[ROM][CM9]**Update** Self-Compiled daily builds for Acer Iconia A200 - Miscellaneous Android Development

**Update** Please forgive my absence, I apologize for not keeping up on this thread but my fiancee and I are going through some personal issues. I am just getting back to my pc and I think for now it'll be easier for me to just work on the A200 until my personal issues get sorted out. Again please forgive me. A200 users expect an update later this afternoon. Also I have compiled a working TWRP Recovery but am having mnt and partition problems anyone wanna look at it and see if they can help me fix it?? PM me if interested. Thank you everyone for your patience.
Self-Compiled daily CM9 builds
Since we are finally merged with the CM source and nightly builds have not yet been compiled officially, I have decided to compile them myself. I will compile a new build everyday with the date posted next to the link. All credit for these goes to waydownsouth, gh123man, hbwelch, randomblame, shchers. I am just simply building the source and sharing it for everyone until CM begins official builds.
Any questions, comments, feedback please tell me.

Flashed over WDS's build, no wipe, works perfectly. Thanks for the build.
(A500 BTW)

A500 build working great Using ics unlocked bootloader v4

This is very cool to see. I'll be flashing this very soon.
Although, correct me if I'm mistaken, but this shouldn't have any chance of bricking the entire device though, does it? Not with CWM there?
You'll have to excuse me, I'm mostly accustomed to the SGSII forums, still learning over here.
EDIT: You know, I might have spoke too soon. I went ahead and did a Nandroid backup, then flashed this. Everything went OK, using the ROM now. But then I realized I forgot to flash GApps ;P so I tried going into CWM..but now I can't. From cold coot, reboot, or soft reboot into recovery, nothing is working. The screen kinda flickers as if it trys going into it, but then just stays at the startup screen.
On Skrilax_CZ's Bootloader v4 (0.03.14-UNL)
But I can still get back into the ROM just fine... any ideas?

Thats strange?? Download Acer Recovery Installer from the market and try to install recovery image from there. Let me know if that works

hey is it difficult to port AOKP b36 to an A200 tablet?
There is a A500 version and the hardware from A500 and A200 is the same...
What i have to change to get a working ROM, boot.img and?
Thanks and greets!

Lumiread and CBS New App Crash
I installed the A500 rom. Before installing I wiped data, cache, dalvik, battery stats ,etc. I also formatted everything including system and flexrom.
I love the ROM. I just have two annoyances. Lumiread (installed from backup) and the CBS News app (from market) crash on startup. I have put a copy of the device log with crash info on pastebin at:
http://pastebin.com/eh9N8x8z
Both apps work for me on Flexreaper and Thor ROM.
I am a noob. Sorry if I am posting what may be a bug to the wrong place. XDA won't let me post on A500 dev forum yet.
Update:
I was able to get Lumiread to work by copying librmsdkplatform_presys.so from another rom into system\lib directory. CBS news app still crashes.

Yeah that worked. I'll try this again next update, but I'm sure it was my fault somewhere.
Thanks

Been running the A200, smooth and no problems. Thank you

Anyone have any SoD issues on a500 build? I still have some sod issues on bare stock alpha2 release.

Any plans to update the builds nick? Apparently CM committed themes settings recently and I'd love to try em out =)
If not, I might finish setting them up on my box and start posting nightly builds....just figured I'd save myself the trouble if you were gonna update.
Also, this: http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/16443/

Working great so far on my A500. Keep up the great work!
Installed over a previous CM9 and only wiped Dalvik.
Looking forward to future builds!

Working smooth as can be on my a100, DD for 3 days now, hoping for an update soon. Fresh install no restores.

hello there!
can you tell me if this builds have these issues that affect the CM9-project?
i mean with this CM9 i have wifi disconnecting after a while and touch screen not working good with games (like temple run and shadowgun), does this build solve those problems?

My wifi drops at random moments on here too, but not that much. I've tested Temple Run without any issues.

This happens pretty regularly to me as well. The only fix I know of is a reboot.
Luckily, I've mainly been using my A500 for emulation. (My Xbox360 USB controller works well, at least!)

(ROM) BiffHero-BETA2-"Oh hiiiiii"-Eris/2.1/Sense (8/12/2010)

Well its that time. I'm releasing a Eris/Hero ROM. Presenting BiffHero Beta2, there was a beta1, it was broke . This is based off of Kingklick92's Eris2g1. I removed some things that didn't need to be there (bluetooth and stock.apk) I also replaced the google apps with the CM5 build and replaced the kernel with the latest CM kernel (including low mem killer patches, 576mhz overclock etc). Also added a better boot animation. Gotta say, this thing is fast. I'm quite impressed. Please see the credits and post boot setup below. Please not this is very much a work in progress. IF ANYONE CAN GET GOOGLE TO SYNC, YOU WOULD BE MY "HERO"
I'm not a dev, nor do I claim to be. Anyone could do what i'm doing, i'm just choosing to share it. If your phone explodes... NOT IT

awesome..... m gonna try this soooooon on my G1...!!!
Will definitely give this a try, Biff.

[UPDATE]
Not bad, Biff! This is by far the most usable 2.1 Hero ROM I have used on the MyTouch. The speed certainly surpasses that of most ported Hero roms. I'm not one to do video reviews or anything, but maybe once we get GAPPS working I can do a write up review with screenies.
Wish I could help you with syncing the GAPPS, but don't have the knowledge or time to spend on it (especially while sitting here at work! )
I'm looking forward to the development of this ROM. It would be awesome to have a *real, fast and stable* hero ROM.

I tried upgrading to ext4 and reflashed. Still a no-go for GAPPS. It gives the error that it "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server." Even though I'm attempting sync over wifi..
Could it be because he replaced the gapps with the cm5 build?

Hey guys,
this sounds quite interesting, since i like the sense framework.
Could someone try to install flash lite:
apk is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?ix2iwdm4otl
(found on http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/67244-flash-player-flash-lite-apks.html)
We know flash 10.1 wont work ... but since flash lite worked on the donut hero roms, maybe this one runs also.

i gave ur rom a try ... flash worked for me out-of-the-box ... seems like flash lite is already implementet in that eris rom. Great! gaaps forced closed for me and camera preview pic is gropped.
Biff, I am so mad that you dont have every single thing working in this rom, if its not fixed in the next 20 minutes i am not going to use it anymore and i know how sad you would be about that. Haha come on guys! Biff is doing this for fun, and obviously its not done yet. SO QUIT *****ING! He doesnt have to do this for anyone (including his perfectly working Froyo ROM) like he said, if you dont like it, go somewhere else. HE NEVER SAID GAPPS WERE WORKING!
P.S Hey Biff, Gapps arent working

[ROM] Manual/working port of PARANOID ANDROID 1.97a

UPDATE: After a few additional tweaks to the framework, this rom appears to be working for both green and red lens defy users. I've personally used it as my daily driver for several days this week, and found it to be stable and very usable. The one thing that does not work for me is the GPS, and quite honestly, I haven't had time to look in to it.
Here is a complete, working port of PARANOID ANDROID 1.97a for Defy. It is based on Galaxy S2 PARANOID 1.97 and Epsylon's CM10 1208. This is NOT a simple port using the port tool and includes the Framework changes necessary for the hardware.
I take no responsibility for any consequences from your decision to try this rom, and being based on alpha releases, I'm sure there are other problems, but I've personally used this rom for a prolonged period of time and the only problem I've had was with the GPS not locking.
Few things to note:
1. No offense to anyone, but this thread is not for complete noobs. While I will try to help when I can, I cannot promise any level of support. If you don't know how to flash via CWM, this is not for you.
2. This rom is based on the Froyo kernel and has been confirmed to work on MB525 with green as well as red lens. This is no guarantee that it will work on YOUR phone.
3. I intentionally used 1.97 as that version was very stable on my Galaxy Nexus - much moreso than 1.98 or 1.99
4. I've cleared the PARANOID defaults that most of the other PA roms come with. You can manually change the individual app settings under Paranoid Settings, or via the \system\etc\paranoid\properties.conf file which stores a record for every app including DPI and Layout.
5. After installing this rom, I "supercharged" it using a v6supercharger script (link below) and it did seem to help make the rom smoother and more responsive.
Special thanks to Epsylon3 and Quarx for their work on CM10 for the Defy, and Molesarecoming and D4rKn3sSyS for their work on PARANOID.
Thanks to brajesh.sharma87 for pointing out the bootloop "gottcha" of simply recompiling the framework (for specifics google "framework recompile bootloop" and read the first thread that comes up).
I strongly encourage any/all of you to contribute (make donations) to these developers.
DOWNLOAD ROM (double check MD5 before flashing - 96D409B4692319D9DA63FAA9CE1516A6)
Download latest gapps from here.
Here is the v6 supercharger script that I've been using and is confirmed to work with this rom.
Make sure you're on Froyo kernel. Boot in to CWM recovery. Factory reset, wipe data/cache/dalvik. Install rom, followed by gapps. Wipe data/cache/dalvik again. Reboot (should take about 2-5 minutes). Install and configure the v6 script. Enjoy!
Looks pretty neat man! I might give it a shot soon. Any known bugs for now?
This is only PA rom which I manage to get work on my red lens defy without bootloop..
Cheer mate..:good:
now testing..

Are you guys running Froyo kernels? Did you do a full wipe of data, cache, and dalvik after the install?
Trying flashing the CM7 kernel, this rom, wiping, and booting right away before you install gapps or anything else. And make sure you give it a full 5 minutes as the first boot can take some time.
Also keep an eye on the led by the proximity sensor. Let me know if it flashes red when it loops.

Sorry, didn't even see your thread. Quite honestly, I've only been playing with PA for the last couple of weeks and have posted in rajesh.sharma87 thread as well as the rom porter thread, but nobody over there seems to want to read.
Have you looked at the logs from the devices that loop? Send me one if you have an example. I've tried lots of different combinations in conjunction with the framework-res mods before I got this to boot, but have not had any problems with this version. Interesting...

If you're on Defy red lens, I'd be curious to have you try this rom. I'm starting to think it may be a difference in the hardware.
I'm on BL6 (flashed GB when first leaked), but have been going back and forth between GB and Froyo kernel roms and found Epsy's to be most stable for my device (which is why I used his as the base).

Hi dew.man, if u want to continue this, I will close my thread as u know there's no need of having multiple threads for the same work. The intention of the guide and the tool was to let everyone port and use and not polluting the developement thread by posting so many threads. I hope u get my point. If u really wish to take this up I am there with u and will provide u as much help as I can but at the same time we need to respect xda.
Opinion of other users are also welcome so that we can keep the developement thread clean. I've already closed 2 of my threads for the same reason. LewaOS and AOKP JB.

First and foremost, thanks for all your help
Perhaps I was not clear enough, but I do not have the free time to take on any kind of support role. Please understand that my sole intention of this thread, was to provide/share a more recent version of PA/CM10 that I have been unable to obtain from anybody else. No offense intended, but I did ask you on several occasions to post a more recent version than the 1.95 you have in your (still existent) thread, and the only response I received was that you didn't have the bandwidth.
I also tried to work through/with kadevil's thread, but he pretty much ignored all the feedback he was getting about the tool not working for PA and JB.
Again, I was looking for a more recent version of PA (1.97+) with a more recent CM10 (8/06+) and was unable to find a working version. I built one that works for me, and wanted to share with anybody else that may be in a similar position...

[KERNEL][CM11/4.4.2] [OVATION]»»Bexus-N!!!

Hello,
I took the opportunity since no one bothered to develop an up2date kernel for HD+/Ovation to release it my self :highfive:
Since am developing this for Acclaim/Nook Tablet the code is 99% straight forward.
My kernel is kinda ...awesome imo always, so i thought it worth the trouble to bring it on our soul brothers forum
I might do a hummingbird/HD in due time but as if i had to buy 1 of these i would pick HD+ i compiled it for that one first.
As you already guessed i don’t own the tablet so i expect some feedback from you guys.
Special thanks to verygreen and Hashcode for making these omap4 babies part of cm11 family.
Kernel is updated all the way from 3.031 to latest 3.0101.
If you want leave some feedback in this thread +/- is all welcome and appreciated.
Source code is here:
https://github.com/Ntemis/android_kernel_bn_omap
You can take it and use it in whatever rom/project freely but please first have in mind to give appropriate credits. :good:

For me, coming from Succulents ROM, it hangs at the Cyanoboot screen and doesn't advance. I was able to reboot and enter TWRP to reinstall prior ROM. Appreciate the effort, something isn't quite right just yet.
so cool wait one for hd:laugh:
Hung at Cyanoboot for me, too. But I could not reinstall my old ROM. It kept failing. Had to install stock ROM but that doesn't want to finish booting, for some reason.

I built using your kernel and the standard cm source tree. It boots up fine and works fine. It is faster than stock. I find it about the same as succulent's kernel which is also 3.0.101 (https://github.com/succulent/android_kernel_bn_omap). I don't know why it doesn't seem to boot when flashed over other builds, maybe a difference in kernel headers? I didn't try just flashing your kernel but cloned your github instead.
Thre are now several different omap4 android kernels floating around. Some have lots of kernel.org patches for stuff we don't need (x86 etc). Some are more stripped down. Some are newer. Some old (and slow, like our 3.0.31 version). Some are train wrecks created by applying every patch out there. It's a shame that TI gave up around 3.0.72. The omapzoom kernel was a nice base to use. I wish I was better at kernels. Thanks for your work. I'll keep testing it.
Good try but does not work, hangs at boot loader
Stuck at cynoboot for me too.had to go back to cm 10 nightly after complete wipe.

Stuck here as well
Unfortunately it hung at cyanoboot for me as well. @Demetris do you want a last kmesg?
Edit: forgot to say I was running an official cm11 nightly when I tried it out.
finally a custom kernel for our nook hd+ ??? cool
I was really excited to try this after your kernel totally rocked my original NT, but I didn't have much luck, sadly.
Just hung on CM logo. Flashed over a CM11 nightly (022114). Restored CWM backup, so no big deal. Just depressing.
Wish you had one of these - must be hard to write ROMs for a device that's not in front of you.

I"all see what I can do about it.
Sorry for the delay guys, not enough free time lately

Yup no go bootloops
Can someone compile a CM11 package till Demetris fixed it?
I haven't set up a building environment yet, else I would've done this...

Just an FYI, I built this with PAC and it still hung at Cyanoboot.

Ok, thought I may have done something wrong, compiled it with recent CM11 and it hung...

[Q] lets make a list of ROMS for TeamWin Recovery Project 2.7.1.0(kitkat Bootloader))

Can we start a list of sorts with Roms that work with the new bootloader?? so far i read that Dhacker29 has a few test builds of cm11 . i have one installed right now and it has some bugs but works and is faster than my hd has ever been . i can run this game i like and before it couldnt play without lagging now it runs crazy fast . anyway thank you Dhacker29 for the recovery and rom. i was reading another site and someone mentioned another dev that had a test build out for the new recovery but i cant for the life of me find or remember who it was. also how can i tell if a rom will work without trying to install it. i read that the kernel had to be 3.5 and newer or some shshhsh. anyway thanks in advance to anyone that responds
I second this. Was actually thinking of suggesting the same thing. Might help keep people from flashing the JB kernel Roms and asking what they did wrong. Least maybe a bit more.
>.>
almost forgot
heres a link to Dhackers Test rom that im using . it has a few minor bugs but all the hardware works soo
http://androidhosting.org/Devs/Dhacker29/msm8960/cm-11-20140619-UNOFFICIAL-RAZR-HD_M-KITKAT-TEST.zip
i hope its ok to do this anyway Thanks Dhacker29!!!!
http://androidhosting.org/Devs/Dhacker29/msm8960/
here's the whole directory with all his builds and where I think he adds them
I believe there is a PACMan Alpha out as well. Has the same bugs as CM11

Any stable builds? Maybe some that use stock and then tweak it out.
i think you can install the stock files and then root and use a root app manager to remove all the bloatware from your phone. there is even a thread that tells you all the apps you can get rid of without jacking anything up. here you can check it out

after root you can download xposed installer and then download one of the customizing modules and you can then change your icons in the status bar. nav bar, even alter the way your toast messages come in . anything you can think change the color of your wifi and 4g icons or change them to something entirely diff . here check that out too . you probably already know all this already but just in case.

This is what I did. I was already running stock KK before rooting/unlocking. Still running it now but I removed a lot of crap. I'm looking forward to at least a few stable ROMs to try out on this phone, but I'm cool with this for now.

Does anyone know if the available KK-bootloader roms work on xt925? I know the ROM unification for a lot of devices have taken place. I am not sure this also happens with the new KK-bootlader, or if we are back on the old xt925 vs xt926 compatability devide...

not sure . you can ask Dhacker29 he is the one that made the recovery I think. or you can post your question in this thread and you might get a better response

Here is a Gummy rom that supports the 3.4 kernel.

So far I know of these Roms that are being developed to run on 3.4 kernel
CM11 Unofficial: http://androidhosting.org/Devs/Dhacker29/msm8960/
PAC-man Alpha 1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2683962&page=3 I read mention that this works but I've not tested it myself
Gummy Rom Nightly: https://mobile.twitter.com/dhacker29/status/480220911225036800 <-- using this right now. Seems pretty good.
full list like CM11 unofficial http://androidhosting.org/Devs/Gummy/moto_msm8960/NIGHTLY/
NexesqueKK 0.01: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/t...2-droid-nexesque-for-razr-hd-beta-442-builds/ I saw on DroidRZR.com that there was a test for the 3.4 kernel but my attempts to flash it failed
Beanstalk Nightly (Kitstalk): http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/35880-rom442kit-katunofficalxt926-beanstalk/ flashed the 6-23 one on my phone.. Seems to be working
wow
I thought I was decent at finding info online but i couldn't find any of those threads except for the pacman alpha but for the life of me I can't find where to download the alpha build I can find the nightly n the 4.3 but alas no alpha maybe its under one of the devs tabs instead of the pacman tab idk anyway thanks a lot for all the great info

Gummy rom tested on my xt925. Stuck at unlocked bootloader sign. I don't think xt925 is supported yet.
Yeah I don't know if any have xt925 support or not. Hopefully they will include them eventually.
Gummy Rom
I recently tried Gummy Rom for 3.4 kernel. It was pretty good, but had trouble with bluetooth freezing the phone and wifi dropout at times. It has great progress, and appreciate those who are working on it. :good:
I have installed dhacker's 4.4 cm build from 24/6. Happy to report that it boots - and so far, at least - works great. This is on an xt925! It's the first 4.4 bootloader rom other than moto that I have got to actually boot up on this phone.
I installed gummy and have been using the auto updater running nightlies right now I'm running 6-24 build . it seems like the the previous ver. had fixed the screen dimming issue but it seemed to come back on this ver. but rarely happens I haven't tied Bluetooth yet and the popping/static sound issue is still there but other than that I like the rom . thanks for

In droidrzr forums there is an Unofficial Omni Rom for kitkat bootloader..
btw, for xt925, dhacker says that we only need the new bootloader (maybe installing the leaked soak test from France we can use the newest roms)

[Rom] [alpha] [Unofficial] Omni 5.0/Cyanogenmod 5.0.2

Alpha Omnirom 5.0 (Trying to get calls to work properly on CM first before doing more omni builds))
baseband is still unknown. So no phone calls or data.
Alpha Cyanogenmod 5.02 with working baseband
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4k5OpXTXcS9NF8zN1dreFAtOUk/view?usp=sharing
Build 5.0.1:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4k5OpXTXcS9NVp0Sm9YMFdEUUE/view?usp=sharing
Calls should now work without lockups. Data seems flakey? Let me know your finding
(This is now working due to rolling back to old RIL blobs (pre 4.3). This means that the connection process takes longer on initial start-up and switching to air-plane mode as well. )
Leave wifi on to avoid reboots.
Also this doesnt have the camera bug fix yet that Derteufel made.
Nice.. Never been a fan of omni.. I'm more a cm or aosp person

REVIEW
Thank you very much for this build for the i9305
I have been waiting for the first lollipop build
I installed this rom and this is a written review after one hour of usage
1 the phone boots without any problem
2 lollipop gapps are working
3 Sometimes wifi works and sometimes no
4 Bluetooth works
5 some random reboots and sometimes it stuck so I need to remove the battery to get it working again
6 no FCs at all
7 seems fast
8 when I open an app installe from play store the phone stucks and I remove the battery
Thanks again and I wish u improve this rom in the coming days
Good job mate but I think it'll be better to edit your thread to make something more attractive, Flash Guide for noobs , links to gapps, alternative dl links , what works, what doesn't , credits , shiet like this would be better for everyone.
The main problem of your rom seems to be the kernel (random reboots , wifi issues , random freezes)
Anyways , good luck and thank you for the rom

Thanks for the feedback.
This isnt meant for n00bs to flash yet. This is an alpha.
In Alphas you expect to get problems! This is only meant for testing and for trying out 5.0 on your device...
can we flash this normally?
CM 5.0.1 build added to OP. Please read notes about what isnt working before flashing!
So the latest build is the most stable one (CM12)? Can I help you in any way, testing, logs or something?

Well at this point in time no. I've just got to try to figure out whats going wrong still and then people can test to see if it works for them and if there is any long term problems with it. Until then its just make a change, compile and flash and I'll let people know if I get anywhere.
for me it is stuck on bootloop... first flashed wih wipe full/dalvik/cache then flashed gapps - bootloop. second dirty flashed again, booted, android is upgrading, optimizing apps, then rebooted and again bootloop... how to get past this ?
Tested. Boots okay. Data baseband ok. Incoming calls ok. Outgoing calls impossible. Tested with 2g

As I said this doesnt have the camera firmware patch added so some people might get bootloops... I'll add this in the next day or two from Derteufel

So, we are at the final step - outgoing calls, huh?
There also appeared some new commits on nameless gerit, just informing
Outgoing calls can be made now. But it seems to lockup when hanging up. New link in OP for 'new' build.
Calls should now work!
This is using old ril blobs so initial connection from boot will take longer. Also I think data is stuffed a bit. Seems to take a long time to get connected. Seems to work for me after that though. Post your finding please!
Hopefully Derteufel can figure out the problem with the newer blobs but till then this is working if anyone is interested.
Edit: only got one question. Can wifi be turned off. Will disabling it cause bootloops?

Yes, it does work indees! In and out! Really great, the whole system is smooth.
Great work. Will be swapping back to the i9305 from the note 2.. All we need now is for someone to work on the stock cm kernel to make it smoother.

Great work on calls! Please let us know when you include the camera firmware fix so I can download again and flash, this is the only thing causing me bootloops and preventing me for further testing. Thanks

Stock kernel? We are only using that to get data working... I'm sure Derteufel will switch to his own kernel as soon as he irons out the problems with phone calls locking up etc. (Or he switches to old RIL blobs for now)
Then there will be the challenge of getting R4P0 drivers to work properly.
After that who knows? Fix opensource compass?
Then Nameless may have other upgrades to implement for HWC.
