[Q] UK Users Firmware Versions? - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I purchased my TF300T from Dixons and I'm rooted but I'm still on .17, has any UK devices been upgraded to .26 or even .29?
Kept root via Voodoo?

I'm not rooted but I have updated my transformer. Search for an update through settings

Not rooted either. No ota in Canada yet but downloaded .26 on the Asus support site and installed the update with no problems. .29 is not up on their website yet.

I used this method here.

Worked with .29 and redid it after updating to .30. Very simple.

Aw OK. So now I have to find a good rom..
U can always download stock rom (update) zip from asus website and flash it using recovery or wolfs method. But u will lose everything ;(

has anyone rooted jellybean or downgraded to ics

Has any one been able to root Jellybean yet, or downgrade back to Ice Cream Sandwich for the transformer prime tf300. Ive tried the firmware update to the .17 for ics and its still locked to Jellybean. The only other thing i could think of is to use the kernals, but i found no way to install them. Should i even try unlocking the bootloader?
So far, it looks hopeless to try and downgrade to ICS. The source code has been released so we may have root in the not-to-distant future once the developers have a look at it.

Here's hoping. I didn't realize how much I really used until it was taken away.

If you can downgrade to ICS you could potentially get root back using the debugfs method. Then you can upgrade again and rescue your root with voodoo ota root keeper, but I had to wipe data after the jb upgrade, and that broke root for good, for now.

Rooting is very simple in JellyBean assuming you have your boot unlocked

The ASUS site says:
1. Only suitable for Andriod4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS version.

You should be able to. Despite the message, many others are reporting success.

Yes, you can root JB.
I just bought my Tab, upgraded to JB right away then performed below steps:
1) Used the ASUS unlocker to unlock the device, make sure you have internet connection otherwise it will not work.
2) Follow 3rd part in below thread to root JB:

Question, is that all you did? I'm considering doing the same but I don't want custom Roms and such. I just want my root back.

I think the big question is if its possible to keep the BL locked though. I know I tried via the OTA keeper, and no success. Tried updating binaries, superSU, regular SU... no dice so far...

For locked u can only root ics and keep it using voodoo rootkeeper and than update. Thats how i did it.
Im not sure but u could downgrade using this method. It flash whole system again and clear all ~30gb of memory so it should work.

I did the same...root went away after update.
Re-rooted hours after .30 amazingly I even remembered how to do it without rereading!
At my age that's quite a feat!!!
