Spice Mobile is reportedly planning to unveil some Android devices in the coming weeks, including two smartphones on the latest version of Google’s Android OS- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Although as of now, there is no word regarding the possible specifications or prices of these upcoming smartphones, Spice is planning to launch around 5 devices this month, most of them being based on the Android 4.0 OS.
If Spice goes ahead and launches these ICS smartphones this month, Spice Mobile (SMobility) will become the very first Indian handset maker to release an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich- based smartphone in India.
Although there is a wide range of affordable Android ICS- based tablets currently available in India, only a few phones from Sony, HTC and Samsung currently offer ICS.
Spice has been the pioneer of many firsts in the Indian smartphone market, like the first dual-SIM Android Phone.
Spice generally caters to the budget-smartphone segment and thus, the new phones are likely to be in the sub-Rs. 10,000 price range.
Since Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich runs on only processors of 1GHz power and above, Spice’s upcoming ICS phones are expected to be powered by processors of atleast 1GHz power.
Although this news sounds too good to be true, we should be cautious in our expectations since Indian brands often fail to offer what they promise. But Spice has a good track-record till now and we expect this phone to perform well in the Android smartphone market in India.

I think is kind of copycatting(or "shanzhai",this Chinese term literally refers to themountainstrongholdsof bandits. First borrowed to describe rip-offproducts,it has evolvedto refer also to homemade products, such asvideoparodies of movies) ipad from shenzhen.
this isn't rare in China, and shanzhai quality always badly.
So topic owner(louzhu in English?) don't have too much hope...
So with the announcement of new tablets that will be arriving Q1 2011 running Honeycomb (Android 3.0), what does that mean for phones? I mean, if you watch the Honeycomb preview videos, they are saying that it is built for tablets. What does that mean for the actual phone OS? Gingerbread has barely been released (only 1 phone at this point) and they are already pushing Honeycomb for tablets. I think it is great and all, I'm just interested to know what we should expect to see on the smartphone side.
Nokia announced two new Symbian devices, the Nokia E6 and the Nokia X7. With the new smart phones, Nokia also introduced its latest software update, known as Symbian Anna.

These devices also power apps developed with Qt, thus the business opportunity with Nokia even better for developers.
Nokia will soon make the Symbian Anna software update available to existing users of the Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6 and Nokia E7 via OTA downloads. Running on devices powered by the Qt framework, developers can create applications for these smart phones using Qt SDK 1.1.

Hello to all!
I buyed a phone with a plan for the Carrier Orange Romania, so I had a little discount on the GSM terminal.
It was a gift for my mother.
On the Carrier Orange website, the Phone was Listed as "android gingerbread vers 2.x"
On the internet there was claims, from Samsung that the device is upgradabile to Android 4.x Jelly Bean but they NEVER released it, as the development stopped.
So, as Samsung official statements, was that the phone will be upgraded to Android 4, but they dropped the development, can Samsung and Orange be sued?
As I did a contract (cheap contract anyway) for two years, in the ideea that my mother will have a Android 4 phone, not an android 2.x phone. I really like my contract which I did, as I got good minutes, dataplan and so on, but the phone dose not meet the specifications.
The version of the android is not relevant to my mother as she is not having any interest in installing aplications on the phone but she likes the touchscreen because she can brownse pictures easy on the screen and she can sometimes brownse the web for cooking recipes.
But I AM VERY ANNOYED by the fact that I was "taken as a fool" by Samsung.
So, SAMSUNG DEVELOPMENT TEAM SUCKS and SAMSUNG MARKET STRATEGY is based on LIES and FALSE ADVERTISING, in my country the False Advertising is punished by Law by Contravention and PRISON !
Samsung has announced on September 24, 2012 that Galaxy Mini 2 was to be updated in the future with Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean".
Later, Samsung abandoned development of Jelly Bean for Mini 2.
What do you say, should I forget about this and NEVER buy a Samsung Device, or should I contact the Samsung support for this issue?
I don't wish a custom ROM, I wish the original samsung version of android 4.x on the samsung galaxy mini, why did the development stopped, is the device not able to handle android 4 and is too weak to runt this version of the operating system, (800 mhz processor, 512 mb of ram), or is not having enough "hardisk" memory on it for storage of the operating system? What hell happened, why Samsung abandonated the version of upgrading the phone, after they did made the statesments? Even on gsm arena the phone was listed as "upgradabile" but now is listed as android 2.x, not upgradabile anymore to version 4. What is going on?
