I'm rockin' the Galaxy Nexus now, before that I stayed true to my OG Droid, my first smart phone.
It was tough not giving into temptation for the newest phone touting the best specs yet, but I just don't understand the thought process behind "aww, now there's a white/black version of my phone that's exactly the same in every other way? I just got this one! Now I have to shell out another $600..."

I have a similar story. There is a big gap between my Tilt 2 and this phone. The reason is that nothing has impressed me enough in the past few years until the One X! I set up one of my higher ups' new iPoop for exchange and he looked like he may be questioning his Apple religion after seeing the One X. I make it a point to whip it out and set it on the table during meetings (the phone that is).
HTC Blue Angel (O2 XDA IIs)
HTC Tilt
HTC Tilt 2
HTC One X
Of course I jumped shipped on the Windows OS, but who hasn't?

For the most part, I'm a 2-year contract then get a new phone guy. I only broke that rule once.
My smartphone history:
Blackberry Curve 8310 (AT&T)
HTC Evo 4G (Sprint)
Samsung Epic 4G (Sprint)
HTC One X (AT&T)
The HTC One X has been, thus far, THE BEST phone experience I've had. I'm surprised by the fact that I can type faster on this phone (using swiftkey in landscape mode) than I could with EVO using swipe, the Epic's slideout keyboard and the Blackberry's keyboard. Swiftkey blows me away, but the large screen certainly helps a lot.

-Iphone (first gen swapped back to the same already owned phone)
-Iphone 4

-Samsung Fascinate (traded the DX for it straight up)
-HTC one X
This was all over a span of like 6 years.

I buy them off contract and then sell them on Craigslist when I tire of them.
I lose money here and there but I look at it as an investment into knowing what I like. My wife calls me "frivolous".

should i buy a motorola milestone (aka droid)

so my HTC touch pro just went kapoots and I'm out of a warranty. the only thing wrong with it is a broken screen, (which i can buy a new one if i had enough motivation) or i can renew my contract with telus and get a droid.
or i can use an old phone and wait until the HTC incredible or EVO 4g come out in canada.
What do you guys think i should do? any other suggestions?
thanks.

Any potential HTC or Motorolla android phones coming to AT&T in the near future?

Before anyone says anything, I'm not here to talk trash about the Captivate. The Captivate was / is my first phone that led me into the android gateway.
I love the Captivate, but I was just wondering if there's any info on AT&T getting an android phone from HTC or Motorolla is the near future? (excluding the HTC aria and Motorola backflip).
I'm still a Captivate owner, but I would like to know my options if I do ever decide to return it to AT&T for a full refund. I'm currently on my 3rd Captivate because the first one had random shut downs, 2nd one had a dark yellow tint, and this one is perfect besides the fact that the 3 button download/recovery does not work.
If anyone has any insight on upcoming phones, please chime in. No flame wars please, thanks.
you may or may not have heard about the HTC press release a few days ago, theres 2 new versions of the desire, one has a keyboard with a 3.7in screen the other is basically a gsm version of Sprints evo, it remains to be saw which carriers will offer what

You mean the HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z?
I thought the HTC Desire HD was another version of the HTC Evo, but made for the rest of the world. I believe the frequency band would work for AT&T for voice, but as for data, it would be edge only, not 3G. That is what I read, I may be wrong though.

[Q] Android phone with Blackberry style keyboard

I am looking to upgrade my trusty ole BB 9700.
I would like an Android phone but I love the "downward" keyboard Blackberry style, not the side sliders (like HTC G2, MyTouch4g, etc).
Technically a Dell Venue Pro or a Blackberry Torch would work but no Android there, and the Motorola Droid Pro is CDMA only (correct ?).
I need it to be compatible with TMobile US also so I can get 3g or 4g data.
What's out there ?

You can buy the world edition of the Droid pro. Otherwise, the only other one I know of is the Motorola Charm.

[Q] Best android phone?

Hi,
Regarding battery life and reliability on voice calls and SMSs, which is the best Android phone we can buy nowadays?
Regards
sam sung Infuse 4G, my first choice
as of now in the U.S. @ least i would argueably say the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic Touch 4G on Sprint or the AT&T variant are the best in the states. I say the sprint version is better because, i hate AT&T and essentially they are the same phone but i would go with Sprint before AT&T
Nexus S is a pretty nice phone. Id wait for the Nexus Prime though, its bound to be good.
I agree, I would say the upcoming Nexus Prime looks real nice
The battery life is **** on all devices, with internet permanently on and heavy usage you can exspect about a day.
With internet off you can get 3+ days.
The galaxy S II is the best one for now.
try an evo 4g or 3D
Best one i know with quality/price relation is ideos x5 .although the camera is not that good , but for the price its unbeatable.
Top 10 Android Phones
1.Samsung Epic Touch 4G
2.HTC EVO 3D
3.HTC Sensation 4G
4.T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide
5.Samsung Charge
6.Motorola Droid Bionic
7.HTC ThunderBolt
8.T-Mobile G2x (with Google)
9.Motorola Atrix 4G (AT&T)
10.Motorola Photon 4G
Just for reference.
I really like my Sony Xperia Pro
Nexus Prime is quite good.
Samsung Galaxy S-III is soon to be released. Galaxy S III will come with a dual-core 1.8GHz Exynos 4212 processor along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone will feature a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD display. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy S III will have a 12MP camera.
.Totally subjective but I think the Galaxy S II is the best phone on the market right now. Though the Nexus Prime and S III is coming if you want to wait

[Q] How do you like this phone?

My wife's MyTouch 4G Slide has a dead microphone and is no longer available from T-mobile. This is one of the two approved replacement/upgrades from the phone insurance/warranty company. What do you like? What do you hate? What kind of problems do you have? The choice is between this and a HTC amaze 4g. Just looking for all the details before I pick a junk phone since I know nothing about either of these devices.

This phone is probably a lot better than the amaze 4g....htc's tend to get motherboard issues a lot...this is the best keyboarded phone available hands down
Not a fan of the amaze 4g, the doubleshot (mytouch 4g slide) was a great phone but this one beats it in most ways other than camera, your wife will be happy with it so long as you root it and get rid of touchwiz

Thanks for all your input everybody. She has been using my old Samsung gs2 for a day now as a spare phone and proclaimed today via text that he hates it and also Samsung as a result. I went with the HTC since that's what she is used to in a smartphone ui.
