I apologize if I have understood this all incorrectly, but kindly clarify the following for me.
What I have already done:
1. Installed CWM (ClockWorkMod) on the tablet: Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 using Odin
2. Installed the rooting zip file from external sd
3. Made a backup image on an external sd
What I need to do:
1. Flash a custom ROM onto the device from my PC using fastboot
Errors:
1. Fastboot devices returns nothing (absolutely no response... please find the attached pic)
2. Adb reboot bootloader - just reboots the OS (not in fastboot)
3. Fastboot oem unlock says waiting for device endlessly.
My Queries:
1.I have a recovery mode and download mode (aka odin mode). Is either of them the FASTBOOT mode or is fastboot something completely different. If so how to get into FASTBOOT mode??
I read I have to get a USB icon and a Fastboot mode display on screen. I do not.
2. Why is my device not showing under fastboot devices (on download mode, neither show the device.), but adb devices shows the device under recovery mode
3. Is it possible to flash a ROM using fastboot if I have CWM installed. Or does CWM disable fastboot?
4. Also does this device have a Fastboot mode at all? If yes how to get into Fastboot mode??
From what I've read here, there is no fastboot mode on the Tabs.

load it on your external sdcard, boot into cwm and do a fullwipe/factory reset then install the zip from sdcard. poof, rom installed
to boot into cwm, turn off the tablet.
press and hold power and volume down (the one closes to power button) once the samsung tablet logo appears let go of power and continue holding vol down until cwm appears (this can take a couple minutes)
Thanks then!

Well thanks for the info.
I currently have custom TWRP recovery.
I've looked around, and the only tutorial I could find for the K1 is something that needs a file it doesn't provide.
Anybody here know how? (What commands to run, what to do in TWRP, what specifically to download, what to do with said files)
The official way is to download the recovery images and flash them with your PC.

Use your brain and read!
From the link given above:
SHIELD TABLET RECOVERY IMAGE FLASHING INSTRUCTIONS
To follow the instructions in this guide, you will need adb and fastboot.
These tools are provided as part of the Android SDK:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Before flashing this recovery image to your SHIELD TABLET, connect your SHIELD TABLET
via USB to the PC where you downloaded this recovery image.
Next, put your SHIELD TABLET into fastboot mode using one of the following methods:
SW method:
- Boot to android home screen
- Connect the device to linux/windows system
- Open terminal (on linux); command prompt (on windows).
- Type "adb reboot bootloader" in terminal/command prompt
HW method:
- Turn off the device
- Press "Volume Down" -> "Power", hold "Volume Down" and leave Power buttons till device boots
To flash this recovery image to your SHIELD TABLET, run the following commands from
the directory where you extracted the recovery image package. If this is the
first time you have done this procedure, you must unlock the bootloader (see
below):
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot flash staging blob
Unlocking the Bootloader
Your SHIELD TABLET may have shipped with a locked bootloader. To update the device,
you must unlock the bootloader using the following:
- fastboot oem unlock
- Press the "Volume Down" button to select "Unlock bootloader" option on device
- Press the "Power" button to confirm the unlock. Your device's bootloader is now unlocked.

Strange instructions. Official ROMs should flash fine with a locked bootloader.. and last time I checked, there was a script for all these fastboot flash X commands.
I would hope that there are more accurate instructions in the actual factory image zip.
Sorry, I'm very new to these sorts of things, and didn't realize I had to unzip the files. I thought I just had to flash via TWRP like any other ROM.

Hello everyone,
By this guide you can root and unlock bootloader of recently launched device in India i.e; Hyve Buzz (BU01). I will tell you how we can install TWRP recovery and by using it we can easily root the device. There are 2 methods for installing TWRP recovery, both are explained below. You can follow any method according to your need. These are not just one click solutions so, I am assuming that you have some prior knowledge of rooting and unlocking. If you don't know anything about this then, it's better to try after reading some threads at XDA explaining about rooting and unlocking. I will add un-rooting/restoring process in the next thread.
Install TWRP Recovery
Download "Root/Unlock package" from downloads section and extract. It contains following files: -
- "MT6753_Android_scatter.txt" for SP Flash Tool scatter loading.
- "recovery.img", customised TWRP recovery.
- "recovery-stock.img", stock recovery if you want to restore.
Method 1 (Windows Only)
Flash recovery via SP Flash Tool.
1. Open SP Flash Tool and under "Download" tab select, "Scatter-loading".
2. Select "MT6753_Android_scatter.txt" from the extracted files. It will load all the files.
3. Uncheck all the items below and select only "recovery".
4. Click on "Download" button at the top.
5. Turn off the device and connect it to the USB and it will start flashing the recovery.
6. "Download OK" dialog will appear.
7. Turn on your device and finish the boot process. Now, you can proceed to rooting process.
Method 2 (Windows/LINUX/OS X)
Unlock bootloader and flash recovery via fastboot. ADB/Fastboot must be installed and working. You can check other XDA threads to install.
1. Go to Settings > About phone > Tap on "Build number" 7 times. It will unlock "Developer options".
2. Now, go to Settings > Developer options.
3. Enable "OEM unlocking" and "USB debugging".
4. Run the below command in terminal/cmd to reboot into bootloader mode: -
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
6. "FASTBOOT mode" will appear at the bottom left corner of the screen, run the following command and follow on-screen instructions to unlock bootloader: -
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Press "Volume Up" button to proceed (Data will be wiped due to security reasons).
7. Now, press "Power", "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" buttons together to turn off the device.
8. Now, again boot into Fastboot mode by following the below instructions and run the below command to install TWRP recovery.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
9. Again, press "Power", "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" buttons together to turn off the device.
10. Turn on your device and finish the boot process. Now, you can proceed to rooting process.
Boot into Recovery/Fastboot
1. Turn off the device and wait for 2-3 seconds.
2. Press and Hold "Power + Volume Up" buttons until screen turns on.

The ROM you maintained is with or without scatter file?
Can someone point me to the guide for rooting a j700t? Do I need a specific version of TWRP or Odin to root my phone and then install the roms? Also, is there anything I need to watch out for(like bricking the phone) when rooting my phone(besides the obvious of voiding the warranty)?

First make sure your phone have OEM unlocked, USB debugging and Unknown Sources from Developer Options.
( to activate it press multiple times on Version Number at About Device -> Software Informations )
Download latest versions of TWRP and SuperSU
1.Put your phone in download mode ( turn on the phone with home button, lock button and volume DOWN simultaneously pressed) and connect it to PC via USB
2. Open ODIN. Flash TWRP (at AP)
3. Download SuperSU and put in on your microsd card.
4. Enter TWRP ( turn on the phone with home button, lock button and volume UP simultaneously pressed)
5. At install select SuperSU zip from microsd card
6. Flash and enjoy ( if SuperSU not installed at first try. Flash again SuperSU from TWRP and it will work )
I had No problems after root. Have fun.

Here is a guide to putting Magisk on the Doogee X95
The Doogee X95 is a sh*t phone I bought for less that $100 US. It has android 10.Not a terrible phone. Good backup phone.
You will need a computer that has adb and fastboot tools installed. You will also need SPFlashTools.
I use Linux with the linux version of SPFlash Tool (v5.1916). There is also a windows version available.
Couple things to know.
From Power off:
Holding Volume Up + Power will bring up Boot menu. From here we can boot into recovery and fastboot modes. Vol Up to navigate, and Vol Down to select.
Holding Volume Down + Power will boot into Factory Mode
Unlocking the BootLoader.
Enable Developer Mode.
Enable OEM unlocking.
Power of Phone.
Hold Volume Up + Power to get Boot Menu.
Navigate to Fastboot.
Connect phone to computer. Issue this command:
fastboot flashing unlock.
The screen will display warning. Use Volume Up to YES (unlock bootloader). Then:
fastboot reboot.
The next reboot may be long as it will erase all data.
Now Bootloader Unlocked.
Install Magisk.
Acquire copy of boot.img.
Patch on a phone with Magisk App.
Then patched_magisk_boot.img file needs to be signed. This can be done with generic rsa2048_vbmeta.pem using avbtool. There is a write up at Hovatek on how to accomplish.
I have done the dirty work and have attached, for convenience, a copy of patched_boot.img and scatter file. Now they can be flashed to device using SPFlash tool. Just select the scatter, and flash only boot.img.
Boom. Magisk.
Thank me later…
Bump here. I've gone through the whole tutorial flawlessly, apart from the fact that after flashing the boot.img you provided, the phone enters a bootloop. I have tried flashing the original boot.img from the DOOGEE website but it seems my efforts are worthless.
I have tried flashing via SPFlashtools and Fastboot.
Would you know how to mend this issue?
Replies appreciated.
