[MOD] [V1.3] Hacked Galaxy SIII S-Voice (Voice Talk) - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I saw yesterday an xda tweet about blocking Svoice on non Galaxy S3 devices, so i got the idea to test it for the first time , it seemed easy to hack, so i made a hacked version for test, it seems to bypass the famous "server error" .
This mod is based on SVoice extracted from my deodexed XXALE8.
[MOD] Hacked SIII S-Voice (Voice Talk) V1.3 (Make sure you have a free space on your system partition, it needs ~100Mo)
It's a CWM patch for Galaxy S2 tested with my Rom (DEODEXED) GT-I9100_WanamLite V11.7 (XWLPD - ICS Android 4.0.3), for any other device i'm not if it will works for you, but if you want to try, MAKE A BACKUP and extract & copy the files to your device and reboot.
Known behavior :
S-Voice is a Samsung App compatible with Samsung Apps only, so if it doesn't launch your apps on your Non Samsung Roms (Alarm, calendar, phone, messagings...), that's because it always try to launch the Sammy one.
Double home button tap may not work for S-Voice, it's working for Vlingo because it's launched on a different path.
SGS2 Rom :
Code:
00100: const-string v1, "com.vlingo.client.samsung"
00102: const-string v2, "com.vlingo.client.car.CarActivity"
SGS3 Rom :
Code:
06804: const-string v6, "com.vlingo.midas"
06806: const-string v7, "com.vlingo.midas.gui.ConversationActivity"
It's easy to fix on any Sammy Rom, but my patch won't be generic that way .
Changeslog :
V1.3 : Fixed Alarm settings
V1.2 :
Fixed WakeUp message personalization
Added SGS3 TTS files (hopefully improved voice recognition)
V1.1 Added missing TTS
V1.0 initial hacked app
Screenshots :

Dowloading and I will give you the feedback after test, sure.

Added missing TTS files on V1.1.

Works like a charm.
Definitely No needed to upgrade to S3 for me as we are getting all the mods and apps from s3. Hahahaha
Merci l'ami Wanam
Big cheers

past master

I installed it and play for a while but:
When I try to setup my own wake up message S voice screen goes black and I need to restart the phone becouse it stops responding.
The same happens randomly when I was playing with voice commands.
I use Wanamlite 11.7 and Abyss Kernel 4.0.
Edit:
Double click home button doesn`t bring S Voice so the wake up message and also the speech recognition is poor - but prolly its my accent

I will fix the wakeup msg personalisation issue asap.
For the double click, it's disabled on my v11.7, there is a separate patch for this.

It's a CWM patch for Galaxy S2, you can make CWM patch for your device if you have an other or just extract & copy the files to your device.

Sorry, probably this is a noob question,
how do you uninstall the app if it is not working?

[Pre-Alpha][4.1.2] XWLSD stock JellyBean

Hello everybody!
Here I release an initial pre-alpha preview version of my latest work. It is stock Samsung JellyBean based on the latest WanamLite rom.
Features:
Based on Android 4.1.2 JellyBean
Based on CyanogenMod 10 (build: 23rd December)
Based on Samsung Galaxy S2 XWLSD (changelist: 889555)
Based on WanamLite rom V14.1
It has all the nice features a stock Samsung JB rom can offer (MultiWindow, better AllShare integration, new TouchWiz interface)
Screenshots can be found here
What works:
It boots
BlueTooth
Both SD cards
Vibration
Sound
There are a lot of bugs! It's definitely not ready for being a daily driver.
Download link: http://d-h.st/s7W
Installation instructions:
Do a full wipe
Flash with recovery
Reboot and wait (first boot takes approximately 3 minutes)
Every custom modification to devices have risks. Flash this at your own risk!
Have fun and enjoy!
All hail Adam.
First thanks to you.
I am awesome You are not

i know its cant b for daily driver but with all of us it will b.
so, as usual i made a general thread here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173191
share all related this development there. let Devs work for the mobile in peace

None of them works yet. I tried with CM RIL and it gave network, but it has some unimplemented methods and gave "com.android.phone stopped" error.
ok as adam stated that calls arent working but let me give you review of the preivew version.
As this cant b used as daily driver but its like eye candy to us.
first impression was wow.
starting from the top:
1) toggles are looking great and working like charm. Its just like GS3 or note 2.
2) it has brightness bar.
3) setting button is on notification bar.
4) It has Touchwiz 5 (I think).
5) I can see all files in file manager, means file manager are working in case of checking files.
6) you can check all settings coz setting are working fine.
7) sound are working.
8) touch is working flawlessly but dont compare it with CM10.1 smoothness.
9) Bluetooth is working great.
so, its not enough coz bug list is more then above:
1) network is not working and when u select it manually it give u Sim is not inserted error.
2) wifi is not working. somewhere i manage to Let it ON but after that setting hung.
3) GPS is not working for me coz there is no network communications.
4) video not working.
5) you can't install any applications as its not detecting the internal memory(means application storage)
6) also package installer is not working so file manager is not detecting the applications. means if u tap over applications it will give u error "No application can run this" or like that.
7) camera is giving FC.
8) there is no boot animation.
so, if there would b any catlog application inbuilt then i could provide u the logcat of all bugs.
i donno how to take screenshot in JB(i tried all combination) but didnt able to take.
but adam buddy u are great. you knew it, that if u will flash the s2 rom over your R then it could brick ur mobile permanently. but you again did it..
Adam you greatness!
Update: I just flashed GAPPS and they work(Google Now crashes though).
Update:
30 mins of my usage: Bootanimation is the plain android 1(not samsung)
It runs just as SMOOTH as it should
It is the latest TouchWiz(With circular folder)
GAPPS are not a part of the rom. Can be flashed separately
Both Storages show on PC when usb connected.
Mass storage works for the Internal storage. Couldn't get SD card on PC via mass storage
Music Player works (Music square doesn't)
Gallery opens but full pics don't show(some thumbnails and low res pics show.)
Wallpaper change works.
Auto-brightness works
Multi-window works
A part of the dialer kind of goes out of the display(See screenshot)
Power off, reboot and hot boot are jumping me directly into the bootanimation and start the phone again
Video player, Camera apps crash.
Motion doesn't work I guess. I changed the lock to motion lock, locked the phone and the phone rebooted.
No network, wifi
Overall its great work by adam again. You are truly replacing Samsung for us now
*Screenshots attached*
Adam ur god for us...all hail adam! !

I am trying to port the latest MIUI rom. I guess this one is just the same as the old LA-Q1 port by apkhot
Good to see custom roms for play. Liked this rom but is there any patch or method to increase colour saturation?
My display seems washed out. Plus there is a slight flicker when opening a menu(when a popup message is shown and the background is dimmed).
Any way to resolve this?

This is because you have flashed some other mods into /system. Flash stock using Odin or restore a backup, then flash again. You can also dig into that /system/app and delete unused crap to save space, then reflash the mod. This happened because you don't have enough free ROM space, so the CWM installer did not copy the files (in your case, SecContacts.apk, SecTeleService.apk, and InCallUI.apk). For starters, you can remove S Voice and AllShare.

First of all, my phone is brand new 1 day old, i came from latest G8 firmware updated via OTA, rooted with your instructions in another thread, and flashed the zip file step by step and i did it carefully.. But after first boot all of my telephony app went missing.. Everything back to normal bcoz i flash stock rom..
UPDATE : i tried everything, reflash stock ROM - rerooting via CWM from your suggestion - reflash zip addon.. aaaaand it's gone..
NB : if i may add, could you please add dial app with dual sim support, in the screenshots the dial app seems only support single sim. thanks.

Your problem happened with me when I flashed this mod to a friend's Grand 2. This is because there's much junk in the ZIP. I fixed that, in addition to adding Note 3 Air Command. The update will be released tomorrow in the main post.
About the dialer, it does support Dual SIM, but I had only one SIM in the device when I took the snapshots.
And thanks for your effort. I'll notify you in PM when I upload the updated ZIP.
is it really able to isntall it to stock rom G8
i am using stock rom xse g8 4.2.2 (yes it rooted)
can i install it on my phone ?
thx in advance for your answer ... :fingers-crossed:

I'm going to investigate this issue. I (and you) may have to wait till old Sam makes a new phone with the S5 UI (dialer+contacts) AND Dual SIM.
About separating the Note 3 features, that's a really god idea!
And, oui, monsieur, what do you mean by saying "S5 toggles"? Well, I got them, even in the old mod. Except if you mean something else.
P.S. Can't you keep changing SIMs from the widget or the Notification Panel as a temporary fix?

Instructions:
BE PATIENT!!! The Rom Will Take 10 Min Or More To Boot The First Time! And Even Longer If You Do A Dalvik Or Cache Wipe Once Rom Is Installed!!!
1. put rom on internal or external sd card
2. reboot to safetrap
3. do full wipe/data/system/cache
4. flash rom
5. reboot to download mode from safestrap
6. flash VZW_BOA8_RETAIL_FIRMWARE_ONLY.tar.md5 Make sure it is the retail firmware and not just the kernel

I only ask this here since there is a momentary concentration of modders present. Is the capability to add a switchable "dark ui" feature like in Carbon possible in Touchwiz Roms or is that only in AOSP??
I assume the dev edition needs to wait for a kernel?
Its uploaded. Please read the instructions!

That is what the OP states. Give it a few days, these guys are really fast at getting the debloat zips tightened up. Lolipop is a new animal so prolly gotta start from scratch on some parts.

This might actually work. Lots of questions though. Like how to get it back to English if it boots. There are kernels for the 925p.
I'm not brave enough to try it since I really need my phone bad for another month or so. I hope someone gets brave and tries it.
Since it's a 7.0 kernel that would be where to start. Flash the kernel and see if it boots.

I did a few personal build.prop changes so it matched our G925P, forgot to transfer some CSC files, but besides that, I rezipped/flashed, then flashed a stock kernel that I pulled from another 7.0 rom (I don't really know how to make a kernel flashable, I used a template so if anyone can help me with that, I can try again)......anyways, it doesn't boot fully, I can still go back to recovery, but it doesn't get passed the splash screen, not sure if its because the kernel zip I made didn't actually work causing it to fail at start or if the boot animation is messed up and it's loading up but not showing any UI. So far that's all the progress I made, good thing is that it didn't cause any bricks on my device

I figured as much, it's not even recognizing the sim. Seems like a pretty nice rom, though...
I'm in the U. S. (California) with a SIM-unlocked SM-G925P on a Straight Talk plan using the AT&T SIM. On first boot, everything was in Vietnamese, which was kind of a problem - I only read English. After fumbling around a bit, I managed to set the language to English. Off to a good start.
Data is off by default, so a quick toggle from the notification drop down turned it on - APN settings were auto-magically there. Data connection was HSPA+ though, so I popped into RadioInfo using the "Hidden Settings" and set the preferred network type to "LTE/UMTS" (YMMV, I'm on an AT&T MVNO). LTE connected from there.
ROM speed is pretty snappy. Fingerprint reader seems to work a little better. None of the Google apps are installed so you must get them from the Play store, if you're into that kind of thing.
All in all, not bad.
