if we're on the other 3.32 firmware, should we update to this? i intend on using roms based on tmobile version. do you have knowledge of the changelog by chance?

Really the only difference between this and the other 3.32 firmware is the radio (11.69A), and I've included the rcdata.img which will set you to dish 2. I really cannot say if there are variances between the other files.
The main reason I posted this is for TMOUS users who are looking to upgrade using Steve0007's ROM. Many of them were confused and didn't know what all they needed to flash for firmware...

Quick question, and plz correct me if im wrong, but I just flashed this and if it's a newer firm ware, why does it have an older radio and not the newer one or brand new one altogether?

Keep in mind, the other radios were from international RUU's...for the most part.
Tmo must think this radio is best for the USA. That's my guess at least...
As far as radios go...newer is not necessarily better. What works best in your region is better
I'm about to give this a try and see if there is any noticeable data speed/reception increase. I'm in Portland, OR... We shall see
My experience with different radios has usually been negligible.

Yeah that makes sense..I have better data and reception with the 11.72 radio tho, however, I'll try this one again for a couple days and test it out..I travel cross country so I just need an all around radio that gives me the least signal drops

Wow!!!! I am a tmous user and I am so glad the tmo firmware for my phone finally arrived! I was getting crappy reception and data speeds and after flashing this its a 100% turn around. I'm getting up to 800kbs in a Rom download right now
Could I be crazy or is it possible that my battery life has improved significantly as well? I am kinda ocd about watching the percentage. Since flashing this and monitoring my battery, I finally have what I would consider "normal" battery drain

for anyone using the cm9 nightly, no need to flash this since the only update is the as stated in earlier comments. cm9 nightly includes the new radio. I had 10.56 running virtuous inquisition and then I flashed the nightly yesterday and I see my radio jump to 11.xx.

Question/opinions about ril's and att?

Just updated my radio and ril. I just flashed my first rom( gingerbeast) yesterday. Today I did my first radio and ril. I followed the recommended chart and updated to the latest att radio(06.06.30-M) and the recommended ril 2.2.0079hm.
My question is I noticed in several members signature and they are also running the latest radio but a lot are running the 2.2.0018G with gingerbeast? Am I missing something, have y'all getting better performance with this ril?
I do understand that all phones are different etc...just looking for opinions and personal limes.
Please post in the correct sections.

You may need to watch it a little longer than a day, just so you know. This allows for the radio changes to "settle in," and also gives some leeway to allow for any ATT/network signal inconsistencies that day that might color your evaluation of the radios performance.
Hopefully you had a somewhat good idea of how your previous radio/signal would perform in areas you frequent regularly, so you'll be better able to determine whether, over the course of several days, your signal appears more or less jumpy, stronger/weaker in those familiar areas.
Also, at least when editing the build.prop file, and perhaps when when flashing radios/RILs, as it's related, I've seen it recommended to reboot not once, but *twice*, after flashing. Apparently something needs that second reboot to "kick in."
Like I said, I'm not quite sure if the reboot twice thing necessarily applies to radios/RILs, but I do it twice, just in case.
It certainly can't hurt...
Will do, thanks for suggestion and your time. Excited to learn about these things.

Why flash roms?

So I was just wondering why would we flash roms? I mean the current stock os is almost bug free + when flashing roms we are faced with some major bugs sometimes.
I know that we would have the choice to remove bloatware, cutomise status bar, and sometime oc. That's all nice but still I don't see why not leave it as is?
Please excuse my ignorance. I just came from a rooted Dinc w/ miui
And I wanna have a better understanding.
Thanks

For me it's the freedom to do with my phone what I want. These developers kick out some sweet features that we'll never see from a stock ROM, and they get us the latest software before the manufacturers. I bug here or there is well worth it for me, and if it's to bad you can always revert. If you prefer the stock experience, than by all means leave it alone. But me, I'm a tinkerer. Be it a car, truck, bike... or yes, even a phone, I can't leave well enough alone.
Because we can
To pick up chicks......I haven't met one yet that's not turned on by 48+ mflops!
Can't do that with stock.....
This might seem like an odd answer... I flash so I can have a standard interface on my phones. I've had a droid, droid x, and thunderbolt in the last year and a half (my company does some android development on in house apps for one of our clients, and we go through a lot of test phones). having something close to a stock interface minimizes the daily annoyances of moving between those phones.... which is why I use the aosp roms.

Funny I'm using Insertcoin 3.4.0 that you have listed in your sig. It's just the new market is much more image intensive and take a while to initially load. I speed test in the 4-6mbps range with my HSPA+ and it still takes a few seconds of watching the "loading" screen when I first launch market. On edge it can take 10-15 seconds.
I wasn't aware that the market actually notified you about there being the actual market updates, I thought it updated itself silently behind the scenes.

TMO News Report: No ICS Upgrade until at least mid June

http://www.tmonews.com/2012/04/t-mo...-ice-cream-sandwich-upcoming-device-launches/
If the Sensation ICS update date of 6/16 is accurate this just shows what a clusterf*** T-Mobile USA and HTC both are. Another 2 months before ICS comes to the Sensation, to be honest at this point, I don't buy that date. I think it's just being leaked to try to shut up those of us Sensation owners who have been expecting it in the the near term. I have major doubts whether T-Mobile and HTC for whatever reasons, will release the update ever. Clearly the proper resources are not being committed to this project. Very disappointed.
The tmo sgs2 isn't getting it till mid May so a mid June date isn't too impossible. Such crap on tmo and HTCs part.

I just got this phone, and I'm torn as to whether it's worth it to flash now or just wait for the update. I had ICS on my 4g slide, and I'm sure it would make this phone rock, but I'm not sure there is a real reason to switch now instead of wait for a fully stable version

You can easily reproduce the bt problem with any sense 3.6 or 4.0, even with the htc release of ics without root or anything. If anyone is interested in the issue, try this to reproduce the issue. 1) open google listen with bluetooth on. 2) just play any items not downloaded (streaming it). 3) press home to go to home screen. 4) try calling anyone. 5) you can see a huge delay on calling or receiving, almost freeze. 6) if your calling was ok, then check whether the listen items continue to play after call.
In this process, I faced a lot of delays of switching listen to phone and vice versa. Force closes sometimes occurred. Force reset was occasionally needed for me to use the phone normally again. If you do not use bluetooth, it will be no problem at all. But if you use bt a lot like me, this issue is really annoying.
I wonder if it is only me to experience the issue with bluetooth and ics.
Tmobile is going to make you guys wait until their new phones, packing ICS, have been out for awhile. Why spend money on a phone that is EOL? The new phones have very very little up on the sensation. To give the sensation ICS now would make it a huge competitor of their new phones.
Root and be done with it.
And is only going to be 3.6. 4.0 for sensation isn't even mentioned.. energy Rom ics with faux latest kernal no bt problems other than you can't voice dial still.. faux has been working on the bt

I just flashed this ROM yesterday. The only issue I had was with the headphones (it would detect my favorite ones as Beats, but then there would be no sound. Cheap phones would produce sound, but not my good ones). The dev (sun_dream) quickly offered a patch that fixed this issue so now this ROM is my "daily driver". I'm not noticing any lag, it is running very well. I haven't had a chance to ascertain battery life yet. I do enjoy the look and feel of this, ICS with Sense 4.1. Note, you can switch to Sense 4.0a if you like using the HTC Sense ST app. From what I hear, Sense 4.0a is a little less resource intensive so could give you a little bit more responsive feel. I'm not sure what you sacrifice, though.
So far the only things that don't work: Face Unlock is really buggy with this. And the Gracenote app to download album covers for the built in Music app doesn't seem to download anything. And HTC Hub never finds anything to download. Those are very minor quibbles I can live with.

You can flash it while being S-ON. All you need to do is extract the boot.img from the ZIP file. Flash the ROM as normal, then use Fastboot to flash the boot.img separately. There is a good guide on here that tells you exactly how to do it.

I finally had to go back to a stock-based Gingerbread ROM (my old standby Miktouch 0.7). This ICS Sense4 ROM just had too many little "gotchas" that made it unstable. The fix for the earphones cause it to completely crash if you try to record any sound. Everytime I tried to use an app like Soundhound or Shazam or MusixMatch, the phone would instantly reboot. I just discovered that is due to the patch that makes the earphones work.
I guess if you don't mind a portion of your phone being unusable, these ICS ROMs would be OK. For me, personally, I want all of the phone to work as it should, so I'm going back to stock ROM.
I haven't had the same experience with the headphones issue. So far my Subjekt phones have worked fine and no FC's. As far as the ROM goes the lag has seemed to have disappeared and I blocked some apps & processes using Gemini App Mgr. The Face Unlock is buggy for me as well. So far no other problems.
