify the AOD to have 2 functional types, full screen AOD and then smartview window sized AOD...

The PRO has an AMOLED screen which allows this without destroying the battery performance. AMOLED only uses power for anything OTHER than black so, the small AOD clock with it's minimal pixels in use drains a tiny amount of battery as the vast majority of the screen isn't powered and left black. LCD (as used on the normal Mate 9) on the other hand actually uses a backlight (AMOLED doesn't) and that's why it's an "all or nothing" screen which also means it drains more power. My wifes S7 and my Note 7, both with AMOLED screens, did the "always on" thing. In particular, the Note 7 was excellent as it also showed next appointment and notifications.
The LG(?) has a separate LCD screen at the top of it that is tiny. As it's separate it's only a small amount of power used to light that screen and not the main screen.

Yeah ok, they would just need to adjust the AOD to display only thru the thin part of the Smartview window area, right now AOD displays smack bang centered in the AMOLED display (and too large for the area of this smartview window)... so as I suggested, they just need to modify the AOD service to detect that a SmartView Windowed case is On, then define the area of AMOLED screen to be used and make it slightly smaller for the AOD clock etc, instead of the putting it in full size in centre of the screen.

Yup, exactly. Just a minor (Probably) software change.

It is crystal clear protection with advanced 2X tough coating enhances the Huawei Mate 9 Pro original look with minimal bulk. It is also soft flexible premium edges cover all four corners with guards and tapered lips to offer vital lift design for daily usage scratches.
Hello,
I got my P30 today and I really like it. The only thing concerning me is its screen. In standard mode (color profile and temperatur) the white looks way too warm and the colors look pale. Then, I played a little with the settings and either get a good white and pale colors or a too warm white but a little better colors (contrast).
However the white looks pretty great on the AoD.
I also have to mention that I removed the preinstalled screen protector and use a tempered glass by spigen. Maybe this has something to do with it?
Has anyone the same issues or can recommend a good tool to calibrate the display or enhance the contrast? I come from a Oneplus 6 and its screen was way better than the P30's except of brightness.
Thanks for your help in advance.
