Hello,
Running into a bit of a snag with my Rogers One X. I'm on AT&T, I've set up my IMEI and SIM numbers with AT&T and I copied the APN settings directly from a stock AT&T One X. When the phone turns on from a boot mobile data works fine for a little while, around 30 mins to a couple of hours, but then it disconnects. Also if I enter airplane mode and then re-enable the radio data turns back on, but then after a while it turns off. Any ideas?
Answering my own question
I toggled to GSM / WCDMA mode only and I no longer drop the data connection.
There's no LTE in my area so this works for me.

After updating to jcase's ruu update I can no longer receive data when on 4g only 3G. Anyone else experiencing similar issues? Any fixes?
I'm in same boat with you.

I tried this and it worked. I downloaded the lte on/off program from the market switched my phone to just 3g and rebooted. When rebooted turned the 3g to lte only and rebooted. when rebooted turn it back to 3g/4g and rebooted and 4g was back to stay. Reboots may not be necessary but i didn't try this without rebooting.
I think I may to be on to something. Download LTE OnOff from the market. Try and toggle between CDMA auto (PRL) and lte + CDMA/edge. Run the ping test when you have the 4g signal in your status bar. If it fails, try to switch it to just LTE, if you do get a successful ping test, switch it back to lte + CDMA/edge. I'll have to see how long it lasts because I seem to be loosing full signal randomly while stationary. The bizarre thing is that it shows I have 4g signal strength, but the network is actually disconnected.
Already discussed here.
Turn off mobile data for 30 minutes, and check to see if its back on. If not, turn it back off and wait another 30 minutes. There are rolling updates in the North-East right now (Probably preparing for the LTE roll-out).

Yeah what he said.
So far so good.
As the subject says recently when i turn off 3g to use edge and then go to turn back it wont let me
The only way i can get back to 3g is to turn data off and on manually by hitting airplane mode
Any suggestions?
Thanks
no one else has this issue?
I have the same issue it takes a long time to get 3g, I'm with vodafone au so the network is horrible. This might be the issue that the phone can get the troubled network.

I have this issue. Only fix I've found is airplane mode/battery pull.
However, if the phone automatically switches down to edge (2g), it will usually switch back on its own.
Don't even get me started on the frequent complete data shut-downs though, and that's with what little there is of the signal present. Completely ruined Google Voice functionality.

Well IM on ATT in the northeast US. I upgraded my radio from XX to UCK and I think it solved the issue for the most. A lot of outages here tho after our storm (apparently only on ATT tho as USUAL since verizon and sprint seem to be fine. ATT blows!
At work in a particular lab area, I have 4-5 bars of "4G" connection... it shows Connected on the mobile network...
However, I have no access... it does not have any data connection and voice calls do not come in or go out...
Anybody have any suggestions on what may be the problem?
It's a known issue. Either reboot the phone or put it in airplane mode then turn airplane mode off. If rebooting turn off fast boot in power options.
What exactly is the issue and is it fixed in the latest leak?
Nobody knows what causes it, it's just a random problem. Sometimes even rebooting and airplane mode don't work for me

Not sure why it happens. I never saw it myself. What firmware are you on now?
1.85.. I did airplane mode, then it picked up lte but weak signal... now it says no signal... why can't it just connect to the non lte connection and actually be connected... :-/
I've heard that getting a new sim card can fix it. If that doesn't work exchange the phone. It should fall back to hspa if it can't get lte
restarted, now it shows full strength LTE... but still no activity... it shows an upload signal, but nothing down... and goes straight to voicemail when called...
Now it fell back to no signal... guess I'll try a new simcard first... then go from there... I think my first one was similar in doing this as well, so maybe it is the sim card...
Good luck!
Now its back on the 4G but no connectivity... which is VERY ANNOYING...
I know some places I've had 4G (no LTE) and it has worked... it could be this lab... but, doesn't make sense why it shows signal strength but just doesn't work...
I have experienced this issue when I drive from HSPA area to LTE. It doesn't always quickly switch to LTE and shows 4G. But, doesn't connect. As others mentioned, turning on/off airplane mode takes care of it.

Well... seems like my phone just works once in a while... doesn't stay connected and is switching between LTE and 4G, 4G having the much better signal quality... but neither one of them seeming to work after it has switched one time... so is this likely a sim card issue? Or just a flaw in the one x?
I had a similar issue after flashing a new Rom. phone was showing 4g but if I dug deeper it actually wasn't connected. I pulled the sim and threw it back in, no problems since then.
Centex, you should stop working in a secret lab deep in the earth's crust

yeah, mine will show connected... tried pulling the sim just to try that... and same problem... Will run by store to get new SIM at lunch today...
Are you rooted? I was having same issues I flashed back to the 1.73 radio.. there is an xda forum for you to find it... I am using the cm9 alpha 4 build...non lte area..

Last night, my phone connection started turning on and off while I was using my Droid Razr HD. After a few minutes, the connection died and never came back. I tried rebooting and turning airplane on and off several times, but still have no signal.
Is anyone else having this issue? My dad's Verizon phone is fine and I haven't rooted this phone, so I'm thinking it's a hardware issue with it.
Try looking at the mobile data settings. Sometimes they switch around by themselves. Make sure network mode is not on gsm, and make sure your access point settings are on VZWINTERNET

I've read a few others with this issue. Randomly the phone will seemingly loose connection will not recieve calls or texts until you pick it up and use it. And 50 texts start coming thru. Etc... I'm on T Mobil, have great signal. I've toggled 3g preferred, 4g preferred, and have developer options enabled, keep connection at all times. Still does it. Any thoughts???? Or help would be appreciated

Thanks but this isn't my issue. Phone seems to struggle switching bands. From 4g to 3g and gets hung.
This phone connects to T-mobile 4g fine for data. But for sms and calls it goes to 3g, as it doesn't have VoLTE...seems like it doesn't switch all the time or get hung up. I've tried turning off 4g. This seems to help. But the phone has a definite issue. Not sure if it's considered normal since it's not utilizing 4g for voice and one of the little things you have to live with

There's definitely an issue, and it's not just with the Tmobile sim. Sometimes my china unicom Sim says no service too. But they won't say no service at the same time. It's one or the other. I've tried to switch the sims to other slots but same thing. I know its an issue with the phone because when my phone says no service, i look at my wifes phone and she has full bars on her phone. (pixel 2 xL in china with Tmobile USA Sim roaming on china mobile)
Must be a software issue
I have an similar issue... Just it's only for my 3G/4G after 10min of utilization i lost connection (call & sms work fine) and my phone say all is ok (I have the 4G icon...) I forced to disable / enable the Data 1 or 2 times for 3G/4G come back... I have Global Rom & SFR french network
Same problem 10 min data off for like 45 seconds n comes back by itself
Hmm similar problem. Having trouble getting calls on Tmobile. Lots of people calling and going straight to voicemail.
