the bootanimation and shutdown animation paths are not constant and varies according to ROM
the two paths i mentioned above are more general places ..idk what path the MIUI chosen to keep the shutdown animation
but you can see/check the path by following the below way
Open the following xml file in your phone.
/system/customize/CID/default.xml
Find the entry shutdown animation and see the path there

i doubt that coz i just downloaded the MIUI 2.7.6 ROM
and checked it myself ..the path and the file is there
may be you are checking the wrong path (if using file explorer you need to check from root i.e "/" as file explorer has /sdcard as default )
anyways coming to point
i opened the file and checked it myself
the bootanimation zip is at
/system/media/
and the customization is not set for downanimation (ie shutdown configuration)
i modded that default.xml file (I'll attach it here ..you can replace it )
so keep the downanimation.zip (name should be exact) at /system/media/
and replace the default.xml w.r.t mine
default.xml file

I missed the whole folder OMG That's super noob
anyway thanks for the help I'll try it and post the results ASAP.
Thanks once again. one more point where is the original MIUI 2.7.6 downanimation is located? is it in system/customize/resource?
HTH I missed it.

No there is no down animation path present in the default.xml
That's why I've given the modded xml which supports the down animation.. Check my earlier post
And you should keep your down animation zip at /system/media I mentioned that earlier too

The same solution for desire hd too
Just check the default.xml file find the path and then place the down animation.. That's all

Buddy I cross checked 3-4 times there is no /system/customize/resource folder in MIUI roms [NON SENSE BASED]. I believe customize/resource folder is present in SENSE BASED ROMs.
I'm using Rom: (NON SENSE BASED)
HTC Sensation - 2.6.29
HTC Desire HD - 2.7.6
Hope this info can help you to help me out

[Boot Animation] MW4 Android intro animation as requested.

A user requested this boot animation to be seperated from the current Black Ops Boot animation thread. Here it is for everyone to enjoy.
Important: As usual this boot animation zip is not flashable and must be pushed via ADB or copied to your SDcard and then moved to the correct system folders.
Instructions: Push or copy the file "bootanimation.zip" just as it is d/l'd to either /system/customize/resource or /system/media on your phone. Audio file needs to be unrared and push/copied to those same directories. Make sure to rename the audio file "android_audio.mp3" if your boot animations are located in /system/media. The audio can remain titled as d/l'd for the other directory.
Of course, user Tiffany84 will provied flashable zips for everyone shortly, please be patient and thank her for her work as well.
Previews below, and as always, if you have questions or need help, please feel free to ask. Same goes for requests.
Enjoy,

If the flashable zip doesn't work for you, you can extract the bootanimation.zip out of the flashable and use root explorer to paste it in the proper folder. Unfortunately I don't know the location for that Rom. Most go in either system/media or system/ customize/resources. If you can find it, rename the new one, if necessary, to the same name and paste it to the same location.

Blue Android Gears:
Credit goes to gammaRascal, he made it for the Acer Iconia A500 at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163491

Here's a video: http://youtu.be/nr1kWkOwPB0
The video's animation is a bit fast, so I slowed it down afterwards.

If you're using a stock tmobile sensation 4G rom and just rooted/s-off or whatever
Yes, rename the file to TMOUS_bootanimation.zip and put it in /system/customize/resource/
Be sure to rename the original one in there just as a backup.
just used both of these, and they're pretty awesome.
nxt, thanks for porting the [GEARS] boot animation over to a new environment. Good to see there is an now an opportunity for others (outside of the original tablet release) that will enjoy it.

For stock rom:
Installation
1. Download the file(s) to your SD Card
2. Open Root Explorer (or an app like it)
3. Copy the file you wish to move
3. Paste to directory /system/customize/resource
4. Set file's permissions to:

- Second Column: first one checked only
- Third Column: all three unchecked

check your default.xml in the system/customize/CID and look near the bottom for the bootconfig. line and if you see<BootAnimation animation="/system/customize/resource/bootanimation.zip" (this can be different)
(audio="/system/customize/resource/android_audio.mp3" />(could be data/local as well) that part lets you know if you have audio enabled or not. if its there you do and if not then... no
Tests and Report
i let my phone always reboot, just to see this animation!!!
Glad ya guys like it, Motorola phones always have had good boot animations, from the razr to the bionic.

Sense 3.5 HtcLocationsWidget3d fix

The one from stock ROM 2.08.401.1 have glitches of displaying, I just insert the asset file from runny. I haven't seen anyone compalining about this widget, but this is really a helpfull widget!
Enjoy!
edit: upload a new one, which is from ICS for sensation, the size will became larger.
thanks man..it works!!
Location
How do you insert the asset file? Thanks
The word insert should be corrected, sorry, I mean replace it, in windows xp above, rename the apk to .zip and double click then drag out from runny's apk, drag in to sensation's apk, or using 7-zip, right click to open the apk archive, drag and drop to replace.
There is also another glitch of HtcDialer.apk, it is the handwriting panel for Chinese, I fixed it also, not as easy of draging, it has to decompile - modify - compile. I'll upload it if somebody asking for it.
