Do we have any GB kernels that support init.d? if so could we implement this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111145?
So far not much has been done to the ChargeGB kernel. The source isn't released yet.
There is the kernel in the NAMELESS ROM that says it does init.d and ext4 (lagfix), but it also doesn't completely work yet (bluetooth and the hardware buttons)
thanks, hopefully it'll completely work soon!

This looks pretty neat after reading the other thread, but is this any different from the values that Autokiller seems to modify? If so, how? Thanks!
Most custom kernels already have values similar to the one's that init.d script sets pre-configured
Dear Mr. EaglesBlood Dev. (doniqcc)
I'm a noob and have a question about the [ROM]EaglesBlood GB 2.3.3 For G2X (9-Aug-2011) based of the OTA release. One of the excellent features you have baked into your ROM is swap "[*]Added swap". I am currently using Dragon's [Kernel] Dragon-G2x v1.3 (CM7/Trigger) [9/21/2011] Based of Faux's OTA Kernel 1.3. Dragon's kernel has "zram compressed swap" baked into it as well. I have read the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18041465 about enabling swap in Android and wanted to ask how I could combine these three things.
How can I combine these three things?
1. Your ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1139832)
2. Android Swap (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18041465)
3. Dragon's Swap ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229932)
The dragon kernel thread has a script to enable swap. If you want non-compressed swap via a partition or swap file, the simple way is an app called swapper. It's in the market.
You might also want to check the EB 2.3.3 thread. Version 1.09 came out last night with some changes.
Yep I understand

I have used the script and even transcribed it to init.d/99userinit, but the kernel does not support init scripts. I was hoping to uncover how Eaglesbloods ROM does it so that I could modify it to use the compressed version in Dragon.

True, init script support isn't there. I couldn't get it working reliably. That is why I suggested script manager. It's free, and can load scripts at boot.
I could do that.
I could use Script Manager and am on Weapon 2.6. But if I want to use it on EB 1.09 then I must understand how to turn off EB 1.09 built in swap and recreate it on the compressed swap provided by Dragon, and as I said I am a noob and have no Idea how to do that.
I enjoy the stability of Dragons kernel + Weapon 2.6 because I get days of battery life and very few of those Pause\Reboot issues. But I also really like the work that has been put into EB 1.09 Rom.
Which is better EB or weapon

I don't think they enable swap by default. Check in setcpu info/memory. Swap total is probably 0.

Both are really good but personally I like EB better. The rom is great and the dev is a great guy every interaction I have had with him he has been really cool. I have not had any interactions with the other dev i'm sure he is cool too.

You were correct ! I am now using EB 1.0.9 OTA and Dragons 1.03 kernel. I have no Slow boot issue. I am using Script Manager Ads for the swap script and it runs correctly at boot. I have opened every app on my phone (60 user apps) and I have 91mb free ram and 30.6mb in swap. Battery life does not seem to suffer at all, no partial wake locks from the swap.
Thanks all.
I `m running zeus 5.2 ,this rom has intergrated some tweak script, such as thunderbolt etc..
since I have flashed a new kernel, should I reinstall those tweak scripts?and dman`s tweak in zeus rom still working even i change a new kernel?
approciate for your answer.
the tweak scripts are saved in the rom and will stay inplace regardless of kernel. but the kernel will need init.d support. the location is /system/etc/init.d if your curious or want to change or remove it.
thank you Dani
you are always the first :)
how nice you are!
Hi guys i just want to know which script is best for our fit.
Im always looking for something which can improve our fits performance. So i try every script which comes in our forum. Earlier i tried lagfree v1 and slaids earlier scripts, but i felt they just had placebo effects, Then i came across v6 supercharger and kickass kernelizer scripts. These scripts are working nicely but it gets boring everytime to install these scripts after flashing new rom.
But now two new scripts are introduced in our forum-The slaidyboost v2.3 and The andrenaline engine script. I tried both scripts, but im not able to find which one is superior.
So pls i need some expert advice. Pls suggest me the best script based on your experience. Just share your experience after using these scripts.
Press THANKS if i helped you
Adrenaline engine+ Adrenaline Boost= death speed. I like v6 supercharger but adrenaline for me
Just wanted to start a friendly little RAM competition...
Here's mine on Scott's 11-04 build. This is the highest I've ever seen.

Sure. I'm a tweak-aholic. I've installed the 4.2 GAPPS, as well as the new Nexus 4 camera. Then, I used the Pimp My Rom Aroma installer, and used Zeppelinrox's V6 supercharger, and Kick Ass Kernelizer.
Link to 4.2 GAPS/Nexus 4 Camera: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965895
Link to Pimp My Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908269
Link to Zeppelinrox's V6 Supercharger and Kick Ass Kernelizer (Most recent files are on bottom) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
Also, since I'm running Scott's JB Rom, I had to use this in combination with the V6 Supercharger for full effect:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869663
This basically installs a modified Services.jar, so the Supercharger can install additional OOM groupings and fix priorities.
For the V6 supercharger settings, I used Selected the aggressive setting (#7) as well as enabling miscellaneous tweaks, and installed the nitro lag nullifier (#22).
For the Kick Ass Kernelizer, I used the Kick Ass setting, without the I/O scheduler tweaks.
Also, In the settings -> performance -> memory management menu, I had zram set to 35%, along with Kernel Samepage Merging, and allow purging of assets selected.
So yeah.
Connor Baker
P.S I can't remember the settings I chose for Pimp My Rom, but I know I didn't select any OOM settings, or zRam settings, as they are already included in the Performance sub-menu.
P.P.S Also, my Antutu score I just got is below.

lol... that's more free ram than a stock galaxy s has in total available to the user... the rest of its "512 meg" was alloted to video/graphics (128meg) and the rest was used by ram disks the system used. the infuse actually has 640megs of ram if you go by the galaxy s advertising meathod but it's probably the galaxy that should be considered wrong. only 384 can be accessed for non video/graphics processes and a bunch of that is used by the ramdisk.
Slim bean 2.9.0 with a bunch of stuff running then everything cleared out except keyboard and settings...keyboard couldn't be closed...and settings of course closes settings when its closed lol

Sure... I guess not. Warning however, Your Mileage May Vary!!!
Also, I installed Pimp My ROM right after flashing Scott's latest, then GAPPS, then Nexus 4 Camera. For some weird reason however, if I were to install P.M.R after booting for the first time, I would have weird issues (phone constantly vibrating, clicking power button hot-rebooted phone, etc.)

List of Tweaks that I use.
V6 Supercharger: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
Nota bene: I use his latest files, and the link to that post is found in the O.P of the V6 Supercharger thread.
Pimp My ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908269
Nota bene: In case you did not know, our infuse is HDPI
Nexus 4 and Android 4.2 Dump: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965895
Nota bene: The files on that page that are not flashable .zips are the Play Music, Desk Clock, Playstore, Nexus 4 deodexed system .APKs, as well as the Nexus wallpapers and sounds. These must me manually copied over. I use the Launcher, a modified version of the GAPPS (things like Google Talk and Talk Back are removed in my version), and the Nexus 4 Camera. Have not tried the Gmail.

Those free RAM amounts are impressive OP. I'm gonna have to give some of your suggestions a try.
My biggest gripe with most JB ROMs for our phone has been the lack of RAM. What's the point of JB and Project Butter if you've only got 90MB of free RAM after a fresh install? In my experience, there was no point.

Have you tried any of Scotts latest cm10 builds? They are fantastic ram wise. After a day of usage and not killing any processes I'm seeing over 200mb free. This is using only a couple of the ram saving features he has worked into his builds.
