After my phone(atrix 2) prompted me to update to the latest version, the phone rebooted after completing the update and got stuck in bootloop.
I tried to go to recovery and reset ( Factory Data Reset) from the motorola support website
and also then did 'wipe cache partition'
Still got stuck in bootloop..
Before the update I have root access...
Stock Rom
Please help me!
Thank You for your help
What country are you in? And what version were you running before update?

Thanks but I already got the phone to work.
I flashed the asian fastboot files just now and it worked, thankfully.
Anyway. I'm in Singapore(Asian country)
Originally the phone was at stock gingerbread and is rooted , busybox installed.
Thanks for your quick reply.
By the way, did your atrix 2 get the OTA update?

No not yet.i am currently running the Indian 55.27.38 with that update (that changed to new lockscreen) and its blazing fast (after all my tweaks added and super charged) also i am playing with the oc at 1190Mhz. i definitely notice the overall responsiveness and speed increase compared to any previously released rom in the usa or anywhere. Going to deodex it tomorrow and start theming it for a future release. This thing hawls!

Will you release a new rom based on indian version and tweaks you have made?
Or would you mind to make flashable zip for the tweaks?
Thanks

Should I update to 55.28.37?
Now that i don't have root access after reflashing stock ROM, It should be pretty safe to update it now.

Does anyone know if there is a dev working on rooting the OTAupdate and making it so it can be flashed over the original leaked update without wiping data & stuff?
I have the original leak update on my phone but would like to update it to show the current firmware & software build numbers. I just redid my phone yesterday and was hoping I wouldn't have to flash and wipe everything again.
Thanks In Advance

With the official update you would lose root. As soon as source is available one of the fine developers will more than likely have it ported and rooted for us to enjoy. Just give the sdk a try. You can always flash back to your previous rom

no developer is needed to root ics simple flash the latest superuser from androidsu.com and enjoy
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
If you flash the latest Nexus S ICS SDK port from Drew Garen, you will not lose root or relock your bootloader. ICS beta 3 and forward comes rooted (with superuser).
Go for it, ICS is a blast, and the port is surprisingly usable. Beta 5 should be out tonight so you could wait and flash that.
already flashed that enjoyed it but i unrooted my phone and lcoked my bootloader going to wait for ics to come out then i will root
How do you unroot and really lock the bootloader? Does it flash the stock rom to? .

just flash a stock rom
Problem with Whatsapp
Hi,
I tried ICS beta 4 which is very nice. But i faced a problem with Whatsapp.
No contacts appeared.
Any idea to resolve it ??
But in general I found it very nice.

another problem
Hi,
Another Problem that I faced in that ROM is on the Exchange emails.
I could not configure my exchange email.
It seems that this is the same problem that I faced on my Galaxy tab 10.1
Even the problem of Watsapp is the same.
Regards,
Saydo0o
Are there any floating around, I made the mistake of not backing up my stock rom.
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
@saydo0o just wait for beta 5 to be released or wipe dalvik cache
@BigD18t go to the nexus sub forum and go to nexus s developement and find a stock 2.3.6 and flash though recovery
Does anyone from Brazil (or some near country) received the ICS OTA? I'm back to 2.3.6 - just to see how the update is going here - and not even a clue about the OTA. Tried check in, clearing data of Google Framework, etc... I know I can flash the OTA but would be nice to see some better update support here
Thanks!

Ha..ha....ha...... not funny
Did you flash a zip that contains stock kernel, stock rom and stock recovery? And of course did the superuser app appear in the app drawer after first boot?
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2
hehe im not a noob on it. i have installed the images from google ( https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#soju ) without superuser, so im on stock 2.3.6 with bootloader unlocked only and CWM touch (this shouldnt matter for OTA AFAIK).
EDIT: oops, forgot to delete the install-recovery.sh so im with stock bootloader as well

Hi! I'm from Uruguay.
First of all, lets make it clear that I'm a Big NOOB on android. My Nexus S is my first android phone.
I've a brand new Nexus S, updated with Android 2.3.6. I've tried to update over OTA, but the phone displays that the software is up to date, giving me no chance to update to ICS.
I didn't make any modification in the software of my phone.
Thanks.
I have updated my note (ICS 4.0.3) to 4.0.4 by OTA. I got the software update message in the afternoon (02.35pm IST). I have attached some screenshots below showing the pop up play option in video player, update size (110mb), version information and signature unlock option. It took just about 20 minutes to download and install.
Thanks raghu....

Wrong section bro !
Please post this in the General Section. This is the themes and apps section and a ROM,you must agree, is definitely not an app !

Hi!
I found no observable difference yet, with my moderate use.
For me the ota update fail when it was installing for two times. I got the update yesterday and today but both of them failed. What should I do? My phone was rooted but I uprooted it before update and did a factory reset too. For me kies is so slow.
No OTA available but available via kies, upgrading now.....
EDIT- root is gone and all removed stock apps are back....

I was rooted and upgraded through kies, I do not think root actually makes any difference, all happened is that I lost root after updating via kies.
Also, I was on official stock ICS 4.0.3 updated through kies and OTA was not available.
Yes i updated.. Got back all removed inbuild apps and unrooted.
Can you tell how to root for this ve4sion

Flash any custom Kernel of your choice using odin and you will get root and recovery again, the root only method has been reported unsafe, so better you go with kernel way. For example you can find speedmod here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673072 , It will raise custom binary count and yellow triangle, it can be removed with triangle away app from chainfire.
Download kernel .tar file, select in PDA and flash.
Updated. Only icon change is visible. Yet to see any significant change in battery life. BTW I don't like the new Phone log. It's almost entirely grayish and colorless
Battery life seems better, 3-4 days experience. And you can use some modified contacts.apk if you dont like the stock one, I am using multi dpi contacts.apk (240-320 dpi)
Sent from my GT-N7000
I will always suggest everyone to download firmware from sammobile and then flash it via mobile odin pro as this will retain root. Basically while updating via kies it downloads same firmware as on sammobile, i mean its of same SIZE and after flashing through kies the downloaded firmware gets deleted from PC so better dwnld it from sammobile and have it 24x7 in our PC so no need to worry when something went wrong with phone.
BTW anyone is getting SECURITY POLICY RESTRICTS USE OF EXTERNAL SD CARD message while switching on phone?
+1 yes I m getting this on left side of status bar as soon as my phone boots up....any idea why this so??

having used this for a few days now, I have noticed a HUGE improvement in battery life
yes battery life has increased for sure plus the annoying handwriting tab next to the spacebar has gone, call list as everyone says has gone a bit bland but doesnt matter and the UI is lot more snappir than before, plus the design of the options tab everywhere has changed. all in all a nice improvement but then it might be me only who finds this to be nice as this is only my 2nd android and i dont know much

What is this
This is MIUI for Retail Asian/ATT phones, this rom based on MIUI patch rom for Retail China stable branch project and re-packed for retail Asian/ATT phones.
This rom solved the battery drain issue(wake lock issue) when flashing official miui on retail asian/att phones.
Modded
As the stable miui branch not support the root permission function, I used the common SU binary, this means U need to install SuperUser or SuperSu to manager the root permission if U installed this rom.
There's no other extra mods, it is a pure "official" MIUI.
If U got FC after installing this rom, please DO A WIPE DATA/CACHE
How to install
This is for retain Asian/ATT only
- U should flash this rom on an ICS stock rom(I mean, your kernel should be 3.X, and your stock rom should be ics)
- If you're on CM10, flash via cm's recovery
If you're on other roms, Install bootstrap to flash this rom
- Wipe
- install this rom
- reboot
- enjoy it

This is for JB 4.1.2 Asians and for 4.0.4 AT&T?
What's new in this? Have been using official miui for months..
Is it jb based or ICS?

I believe this is a "fixed" version of the Official MIUI that is based on ICS from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914096). It should have everything the other MIUI has plus the battery fix.

Just flashed. Freaking awesome !
I was running NUMA. Removed Bootmenu, completely.
1. Flashed bootstrap as instructed on OP page.
2. Rebooted to recovery from bootstrap.
3. Reset to factory default.
4. Cleared dalvik cache.
5. Went to mounts, formatted /system. (I always do)
6. Flashed zip.
7. Added ATT APNS.
Freaking awesome.
On ATT net in California. Tested texts, and web so far. Both working
Flashed 10 minutes ago.

So what about the MIUI settings apps and stuff? Like the ones that let you edit the statusbar. Would I be able to find them apps, install them and use them properly? Or no?
EDIT: Just did a google search and can't find those apks anywhere. Anyone know where I could get the MIUI apps?
