The dock connector has a USB port. When I plug a flash drive in there, it isn't recognized at all. Anyone know why?

Don't know why, but reboot with the flash drive in it. It should then recognize it.
Yes, just reboot and it should work.
I recognized, after I restarted the TF300T, all future plugs worked immediately.
Well how does it recognize it? Like a pop up or something? I restarted and nothing happens

Normally there comes a notification in the system bar (where the clock is). There it will also possible to open the explorer and to "securely remove" it (like known on windows).
Make sure your flash drive don't need 500mA. I'm not sure if the TF300T ist able to bring it.
I have also tested it with an external hard drive with own PSU and it worked.
Did you have tested the flash drive on a different system? PC oder Laptop? Just to make sure it's working.
And try another flash drive if possible.
What firmware do you have on your TF300T?

I'm on .17 rooted. I have tried 3 separate flash drives with none of them working. No dialogue or anything comes up.

Hi everyone, I have a Samsung Galaxy S WIFI 5.0 and when trying to put an apk into the system/apps folder I accidently the apps folder out of the system folder and now it dosn't start. It runs through the boot animation but then displays a black screen playing the force close vibration pattern. But it boots into recovery and download mode fine so I may as well try a factory reset. So I did and still the same. So now all I can do is flash a ROM. And the one that I want: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689310
Cannot be flashed by Odin but only CMW. So now I have to flash a new kernel to get CMW, This one:
http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-player-5-0-s-wi-fi-rj-custom-kernel-overclock-84994/
But is it wise to do this in the state my device is in? And also I don't have usb debugging enabled.
Can You help?
I dont have hardly any experience but from a general from a general idea/thought, why dont you flash the latest official rootable firmware from Samsung, thus succesfully rooting it, install CWM recovery, from there install the rom you were talking about

I know that is the sensible idea but i'm not a one for flashing roms or kernels as I get worried about bricking and I would prefer to do it all at once.

Buut yeah, factory resetting only wipes the /data & the /cache partition, if you don't have stuff in the /system partition it won't start.
Just go to your device's forum, follow the procedure and your phone will be running like butter again ^^
Its almost impossible to hardbrick a Samsung phone ;-)

I feel really silly asking this question cause i'm new to all this you see but what procedure?
Dosn't matter now. Fixed it by installing a different ROM
Need some help.. kinda sorta lost

When you usually open an app that needs root the first time it asks from root permissions other then that I think you can go into super user nd edit the apps for permissions idk I'm correct
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
It should ask you when you enter the application. You can amend applications you've granted or denied superuser under the superuser app itself.

I set mine to allow so it will automatically accept every time instead of prompting. I also turn off notifications to avoid popups.
Go to superuser
Preferences
Make sure everything is ticked as shown on mine. You should be good to go.

I know how super user works I have a s2 pimped out. I've rooted this phone installed cwm and installed superuser but it's doesn't acknowledge apps like add free

I have set it to allow automatically, but everytime I use emulator to type commands, it says "permisson denied". What can I do?
Set it back to prompt, open app, give it super user access, then go back and set it to allow. Had to do this with some apps, but not all. Once it has been given access, automatic allow should work.

Reinstall all LG drivers!
Wait while and SO (Windows?) must recognize your cell phone!
I'm using the following ROM (OpenSensation | CyanogenMod 9 RC1) as of 27-06-2012.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494373
Nevertheless, this problem has also happened on HyperSensation, which is also CM9 based.
The wireless location service (the one exclusively based on WiFi connection rather than on GPS) does not work at all with this ROM. I have it activated on system setting. But, every application (like Google Maps, for instance) does not recognize this service as activated. Google Maps even displays a message asking me to turn the service on. If I turn GPS on, then I can localize my position. For all other ROMs I have used with this phone (including ICS ones like MIUI, AndroidRevolution HD, for instance), this service works just fine.
I guess this is a question for the development forum, but I'm not allowed to post there since I'm a newbie in the forum. However, I have some experience flashing ROMs. Anyway, I just searched for some thread about this issue and found nothing.
Flash gapps.. it needs the networklocation.apk or something... I had the same problem before... I use root explorer to put that apk to system/apps folder then set permission and install it like normal app and reboot.
This is how the permission should be:
(Long press the apk to show option and choose permission)

I own this thing pictured below this message..
It, and other adapters like it work with a cheezy, sketchy, chinese app that allow you to browse files on the sd card. The OS will not read the card natively. I refuse to use the app. Bleh.
When I was on Stock, rooted, it wouldn't mount the card. I figured it didn't work with the N5 natively.
I eventually switched to SlimKat and it supported this adapter (and likely others like it) easily. Plug it in, the sd card would show up in any file manager.
Then I switched to Rastapop, not supported. I'm going to Catalysm as soon as the next build is stable. I have a feeling I can do or flash something to make this just work on any rom. I've tried different kernels after reading that it was a kernel thing. No help.
What gives?

Things I don't want to do, and that weren't needed on SlimKat:
• Will not instal crappy apps that allow me to view the contents, i want to use any file manager, particularly Solid Explorer
• Will not install StickMount - tried it, not a fan, I want native support
• Will not install "Nexus Media Importer" app

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually flashing Cataclysm today. Do you know if it also worked before you switched over to hells kernel? I never even heard of hells. Why'd you choose it?
