you can find it in the "about phone" in the setting menu. then find it on "basebrand verion" or the "build number" (i forgot which.. i dont have my phone yet.. being fixed..) roms and kernels are already specified on which firmware version they are compatible to. for me, flash samsung galaxy SL stock rom firmware XXKPQ (which you will need to also download the XXKPE as base) then use uc kernel v9, then posseidon rom, then ics theme by tarunagg-continued by vishal. thats my build before my phone was faulty and stayed like that for months..

Hi all,
I need help deciding which custom ROM to flash to my i9003, but i want one that has full Arabic support and a good camera firmware. If possible, please post images of ROMs you recommend, any help is appreciated
Good camera- gingerbread has dim video recording, so choose a froyo custom rom. Maybe cranium 3.1(I tink its froyo, not sure) and should have Arabic(again, I'm not sure). Check out the android dev section for that rom, and also I believe you can add Arabic patch to any cRom.

hello mate,
Well if you not interested in video record, I suggest for you Cyanogenmod 7 it is so smooth and stable with some issue that can be fixed soon, like video record, apps can't use mic.
this is my chose
and have fun
@bscraze Thanks for your response. Ive been reading a little about Cranium 3.1, and i'm about to flash it but i had a question related to the instructions given by sakindia123:
he says clean flash to XXKPH, so can i flash to JPKP5 instead? it is exactly the same version of gb but just different region (language)
maybe anyone can answer my question without having to start a new thread over it
thanks..

I don't think so, there's no reason not flash to xxkph, unless you're sim locked. If you still want to try, go ahead, I'm not sure weather it will work. If it doesn't you can always reflash, as it will result in a soft brick at most
Sent from my GT-i9003 powered by MIUI
cranium is GB, not froyo. don't flash the rom without upgrading to GB first. (I see that was mentioned that you know it's GB, so just a warning...). in addition, if you haven't seen it yet and you want to use push mail notification, GB has a bug on all ROMs that keeps it from working properly. if you don't need it, then flash away!

Well they both have Arabic patch, just that I'm not sure if its preinstalled in cm7. Cm7 has dsp manager which is good, Poseidon I'm not sure if it has dsp manager. Remember to do a full wipe before and after flashing(for safety) and you may want to flash a custom kernel after that, maybe xda bam or uc kernel, and remember to wipe cache and dalvik before and after flashing the kernel.
Remember that if you can't boot your phone but can access download mode, don't panic, just do a reflash. Eg. Reflash kpq.
PS. I recommend uc kernel v9 2009 or 1009 or 3009 if your phone can handle the overclock. Also, custom roms are definitely better than stock roms have fun flashing

Because standard rom is clubbed with lots of applications which are useless and not only take your space but ram too.....most of the custom roms are stripped version and available only after rooting...which will help you to get 'administrative' rights as in case of windows PC.
so you can even decide initial start up !!!!
the design of the stock rom makes me flash it again..

For installing "RECOVERY"-you need 2.3.6 (Gingerbread)
Or else you will end up with same situation as before.
So make sure you are on Gingerbread first
If you already on Gingerbread then no need of that step..install recovery and then flash roms.
If you are on Froyo then flash Gingebread first..then recovery and then roms.

Which files here I need to use?
(I sent you the link in a private message)
Before that I had a BB V10H
the Version of the phone is p500h (Write behind the battery)
this phone is Israeli.
Burned the version V10H suitable handler, the device works fine.
Is there a Rom that match the version V10H?
You can flash any custom rom made for p506 or p509 directly as they are still on old baseband which is same as your current baseband. You can also flash any p500 & p505 rom (which is new bb), and then flash the file 'old bb fix' which will make the rom compatible with your radio (baseband). In short - all roms.....(just keep in mind - cm7.2 roms are old bb roms developed before stock gb was available from LG ) .happy flashing.

I'd be happy to recommend rum for me without changing the BB.
Something that looks as version 4 of Android.

Thank you!
Go to rashed's thread in original development section & try any rom of p506 or p509. They will be compatible for your baseband. BTW which recovery are u using? Keep a nandroid backup of your current rom which u can revert to, just in case.

the problem is that custom roms are great and offer more performance(one thing that our phone lucks) I personaly use an ICS rom, but you now, by rooting your phone, have the freedom to experiment what might be suitable for you, but I recomand to use ICS or JB roms, read treads and posts, look for what you would expect from that rom to have/do and to be for daily use, anyway from my experience every custom rom would not last too much in your phone, they are too many and too great not to experiment them(and after some time they must be reflashed anyway)
so, have fun

Actually, P506 has a different touch screen so the drivers are different. P509 is identical to the P500 in every aspect except for the fact that it is always old baseband.
About Hebrew, it does not work.
It will not change the system language but will allow you to send & read messages and browse in hebrew after you enable in anysoft keyboard. Did you download the hebrew language pack?

hi guys.
I have problems when installing certain custom ROMS using CWM acording to the Baseband used.
Don't Know why, but when I wanted to install VURRUT KPU again (i had done it several times) Screen keeps on the first image of SAMSUNG SCL I9003 and nothing happens.
I tried to use another custom ROM based on LF2, and when I install it via CWM, it does the same thing, the only difference is that the phone reboots and comes back again to the same SAMSUNG screen.
My phone is galaxy SCL I9003L but i've never had problems installing those ROMs.. It's very strange.
Please if someone could explain me if there is a reason why it's happening this, tell me, i'm a bit scared, using Stock FROYO I9003LUBKB1.
Thanks
