POTENTIAL ISSUES:
A glitch I've seen in testing:
After flashing this rom, phone get's stuck in a bootloop when flashing themes/kernels.
Solution:
Pull battery. Boot into CWM Recovery. Reflash theme/kernel. Reboot your phone.

Development and primary testing performed myself
For everything else, there's:
jeffro18, jdelano, Trident, spyder09
CREDITS:
First and foremost, a huge thanks to the guys at Samfirmware for making this possible!
This rom incorporates the work of many AndroidCentral and XDA users.
Huge thanks to the development community.
This is Open Source!

Known Issues
Known Issues:-No LED Notification. This is the fault of Samsung and the latest Shadow Kernel. Bbelos is working to fix it soon. Flash another kernel like Samurai if you can't wait.
You've got questions, here's some answers!
I really miss my old transparent messaging app, can I have that back?
You can now! I've just released a few variations of transparent Gingerbread messaging!
How do I use my own ringtone, alarm, and notification mp3s?
Create a folder on your SD card called "media".
Inside of that create "audio".
Inside of that create:
"ringtones" for ringtones.
"alarms" for alarms.
"notifications" for notifications.
Ah, Swype.
Unfortunately, since the Froyo version that initially came on our phone, we've been employing the latest and greatest versions with better features. But all of them have still been betas, and they will all expire one day. I do not know if, or how to modify it to avoid expiration. Nor do I currently know where to pickup the next available version until I find one. Instead, I recommend doing what I have just finished doing. Install the swype beta installer.
Here's how:
1. First, using a file explorer delete the following files:
- /system/app/Swype.apk
- /system/lib/libswypecorexxxxx.so [the x's stand in for the exact number]
2. Next, head here to download the installer if you didn't get it with my rom.
3. The rest is pretty self explanatory.
You do have to sign up to be a tester if you're not already, I have been for some times. I assure you, it's a harmless process and won't flood your email account.
I wish I could make this easier, but for some time now, Swype has only been releasing beta versions and they will all expire at some point.
As a bonus, if you follow my instructions, then your Swype personal dictionary will carry into the new Swype beta!
I have been referenced to a site with some themed editions of the most recent versions.
Also, you can check here for a few simpler themed editions I have built into my latest themes.
Please Note that I believe these alternate versions will still expire at some point, thus, the installer is pre-included into my roms.

Regularly updated installation information available on the download page.
Install Options:
1. Incremental Update over the latest version.
2. Install over another custom rom version.
3. Clean install.
Why not FC19?
I'm going through a very busy part of my life and am the father of a now two and a half month old baby boy. FC19 is a leaked rom, which I no longer officially support, due to Samsung's habit to break more than it fixes in it's updates. Especially in leaked versions not endorsed by Samsprint.
On that note, I will be digging in to ICS via CM9, if Samsung doesn't drop something else first. I've been toying with CM9, and battery life is improving... It's still a phone and it needs to have power for phone calls when those times come. Check my site for any news on that.

First. Now I get to try Random

As a note, please do not ask me the following:
"Why aren't the links working?"
"Why are there no links?"
"When are you releasing the other themes?"
Any question regarding links can be answered by the following:
If it's not working, I check regularly and I'll fix it.
If there is no link, then it's not ready for release, or has been pulled. Be patient.
I make semi-regular posts regarding statuses.
I provide rough ETAs occasionally, but do not ask for a more accurate one. This is not my job, and often gets pushed off for more pressing matters.
Thank you all for your support!

i'm assuming I know the answer, but will their be an EXT4 version of this?

EDIT:
Old news... This rom supports Bml and Mtd!

Good timing, those OTA update messages were starting to get on my nerves and I need to put my phone back to MTD since getting a replacement.
I'm going to give this one a go. Thanks!
Any specific rom recommended to autoconvert to MTD or does it really make a difference? I'm only using it to convert and install this one.

I am here to learn. Thanks for sharing.

thanksf or the share!

I have linked my own converter on my download page. You'll find the link in the instructions. It's simple, small, worked for me multiple times.
Otherwise, any MTD converting rom. Although I don't realllly recommend CM9 because I don't like what they did to the recovery .

Few questions, If I run the conversion util from acs recovery, will it work? Does this have the scrollable widgets? Do we still need the swype installer? And does it have Google video talk?
Looking forward to awesome battery life like I had on ei22, only reason I left were those annoying update messages

Conversion should work on ACS as it is newer than 3.1.0.1. This rom has LauncherPro, I think that should give you scroll-able widgets? It's launcher dependant I believe. Google Video talk comes if you've allowed a full install. Swype is pre-installed, although may need to be selected through settings. However, I recommend removing it and using the installer to stay on the latest version, which I find nicer to use.

I was talking about the buttons on the top,wifi,4g etc for scrollable, maybe I have the wrong term.

Ah the scroll-able toggles in the status bar pull-down menu!
Head on over to my download page. You'll find directions on how you can have scroll-able or non-scroll-able toggles. You can even switch later.

Did all of the old problems with these scroll-able toggles get worked out? I know there were issues with battery drain sometimes and force closes with earlier versions. I've been avoiding them for that reason and because I really like the glow look of your toggles.
---------- Post added at 08:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 PM ----------
I wiped the phone, did the MTD conversion tool, then installed Thunderhawk V. It didn't seem to do the full install by default. I don't have any of the extra programs or LauncherPro installed. It's defaulting to Touchwiz. Did anyone else experience this?
It didn't even install a new Kernal. The Kernal still says EL30...

I think you are thinking of Maddogin's lockscreens, not the scrollable quickpanel toggles. CleanGB, Sleeper and The People's ROM use them with excellent battery life.

ThunderHawk has been using the Lock-mod free toggles without any drain for the last few versions. As for your install, it sounds as though it didn't install any /data at all. Wipe and re-flash and you should be fine. As for the kernel, it includes an EL30 kernel. The FC09 kernel doesn't change much, and users tend to want to flash whichever makes them happy in the end anyway, . That said, the next version of V will have an FC09 kernel.

Gotcha. Wasn't sure if the kernel changed. I'll try a reinstall and report back. Thanks!

All seems well after a reinstall. The only other thing I noticed is the installer script still says IV. I'll play around with it and let you know.
As always, thanks for your work.

I've put together a ROM for myself and figured I should share it. This ROM isn't skinned and has as much removed as possible while still maintaining functionality.
This ROM is, of course, deodexed and zipaligned. The APKs have been OptiPNG'd save for the few that became corrupt after this process. This is in an effort to reduce footprint of the ROM and, hopefully, increase overall speed of the phone.

After installation, you'll have approximately 45MB of your internal storage in use.
This ROM does not include a kernel. Find one and flash it on top of this. I recommend GeniusDog254's MixUp kernel. That's what I use and can confirm it works.

What is Apophis?
If you feel donatey, go here and donate to XDA. I hear you get a nifty star next to your name.
Here is all the removed stuff in one flashable zip. The nice thing about Clockwork Recovery is that by default it does not check for signature. As a result of that, you can download the removed zip, open it with WinRAR/WinZip and delete all the things you don't want. Close it up, flash what's remaining on top of the ROM and you'll be golden. No more screwing around with ADB. Most everything in here is removed for a reason though.
Flashable Modded TouchWiz 3.0 Launcher - 100% Kanged from Schizo's ROM D:
Flashable 'Clock on Bottom' Lockscreen Mod - Thanks kab0b0 - Screenshot
The smaller flashable zips in Schizo's thread should work here as well.
------------
I have included the DRM files in this ROM in order to allow the stock video player to function properly. If you do not want to have to worry about killing the DRM service each boot, download Startup Cleaner 2.0 from the market and disable the startup of the two applications pictured below. You'll need to change the filter in the top right corner to "System Apps" first.
------------
KNOWN ISSUES:
Genie Widget will force close randomly. This has happened on every Android phone I've owned on every ROM. If anyone knows a fix for this, PM me please. $%*& you, Genie Widget.
Time Without Signal
Settings > About Phone > Battery Use > Cell Standby
If you see Time Without Signal in the 30 - 50% range and you haven't been to a no coverage area recently, you're being affected by this bug. Activate and deactivate airplane mode once each boot and you'll see your time without signal percentage fall. This should save battery. (This bug is affecting all DI18 builds. Hopefully Froyo will fix it.)
------------
Greetz:
Boombuler for allowing us to use AppWidgetPicker.
Schizopunk for pointing me in the right direction when it came to several features of the ROM. Specifically the shutdown animation and the Fascinate music player. Thanks, bruddah.
Noobnl for providing the original files this was built from, and essentially making the whole damn thing possible.
Geniusdog254 for providing the kernel that causes this ROM to run well.
Let me know if anyone needs to be added.
We <3 everyone in this thread.

Here's a fail safe install method:
1) Use Odin to revert to a stock install of DI18
2) Flash Clockwork Recovery
3) Reboot into Clockwork, wipe data and cache.
4) Flash the ROM.
5) Flash a rooted Kernel.
I followed the above steps exactly. I got a force close while media scanner was running. After that, Browser worked 100%. No force closes or any kind of errors. I rebooted and tried the Browser again and it had no problem there either.
I'm adding links to a newer version which includes the newest Market and fixes the Pandora force close. If you're on an older build and need Pandora fixed, push the build.txt I'll attach here in a moment to /system/build.prop. Thanks~
Waiting 90 secs for download now! Looks good. Will report any bugs.

Dint mean to be negitive just sayin that it can be reduced further.
Reason I dint post any, because they are not really new roms just other peoples roms lightened up and tweaked. But if people want I will post my own personal themed barebones and regular roms that fly as far as speed goes.
I have a themed barebones around 86MB with overclocked kernel, and regular rom that im rockin right now which is barebones with crappy apps removed and competely replaced with better ones, new lwp's,themes, themed swype and themed launchers,i squeezed all this into120MB.
I can post both tomorrow if people want.
Or post now lol.

I haven't tested the music player too much. Deleted my SD's mp3s last night by mistake; will load them back up and see what the deal is.
Update: I am getting the force close. Will look into a fix.
Update update: Looks like the other ROMs are having the same issue. Will probably revert back to stock on next push, or would you guys like the modded music with the 4x4 widget? Let me know. Will continue to look into a fix for disc view though; I think this player looks good.

i think the problem was addressed in shizos epic experience rom.. check his thread. maybe theres a fix he can share
Great job, I haven't experienced any issues w/ browser, but I have yet to run hard test.
As for the disc view, the rest of players don't have this feature, so just have to learn to live w/o it. I've used paid mixzing, and the music mod in the past and this one I like better.
I haven't installed SetCPU to overclock past the default 1000Mhz on MixUp yet and I already pull a 1036 quad score.
Only obvious issue I've caught so far is the market is still the older version.
Rom definitely has potential, keep up the good work.

I looked briefly and didn't see anything, but that thread's massive. I'll go through it again and see if I can find anything. Currently trying to find a system dump for the Fascinate... maybe there's another file that needs to be pushed to fix it.
EDIT: I did see a poster claim in Shizo's thread that disc view was fixed in the last release. I just ran diff on his last two versions and didn't see any relevant changes. Still looking for a decent Fascinate system dump.

-Ditched Launcher2 in favor of ADW.Launcher
-Fixed a few framework graphic bugs (ty Team DeFuse!)
-Additional sysctl.conf mods (ty nenolod & drod!)
-Added fly in pop-up animations and flipping transitions (ty johnclevenger @ XDA!)
-A few new scripts to choose between AOSP and Blur apps
-Ad Blocking toggle (enabled by default)
-Stability, reliability, enjoyability
Credits to P3Droid, TBH, Team DeFuse, Xeudoxus, Beesley, Cyanogen, Pete, and many more. Without all the contributions of the devs to the Android community, this would not be possible. Thanks!
Features:

-Build.prop and sysctl.conf mods (ty Beesley, nenolod, drod!)
-Vanilla Android Theme w/ 10% battery percentages in bar

OR
-Place file on your sdcard. Bootstrap recovery and reboot recovery
-Navigate to mounts and storage. FORMAT data, and cache
-Return to previous menu and install .zip from sd card

QUIRKS
-The Blur Email app (default email app) will FC if you do not have an account added through My Accounts. Just add an account first.
-If you're using another launcher besides ADW, do not use the 'Search' widget. That's for ADW only. It'll get stuck at the top of your screen if you use it on LauncherPro. Use the 'Google Search' widget instead.
-Swype is not preinstalled, but this ROM installs a folder called 'ApeX' on your sdcard, where there will be a working version of Swype for you to install, if you so choose

Got a quick question. In your DX video preview, you said that the firmware for the DX needs to be 2.3.320 and the new Froyo build 2.2.1. Is this also the case for the Droid 2, or are we good to go on the OTA 2.3.20?

It's not true for either the DX or D2 anymore, actually
I wrote it in the video description on YouTube but I guess you can't see that here! I'll add a note, thanks!

This is deffinatley my rom once the minimalist themes are ported over.
The rom looks very cool especially with the awesome transition animations, do u think you could pm me and tell me how you would build that into a rom?
Thanks so much,

This looks pretty darn sweet. Any known bugs or issues with the rom? How is the overclocking? Know it's relatively useless but any word on how quadrant scores compare?
I may give this a try once the themes are over too, me likes it.

Using the oc app from the market, running at 1.45, I ran a quad of 1774 and my linpack was 19.894. Pretty solid numbers. As far as I can tell all the bugs have been worked out. FM radio even works
* Im not sure why, but I seem to be getting worse service with this rom. My girls stock D2 has 3 bars in our house, and mine use to Now, and since I flashed it, Im getting 0-1 bar in m house.
What "minimalistic" themes are you guys referring to? There are themes available in the 2nd post.

3 questions
Is this a AOSP rom like Epic Unleashed?
Does it have some of the cool settings like in Epic Unleashed?
Will this ROM work with Droid 2 2.3.20 update?
(Kind of a dumb question

Try dialing *22899. It relocates your phone and syncs them to the nearest towers. Kinda just updates your signal to the network. Sometimes when flashing a new rom I lose signal or i don't get 3g right away, then I do that and it works fine.

[ROM][BML][EH17] RandomROM THUNDERHAWK II FINAL [7-LOCK][NoCIQ] | 1/05

GINGERBREAD ROM
2.3.4 EH17 "ThunderHawk" II Semi-Official [Journaled]
EH17 AIO Volume/Hotspot/Lockscreen/Overscroll/Lag Fix
The first rom to combine ALL of these great mods!
Updated 1/05/2012
Updates, Important Notices, and General Information Posted Here!
I maintain RandomROM as a distribution across multiple forums. As such, the bulk of the information, details, etc. is maintained on my site. Rest assured, the links below will take you to aforementioned site where you will find all of the information you require regularly updated on how to use this rom. No subscription required. Always free (donations appreciated, never required). All of my roms, mods, themes, guides, etc. can be found on this easy to navigate site as well as my blog for upcoming updates. As always, I will still answer questions here.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, divorce, bankruptcy, acne, etc. Please do some research if you are a first time flasher BEFORE flashing this rom. YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me if something goes wrong with your device, I will laugh. By downloading, you agree to have read all pertinent information provided and to accept any and all responsibility subsequently.
Home Of The AIO Mod For EH17.I have updated and merged necrosan's wifi tether mod and mkasick's volume rocker mod together, as they change the same framework.jar. This means that Sprint Hotspot will work freely without an additional Wifi Tether app, and that your volume rocker can now seamlessly transition from silent, to vibrate, to loud. Included in this conglomeration are also maddoggin's lockscreen mod and qbking77's overscroll glow mod, as well as the CRT animation. This will currently remain known as the AIO mod.
To any rom/theme developers: Feel free to utilize this mod but be sure to reference myself and all aforementioned developers involved. It took a lot of time and effort to make these great features play nicely and it's important to keep the original creators in the loop.
Why Should I Use RandomROM?
This rom is a personal hobby of mine to maintain the greatest battery life that I can. I've scoured the forums searching for the newest and greatest tweaks, mods, etc. to include, and then carefully tested them all for battery performance. I've also made additional changes, developments, and additions all my own. As such, this rom has compiled the excellent work of many great developers into my own ideas and configurations. Contained within are many useful apps pre-installed as well as an effort to replicate my exact setup which has yielded me 0-1% battery loss per hour maximum when idle! On good days it's now beating RandomROM EC05 Phoenix!
All included apps have been RandomKing-Approved to conform with the best battery usage. I'm always on the lookout for more tweaks, possible thematic changes, etc. There should be no issues, but should I happen to find one, I may simply release a patch or quietly switch out the upload version.
Many of you have complained that others achieve much better battery life. The goal of RandomRom is to provide MY setup that's provided me with great battery life. Further details are available in the changelog of post 2, as well as more specific details and usage stats.

Quick Updates, Notices, Fixes, Etc!
You've got questions, here's some answers!
Want to reduce the ram leakage problem? These suggestions may help:
Preferences>Advanced Settings>Memory Usage Settings> Uncheck "Use homescreen caches"
Miss Live Wallpapers? Don't really care how much battery they use?
Here they are, push them to System\App using ES File Explorer
Really wish that you could return to the stock fonts?
Can't figure out how to make the battery percentage appear?
It's under Settings > Lockscreen Settings > Statusbar Settings
Want the battery icon, and not just the percentage?
Same deal as before, except you have to hide battery icon, and then un-hide it. Wait a moment.
When should I use the AIO mod?
If you're on a rom that doesn't have it, or you flashed an EG22 theme that doesn't include it.
I really miss my old transparent messaging app, can I have that back?
You can now! I've just released a few variations of transparent Gingerbread messaging!
I love RandomROM, but the Framework FC's are just too much to handle and no-one can help me, what should I do?
Check out Phoenix EC05 linked in my signature at the bottom of this post .
How do I use my own ringtone, alarm, and notification mp3s?
Create a folder on your SD card called "media".
Inside of that create "audio".
Inside of that create:
"ringtones" for ringtones.
"alarms" for alarms.
"notifications" for notifications.
Nice! I'm really looking forward to testing this on my phone when i get out of work!

Sounds good! I did a quick analysis on it myself to see that everything included runs, nothing more really. I spent most of my time on this trying to include both necrosan's mod and mkasick's volume control mod I love so dear. But it worked for me.
Unfortunately, my phone had to go in for repairs, so I'm stuck waiting now until I can fiddle with it some more.
For anyone interested in the dual Hotspot/Volume mod, they're linked along with any other mods I've made HERE.
thanks much!

This will only cause more battery drain as 1x uses more battery than Evdo, this mod was designed with GSM users in mind not CMDA.
@ OP "2.3.4 v. Final EC05" the name is odd was this a typo?
Are you using the stock kernel? Just wondering if the EG22Plus kernel would be okay, if you have made changes to the kernel i'll stick with what you have.

How long does it stay at Samsung logo? I flash this ROM and the first boot stuck at Samsung Logo forever (about 5 mins so far). I am getting anxious now.
Edit: Gave it up after sitting at Samsung logo for 10 minutes. Rolled back to old rom.

[ROM] dReWs-Ginger_FauxICS v.Beta2 (HTC Hero CDMA) **Updated 11/06/2011**

Ever since my laptop crashed with Vista, which also happened to bork my recovery, I've been running Linux (Ubuntu 10.10) on it. Since I was now running Linux natively on my laptop, I decided to try to cook a ROM just to do it. With that said, I'd like to introduce to you my very first attempt at cooking with Android... Ginger_FauxICS (v.Alpha3.1).
This ROM was built using kushdeck's gingerbread-hero-deck 1.3 as a base. The only thing I added was a Juwell's RAM optimization script which I had modified ever so slightly, ACS's ICSLauncher, and Pins Music Mod. From the Ice Cream Sandwich system dump, I also added the ICS bootanimation, font, and some icons. I also swapped out some pngs in the framework-res.
For that all around ICS look, you can also flash DameonAndMeagan's ICS Ring Lock Mod which you can grab from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312431
This was originaly a ROM that I baked for a friend of mine since my Hero is no longer activated. When I flashed it on my friend's phone, everything worked and it seems to be running pretty snappy.
Please note that I am in no way a developer of any kind. I'm just a dood that likes to tinker with electronics. All I did was piece together different elements created by the hardworking devs of our awesome community. All the credit goes to them.
Some features:
ICS themed CM7.1 (Launcher, Fonts, Icons, etc.)
Ram Optimization
Deodexed
Apps2Ext
and more...
Also here's a video of an older version of this ROM in action:

Class 4 SDHC at the very least
512Mb ext 4 partition
96 MB swap

10/31/2011 (Beta1)
- Updated version of ICSLauncher and other little things...
10/25/2011 (Alpha3.1)
- Initial Release
Installation Instructions:
- Download ROM from here:
http://sirthumpalot.blogspot.com/2011/10/rom-overview-drews-gingerfauxics.html
- Place ROM on the root of your sdcard
- Put phone into recovery
- Navigate to "Backup and Restore" and backup your current setup first (Optional but I always backup just in case"
- Once fully backed up, wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache twice. I wipe twice just because I'm OCD like that.
- Go to "Format and Mount" and format boot, cache, data, and system. (If you're curently running and ext4 partition on your sdcard already, you may also want to format the sdext as well)
- From there, flash the ROM (gapps with vvm already baked into the ROM)
- You're done.
**User TIPS**
Per InsaneHien
- ROM can be flashed using Darchstar's Amon RA recovery if you resign the zip using PPCGeeks Android APK & Zip Signer program
- Enabling 16-bit transparency in advanced settings speeds up homescreen scrolling
**Known Issues**
Per gidkid - "When you tap the soft home button on the launcher while on the main homescreen, when you return from the helicoptor view, the soft buttons and the app drawer button are gone. They return with a quick reboot of the launcher, or after some time using other apps..."
Solution: Another solution other than restarting the launcher is also simply pressing the back button. That worked for me anyway.
Also per gidkid - "...while scrolling the app drawer, there are some hangups..."
Solution: I'm not sure how to fix this as of yet as it may be an issue caused by how the launcher app reacts to our phone's device limitations. I'll see if I can work something out.
If you dig this ROM and would like to donate to this project, please donate to the Devs listed above instead (Their donation links should be listed in their corresponding URLs). They work hard to enhance the user experience we get from our devices and for that we owe them a debt of gratitude.
If you wish, you can also feel free to donate to the OccupyWallStreet Movement (http://occupywallst.org). Just like many others in this country, I've been struggling to find work and have lost my house to foreclosure. I believe the political and economic foundation of our great country no longer works for the people as it was originally intended, thus, we must work towards changing the overall state of affairs. We must hold onto what makes this country great. Work towards, once again, having a government of the people, for the people, by the people. We are the 99%. Thanks for reading.

Just flashed this, and it was kinda slow until I enabled 16-bit transparency in the advanced settings. Now the scrolling speed on home screen is fast.
Also, this works with Amon's RA recovery. The ROM just needs to be signed so that it'll flash.

Thanks for the tip on the scrolling speed. I'll add it to the original post.
In regards to getting it to flash with Amon RA, did you have to change the script type for it to work?
So far, I'm liking this ROM. It looks nice, and while it was a bit of a shock going back to AOSP/CM after a while with Sense, it was worth it for the ICS looks.
It's not slow, not by a long shot. It's not perfectly smooth, either, and, especially while scrolling the app drawer, there are some hangups, with or without 16 bit scrolling enabled.
The one little bug I found was that when you tap the soft home button on the launcher while on the main homescreen, when you return from the helicoptor view, the soft buttons and the app drawer button are gone. They return with a quick reboot of the launcher, or after some time using other apps, but it's slightly inconvenient while they're gone.
Other than that, great ROM, great contribution. I'll be running this as my daily pending GPS and other tests.

I appreciate the detailed feedback. I believe you can simply press the back button when the soft buttons and app drawer disappear. I'm not sure what causes that unfortunately and I may not be able to look into it anytime soon cuz I have about two weeks to pack up my entire house to move. I'll see what i can do. I'm glad ya dig it. Cheers!

CREDITS:
First and foremost, a huge thanks to the guys at Samfirmware for making this possible!
This rom incorporates the work of many AndroidCentral and XDA users.
Huge thanks to the development community.
This is Open Source!
Want to make or edit your own personal rom?
Take a look at my personal kitchen!
Known Issues:- If your sdcard does not have a folder called "clockworkmod", you must create it prior to installation. It should exist if you've ever made a Nandroid backup.
- 4G Toggle button exists in scroll-able toggle mod.
- 4G Toggle button is missing from the 9-lock mod, to enable 4g, have to go into Settings>Wireless and Network>4G Settings>4G (turn on 4g) or get a widget from the market
You've got questions, here's some answers!
Can't figure out how to make the battery percentage appear in 9-lock?
It's under Settings > Lockscreen Settings > Statusbar Settings
Want the battery icon, and not just the percentage?
Same deal as before, except you have to hide battery icon, and then un-hide it. Wait a moment.

But all of them have still been betas, and apparently this particular one expired today. I do not know if, or how to modify it to avoid expiration. Nor do I currently know where to pickup the next available version. Instead, I recommend doing what I have just finished doing. Install the swype beta installer.
Here's how:
1. First, using a file explorer delete the following files:
- /system/app/Swype.apk
- /system/lib/libswypecorexxxxx.so [the x's stand in for the exact number]
2. Next, head here to download the installer.
If anyone has a newer working Swype I can use in the next version, I'll look into it.
As a bonus, if you follow my instructions, then your Swype personal dictionary will carry into the new Swype beta!
How Do I Use This ROM?
Regularly updated installation information available on the download page.
Random you mentioned in the other thread that Gtalk video works and it does but is that without being able to switch to front facing camera?
EDIT: I know I was supposed to thank you for this rom I assumed you knew I have been on EC05 Hawk. Also was I supposed to say "first"
Looks great RandomKing..
My time on the Epic 4g has passed but my wife still has hers and this is definitely a ROM I will be considering and trying out on her device since she's waiting for me to update her to GB and get off EC05...
Great work!
I was confused for a moment but then I realized that you gave EI22 its own thread. Haha!

I know you are updating the op, but a few things are confusing.
Does this have the aio hack for ei22?
Does this have any theme elements like battery mod?

Nice. Just flashed this after taking the ei22 plunge & putting ec05 to rest. So far, so good!

I'm loving the ROM so far. I've already flashed a few others just to try out and Thunderhawk has been the winner for me so far. I do have a question though: is anyone else having any issues with wifi randomly turning off and on? I made sure that in the settings it is set to never turn off.

This... Not tryina nic-pic but that standard GB batter indicator just isn't cutting it.. I guess my question would be if there is a theme in the theme section of the forums that would work with this rom. I know we are waiting on the lockscreen mod from maddoggin but is there something I can use temporarily?
Also, Randomking, I saw in the other thread that you said it was the TH2.0 Rom that had the sexy black keyboard... How would I go about pulling the keyboard from 2.0 and installing it in 3.0.5? Yes... I'm a newb at all this stuff but thanks to you all, i'm learning quite quickly!

I'm not fully acquainted with framework-res modifying, so I generally wait until I find a suiting one and then modify it in-line with my own requirements. So... soon.
As far as the keyboard, open the .zip file, and under /System/App you'll find Swype.apk. Just drag it into the matching spot of the other .zip. I recommend using 7zip.

It has the AIO Hotspot, Volume, CRT, and Overscroll Glow features, but no Lockscreen mod yet.
When I can put in everything I require, I will remove the WIP tag from the title and fully modify the OP, until then, the screenshots are slightly inaccurate. Working on it. Version 3.1 will be the first full version.
been running this rom for a few hours now with no problem. My 3g speeds are faster on this rom for some reason (im on cricket not sprint). thanks for all your hard work.

Ok... So dont mess with the theming just yet... gotcha...
Now with the keyboard. I located the TH2.0 zip on my harddrive... Opened it, found the Swype.apk and moved it to my desktop...
Is there a way for me to copy the Swype apk to my SD card and push it in using ES File Explorer or will I have to actually drag and drop it into the TH3.0.5 Zip and then reflash?
**edit**
Just tried to push it using EX File Explorer and got mad force closes when I disabled Go KB and enabled Swype... Dragged and dropped Swype apk into the system/app folder of TH3.0.2 and i'm about to reflash... *crosses fingers*
**edit**
Still no go... Flashed using Clockwork and upon the first boot I got a Swype FC. I guess i'll stick with Go Keyboard for now...
I had to use root explorer es wouldnt work for some reason. just copy the file to root system/app
you might try going into settings, applications, manage, all, swype ... clear data.
So it isn't trying to use data saved by the other apk.
what is the best way way to flash this, I currently using ThunderHawk 2.3.4
thanks

I ended up using Root Explorer because when I tried to paste it in using ES, it would paste but Swype wouldn't show up in my list of keyboards.
Can you confirm that the keyboard from TH2.0 is the sexy black one? Is that the one you moved over?

I didn't even think of that, but I also dropped the Swype apk from the 2.0 rom into the system/apps folder of 3.0.5 and then just reflashed the rom and still got FC's as soon as the phone booted up.
I llooved this rom on EC05.
i can't wait for updates :]
i'm getting alright battery life so far. 75% 6h 12m. can't wait to see what you do with it :]

I think toadlife released a ROM with a dark theme. You might want to check it out.
