[Q] google maps is not responding.. - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Google maps just started doing this where whenever I zoom in on the map, I get a box that pops up saying maps is not responding and it has 3 choices for me to do, wait, send report, or close. I have tried clearing cache, uninstall and reinstall, updated to the latest EOS nightly rom and this still happens. This problem just started recently happening too. Does anybody know how to get this problem fixed?

recent maps update (7.6.0) breaks Now ? [SOLVED]

Hi all,
the recent update to Maps (7.6.0) has broken Google Now, for me.
When I swipe to the Now screen and refresh it, I always get a message saying "Unfortunately maps has stopped."
Have uninstalled the update through Play Store, it's on 7.4.0 now, the error in Now has disappeared.
Any one else seeing this ???
Update :
Play Store is now offering Maps 7.6.1 which has solved the issue for me.

I have the exact same issue and I get the error on both my Nexus 4 and Nexus 10. However, there's no error on my wife's Nexus 4 and also when I switch to her account on N10.
Unfortunately Maps has stopped
I am also experiencing the same thing on my Nexus 5. I think the problem started after updating to the latest Google search app.
Yep, same except problem for me. Was on Purity decided to go back to Stock and confirmed the problem still exists.
As my experiencing, Maps (7.6.0) has broken in each minutes on both Galaxy Nexus and Samsung Note3. No error after uninstalled the map(7.6.0).
I've updated to maps 7.6.1, issue is resolved.

GMail Keeps Force Closing

So yesterday my phone automatically rebooted for some reason and now GMail app keeps force closing. Every time I click on the app, it says, "Unfortunately, GMail has stopped."
I've un-installed the app, rebooted, and re-installed from market. Yet, still same message. I've done a factory wipe and installed a different rom, yet still same force close. I can check my gmail from browser but the app keeps force closing.
I can't figure out how to get this fixed. So, any advice or suggestions?

I have the same problem on HTC One X running Viper rom. It started yesterday and I've restored rom from backup, deleted all account data, deleted and reinstalled gmail and the latest play services apk, I've tried allsorts but still no joy. I got gmail to work briefly earlier after reinstalling everything, it synced all my mails and worked perfectly, then as soon as I closed it and went back to it it crashed again. I've read that it's a problem on googles side, so now I'm just waiting and hoping it'll start working again at some point over the weekend...

I figured it out or at least, it's working now. I just flashed the Paranoid Android GApps instead of Banks GApps.

Unable to fix "Google play services has stopped"

Recently I have started getting an error saying Google Play Services has stopped, I have tried clearing the cache of both play services and the play store with no luck.
I have also tried clearing data, rolling back to the previous version & even as a last resort I did factory reset. Nothing seems to be working, now I'm thinking it may be related to another app?
Model: 6+ PE-TL10
Build PE-TL10V100R001C900B141
Play services: 7.5.71(1955121-038)
Play Store:5.5.1.2
Anyone else had this problem? or have any other possible solutions? it's happening every few mins now

thanks for the reply. just had a look at that file. Need root to delete though, maybe thats something to look at next..
Hey,
Did you manage to get this fixed? I've got the same versions as you and I'm having the same issue, its gradually getting worse. Message has gone from being occasional to once every few seconds. It's driving me nuts. :silly:
I've tried the normal tips suggested for other phones (wipe cache, un-install updates, shout at it).
Currently looking at one of the update files from needrom incase its an issue with 4.4.2. Failing that will try rooting and failing that i guess its a factory reset and fingers crossed unless anyone has a brain wave.
I assumed it was Play Services itself, which you can't delete to roll back (and test) but it seems to be an app, which I'd uninstall if I knew which one.
I saw someone else with a 6+ at an event recently who had the exact same version of Google Play services and he's not had the problem once. I get it all the time.
Honor is aware of it, although it's been a few weeks now.
I just went thru same problem, different device, but i went thru two hours of hell, until i finally figured it out..... Similarly i went thru same problem last week on my rooted Lenovo ideapad... And today i couldn't remember what the f¥¢k i did to fix it! Finally, with the error "unfortunately the process gapps has stopped" every two seconds and constant notification about Google play service needing update.... But damn device freezing cause button needs hit ok.... Finally i went and managed to between error message ; get into settings - application mgr - all - Google play services.... Clear cache data manage data force stop.... Them Playstore wipe cache +data, uninstall update....
Then back to main settings page, accounts - Google - uninstall all accts. Reboot....
Then i tried (soon as booted) to go play but it was stuck on weird error - no service (?? Was on wifi - wtf??) so Google search and said i need update and that took me to Google account set up... Reinstall account and you get the Google accept play messages and backup /restore checkbox.... After that all was good to go.... Yeehaw!! * Yipee!!!
Sure that there is probably a beer way to do it but i was cussing up a storm and ready to smash it into the wall! Thankfully i was patient and figured out a solution
I had the same problem twice, and i solve it by :
Uninstall the update of play service in app manager. (Clear cache mayby)
Reboot.
Let playstore reinstall the update.
That's all.
No need to delete Google acount.

I experienced same issue on my Honor 6 plus and it drove me mad. 100 times per day the same message popped up in different situations but I could not see any correlation between the appearance of the message and any specific activity on the phone. I only noticed that the message appeared more often when I used any map application like Google Maps or Nokia Here. I tried to fix it with all above mentioned solutions, deactivated most of the Play apps, cleared the app cash of play services and all GApps, cleared the system cash from stock recovery and nothing helped for more than 10 min. Finally I deactivated Google Now (via Google Settings) and suddenly the popping up of this message stopped. No single error message re-appeared since that (48 hours ago). So in my case the issue seems to be solved for now and finally I'm fully happy with the phone.

I am also getting this error since I got lollipop update on my honor 4 x and now on Android 6 on same devices.

Contacts not syncing, GPS unstable

I'm wondering if anyone has or had the same issues.
I don't manage to get my contacts to sync with my google accounts, and when using google maps or Komoot, it doesn't find my position. Sometimes the position marker stays gray for a long time, showing some position I had a while ago.
My installation of Open Gapps nano didn't succeed when I did it right after installing Lineage OS, and before restarting. When booting into LOS, there was no Play Store. So I re-installed Open Gapps again from recovery, this time it worked. Maybe it got to do with the issue?
Thanks for any hints .
For me the contacts-issue got solved with this weeks LOS update. Suddenly all the contacts were on the phone.

Google Assistant crashing randomly all the time since Android 12 on Pixel 3a

Since I upgraded to Android 12, Google Assistant is randomly crashing, mostly when asking a location question like "where is the next supermarket". It starts with "I have found severa-" and then just force closes.
I have found out, that opening Google Maps sometimes randomly makes it to work, but then 1-2 days later it starts to crash again. Also activating "ok google" command seems to fix it for a while, I disable it, working, but then some days later it starts to crash again.
Have tried to remove Google app, reinstall Google app, clear Google app data, install Google Beta App, nothing helped.
Here is a list of countless people having the same issue:

Anyone on here found out how to solve it? Factory reset also doesnt seem to fix it.
This is unbelievable, no official bug ticket so far it seems by Google, that they are even aware about the issue.
I have found out what is causing it and how to solve it. Read my reddit post on here how to fix it, who is affected by it:
