hello !!!
New Member: Welcome to XDA!
To unlock all capabilities of XDA, we ask that those of you with higher level skills make 10 helpful posts. If you are unable to help others, please post only relevant new questions or observations. Low quality posts will be deleted, especially when made simply to get to the 10 post threshold. Why?
reasons :

How do I know if my posts are helpful?
Or should I get at least 10 Thanks to qualify myself to post in Development thread?
Look around the forum for your device and try to help out by answering questions. Not bringing back long dead threads.

I'm an experienced user, i've been using roms on my old 32A Magic phone for a while never had to ask stuff really, but now I have a problem with the new CM7.2 ROM and I really wanted to ask something in the proper thread but since I didn't have the previleges I have to open a thread and post stuff to reach to minimum number of posts. Sorry for inconvinience dear mods.
can post now a lot of posts?
just to reach the 10 min? Hope so. Don't wanna spam but I really need this issue resolved/answered.
any mods there??? please answer
First off, starting threads to complain about the 10 post rule is just silly. The mods will most likely delete it and you'll be back to 0.
Secondly, if you have a question then just search the Q&A forum for your device, and if it's not already asked then start a thread there.
Personally, I hate people asking questions about ROMs and the like outside of the original dev thread. I think the 10 post rule should only apply to creating threads in the dev forums, not posting.
But I digest.
As I said - the Q&A forum is apparently the correct place for this.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
thanks for the replies.
can you please provide me with a link to the Q&A thread? I searched Q&A Magic and it didnt come up with any thread other than the developers, on wich I cant post yet. Thanks guys.

Wow - there's no Q&A forum. How bizarre!
Anyway, search and (if needed) create a thread in the general forum instead...

I agree..it's pain in the arse..i understand the reasoning but when you've worked in IT or have some semblance of knowledge it's very frustrating and makes no sense when it's a comment about a thread it should be within the thread...i shouldn't have to jump thru hoops first to show that i can post...it surely can't be worse than some of the other crap i've seen people posting..esp when it's already been answered earlier in the thread...that's just lasy...or dare i say it..stupid
I just want to talk and ask questions about a rom I am using but I have to post 10 post to talk?...

You DO NOT need to post in the Dev forum just to talk about a ROM. There is a perfectly adequate General forum and a Q&A forum which you can use.
Believe it or not, XDA was not created for you. It is a Development site for mobile phones and the Development forums are there for discussion of Development, bug fixes etc - not for you to say "Thanks" or to ask pointless questions that just clog up the thread and stop people from finding genuine information when they need to.
Reported.
As far as your thoughts for the 10 post rule:

Its not a massive restriction and to provide 10 useful/helpful posts is not hard.

No Thank You!,I would rather post questions about the rom where they should be ask in the thread of the rom itself ,that is where you discuss issues with or about the rom,I think you mean an off topic thread for unrelated rom and development issues such as go buy this battery or did you guys try the brandX device yadayada.
BTW did Bruce give you pemision to start this on his behalf?I m guessing NOT!
also I am sure by the looks of your post that you are not a MODERATOR ,But These things are done by moderators and they do a good job of removing unrelated posts in the threads around here .So leave them to do there jobs.Frankly who are you to decide what should and what should not be in someone elses thread .That is a job of the MODS and The OP of there particular threads not you..
Absolute unneccessary thread. Either a question is useful for development, then it should be posted in Rom-Thread on development section. Or it is not useful for development and just a question, then it's either answered here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954621 or should be posted in Q&A section. So no need to clutter the forum further.
if i hae a question why not be entitled to ask ??
Questions belong in the Q and A section,
And the 10 post rule is something you accepted to abide by when you accepted membership here - that being said, you probably need to read the rules...
Please read this guide as well to help you get started on XDA, and this guide regarding post counts and development.
Please make an effort to post helpful comments from now on, and review the forum rules.
I've got a TMO Alcatel JOY TAB 2 I'm going to root. I wanted to start a thread for it in the appropriate section. But it doesn't exist.
So I guess this is question is probably really directed to the moderators to create a JOY TAB 2 section under Alcatel Hardware.
So we can start QA's and the likes for these.
Thank you for all your time, and consideration.

Not all devices get a forum section here at XDA. There are many variables involved in whether a device gets a forum, they don't get a forum just because someone requests it. There is also a thread here where requests new forums for devices are supposed to be posted.
If your device is not extremely popular or does not have a very large community of users here at XDA or does not have a significant amount of custom development here at XDA, your device will not be given its own section.
If you want to create a thread or post some development that you have created, you can post it in the Android General Development section.

Thanks for the reply, @Droidriven .
As to "There is also a thread here where requests new forums for devices are supposed to be posted."
I looked for this to see if it existed before posting this request. But came up empty. Guess I'll just have post to the General Dumping Ground, and hope for the best.
Thanks again!
