Hello Elegancia dev team.
First and foremost, I want to say thanks for a very nice ROM.
After the last 3 or 4 updates a problem has occured. The phone has begun to turn off spontaneously. It is worst when there are approximately 50% power left. It lies on the table and turns off by itself. It also happens, when it is in my pocket. It takes me about 3 attempts to turn it on again. Sometimes I have to take out the battery and when I insert it again, the phone turns on rather quickly and problem has been solved for a couple of days. After 2 days I am back to square one.
I have tried both kernels ie 1.2 and 1.6 HTZ and it is the same problem.
I hope it is something that can be solved.
It's Sense 3.6, which has the problem.
Sorry it is not written in the right thread, but the dev. thread is locked for me.
Does anyone know what to do?
Regards Morten

Tried only bricked kernel? Maybe you should try faux or sebastianFM. They're working both great
gesendet von meinem Htc Sensation Elegancia Phoenix 3.7.6 Anthrax Kernel
You could try a different ROM to see if that helps. If not, then it's mostly a hardware problem.
Hi Doc!
Did you update just by flashing the newest version over the last each and everytime?
If yes you should try to Superwipe your phone and start fresh without any added applications then those included with the ROM. Superwipe, install and let 10-15 mins for your phone to settle before rebooting and then start configuring your phone.
Do the basics first your email account, not more and let see if your phone will replicate this issue.
You can flash this Superwipe just before flashing a fresh version of Elegancia 3.7.6 Don't forget to verify the MD5 : 6a88266c3c6cb664d305a4e101c566ae
I will try to follow you in the resolution of your problem.
Try different roms with stock kernel. Sounds like hardware to me

hi Lucky Thirteen
I have superwiped a couple of times, it remains the same.
I have followed the instructions everytime when flashing a new update. When the phone is updated I let it settle for 10-15 min before rebooting
I'm not sure how or where to check the DM5 no. Can you please tell my how and where?

Hi Doc!
Yes you need 10 messages before being able to post in the dev thread.
Which kernel did you tried with your ROM? Bricked? Faux123? SebastianFM? Did you try a stock ROM just to see if the problem is still the same? Have you done a data restoration with Titanium Backup? Or Nandroid? Did you try to install a previous ROM that you know your phone was running great with? Is your phone excessively hot? Or the battery?
What is a MD5 checksum?
A checksum MD5 is not aimed at guaranteeing the provenance of a file or a group of files. His interest is to allow the check on the integrity of recovered data.In fact, no one is sheltered by a disturbance or by a network problem have the effect the corruption of an archive in the course of downloading.

When you download a file generally the emitter give to users a MD5 hash like the one in my previous post. Now, to check the MD5 checksum you need a small program like this one . It's real easy and takes generally less than a minute to do, you paste the MD5 provided with the file you just downloaded in the appropriate box, then you Browse to the file you want to check, if the result is a perfect match, your file is not corrupted and good to use. It is valuable habit to take, it can save you to bricked your phone with a corrupted file.
Use this stock rom (rooted) to bring your phone back to life ....Than you can flash any other custom rom
Stock rom HERE
You do know how to flash pg58img ?
EDIT
On second thought, you should also format your SD....
so mate
1.Backup your documents...pic ...music.... on your pc
2.Go to recovery and FORMAT SD
3.Toggle USB...and transfer pg58img on sd
4.Open power menu----> reboot in bootloader
5.Follow the instruction on (phone) screen
If this is still happening after doing the great advice already given to you then you might have a corrupt file on your sd card so if you have another sd card insert it and try to do a clean flash and start from scratch. Do not restore your data (apps and system data) as you may have files that are causing these issues on your device.
When you load your apps back on only put back the apps you have to have on the device and run it for a while and see if the problem goes away, continue this until you have all the apps back on the device.
If you have flashed other ROMs and it is still happening and flashed other kernels but your device is still having these issues the next step is to clear your sd card and start with a completely clean device. If this doesn't fix the problem then you may have a problem with hardware possible the power button.
If you are going to clean (format) your sd card make sure to back-up your pics and vids then after you are done transfer the ROM you are going to flash back onto the sd card and flash away. Problems like these usually can be solved they just take time and energy.
If you need to flash the firmware like dublinz said then after it has flashed and it asked you to reboot take the sd card out put into your laptop and erase the " pg58img " then put the sd card back in and then reboot. If you forget to delete the " pg58img " then the device goes into a boot loop.
Good luck

OP, after I flashed from 4.2 to 4.3 I was having the same issue. After a few charges it stopped doing it. I'm not sure if this will be the case for you but just thought you should know.

Had exactly the same issue ..... tried all possible solutions unsuccesfully. at the end i was forced to chenge rom (ordroid) and now everything is ok

A while back my phone started to freeze up and I would have to battery pulls everytime. And once i turn it back on, in a matter of seconds, it freezes up again causing another battery pull. I probably had to do 30-40 battery pulls. This all happened so randomly too.
I tried to flash another rom ( BinDroid ) and when I did, it said installation aborted.Same with the full wipe. Then I flashed again and it worked but when it booted it went to the lock screen and everything but when I pulled the ring, it froze again. And it kept on doing that too. I tried to flash Leedroids then but it said Error in formatting system. Then Installation aborted. Then itll say something like " E:recovery/cache/last_log" <--- not correct but something like that, everytime I flash something itll say that.
I dont know what to do anymore. Please someone help. Thank you
Install the factory RUU and see what happens. See how everything works before you start adding apps.
Have you tried a new sd card. If an installation fails and then works with the same zip, it would seem the sd card could be causing issues.
Ill see what I can do. Thank you for the help guys.
Hi, something like that happened to me and ended up replacing the phone as it was still under warranty (I needed to unroot it).
Most likely was an emmc issue, see my post here:

Hope it helps.

Hi,
Sometimes my Sensation just reboots itself. My first thought was because of the beta version of the ICS, so I decided to go back to the Ginger. But im still having the same problem.
Does someone has the problem and what did you do, to let it disappear
Thanks
reeboots
hi,
first you should download the latest firmware package from mike1986 and upgrade.
put it on your sd and go into bootloader and let it detect it (that the one you need "Firmware from 3.12.401.2/102 RUU")
after that put your wanted rom and do full wipe ext4 and than flash your wanted rom.
remember don't use any ad dons that are not supported it will cause you those reboot problems, also when restoring from backup restore only data like sms and ppl. apps data may be not supported and could cause problems.
good luck...
Ok, i'll try it again.
I've already did that so.. we shall see..
Thanks ;-)
The random reboots seem to be a quite common problem. I'm also having this issue. But setting the phone to either GSM only or WCDMA only seems to keep it alive (if the cause for reboot is the same as mine of course..). I installed the new firmware hoping it would help but I still get reboots. It's actually not a reboot as the phone just turns off and I have to manually turn it on again.
Yes its the same as me, but sometimes my phone 'reboots' more than once in 5 minutes..
Also my battery change from 5% to 30% to 7% to 41%...

Hi, everybody!
Does anybody know, what happens if to flash radio with the incorrect MD5sum?
Can it be harmful for HARDWARE?
If you mean harmful as in you want your phone to be a paper weight then yeah, harmful.
It's one of the surest ways to destroy a phone.

i remember that some time back a few people flashed the wrong radio & bricked their device ...so it is very risky to flash radio with wrong md5sum it will almost certainly brick your device
Oh, well... the point is, that I recognized yesterday, that I flashed the radio with incorrect MD5sum, then I flashed the older radio (with correct MD5), then tried to flash the newest one again..
Interesting is, that the phone worked in all conditions, but started to reboot suddenly -mostly while talking..
And - as I tried to flash the same radio (the latest one) but with the correct MD5 sum - the phone frozen on the HTC splash screen and I made soft-reset, restored cache an so on... so the fact is that the phone wasn't bricked, worked (not well, but still) and the right radio flashed worse, than the wrong one... WTF?
That's why I asked the question above... so, do you think I should go to HTC service?
The radio is just code/configuration files like all system components. Sometimes this code or missing parts of it can cause a bootloop. Sometimes complete brick. Sometimes nothing. Depends on what part of it is corrupted. If you can boot to bootloader or recovery there is a great chance to fix. If not, well the answer is in your post. Tell them that it just stopped working

No, the device is working - I just continue to look for the reason of sudden reboots..
What's done:
SIM-card changed,
Battery tightened
SD card changed
Radio reflashed
ROM reflashed/flashed as clear installation
cache+dalvik wiped - without reflashing ROM
changed the settings of mobile data from GSM/WCDA (preferable WCDMA) to GSM/WCDMA (auto) - actually, don't uderstand clearly, what is the difference between them, but it seems, that the first "GSM/WCDA" is some custom thing (because of error in the name in settings menu of CM 7.2.0 nightly 03.02.12)
2 try:
change HBOOT to 0.98.2000 (I suppose it doesn't play role, but still.. )

OK, so I got it a bit wrong.
Changing the hboot to 0.98.2000 is a good precaution in case something goes wrong with your phone - there will be a great chance to restore it with RUU only.
For your current situation:
1) try different ROM
2) always perform full wipe of all partitions before installing new ROM
3) if 1 and 2 give no positive result try to flash the previous version of radio (wipe your cache before that)
4) never pull battery if stuck in bootloop, wait it to drain (better patience for several hours than a Desire S on the garbage)
good luck
Ever since I flashed my first ROM, my phone will start doing random bootloops. The part that is WEIRD about this, is that it only seems to happen between about midnight and 8am. I'm on my phone a lot during the day and it runs fine. It will occasionally (maybe 2-3 times a week) freeze up and need a battery pull, but it's fine otherwise.
But in the late evening, it will get weird. And there's no real key to what is setting it off. Sometimes it will start a boot loop around 12:30/1:00am but with a battery pull and reboot, it's fine until the next night. Sometimes it will start a boot loop around 6am and it's the same thing. I will occasionally have to try a few times to get it to quit looping, but it seems like once 8am rolls around, it quits.
I'm fairly certain this has to do with the fact I'm running custom ROMS, but what is it that is setting it off? I had this issue with CoreDroid and Honey SmartDroid. It was much worse with CoreDroid, and in reading through that massive thread, it was decided that it just didn't play well with a handful of phones. Some hardware issue. (which made me sad because I loved CoreDroid, but didn't want to risk my phone getting bricked since I'm out of warranty and too close to a renewel to pay the insurance claim) Honey SmartDroid didn't do it the first few nights, but then it started in.
I've tried changing my charging cable (I usually recharge at night, and thought that might be it) as well as not recharging at night. With both ROMs, I did a total wipe and re-installed, letting it run for a few days without any extra apps installed (except for a basic few, such as update to Facebook, Gtask, etc). Nothing that I can think of that changes any of my phone settings during those hours. It does it anyway.
I haven't tried running anything closer to stock ROM for more than a few hours because they honestly bore me now that I've seen how awesome of the other ones are. So I don't know if switching back would solve the boot loop issue. But if I need to do that to prevent damage to my phone, I will. I just want to know what's causing the boot loops and why only during those hours?
Thanks!
Have you tried formatting your sd card and full wipe and reflash rom. Also it is known that when a battery starts to go bad it makes the phone reboot several times on its own. Being it goes into bootloop at night when you are charging phone would give me the impression that the culprit would be the battery.

I haven't tried formatting the sd card. When I do that, do a do a new backup on that sd card? Or just put the ROM zip on the card and go from there? It might be the battery, I hadn't thought about that. I did consider that it might be the charging cable, but it will do it regardless of whether the phone is charging or not. The phone is about a year and a half old, so the battery could well be going on it.
Sorry don't want to sound mean but there is lots of threads that all have this issue with the "random" reboots or I have search all over the place but my "issue" is different.
Look up the title random reboots in this forums or PD98 IMG etc..
I'm sure you will find the issue before yet another reboot thread gets closed..again..

Do a nandroid backup then copy everything on your sd csrd to a folder on your computer then format the card. Then place rom on sd do a full wipe
1. factory wipe
2. cache wipe
3. advance> dalvik wipe
4. go back> wipe phone partitions (except sd card)
then flash rom see if that helps if you still have the issue then cheapest route would be replace battery which I think is your culprit. Good luck.
Your rom backup will be located in the clockworkmod folder in case you have any issues.

My apologies. I did try to do a search, but that vast majority of the results dealt with ROMs that I'm not running, boot loops that couldn't be stopped, or phones that I don't own. I honestly didn't see any that dealt with a phone that reboots only during certain hours. I understand how frustrating it is to have newbies constantly asking the same questions over and over, which is why I tried to avoid that. I will look up PD98 IMG and see where that gets me, as well as go through the threads from the other ROMs.
Thank you for your help.

Thank you so much for your detailed response. I'll give that a try tonight while I'm also researching the other threads I was told to go through. I'll let you know how it worked out.
No need to say sorry lol...your ok just hate so the new ones get cyber yelled at by some mod and close your thread and not getting your answer.
But even though it maybe not be for the rom that your running but also check out the Q&As of those Roms.
And also I know the htc inspire thread for ROMs is always on top of the game here but just letting you know as well Desire HD forums is I would say you should go for the most recent ROMs and updates etc.. And yes Desire HD can be used for the Htc Inspire so thats where Im at for the most part..
But if you ever get a boot loop form a rom you flash make sure you fully wipe (sorry just funny every time.you will see what I mean) from rom to rom unless other wise...If you still happen to have the PD98IMG file still on your sd card happens when you 1st root and for get that its there delete I use Es File Explorer to find whats on the sd card there are others astro file manager. Also This happen to me once when I flash scripts, gps fix, kernels then the rom that I was going to use and it just totally F'd my phone or re boots random or just gets stuck on the htc screen..
But I had made this post for another user (new) maybe this may help:
So this is an idea of what I do when I flash a rom and some other ideas/tips.
Getting Started or Flashing A Rom:
Once you root your phone (this is not in any order really) you should get ROM Manager aka Clock Work Mod. Once you get that, open the CWM and the first top half you will see flash clockworkmod recovery make sure your on wifi I would at least for the updates. You will see a dialog box click desire hd. This will allow you to make back ups of your settings that you made when you flash a rom its always a good idea to make your backups its a life save!! So, once you made your back up and this is what I do.. I plug in my phone to the pc switch to disk mode which will let you see whats on your sd card. Since you flash the CWM and recovery you will see on your sd card a folder called clockworkmod open then backups folder you will see you back that you made, drag and drop that backup file that you made to your fold that you made on pc to save it for later. And thats pretty much how I save my backups of roms etc.. Now if you need to load that back up just plug phone in disk mode cwm fold>backup drag and drop back up that you need. And boot into recovery mode and select back up and restore and select restore and the file boot and your good..
I would download which Rom I would like to use. Save it to pc to a folder that I have made that I store all my roms, backups, radios & rils, kernels..etc.. just to keep myself organized. Once you get your rom just drag and drop it to the ROOT of the sd card do NOT add it in any folder thats on the sd card. Once you have it on the card just boot into recovery flash your rom.. Other then that its easy to flash the rom.. And when you get all your settings set up make a back up and when done save it to the pc and delete it from the sd card if you dont want to keep on the card I do that..
When it comes to battery life it depends on what the rom.. But I like to use killers http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ht=killersolth scripts for the kernels.. For me I always flash a different kernel upon flashing a new rom. For me having the kernel and killers script is the best combo for me to have for performance and battery life.. now since I have inspire I use the uv lites scripts.
For the most part flashing radios & Rils you would never really need to do that so I wouldnt recommend it for now maybe later but read about it its good to know what it does..
Other sides which I for got to add.. When you flash a new rom its always good to wipe user data.,cache, delvik it makes it for a good clean install with other roms..
Also the desire HD thread which the inspire can use the roms from that thread to.
Well I hope this helps you in any way.. if you need help PM me best of luck
SORRY FOR SUCH A LONG POST HAHA
Sooooooooo if you had ?s about Roms or Scripts,GPS not locking on after rom flashing,KERNELS (are my fav) let me know PM me

What do you mean update what Rom are you using again because if whatever Rom your using in the op should be an update if the dev made one. If I'm not mistaken once your rooted and try to do a system update the phone will freeze up.

Hi, guys...
Hope that you can help me...
I've been using CM10.1 for a few month, and since the last month, my sensation shutdown without motives a few times in a day... after looking for information in Internet, reset the phone, installing other different roms, I have discovered that these shutdowns only occur with non Sense, CM10.1, roms..., and after two weeks of investigations, I discover that these shutdowns occur with random access to the SDCard... So I decide to format the SDCard, After this, the phone works great for two o three days, and the shutdowns appears again...
Some guys told me that this can be caused by a broken SDCard, so I replace the one that I use with a new SDCard... Them, the phone works great again for a few days, and them, the shutdowns appear again...
Tired of this situation, I decided to install a rom with Sense, and with this rom, the shutdowns have disappeared...
I don't like much the Sense rom, it is slower than a non Sense rom, I was very happy with the speed of the CM10.1 rom...
Any one can help me with this particular? Some guys told me that this may be causes by a virus, but I reset the phone to factory status everytime that I install a new rom to test, and I format the SDCard too...
Thanks in advance.

interesting discovery. Can u tell more about battery percentage when shutdown occurs? In my case, it only happens when I'm below 20%. Doubt this stuff is caused by a virus.
Do you recall installing a certain app just before the shutdowns started happening?

I try to check every app I install... for a few times, after install swiftkey and download two languages, spanish and english, phone shutdown when typping an sms or note (perhaps the swiftkey dictionary was installed on SDCard, and here is the SDCard access again), Sometimes the phome shutdown taking a photo... and the photo was recorded on the SDCard, so here is the SDCard access again, jejeje...
Some guys told me about this particular, maybe is the effect of a virus, but I formated the SDCard (sometimes I change the SDcard by a new SDCard, just out of the box), and the phone... The only thing that I don't test is the nandroid after SDCard formatting... Hope to try it this noon at my home...
I will keep you informed...

Hi...
After try nandroid, use a fresh install of XenonHD, with a formated SDCard... Shutdowns again... Now I on Sense 4 rom (the one from V6 maniac), and the phone works ok...
Sad times for me...
Try this DUDE it works for me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXR7Ra3f2LU
Well I was experiencing that too on my wife's phone (dont have ansensation)and It seemed the only thing that worked was a GB ROM. Did it even updating to the ota ICS not rooted. Except it would always reboot multiple times a day after flashing rom. Until I flashed in this order:
1) full wipe
2) flash firmware
3) full wipe again
4) then flash ROM
Haven't had reboots anymore

Hi guys...
After try all your suggestions... (my battery is an anker 1900 mAh, not the original, and fit really good on the phone, no moves, no gaps), the only thing that work for me was format all the phone, partitions and SDCard... install new Kernel 3.4.10 based on HTC Ville C2 kernel, flash the new Reveleation Rom from SebastianFM, and then, the new JB Sense 4+ ViperS 3.1.0 Rom from Team Venon, and all the problems and random shutdowns are dessapear.
Working flawless for 8 days, and happy with this rom and new kernel.
Hope to try CM10.1 soon again...
Hi, guys...
Now I on CM 10.1 again, just with a simple trick, a small plastic piece, in the top part of the battery, placed between the battery and the phone... doing pressure on the contacts of the battery... Now, the phone don't shutdown, just a screen blink, and everything works great.
Search in youtube for the trick, a few videos show it.
